  1. iPhone 8 iOS 11.31 / EN 8.12 Searching in ALL NOTES returns zero results. If i go back to the actual Notebook where the note is stored, a SEARCH IN "NOTEBOOK", it will return the correct result(s). it works fine on my iPad 11.3.1 / 8.12 it works fine on my Mac. 10.13.4 / 7.1.1 (Yes I did see there was an iOS update)
  2. Hello, the search function on my IOS devices does not work at all. Have Evernote professional. It works perfectly on Mac. Thanks a lot for help. BR Kaufi
  3. I know that Web clipper supports Google for suggestions from Evernote when searching the web, but I was wondering if it supports other search engines as DuckDuckGo. I recently switched to it due to privacy concerns, and I wish I could have that convenience of searching evernote too while doing web searches from DuckDuckGo
  4. Please return the "Atlas" functionality back to Evernote. And please add the ability to filter on the built-in search functionality. One of my primary uses of Evernote was to save location-based notes so that it was easy for me to map my travels and be reminded of where I went and what I did when I returned to a city.
  5. Hey team Evernote, As a sidetone it might be useful to include a way to send feedback from the app directly? It was not straightforward to find this channel. Anyhow I have always valued the way that your product handles search. Being able to search through images and old content especially since I've been accumulating a lot of content for the last 6-7 years using the service. But came across an annoying glitch, when doing a search which includes the title of a Notebook those results are not included. So for instance if I had a workbook that I called Renovation when doing a search for Renovation I would assume that the results would include all the notes that belong to that workbook. This seems to me like basic way search should work...probably missed a lot of other use cases. But for this specific example I find it quicker to search than go into a specific notebook. This is true for the desktop client and even more so for the app where a search that includes the workbook name doesn't even show up. A pretty common at least for me use case is wanting to find content related to for example renovation but not all my notes are included under the workbook renovation. Think that this would be a great improvement :)
  6. I have a notebook with 1850 relatively large notes. Entering search argument in search field bogs down to a crawl after three characters are entered
  7. I seriously need help with my search. I cannot search my old notes. (I tried to use note's title / tag / note text as a keyword but nothing worked). I never had this problem before. Although I'm not exactly sure what caused the problem, this problem occurred around the time I update Evernote to my latest version - Version 6.13 (455673 Direct). FYI, I use OS X 10.11.6. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the app but no luck. Does anyone have to same issue? I guess it might due to an error in indexing of old notes. I'd really appreciate if anyone could guide me on how to solve the problem. I have a few thousands of notes in my Evernote and inability to search them is a real pain in the neck. Thank you very much. I just found another post about the search issue. It suggests that I troubleshooting with "Recreate Full Text Search Index". However, I couldn't find the troubleshooting on my menu. Weird! See the attached photo for details. Does anyone know where to find it?
  8. When inputting a argument into the search field, search commences before complete argument is input. For notebooks that have many notes (in my notebook that number is over 1,800) this slows down entry to a crawl. My workaround is to create the entire search outside of Evernote and then "cut and paste" the entire search argument into the search field. What is needed is a setting that would hold back invoking the search until the entire argument is input and the user leaves the field or presses Enter.
  9. I greatly appreciate the expanded suggested search terms displayed in the search info dialog box. In the Windows client, the text in the Search Info isn't selectable. I've been screen-clipping them. Consider the option to select <Search Info Note> from within the Search Info box and have a new note generated detailing the valuable information returned during these searches that helps document the thought process as well as Evernote's contributions to that process.... Best regards,
  10. Oh my search tags are missing. My Internet has been out so I spent some time off-line setting up tags in Evernote and then tagging all my notes. I went out today and connected to Wi-Fi in my car and didn’t think about it if yours later I tried to make a note and add some tags and all the tags are missing. Not only that, some of the notes I tagged we’re missing also. Oh my search tags are missing. 11. I know this has been mentioned before, but I think it's worth posting again. It would be really useful and a better UX if searches included tag hierarchy. Or at the very least gave users an option to enable a hierarchical search of tags. For example given three tags where apple and banana are children of fruit: > fruit > apple > banana I add two notes, and tag one apple and the other one banana. Currently if I search 'tag:fruit' nothing is returned, but that is not intuitive given that I've organised my tags hierarchically. What I believe is more natural, is if I search 'tag:fruit' thej it should return anything tagged fruit, apple, or banana. Thanks!
  12. Can Evernote (Web) improve the tag search function, such as multi tag search allowed? Because it does not allow to create multi branch under an notebook, it just allow to make multi tag of the note for categorization! How can find if there are thousands of notes under an notebook. Raindrop.io, DIIGO also has such function. So, please kindly consider that.
  13. Why is Evernote the only database I've ever seen that does not allow the user to conduct literal searches? Here are two searches: 1) single mom; 2) "single mom" As far as I know, I have one note out of my 9,000 notes that contains the exact two-word combination "single mom," but Evernote will not permit me to look it up. Both searches return 254 notes. Why? On every other database system I've ever seen, I could find that one note I want in a second. With Evernote, it's really not possible at all. Why do they prevent users from conducting literal searches?? I've been asking this for years, and the only response I get back from Evernote is "we don't allow users to conduct literal searches." Why?! Isn't the ability to look up the notes I want what Evernote is supposed to be all about? Another example, I have probably 3 notes out of 9,000 that contain the phrase "cool with that" but Evernote won't let me look them up. Because even though I put "Cool with that" in quotes, Evernote has decided that the user (me) doesn't really want to see the exact phrase that the user put in quotes but rather he just wants to see all 274 notes (in my case) that contain the word cool. The stop words are removed, even though I'm trying to conduct a literal search. Look I can write a long post about why literal search is important to users, but should I really have to explain this? Isn't it good enough that everything from Google to every database system I've ever used allows literal search? Isn't it good enough that users have come to expect a literal search every time they put a search term in quotes, and that it's been this way from the beginning of computer database systems until today? Why on earth would Evernote think it makes sense to take away from users something they have always used and know from every platform outside of Evernote?
  14. Recently I was trying to search for some exact phrases somewhere in my 8000 notes -- a phrase that starts with general words is fine (i can find notes that have the phrase "object oriented" by just searching "object oriented"), but if the phrase starts with a preposition, like, "in the bank", or "the bank", it totally fails. Any tips for full-text searching for phrases that have prepositions? Best, Samantha Have looked at these threads and seems there's nothing, but maybe a new fix was created?
  15. I’m trying to find a good notes app that would work with general search in Emui 8 by Huawei, it is a search bar that pops when you swipe down. In the settings it says that Evernote should work , but at least with the basic subscription it doesnt. Could anyone confirm that it works with premium subscription or how else could I make it to work? thanks a lot!
  16. When I type in the first few characters of an existing folder (to tell Evernote where to file a note), and I type in lower case looking for a folder, folder names beginning with an uppercase letter don't show up. Say I'm saving an article to my Marketing folder. If I type in marketing, Evernote tells me I don't have a folder with that name. Feels like 1998 instead of 2018. Fix it.
  17. Hi, I have the professional membership of Evernote. Could you restore the function that can search notebook in the "web clipper"? I think it's waste a lot of time to pull down menu when we without that function.
  18. Steps to reproduce: Search for a keyword with the search bar (do not delete the search term afterwards) Open a note containing it and start editing it Once you delete the sentence containing the term, the list of notes containing the term is refreshed and the note you were writing in is gone This is annoying as it interrupted my editing. Please make it so it does not close the note you are actively writing it.
  19. I have a hard time finding stuff in Evernote. Like today, searching for pizza, I didn't find anything, because the actual note was called Pepperonipizza, in one word. Evernote can't even handle partial searching. Things like this, partial searching, regular expressions and boolean expressions; do you think Evernote ever will have this capability? I was so happy when I found evernote, but this is really killing my enthusiasm, cause I cannot possible store all my content here if I can't even find what I put in there. So, the general question is, do you think advanced searching will ever come to this app or is there any chatter about it?
  20. Hi, I would like to кnow if there is an option to change the search priority of Evernote? For example when I search for "dog" I would expect on the top of the search results to see: first notes with "dog" in their titles than the ones with "dog" in tags "dog" in text and the most opened notes "dog" with most recently updated notes other "dog" Quite often I put some key words in the title of my notes. And in order to find them quickly I type "intitle: dog". Yet, this just slows me down and not very fast to type in on your phone for example. If I don't use "intitle" the search engine of Evernote is putting the note witch has "dog" in the title some where down the list. Thank you, Emil
  21. The search feature appears to be fairly flakey, often not including notes that definitely have the tags that are in the search. Immediately verifiable by visiting the note directly straight after the search. Steps to reproduce are a waste if time as it is not specific just occasionally but undoubtedly happens. Especially occurs after a recent note created, maybe search results are not being refreshed. Is this a known problem? Is there a workaround / recommended method of use to mitigate? Should we just never trust the search feature and so essentially not use it?
  22. Search isn't working in my Evernote. I'll search for something that I know is in Evernote, but Evernote will return 0 results. See the video for an example using the search term "Revenaugh": https://www.dropbox.com/s/shpc9roh4lq8rkk/Evernote search issue.mov?dl=0 Any ideas? I'm using Version 6.13.1 (455786 App Store) on Mac OSX 10.12.6
  23. I want Evernote to maintain a search index of my pdfs even when some of them are stored elsewhere. Evernote already makes the pdf searchable; I just want it to keep that information after I save the pdf elsewhere and create a link to it. Why? The windows exb database file gets too large and unwieldy on Windows, and I'm guessing that is partly because it includes all attachments. I don't need all my pdfs to be "in evernote" - in fact I would prefer to leave them in google drive or somewhere else if it could help reduce my database size. I keep them in Evernote because of the search functionality - that is all I need from Evernote. How it might work? In an ideal world, I could point Evernote to a folder where I store all my woodworking pdfs (laptop or google drive), it could create a note for each one with a link to the pdf, and voila - I search for "bunk beds" and Evernote lists all relevant notes, including those that have the link to the attachment. I would be happy even if I had to manually create a note, enter pdf, have evernote do its search indexing, save the pdf elsewhere, add the link to it in the note, then remove the pdf from Evernote. As long as I got to keep the search information. Workarounds? There are workarounds, including using a separate account for the pdfs and sharing a folder, but they are workarounds and come with their own difficulties. But this is a wishlist item, and as such, I wish Evernote could save its search index for attachments I want to keep but don't want to keep within Evernote.
  24. One of the biggest advantages of Evernote is its note-optimized database. Because of that, I can find notes a lot easier than searching through a bunch of Word documents. Still, the search results could be better improved if displayed more in a browser-search-results-like-fashion. While notes can be quickly opened, some searches give many results and it can take time to open each one to find what you are looking for. Quick retrieval is one of the big benefits to the tool and effort should continue focusing on making this a killer feature.
  25. When I make a search on android phone, the results are highlighted in the notes, but when i search on my mac, there is no highlight... is this on purpose or did I miss smth ?
