  1. I'm studying computer science and I have a strong passion for user experience/interface design. I haven't been the biggest fan of Evernote and I've realized that it comes down to a few pretty simple issues that I feel would enhance the usability of Evernote for many people, including myself. Don't get me wrong, I really appreciate what Evernote does and the quality/reliability. However, I would love to see it improve in the following 4 main ways (in order of importance in my opinion): 1. Have a "Sort by" setting for each notebook so that it can be sorted by things like the date they were created/last edited (or user's chosen order). 2. Have a quick and easy list entry (comparable to Google Keep) 3. Change the reminders...I feel they should be a separate thing within evernote (possibly displayed on a calendar style layout) with a note attached to them (rather than the reminder attaching to the note). I would also like the option to have a recurring reminder. 4. Allow for a larger hierarchy of notebooks for better organization beyond two layers (good for OCD people like myself) A point of lesser importance: I would also love to see one or more alternative layouts/color schemes available if possible...I feel this makes a big difference to potential users. Perhaps take some inspiration from EverMemo or Google Keep.
  2. When I try to upload a file and I use the attach files button, I get to a windows explorer window that is automatically sorted by name and I cannot resort by date. Can you please tell me how to do that?
  3. It would be great if you had the option to arrange notes in whatever order you liked by dragging them to the desired position in the list For example, you might want to temporarily drag a note to the top, because it is high priority Being able to sort and group notes is a very natural thing to do Any hope we might get option that someday?
  4. If I merge notes, the top note becomes the top note in the merged note. If I have several notes that are in Evernote in a sequence by date, and I merge them, the last note becomes the top note because the notes are sorted most recent first. I have no problem with changing the sort order to make the note order correct before merging the notes, but could someone please consider adding a feature for merging notes that will show a pop-up window that will let us choose the order of the notes being merged? That would be a nice feature.
  5. I've been all through the Window 7 client and can't seem to find the Sort menu referred to in the help files. Is there one in the Windows 7 client and if so where do I find it?
  6. Hi Everyone, My notes default sort according to last edited. In the forum I see references to changing the sort order under the "Note" list on the toolbar. Unfortunately I don't see any way to change the sort order, either there or anywhere else. Changing the subject name in the note doesn't help. Do I need a Premium Account? Is this a problem with the Mac version? Any ideas would sure be appreciated. Thanks!
  7. I have the free version and notice that there is a 'sort' menu item that is grayed out. If I update to Premium, will I be able to sort notes in alphabetical order? This is the main reason I would upgrade, so I want to make sure I will be able to do it. thanks
  8. Hey everyone, I'm having an interesting issue with my Windows version of Evernote. On the web version, every time I go to the site, it has my notes sorted by Title (which I like). However, after I restart my computer, the Windows version switches to sorting by Created Date, and I have to manually change it to sort by Title every time. I checked in the settings and I can't figure out how to make that stick. Any ideas? Thanks!
  9. Hi there Why Evernote for Windows 8 still doesn't remember when I change that "Sort by"????? There are couple of things that Evernote for Win8 is missing and I really don't get why.....
  10. I'm a new premium subscriber and have a question about the sorting of notes. One of the options is to sort "Notes by Subject". I'm sure I must being missing something obvious but where or what is this the subject? I've tried sorting by it and still can't tell.
  11. Hello all: New to the program but really like it so far. I am very interested in the GeoMap and Tagging ability of the software. Is there a way set visual filters on the map page? For example I want to create notebooks that represent customers. I have different classifications of customers, so I would like to be able to have the ability to display in different colored flags to display specific "notebooks" i.e.. customers. For example I have nursing schools as one customer, and I also have hospitals as another and fire departments as a third. I would like to be able to see one, two or all three sets of flags on the map and have them different colors for differentation. My rationale is that I may be calling or planning on one customer or customer set but at some point I may want to bring in another group that might be in the area. If I have a very high concentration of one group, the map could get very cluttered and this is a way to help organize it. Anyways if anyone knows if this can be done, or something like this I would greatly appreciate it!
  12. Here's an example Evernote sorts notes like this: 1. Note titled with 2012.12.05 00:40 2. Note titled with 2012.12.05 23:07 3. Note titled with 2012.12.05 10:48 I expect it sort notes like this: 1. Note titled with 2012.12.05 00:40 2. Note titled with 2012.12.05 10:48 3. Note titled with 2012.12.05 23:07 It puts 00:40 before 23:07 which makes sense since 00:40 is a smaller number than 23:07. But why does it put 23:07 before 10:48 then?
動作環境: Windows 8 Enterprise/Professional x64 日本語版 (RTM) MS-IME2012 Evernote Version 4.5.8.7356
  14. Hi, When I open the Evernote app (Mac, iOS), all i see are my 633 notes right there in the middle of the screen. The notebooks and stacks are organized on the left navigation bar. I'd love to open the App and see my notebooks and then, select the one I want to open. Same with stacks. And, would be great to assign a cover to each notebook and stack, kind of a theme for each. I'm looking for a way to easily and visually classify all of my notes in their notebooks and stacks. Can I do all this? Thanks!
  15. Is there a way to make notes within a Shared notebook sort by something other than the Date Created, newest first? On my desktop Evernote software, I can click the "Notes by" drop down list and choose other sort criteria like Title or Updated and it sticks. But when I share this same notebook with another person (via email link), that person gets the Snippet view by Date Created. Period. Life doesn't happen in an orderly fashion so what the other person sees is a complete jumble without any order. They also don't know what Tags I may or may not have added so unless they are already a diehard Evernote user they wouldn't even know to use the Tag search. I'm also not very good about remembering to add tags. Add me to the list of people who wishes Evernote had a subfolder feature. In the mean time, for this shared Notebook, I finally created a Table of Contents page where I used the Copy Notes Link feature to create a linked outline of everything in the Notebook. A lot of extra work for me. But then after doing all that, when I add new notes, the Table of Contents slides down into the data abyss to be found only by persistence or chance because the newly created notes default to the top of the Shared list. I've also looked for ways of altering the creation date for the TOC note to trick it into being a date in the future but couldn't find a way to change the date. So far the only Shared Notebook order solution that I can see is to either plan ahead and make the TOC note first (I didn't know I would be sharing this one until two months into the project), assuming the sort order can be change to oldest first (doubtful, if the other sort functions don't translate to the Shared version), or re-create my TOC note after each time I add another new note in the Notebook. not! Does anyone know how to make a Shared Notebook show up in some other order than Date Created order for the outside viewers?
  16. Is there a way to sort by columns in a table? If not, that'd be a very handy tool to add. I don't need fancy table tools like pivots or formulas, but sorting would make using the table for more than basic cosmetic organization of data more useful. I can't even select a column - dragging down a column selects the rows to the right as well. I'm using the desktop app on both Mac and Windows, as well as iOS app.
