  1. Installed Evernote om my clean home directory with my new employer and this flooded it with 1,9Gb of data I use Evernote since 2009 and am a Premium-user on and off, so there are a lot of notes and attachments in my stack of notes. I find it very hard to swallow that I can tell on my mobile devices to sync specific stacks but not on my desktop client. Please add a possibility to add a new stack on my local Evernote that I can sync to the cloud and to my homedevices, where the other notes live, without syncing all the private and historical notes back on my freshly installed Evernote
  2. Hi, I am on Basic, and use Evernote mostly with local notebooks (hosted on my Mac laptop) with a smaller number of notebooks on a non-local folder, which I want synced to my Android phone. I started getting notifications earlier this week that my monthly usage has been used up, which I did not understand, since I had not been using my "online" folder for creating new notebooks. Then I noticed that hundreds of my notes from my local notebooks have been transferred to my phone. My Evernote on my Mac laptop claims these notes all live in "local notebooks", however they have been transferred on my Android phone. I have no idea how this got activated (I certainly did not choose it), and it is not clear to me how to stop it. Any hints? Using Evernote 6.11 Beta 2 on macOS Sierra 10.12.4 Beta, and Evernote 7.9.8.2 on Android 6.0.1. With many thanks, --Christos
  3. Hello, I use Evernote on several devices How do I syncronize notes without Internet connection? Via bluetooth or wi-fi may be? In theory it is possible to do this with Tasker and AutoInput But more natural and simple solution would be much better! Thank you in advance!
  4. From the window warning that some sync is not made or caused problems I cannot easily jump to the note. I have to search by title or whatever. And very often I don't find the notice because it's not there anymore. A direct link from warning to the note would be fine and solve the problem with not existing but warned notes.
  5. I am using Evernote desktop app under windows 7. Evernote has been running fine in the past, but a few days ago the sync always has problem (displaying a red warning). Later the sync is complete, but I noticed the notes I created in the past few days are not there. In the web app, I noticed that most missing notes can be found there. There is one note which was completely gone. How can I sync the web notes to my desktop? And where to find the missing note?
  6. Hi all, I am sorry if I repeat previous posts but couldn't find a solution by using EN's help or searching this site either. So obviously I am new and stunned by the problem that my notebooks sync between my Macs and iOs (iPhone), however the notes do not. Could someone please help or direct my to a post that has already explained this? Thanks a lot! Alex
  7. So when i open up a new note and start to fill in all the needed Information, evernote tends to "kick" me out of the session, leaving me with a notice, that the note was not saved! I've tried to empty the evernote *trash-can*, but even that didn't help. None of the Tipps given on the Website have managed to solve the Problem, so I am hoping someone could lend a helping hand.
  8. I've always had sync issues with evernote between my two computers, but put up with it since I only really used evernote on one of them regularly. Now that the computer with my most up to date notes is toast, I feel I have lost those notes forever. Is there there any way to retrieve those notes? I've tried to do a sync post mortem, and the sync button goes about its merry way without complaints, but no updates (extra detail: the computer with the most up to date notes always showed an error when syncing with the other computer). Clarification: Mac Book: Has old version of notes. Does not error when sync button is pressed. Has exact same notes that web version of EN contains. PC (Nonrecoverable): Has the latest version of notes, but is no longer accessible. Always got an error when I pressed the sync button.
  9. I was wondering if there was a setting someplace for how often sync happens. When taking notes if I type even one word and then rest for a second the page flips back to top of the page with what looks like a green bar (sync) process happening. I'm using the free version of Evernote. thanks, TriciaJ
  10. Finally figured out how to save Notes from my phone (sony xperia z1), but sync is failing repeatedly. I've followed all the steps for sync failures (reinstalling evernote, updating, checking if more than 2 devices are synced, checking web evernote, etc.), but it's still not working. The only thing I haven't tried is restarting my phone, which I can't do because the power button has stopped working. Once the screen dies I won't be able to get to the info on my phone at all (it's been slowly going haywire even before this), except the photos and such, so I really need an urgent fix for this problem. To anyone with advice, thank you in advance.
  11. Hi I'm a free user of Evernote and recently had a problem with the notes on my mac disappearing. These notes were previously synced to the Evernote cloud/servers (confirmed after checking Evernote Web). However, I am unsure how to recover these notebooks/notes from the servers so that I can use them on my mac app instead.
  12. Hi all, I'm having an issue with a specific note not syncing from my computer (Sierra 10.12) to my phone (iOS 10.0.2). A few days ago I updated this note via the desktop app, and just noticed last night that it hadn't updated on my phone. I checked that the app was up to date (it was) and I manually synced even though I have automatic sync set up. The note still would not update on my phone, even though the updated version was showing on the desktop app. I didn't check every single note I have, but other notes were updating properly. There were no weird characters in the title, the note isn't too big, and I hadn't reached my quota. Perhaps stupidly, I typed something into the phone version of the note to see if it would sync to the desktop app. It did, and reverted the desktop note back to the old version so I lost my updates. What I know from doing that is there was an issue with syncing from computer to phone only, and not vice versa. My biggest concern with this is that I happened to notice the note hadn't updated. But it's a possibility that this could happen again and I won't notice, and I'll alter the note on my phone, thereby losing all my updates on the desktop version. I hope this makes sense, and that someone can help. Is it ok/safe to post my activity log here? Thanks in advance.
  13. The syncing speed for the Evernote desktop app after migrated to GCP is slower than before. Is there any speed limit for user to sync with the server? Also, the connection with the server sometimes dropped. It happens every few days. Please advise what if the data transfer have limitation even for subscription users.
  14. How abouts removing the bugs from Evernote? So, like, when I THINK I saved a PDF it actually saves? Or basic functionality like being able to check the web version from an iPhone?
  15. So My Livescribe Wifi pen is dying a slow, painful death. I want to be able to hand write my notes on paper, add audio when necessary and have them, (hopefully), automatically sync to EN. What are my alternatives, if any, when my pen finally dies? I'm an Android user FYI. Thanks.
  16. The current implementation of Note Syncing in Evernote is equal parts briliant and scary-as-heck! Here's a few recent experiences and requests to improve this VITAL area of the product! 1) Sync/Search Titles First, then Content -- Not sure how many times I've logged into Evernote and used Search to look for a Note that I cannot find. Its usually either a note I created on another device, or one my wife made in a shared notebook. I can understand why it might take a while to appear (ie hasn't synced yet), but do not understand why it takes *that* long. Most modern cloud apps are way better at this! Solution: In most cloud apps (think Gmail for example), some form of light/quick syncing is used (think LDAP) to sync the titles of emails/content, and then a heavier sync is done once the actual email/content is accessed. And background syncing makes sure the list of titles is always as current as possible. In short, one should NEVER log into Evernote and not be able to find all of their notes listed by titles in the order they expect. That window of time should be minimized at all costs. In addition, if a Note exists, Search should always find it. Period! Or at the very least have a flag that says "Some of your Notes have not synced yet, would you like to start that")? In summary, the list of Notes should always be current, and searchable, that should be your goal. Research Gmail for a better way to implement sync via LDAP style headers. 2) Manage Conflicting Changes directly -- I had a freak out moment today when an entire page worth of notes I typed on the train could not be found. The Note I was editing had conflicting changes (ie I had accessed it on multiple devices, and offline on the train), but the way that Evernote resolved these conflicts was "interesting" to say the least. When I viewed my note in the office on my laptop after connecting to Wifi I saw a version from Dec-12th as the primary content (content from a week ago), with a section at the bottom flagged with Dec-15th Conflicting Changes (a few days ago). In the note history I could see changes from Dec 18th (yesterday), but the content from today / Dec 19th was nowhere to be found! So I researched this on Evernote.com and realized that on occasion Evernote will create a separate notebook called "Conflicting Changes" that will contain other changes not placed directly into the note itself. WTF? Solution: Why do you have so many methods for managing conflicting changes? You really only need one. And why on earth don't you have a feature IN THE NOTE itself that allows you to manage all of the conflicts in a centralized way. Why spread this out into a bunch of different places and hope the user figures it out? Not to mention the layering problems with Paid vs. Free users, or Mac vs. PC, who each get a different experience. Please add a single feature in the note that says "This note has conflicting changes, please click here to manage". Simple. btw This Support Note from your website says it all: https://help.evernote.com/hc/en-us/articles/208314448-How-to-recover-missing-notes ("If you are this...", "If you can't...", "If you are on a Mac", etc, etc) This is a nightmare. You could reduce this page to a single paragraph with a better implemented feature. Lastly, I love Evernote. Use it every single day. So please take this feedback as constructive. As mentioned above, I know multi-device / offline syncing is hard (I was a PM for a desktop database app), but many modern apps have this stuff nailed. There are better ways, and I'd love you more for adding them!!
  17. The folder "for Reymond" is not being synced from my evernote, It had been created a week before but all emails ( 250 ) are not showing up in other evernote device or web version.
  18. After deleting one duplicated tag (resulting from syncing error) on my computer A and syncing on both computers (A and B), the notes lost that tag, and the tag and the duplicated one disappear simutaneously on my computer B, which really frustrates me since I could no longer pick these notes out with the tag QAQ How to recover the tag for those notes? Many thanks
  19. I am adjusting my Evernote usage pattern and on certain devices I will need just a single daily sync at a specific time of day. What time does the default automatic daily sync run? How do I adjust this? Thanks!
  20. Evernote is a wonderful platform, but I have a concern and I am sure I am not alone. I want to use Evernote for managing all sorts of information related to work projects, but I want to have the ability to export them to a desktop folder to use elsewhere if I want to. As far as I can tell, Evernote supports exports in PDF and HTML, but this is not very useful to me. I would like to be able to export to .doc or .txt so I can use my data outside of Evernote if I ever choose to. Right now it seems that content is basically trapped in Evernote's ecosystem forever. Please tell me I am wrong.
  21. Hello, I'm an Evernote Premium user, I use Noteshelf in iPad everyday and I have a lot of notebooks created with that App. From 3 days ago, sync failed, and this message appears in Noteshelf: "Sync failed with reason: Rate limit reached." If you visit the link below, Noteshelf explains: "Rate Limit ReachedEvernote server accepts only a certain number of requests from each user per hour. If you hit this hourly limit, you have to wait another hour to resume sync. If this is the error message you are seeing, just ignore it as the sync will automatically resume after some time." http://noteshelf-support.fluidtouch.biz/hc/en-us/articles/214847438-Common-Evernote-Sync-Error Can anyone help me with that? Thanks in advance for your help. Jam
  22. This has gotten really bad and I have followed all the suggestions ->restarts, purged trash folder, reinstall (with restart) Its just won't stop happening. Whats going on ? Is this happening to anyone else ? Man I cannot deal with this. I hate to say it but I am thinking about going over to Google Keep. WTF !?!
  23. Hello, I'm a relatively new Premium Evernote User. Recently, I tried accessing some of my PDF documents I added to Evernote from my Windows desktop application. I can read and access the PDF documents just fine on the Windows platform. (picture 1) However, when I go to the same notes on my iPhone 5s there is a "placeholder" with an instruction to download the PDF file (picture 2). {See Pictures} My question, is the way the Evernote Application with PDF's is suppose to behave? If I download the same PDF file to my iTunes file, I can at least read the PDF file in my iBooks reader after syncing the device. Any help on "how Evernote works with PDF's to the iphone" will be helpful. Thanks
  24. Hello, I have a bone to pick with you, Evernote team: three times now, a big document that my partner has created in Evernote which she's shared with me has been obliterated by Evernote's terrible "Conflicting modification" idiocy, totally nonsensically. The previous time it happened, there were a whopping twenty one spurious conflicts - it took over an hour to sort through each one and manually merge the changes. This involves first being on the ball enough to spot the well-hidden "Conflicting modification" text at the end of the document, then manually scrolling through the thing looking for the "Conflicting modification" titles, and copying out the content between that and the next one into a new note, then scrolling through each and comparing side by side: twenty one times. It's happened again today with a different document, with six different conflicts, dated from weeks ago, for no apparent reason. Of course, we take great care to have one of us sync first and close a shared note before the other opens it, and still this happens. We've since taken to using offline notebooks for now, which means we can't collaborate on check-lists and such, because this bug renders Evernote utterly unusable, and unable to be trusted unless it's offline. This, of course, defeats the purpose of Evernote - we might as well use Pages documents. I can't believe this abysmal piece of work made it through QA; those responsible really should not be working in technology, surely. Anyone else having their data wiped out by this *****? We shouldn't have to put up with this nonsense from you, Evernote! Do you guys even use your own product?! Appalled.
  25. I use the Evernote list widget, and frequently I will save a note using my pc... And then immediately look to open that note on my android. The refresh rate of the widget isn't going to be short enough to catch this change, so I wind up having to open the whole app, and ask it to sync... Instead of just pulling the list down, when it's already at the top, as a means of asking for a sync. (many apps and browsers use this convention) I would love it if Evernote could implement this seeming small but powerful change. Thanks for the wonderful app!
