  1. Hello - I've got several shared notebooks where content is tagged. The tags appear to sync between my devices, and sync to the people with whom the notebook is shared. However, tags aren't working as expected. Here's the specific example: I've got a 54 notes tagged "cocktails". They're all in a notebook shared with my wife. We're both premium users. Here's what I see: In my Mac client, I can click Tag (in the home sidebar), double-click cocktails in the tag list, and all (54) of the notes tagged cocktails appear in a list. Good! Sync to my iPad. The word "cocktails" appears in the tags list. Touch Tags from the iPad home, touch "cocktails" in the tag list. I get a screen saying "No notes found. You don't have any notes tagged with 'cocktails'." (Which is, of course, untrue - see above.) (I've also tagged them by the base alcohol - gin, vodka, .... The same behavior appears when I try to find a cocktail using one of those tags, e.g. touching gin gives me a "no notes found") I even went to the trouble of deleting a tag from a cocktail, syncing all devices, re-adding the "cocktails" tag from the iPad, syncing across all devices, and trying to find the recipe via the tag. Still no joy. Note: I've COMPLETELY reset my environment. Re-installing Evernote on my iPad triggered an ENTIRE reset of my ipad. (I restored it to factory defaults, installed it as a "new iPad", and restored applications a few at a time - finishing with Evernote, and a full re-sync. Evernote didn't _really_ require this; but after my iPad got excruciatingly slow after my iOS 8 update, I decided a full reset was in order.) So, now I have: - iOS 8.0.2 freshly installed on my iPad (2) - Evernote 7.5.1.311939 And I can't get a list of all my cocktails via the tags. Is it me, or is this capability not available with (shared) notebooks in Evernote? If not supported, can I get tag-recall back by taking the notes out of a shared notebook? -jb
  2. Please add the ability for users of shared notebooks to add tags and for those tags to maintain the hierarchy. My business partner and I got set up with premium accounts and we would like to share a notebook of shared projects. Currently, only the owner can add tags, which greatly restricts the abilty to colaborate with using shared notebooks. If my partner wants to create a new project and add tags that I have not used yet, but do have in my account, she cannot. The reason we purchased the premium accounts was the abilit to share notebooks. I understand the logic to limit who has permission to add tags, but we should be able to give this permission to someone, especially if they are another premium user. Please add this so sharing of notebooks is a true full two way sharing.
  3. Hi, we using Evernote with 3 accounts. I could share a notebook with the others and on the desktop-accouts of the others it appears. The can work on it, perfect. But on the mobile devices (BB 10, iPhone 4S) the doesn't appears. The have only the privat notebooks on it, but not the shared. What I have to change, that the shared notebooks also appears on the mobiles? Thanks
  4. Hi, I am paying for the premium version of Evernote because I thought that it improved the sharing capability. However, I have a friend who has shared a notebook with me and yet I can't update or add notes. I see something indicating that the notebook is "read only". How does my friend change this so that I can add and modify notes? Thanks.
  5. I was looking to use Evernote partly as a collaborative mapping tool for a class. I thought that if students all share their geotagged notes (view only) with a communal class account, they would be able to view a map of the notes for the entire class. However, notes from shared notebooks do not show up on Atlas. Does anyone know if there is a way to do this?
  6. Hi, My supervisor and I both have premium accounts and have collaborated on several notebooks over the past few months. Since we are no longer using these notebooks as frequently, we are debating downgrading the accounts to free ones for the time being. However, I am concerned how this works with our shared notebooks. If I have added notes into her notebooks while on the premium account, will those notes continue to show up in the notebook? I just don't want to lose any of our information. Has anyone had experience with this? I've tried googling it but can't find any information about this specific issue. Thanks!
  7. I think that it would be really helpful and a time saver if you would add an update that would allow users who have had notebooks shared with them, to add tags to the notebooks. (Besides the ones that have already been added.) At least give the original creator of the notebook the option of if they want to allow users that they have shared notebooks with to add tags. Thanks
  8. I share one notebook with another, he shares a notebook with me. I have been using Evernote for about a year. Until recently, if I had 25 notes in the notebook I shared, it showed up for him as 25 notes. Now it shows as 25 notes in a shared notebook on my device, but on his device it comes up as 11 notes in the shared notebook and 14 in unsynced notes. The same thing is true for the notes he shared with me - on my device they show up as split between the shared notebook and unsynced notes. This never happened before - what caused some of the notes to be diverted into unsynced notes? How do I get them back into the shared notebook where I wanted them. I want them to sync - I don't want them to be unsynced
  9. Evernote is a great product that only gets better with time. The more notes you have in Evernote and the more you use Evernote at work the greater the benefits you will get. This forum probably already knows that. Evernote is an integral part of my work and a very essential tool that helps me manage my team and work. I recently wrote an article on my blog about 5 tips I have on using Evernote at work. In short, the 5 tips are: Share Evernote Notebooks (Premium Feature) Run 1:1 Meetings Using Reminders Create a Separate Notebook for Each Team Evernote at Work – Create Notes for Projects Scan Business Cards with Evernote (Premium)See my blog for details and please let me know your thoughts! 10. My wife and I share an Apple ID across our two phones. This makes things easier in a number of ways (ie not having to pay twice for apps we both use). We are very interested in sharing evernote lists (groceries, honey-do) but can only have one premium and one free account. We want create two premium Evernote accounts with the a shared Apple ID to maximize the sharing capabilities. Any ideas? Thanks, Randy
  11. i have lots of notebooks and lots of tags. When using EN for Windows I can hide unassigned tags when viewing a notebook. This greatly facilitates searching. However, when I try to search using the Android or Pad clients I find all of my tags listed even though the vast majority of them are not used in the notebook I'm searching. Having to scroll through hundreds of tags to select the tag I want to search for is too unwieldy for practical use. So, my question is whether it is possible to hide unassigned tags when accessing EN through the mobile clients, and if so, how? I find the same problem with notebooks I share. All of my tags appear in the the shared notebook although only a few of them are actually used. Generally, because of this problem, I find searching EN from a mobile client really frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.. Michael
  12. I would like to hide tags associated with shared notebooks. I had to remove all of my colleagues shared notebooks from my Evernote, because I couldn't find/use my own tags, which makes collaboration very difficult. If you see this mac thread, as of Sept 17, according to Evernote Employee Adjusting, there is an update coming. I'd like know if this update will be coming to the windows client as well, and when we can expect it.
  13. I feel like I've probably missed this in the discussions or documentation somewhere, it seems so basic. Every time I try to share a notebook from the desktop client I am sent to a web page that is just plain text with no graphics rendered, then when I enter a recipient email address and click "invite" on that page I seem to get one of two Evernote error pages entitled either "Unable to share this notebook" or: "Oops, we encountered an error Access denied. You have accessed a location on this server that is not available. You may need to Sign in to your account to access this page." Invites working fine via the browser-based version. Screenshot of unrendered web page attached. I'm on Mac OSX 10.7.5 with Chrome as my default browser.
  14. I share a notebook at work. Is there anyway to have a notification show up on the status bar of android or iPhones when note is created or updated in the shared notebook?
  15. I found the following problems using Evernote. Maybe my use is wrong, anyone there who can help me? Two accounts 1 premium, 1 standard want to share notebooks. Setting 4 notebooks in the premium account and shared to the standard account PROBLEM: 1) After sharing and updating the names of the notebooks don't match. 2) When one want's to change the NAME of a shared notebook, and the rights are set to, it will only change the name of that shared notebook in one's own account, in this case the STANDARD account. 2) Exporting notes from the STANDARD account to local computer is OK. PROBLEM: Importing that specific notes to a SHARED NOTEBOOK does;t work. The IMPORTED NOTES are placed in the STANDARD account
  16. I've shared one of my work-related notebooks with a coworker. This coworker remarked to me that he had received an email alerting him that a notebook 'self-development' (a personal notebook) had been unshared with him. I never shared this notebook with him, and certainly did not share or unshare any notebook accidentally. I use Evernote for both work and personal purposes. Under no circumstances should any of my sharees have an opportunity to know anything about notebooks that are not shared with them - not even a notebook name. This really shakes my confidence in Evernote to preserve my privacy when sharing content with others. Is this a known bug? Did Evernote accidentally assign him the wrong sharing privileges, then 'fix' the mistake? Thank you, Rebecca
  17. Hi, I joined a shared notebook and wish I hadn't because it is taking up some space that I don't really want it to. I would rather just read it online for now. I was wondering if I deleted the notebook if that would "un-join" or unsubscribe me, or are there other steps that I need to take? Basically I would like to revert back to having not joined a shared notebook, if that's possible. Thanks.
  18. I am struggling to understand how sharing information in Evernote is going to work for me. I know this has been covered in many other threads but I cannot find any specific references to my issues. Please feel free to point me in the right direction if you know of any relevant threads. My situation is as follows. My wife and I are both Evernote Premium users and have a number of shared notebooks however we cannot see how she can put notes into notebooks I have shared with her or vice versa. When I select a note in my inbox and look for any notebooks she has shared with me I cannot see them. Similarly she cannot see any notebooks I have shared with her. We also have issues with tags on shared notebooks. When I share notebooks with her she can see the tags in the note but these tags do not appear in her general tag list hence she is not able to search on them. In addition neither of us is able to add tags to notes in notebooks which have been shared with us. We both love Evernote for our own data but the collaboration features would seem to fall woefully short of that implied by the advertising blurb on the Evernote website. From what I have read I am not the only one who finds the Evernote sharing functionality bewildering to understand and very limiting. Any help on this is much appreciated. I have raised this with Evernote Support by my experience of the support team in the past has been somewhat frustrating.
  19. I have students joining Evernote and creating notebooks where they take notes and do assignments. The notebook is then shared with me so I can view their work. I have 104 students who have joined. Once I hit that number I haven't been able to join any other notebooks. The students set up the account, share the notebook, I open the email but every time I click on the "Open Shared Notebook" it responds with "failed to join notebook". Any ideas? Thanks.
  20. If I have a premium account I can have certain of my notebooks which I can allow others to share and edit. Correct? Can I control which notebooks they can see/read, which notebooks they can edit and which notebooks they cannot even know exist? In order for them to share and edit, do they have to have their own Evernote accounts? If so, do their Evernote accounts have to be Premium in order for them to edit the notebooks I allow them to edit?
  21. My co-worker and I both have free accounts. We have both invited each other to share notebooks. He can see mine. I can't see his - either in my app view or Web view. Is this a settings issue?
  22. Hello, I've shared several notebooks with other persons. One person must delete a note sometimes but unfortunately the person can't delete notes in the shared notebook even if the note has been created by that person. The only person that can delete notes is myself. Can somebody help please? Thanks! evernote-fan
  23. Hey Folks. How do you guys use shared notebooks? Anyone use them for Team Collaboration and Marketing?
  24. Hi. First time asking a question on this forum. I apologize if this is in the wrong place. I'd like to know if you only need to have your own account have a premium membership in order to have shared notebooks be editable by other users who don't have Evernote. The situation I am in is that I would like to be able to share documentation with an off-site customer of mine while we develop a product. It would be beneficial to share the development notes and also have the customer add to those same notes when they make changes on their end. I have an Evernote account (And I'm considering upgrading to Premium), but the customer does not. If I upgrade to the Premium and share a notebook to their e-mail address, will they be able to edit the documents I add to the notebook? Do they need to have an Evernote account as well? Would they have to also have a Premium account?
