  1. I have been using Evernote for eight or nine years. Currently using 6.1 Plus on my laptop with Chrome browser (seems irrelevant). Every time I turn around it seems that with each revision something significant has changed. Many notes from my Android phone contain only a URL. There was a "Go to Source" item in one Windows menu or another, right? Even at 74 I'm sure I'm not demented. Where is it now?
  2. Does evernote know or track 'how' a note was created? The idea is to distinguish between notes that I have 'typed' (which tend to be more succinct and relevant in many situations vs. notes that are more catch all - i.e. email threads...(I use evernote as a catch all bucket and end up throwing any emails in that might be useful in the future). I would love to search for a specific string but ask that the results returned EXCLUDE anything that was forwarded in. Even more granular...search or exclude anything that has been 'cut and pasted' Hope that makes sense!
  3. SOLVED: Answer: search for sourceurl. This provides all the results I needed: sourceurl:file://C:\Users\Me\Documents* I didn't know there was a sourceurl field. _________________________________________________________________________ How can I find the notes that have files on my drive as a source? There doesn't seem to be a way to search specifically for "files on drive" sort of thing, so to get around that I figured I would try searching for a string in the source field, but that doesn't seem to work either. I want to find all notes that have my hard drive in the source field (e.g., file://C:\Users\Me\Documents\Aioli.txt or just C:\Users\Me\Documents\Aioli.txt). The first thing I did was to see if I could select "source" as a column in list view, to give me an idea of what to search for. (View > List View, then right-click on column headers and select "Source" and "Source App". I see things like "Clearly", "web.clip", "apps.ms.outlook" but any of the notes that come from my desktop computer have a blank source. So I figured all that is left is to search for strings that are found within the source. I have tried all of the following: file://C:\ but this returns too many files including those that do not have this in the source.//C:\Users same thing - too many hitsc:\users* also works in the same wayBut the minute I add source: in front of any of these searches, I get no results. source:File://Csource://*source:c:\* I looked to my favourite resource for search grammar (https://dev.evernote.com/doc/articles/search_grammar.php) but it pretty much says to search for anything that can be displayed in the "source" or "Source App" columns in List View.
  4. I have a Fujitsu ScanSnap S1300 with my iMac and scan a lot of documents directly into Evernote. I noticed that when searching notes in Evernote for Mac it allows me to search on Source=ScanSnap, but this returns zero results. If I instead search on source=Desktop, all the ScanSnap scans are found. But unfortunately this is also mixed with all the "handwritten" notes I've created within the desktop app, which is undesirable. Is it somehow configurable or fixable that scans from my scansnap scanner to Evernote for Mac can be correctly tagged with source=scansnap, or identified in any other metadata/search way?
  5. Hi everybody, I am newbie user of Evernote and facing an unfamiliar problem. Here I would like to ask the way how to add the item of "source" and "author in Evernote for Android? By the way, Evernote is really useful product. Thank you in advance!
  6. I am trying to search within my over 10,000 notes for notes from a particular url/source. I would like to search for things that contain a particular word and DO NOT CONTAIN/do not come from a particular url heading, ie "facebook.com". Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!
