  1. while I like the save to twitter, I was wondering if there are plans it save skitch files directly to Facebook and Yammer
  2. As I recall, "Skitch Help" (in the gear menu) in the pre-Evernote days opened a tutorial page on Skitch.com. These days, "Skitch Help" opens the Skitch home page in the Evernote site: http://www.evernote.com/skitch/ My SWAG is Skitch 1.0.7 is still trying to show the old Skitch.com page, which doesn't map to the new site. -- Ward
  3. Hello, I've been using Skitch for a couple of years, and find it great and useful. So much that I signed up for a subscription when it was not part of the Evernote service. In our specific case, I use it to post series of private design templates for my clients to review. I just found out a very disturbing statement in the Skitch licensing agreement. This statement is as follows: "Furthermore, by posting any Submission on the Service, submitting information to us, or in responding to questionnaires, you grant us a perpetual, non-exclusive, fully paid, royalty-free, irrevocable, sublicenseable, worldwide license and right to display, use, perform, reproduce, modify, distribute and create derivative works of the Submission or information submitted in any media, software, or technology of any kind now existing or developed in the future." The evernote terms, however are VERY different and underline the fact that the submitted work is not granted creative rights to the material: "Except for the limited license and other rights granted in these Terms of Service, you retain all of the rights you had in your Content before you submitted it; unless you elect to enable others to view or have access to the Content you submit to the Service, no one else should see your Content without your consent. Of course, if you do elect to publish and share any portion of your Content by placing it into one or more Shared Notebooks, then, in doing so, you are enabling each of those permitted users of the Evernote Service access to use, display, perform, distribute and modify your Content (subject to any understandings or agreements you and such users may work out without Evernote’s involvement)." As a design and communications firm whose work is paid to provide custom design and branding work for clients, I have to ask which policy you're applying, and if that makes you truly owners of the work that I designed for a private company. If the Skitch policy is the favored one, that would mean I have to immediately stop using Skitch as it'd violate a dozen NDA and likely put my own clients agreements in jeopardy. Thank you for clarifying, Stephan Tran
  4. I love Skitch on my iPad so much that I thought I'd try it on my Mac. Took me several minutes to work out how to crop (as opposed to seconds on the iPad app) and then took more time to work out how to save the image. I clicked "save" in the upper right corner and couldn't tell if anything happened. Then I clicked the "share" button and suddenly the image started uploading, but to where? I haven't logged into Skitch or Evernote. This made me panic as I was trying to edit a scan of a check I was trying to deposit to my bank via their website. The idea of a scanned check image floating around the interwebs does not make me happy. Finally, I worked out that to "save as" I had to click "export" in the file menu. Should there be a learning curve when using the same app on different platforms? I would think not.
  5. We've seen some intermittent problems with crashing when accessing the camera roll. This is an IOS 5 bug that is fixed when users upgrade their version of iOS and sync their device. This should be resolved by: 1. Syncing with iTunes 2. Launch photos 3. Launch camera and take a picture
  6. First of all, thanks for making this available (for FREE) on the iPad! However, I've downloaded it and installed it on my iPad 2 three times now, and each time it crashes immediately after the "allow location services" prompt. Killing the process and re-starting has resulted in the same results? Any ideas? I can't seem to get this to run. I've tried resetting (hard reset) on the iPad also (after it was installed), and no luck - same crash right as it starts up (I've yet to get to the splash/home screen - whatever it is.) Thanks in advance for any advice, Jon
  7. Many, many thanks for this great gift of Christmas !!! Best wishes for a happy Christmas and prosperous new year for the Evernote team!!
  8. I was always "zebs" on skitch and "zeb" on Evernote. I was happy to reclaim "zeb" when evernote acquired skitch. But the app was still uploading to "zebs". I just tried again to transfer and skitch keeps making new usernames instead of using "zeb" with my evernote account. How can I log in and share to skitch.com from the mac app with the skitch.com/zeb account I created with evernote? In my efforts to link my account, Skitch/Evernote has created 2 new accounts for me "e-zeb" and e_zeb". I just want to get back to "zeb". I own it, I just need to relink it. How can I?
  9. I'm an Evernote user for life. I have an enormous amount of respect for Phil Libin. But without at least some of these features I'll be using Slingshot. I actually suggest taking a look at it. It allows you to automatically upload to Imgur (completely free image hosting service, as one option...not the only one!) as a guest OR to an Imgur account (free or paid). Additionally, it gives you the option to automatically shorten the link with bit.ly. I'll check back in 6 months. I know you guys have priorities. Cheers, Drew
  10. I used to use Skitch to capture still pictures from DVDs and iTunes videos, which is something the default screenshot utility can't do (presumably for copyright reasons). It still works in Snow Leopard, but it's broken in Lion. Is this a new Lion thing that there's no way around, or is it a bug? I'm using the non-App-Store version of the app (currently on 1.0.7, but it was the same with previous versions).
  11. I often want to work with two photos at once, or paste something like clip art into a photo. It seems this would be a possible feature to add to Skitch. I can sort of fudge it now by opening both photos and then doing a screen grab of them, but only side-by-side.
  12. Hi all! We've heard a few times that teachers and other educators are using Skitch in the classroom. We'd love to know if you're using Skitch for teaching, and how! Keith
  13. Hi! I just took a screenshot of something that I wanted to share on facebook. Usually, when you share a link to a jpg-file, the image is shown right in the posting, not in this case: Is that a Facebook or Skitch related problem? Can anyone confirm this? Julius PS: Maybe a "Share on Facebook" feature wouldn't be a bad idea...
  14. I want to use skitch to view and annotate a pdf. I can open the pdf in skitch but I can't seem to get it to move to the next page of the pdf. It always just stays on the first page of the file. Here is why I want to do this - I want to use skitch as a live annotation tool when I record a screencast.
  15. Hello, I'm a longtime Evernote user and am very excited to start using Skitch. I downloaded Skitch.app from the Mac App Store, but I can't figure out how to use my Evernote credentials to log in with it. I can use them fine on the Skitch website, and have even begun uploading pictures. I cannot figure out how to use the same login information in the Skitch app. Whenever I give the app my username, it acts as though I'm trying to set up a new account, and if I click "Personalize ..." it acts like I'm trying to set up a new "anonymous" account. I'm guessing I have to wait for an update to the Skitch app. Or am I doing something wrong?
  16. On one of my Macs, I accidentally shared to Stitch rather than to Evernote. Now there's no way to have it share to Evernote. It's not one of the share options. I can share to Stitch, ftp, webdav, etc, but not to Evernote. Even deleting Stitch does not bring up the original dialog offering Evernote as an option. That was only there the first time. So now there's no way I can find to share to Evernote. Note that on my other Mac, I correctly picked Evernote, and sharing to Evernote works just fine. But not on the original Mac. Any ideas?
  17. Hi I have wasted a ton of time with logging in and filed a support ticket. I love Evernote and have been a premium subscriber for 16 months. I trust Evernote and use it and love it. re: Skitch - It just doesn't work at the moment at all. It really needs a fix, if it is to carry the Evernote brand name the log in is a mess (in the mac app) - in fact, the app looks amazing - but in many ways a lot of the usability needs redoing. It is just messy and wrong! you really need to rethink Skitch. it could be brilliant (and much of it already is) but the bad bits are really bad and need be redone. I have decided to hold off using this - but am totally confident that it will be improved in future versions. I look forward to the time when you guys make it work. (I do also use Little Snapper - that works but doesn't sync well meaning manually putting library on more than one mac) PS - money isn't a massive issue. I don't expect an ace service for free (I pay premium Evernote, and am happy to)
