  1. When editing a note, F2 will jump to the note's title. Is there a similar shortcut that takes you to the note's notebook or tag fields so that you can edit those without having to use the mouse to click on those fields? Similarly, is there a shortcut that will take you to the Reminder field? Edit: F3 jumps to tag field. Would be great to be able to keyboard shortcut my way over to the Reminder field.
  2. Hi, Is there any way to create a shortcut to a notebook on the desktop of my Mac? Employees from my business email me jpegs/pdfs of receipts and I like to drag them quickly to a folder directly on my desktop. Thanks!
  3. I use the "Copy Note Link" under my GTD - like system and use the "Copy Link Note" on many notes. It would be helpful to have a keyboard shortcut for the "Copy Note Link" and avoid the right-click then scroll down menu process.
  4. In development editors and environments II do not want Evernote responding to the shortcut keys I have defined in the Shortcuts section of the Evernote Preferences because I bind them within the application. Many applications that bind shortcuts that act outside of the application provide a mechanism for listing applications in which the shortcuts do not apply. I really need this feature to be added to Evernote, and I am very surprised it is not there already.
  5. Don't know if this is a Windows-only thing, but despite various "Ctrl+<x>" shortcuts in the desktop client, Duplicate Note doesn't have one. Now I use Templates quite extensively in a couple of notebooks, and the thing about templates is: you need to create a duplicate every time you use one. So instead of the painstaking mouse rightclick > Duplicate Note process I go through each time, I'd like a keyboard shortcut to generate a copy on the fly please - and maybe even an option to set the number of copies to more than one? My phone note & meeting processes will thank you. (Edit: and yes, I have thought about AHK and Phrase Express and am currently wearing that t-shirt; but still...)
  6. I'd like to be able to assign a keyboard shortcut to change the formatting (font, colour and size) of a piece of text. Currently, I am making notes on learning to code and use a lot of code snippets that I need to format differently to the rest of my text and it takes an age to always change the formatting. This could have plenty of other use cases that would make evernote a smoother application to work with
  7. I'm collecting TONS of web clips and I hate to move the mouse cursor to trigger that clipper button. Is there anyway to "hack" it? I need a keyboard shortcut in Safari, like "cmd+shift+c", so I could clip it without leaving my hands from keyboard. And better yet, we've got "BetterTouchTool" to map the keyboard shortcut to a touch gesture... Next time I could "three fingers swipe down" to clip a page, wouldn't that be GREAT????
  8. Can you please fix the Desktop Shortcut disappearing every time we update? This has been going on for years and it extremely annoying. Every-time we update Evernote, the desktop shortcut that we have in our taskbar disappears and a new one is created...but the new one doesn't show up on the desktop or the task bar...it only shows up in the Start menu. No other application does this. Please fix it...this is the most annoying thing about Evernote, and I have seriously considered switching to One Note because of it.
  9. Damn did this confuse me at first and then totally pissed me off. Don't know if it was just for me but binding [activate web clipper] to ['] is one of the worst ideas I've ever encountered. At first, I didn't know why Evernote was opening up and interrupting my web session. Then i realized whenever i write something, be in a comment on youtube, or a response on a forum I'd activate Evernote by writing [you're] or [I'll] containing the hotkey ['] It was an easy fix once I understood what the hell was going on and changed it to [Ctrl+'] , but If you know you can't reliably disable the hotkey in text boxes don't use such a widely used key for that... /rant out
  10. Hello brand new evernote user here. I was curious if there way a way for me to automatically have the font in a highlighted section converted to a certain type of font with a specific colour and size.I wonder if there is a way to assign a shortcut to say a specific font object and have it applied . Something like that would be a life saver for me.
  11. As a user, I use the shortcuts feature to track my active projects. Workflow is typically me creating a new note for whatever the project is and then dragging the note to the shortcut area. However, if I go and move the note to another notebook and apply tags, the shortcut is removed. I then have to go find the note and drag it back to the shortcut area. This behavior has actually caused me to forget to follow-up on some project tasks because, after doing some note clean-up, my shortcuts were removed from the list and I didn't notice. Since I rely on my shortcut list to remind me of my active projects, the missing project notes were overlooked. My feature request is for shortcuts to refer to the note itself and for it's shortcut link to be unaffected by moving the note to another notebook or change of tags. The shortcut would persist even if the note location is changed. Thank you!
  12. Evernote is awesome! Use it all the time for collecting research, notes, organization, the world, etc. I find myself creating to-do lists for the week all the time and personally love the strikethrough feature. But, to strikethrough text I have to highlight, right-click, hover, and select strikethrough. Why not, highlight and click the strikethrough? Or even better, highlight and cmd + k or some other shortcut to strikethrough. Strikethrough vs. checkbox is the new tabs vs. spaces; strikethrough is very visible and less prone to error; checkboxes can be unchecked with a single click and not as visible. - a grateful 'spaces' fan feature request sent ps - this textbox has strikethrough!
  13. I do Ctrl+N to create a new note. The cursor moves to the body of the note. The usual way I would (and I am guess a lot of people would think) is to put the subject of the note and *then* fill out the body. However, in evernote I have to put the body first, then there is a perceptible delay when evernote transfers the first line of the body into the subject, which is almost always not what I need Then I fill in the body and eventually grab the mouse go into the subject and change it. Is there a way to amke this more intuitive (at least to me) i.e. on Ctrl + N the cursor goes to the subject line first. Or is there a shortcut to go to the subject line *While* creating a new note. Unless the note is fully created and the subject is (wrongly) filled up automatically by Evernote, I can't use the tab keys to go into the subject.
  15. Have a shortcut as follows: notebook:"Action Pending" any: tag:1-Now -tag:* When I try to use the shortcut in Evernote Web, it gets translated as: notebook%3A"Action Pending" any%3A tag%3A1-Now -tag%3A* which obviously fails. I guess your QA team didn't try shortcuts in the Web version?
  16. I used to style text like gif1 shown below in Evernote v5 generation, with the help of AHK. In v6(in fact since v5.9.5.9380 with the improving of note editor), however, I tried, but still cannot make it work like before, like gif2 below show...It always add weird newline... Anyone can help me fix this? or have a better way to highlight and change color of text with one click? Here(L537~L557) is the source code. Really need help, headache for so long time. Thanks!!
  18. I need to access various specific notes from any of my Macs. I want to store them centrally to avoid duplicated data (which one is the 'original' problems) and access them easily, as needed. My need is by no means unique, as I discovered by searching the user groups and forum; yet no simple solution has arisen. It's true that some technically clever people can implement unique solutions for their own needs, but I, for one, lack those skills. I hope Evernote staff reads this forum because this posting is addressed to the Product Manager for the Mac OS software: It's up to you to prioritize requests and allocate internal resources to fix bugs, produce enhancements and provide functionality that should have reasonably been expected in the core product. If the solution were easy or obvious, you'd have done it by now; but since you already know it will take some analysis, programming and testing, and because you've heard this request over and over again, isn't it time you considered providing a solution? Thank you
  19. Evernote has become my second brain, and I rely on it daily to manage my GTD system. I love the desktop app for Mac OS; the keyboard shortcuts are very well thought-out and it makes it very quick to manage hundreds of notes. I've recently switched much of my work over to a Chromebook, and it's been really disappointing to try and use the Evernote Chrome Web app. It's clearly just a port of the Android software. I know there's been a couple feature requests so far for better Chrome support, but I just wanted to voice my support here again. Chrome OS is very much a growing platform and I hope that Evernote starts to take it seriously. As a second note, I would love to see keyboard shortcuts make their way to the web version of Evernote. I love the web app's minimalist interface. It's great for writing in a clean environment, but it's a pain to manage notes. Being able to select multiple notes and use keyboard shortcuts to tag them or move them between notebooks would make the web app so much more efficient. I hope these features are coming soon! If Evernote is already working on any of these, I hope someone can let us know here on the forums to put my mind at ease.
  20. Web app is great. It easily replaced the desktop app for me but the font in web app doesn't support all turkish characters. My other complain is about the shortcuts. I couldn't find changing it or turning it off, when I press ctrl+number to change tab, it changes the font size and it is the most disturbing thing about this web app to me. have a nice day
  21. Hello, With the Outlook client, it's an easy thing to create a desktop shortcut that opens a new email message window without having to start Outlook first. Does anyone here know of a similar capability for opening a new Evernote note? Thanks
  22. Hi all, I'm using the Evernote Web Clipper with Safari 8.0.7 and OS 10.10.4 on a Macbook Pro 2015. The problem is that I cannot disable the shortcut ` (the key in between L-SHIFT and 'z') that engages the Web Clipper on Safari. I have assigned it to something else (§), which also works, but can find no way of disabling the former. I wouldn't normally be bothered, but I use cmd+` to switch windows and Web Clipper frequently starts up unintentionally. Any help gratefully received! Cheers, Peter
  23. Hi, as stated in the subject the "List indent increase/decrease" keyboard shortcuts (TAB / TAB+SHIFT) don't work inside tables in Mac. I used them on both Mac/Windows but since I updated Mac Evernote to 6.0.10 they don't work anymore (Win version seems fine). Now when I press TAB/TAB+SHIFT the text cursor moves to the next cell of the table instead of increasing/decreasing the list indent. I hope you can sort it out. Thanks
  24. I know that entering the date in EN is done with Ctrl-semicolon. (Actually, it enters date and time. Is there a way to enter just the date without the time? If so, please let me know.) However, in all my MS Office apps, I enter the date by hitting Alt-N-D in sequence. It's a habit ingrained in me from years of usage. And I can't seem to break the habit of sometimes doing that in EN in an effort to enter the date. But doing that in EN deletes the Note. Is there a way to avoid that problem by somehow changing the way those keystrokes behave in EN at the user level? (Yes, I know it goes to Trash when it's deleted, but it's still unnerving when some of these Notes have a lot of valuable information and countless hours of work in them, and all my machines auto-sync.) Thanks! Jay
  25. Hello How can I change / deactivate the Evernote’s assigned function for the F5 key? I have remapped system wide the F5 key to act as Cmnd-C (Copy) using the keyboard shortcuts settings pane on OSX. It works great on other programs but in Evernote, even if the key is showed as mapped under the Edit menu, it just brings a list of spelling completion when I press it. Try it yourself: Write something like ser and press F5. It brings a list with all the choices the spell checker knows that start with those 3 letters (seriously, server, servers…). This F5 key / shortcut is not documented anywhere. Other keys I have mapped on the OSX settings work perfectly on Evernote: F6: Paste F4: Cut F3: Select All F2: Undo This arrangement is good for me because I use an external Logitech G15 keyboard with my mac and it has this keys on the left side for easy access. Attached you can see a screenshot of how it looks when I press F5 after writing ser: Hope someone can help me. Thank you.
