  1. It seems that Evernote on iOS is not capable (anymore) of doing a multiple tag search without saving search patterns and using them. I cannot see any reason for this design decision since the power of the desktop Evernote Software derives from THAT very good multiple tag selection - thus allowing to search deep and exactly into a database. This is one of the major features which made me get the Premium account so that I can build a huge database but ever finding things I search for. This is why I started to fill in a lot of tags to make searches even better for me. The whole problem with not h
  2. I know EN does not try to be a word processor, nevertheless I think it would be very handy (in PC versions at least) to define text "styles". I have a number of text styles I use in my notes that involve a particular font, color, size, etc.. At the moment I have to select each piece of text within the note and repeatedly set the same font, color, size etc. in order to have consistent formatting. In the case of the font itself, this means having to scroll through a long list of fonts to find the one I want every time (usually Courier because I want fixed pitch on that section, but I don't
  3. It would be helpful if I can insert a table within a table. I am a student and Evernote has made note taking so much more organized. Evernote used to have this feature, however it has been disabled in updated versions of the program. If I can insert a table within another table, it will make my notes much more organized and easier to view.
  4. Is there a way (and if there isn't could you please feed this into your new features requests queue) to automate sorting of notes that land up in the default notebook into other notebooks according to title, tags and content. Please note that I am aware of the features of being able to put notebook names and tags in the subject line of an email and these are NOT suitable for my situation. I am also aware of IFTTT but cannot find any recipies that do what I need to do. At work I am working on anythign from 3 to 10 projects at a time. Each project has a unique 6 digit code. Whenever I se
  5. When will we ever get proper tables in Evernote? This should be core functionality which would dramatically improve the user experience with the product! Specific issues I'm fighting with include: - Unable to insert rows to a table created. Note: This is hit or miss at times. Usually works on mac more consistently- Unable to resize table columns on demand- Unable to color table rows/columns My Environment:Windows 5.8.8.7837 (275837) - PrimaryOS X 6.013 (451658 App Store) - Alternate Workarounds involving jumping between environments should not be acceptable as a workaround. No one wants
  6. The crux of the issue for me is that quitting is not logging out. This is not what I expect, it's counter-intuitive (and dangerous). The way Evernote seems to work, both on my Mac and iPhone, is that if I just quit Evernote, it’s not protected. Launching the app opens it up logged on, so anyone who gets onto my Mac or my iPhone also gets into my Evernote without having to log on. This is too easy an error to make (from a security point of view) and one which I’ve been making unknowingly for months. So, I think you might want to add an option to your app so that when quitting Evernote
  7. PLEASE Evernote-Team give us BETTER table editing! Table editing in Evernote for Mac is very limited and frustrating for daily use. CRITICAL Features:* Select entire Rows and Columns.* Rearrange (Copy / Paste) entire Rows and Columns in a table. (this is a real PAIN with a bigger table!)* Format selected Rows and Columns at the same time. (try to format an entire column with an identical background on lots of rows ...) Wishes:* Edit Default Cell Padding for all tables. (todays default takes a lot of space)* Would be great if tables could be defined like in HTML or Markup style.* Optionally def
  8. Hi there, new to Evernote. One of the most important things for me is the ability to export the data (for local backup) and import data should any problems arise. Thankfully Evernote has an export feature. However, I noticed that any imports lose the stack information and date note was created. Not retaining stacks I can live without but not having the created date is a huge problem for me (and I imagine other users). Some notes are so time specific (e.g first time your child speaks/does something significant) and not having that information can render the note useless. Is there a way E
  9. Previously when there were conflicting modifications in Evernote notes a duplicate note was created in separate "Conflicting changes" notebook. I've just noticed that this behaviour seems to have changed in newer versions and the conflicting content now occurs at the bottom of the note. So far I've found two notes in my library with conflicting modifications from back in January and February. I never received any notifications of these conflicts and the notes have since been edited so it's impossible to see what the original conflict was! Please, please, if there conflicting changes please giv
  10. Need the ability to NEST notes and notebooks; started abandoning Everynote as a result. Been using Evernote for a few years. Now using it heavily and tags aren't cutting it and wastes more time trying to organize and manage tags and stacks. Please do not respond explaining the benefits of tags, keywords, search, stacks. Keep the benefits of tags, keywords, search, stacks ~ just not at the expense of the nested hierarchy. No links to related articles, tutorials, demos, blogs on how to use tags and how to organize. ---- Keep the tags, but please allow nesting. Notebook and stacks, tags.
  11. I love the Penultimate app, it's a really great productivity app for me and with the Jot Script it's even better! However, the app lacks a few important (for me, at least) features. I'd like to get the chance to paste clean text into the app and then make notes of or on the pasted text. Another feature I miss isthe possibility to resize the text that I mark with the scissor tool (or whatever it's called).
  12. Adding word count to Evernote Android/iOS app will help Evernote keep users who would otherwise use other apps because of the lack of this simple yet essential feature on Evernote. All kinds of writers depend on this feature! Journalists, content writers, students with writing assignments, short story writers, novelists, and so on. Add word count to Evernote Android/iOS app please. It's 2015!
  13. I'm a frequent user of Evernote and like it because of it's simplicity. But table editing is a bit too minimalistic for making me happy.I would love to see improvements in the following areas. Critical Features:* Select entire Rows and Columns.* Copy and Paste entire Rows and Columns in same or different table. Nice to Have Features:* Show Cell Width as percentage while resizing them. (adjust width to the same size as in a different table)* Edit Default Cell Padding for all tables. (todays default takes a lot of space) Thanks a lot :-)
  14. When I create a new note I want the option, in the Mac client, to (1) put my typing cursor in the note body and (2) auto-fill the note title with the first line of note body text. I'm not asking for this to be default behavior; I just want it to be a Preferences option. You (EN devs) already know how to do this - the Windows client (maybe others too) already does it. And you (EN devs) even do it already for Mac, in notes created with the EN Helper menu icon. (But that's not a good enough workaround.) And I know there have been many other requests for this functionality - I searched the for
  15. I like that the notebook's snippet view has an image thumbnail (if image is loaded). But the image changes based on most recent upload? It would be great if you could determine and lock the image. Use case 1: I have a notebook for all of my clients, that has my discussion notes, crucial profile data, etc. I would like the thumbnail to be my clients' logos. Makes them easier to identify. Use case 2: Put profile picture of a contact. I have notebooks to keep notes on my clients and try to get familiar with them.
  16. I installed Evernote onto my iPad a while back. In order to prevent even the remote possibility of weird syncing changes, I only use the iPad as a note viewer. I never add/modify/delete from the iPad. To that effect, I think there should be a checkbox in the options of Evernote (Android/iOS/Windows/etc) that says, "View-only Mode". When this is turned on, notes are only downloaded from the Evernote servers, and no changes can be made from that installation without first unchecking "View-only Mode". (eg textboxes cannot be edited, no notes CRUD, tags, dates, everything). This would give peopl
  17. Mac apps that handle rich text usually have Copy Style / Paste Style commands. These allow you to copy just the style of selected text and then paste just the style onto selected text. For example: TextEdit, Notes, Mail. It would be great if you could add those to Evernote including their standard keyboard shortcuts: Copy Style (Command-Option-C) Paste Style (Command-Option-V) It is particularly frustrating to move from Notes, which supports those commands, to Evernote Mac, which currently does not. Thanks.
  18. Feature request - I'd love to see some kind of feature similar to InDesign's Paragraph and Character style functionality. I understand this might not be really considered as a good feature for Evernote in order to avoid feature bloating (too many features, leading to poor UX/UI), but in case isn't hasn't been considered, here it is! I was just writing out my notes for a speech, and I've been highlighting all the quotes from others I'm using in red, and at the end I wished I had done it in a different color, so now I have to go through one-by-one and change the colors. With Character stylin
  19. Why can't I search multiple tags at the same time? Please make this happen. It severely limits the functionality of EN.
  20. I'd like to have a different view style for stacks and notebooks, for example i'd like to see "card view" for recipes and "side list view" for news. Same for sorting, i'd like to sort "by name" recipes and sort "by update" news. Can you add view&sort options for each stacks&notebooks? Thank you
  21. This might seem minor but I use Chrome web clipper all day, every day, especially in Gmail. A minor annoyance is that while the notebook autocompletes, the tags do not. Per clip this is a minor annoyance but I use tags heavily and clip a lot, so this adds up to a lot of clicking that I'd rather avoid. Is there a way to do this now? If not, can I please request you to consider this feature? Thanks!
  22. I'd love to see Evernote add the ability to automatically generate a todo list based on all your unchecked checkboxes. There is currently the ability to search for unchecked checkboxes, and to save that search, and then to add that search as a Shortcut - this is all pretty awesome. The result of this is that I get a list of notebooks that include unchecked checkboxes - exactly what I'd expect from a search. What I'd like to see is Evernote automatically generate a "note" that contains, in one stream, all of the unchecked checkboxes in my notes in one view. Context would be critical - both
  23. One of the things I need Evernote for is keeping track of the books I am reviewing. While I use the "reminders" feature to help me plan out my review schedule, I really need a "due date" option. A reminder should remind me that something is coming due soon. The due date (obviously optional) would set a deadline for that item/task. Most importantly (for me) would then be the ability to see my notebook sorted by due date. Right now that's not an option and the only way to work around it is to use the reminders check list and as it to sort by reminder date. For my purposes, it's clunky. Which i
  24. I tend to keep a lot of PDF files in Evernote. I usually end up viewing them using Acrobat, b/c the Evernote PDF viewing capabilities are limited. Here are a few quick suggestions for some simple improvements that would make viewing PDF files a lot easier. Improve navigation between pages Moving between pages is awkward. You have to hit the arrows in the grey pop up window that says "Page 1 of 4593 pages" (uh, I have some seriously large PDF files) Make the PageUp and PageDown keys move one page backwards and forwards, respectively (as in Acrobat)Make the Mouse scroll button not only move wi
  25. Clipping web pages is a great feature, but it's now quite tedious to get back to the original page from within the note. The old interface provided a link to the page at the top of the note (which opened in a new tab), but now it's hidden in the note info. That wouldn't be too bad, but the URL is in a text box, meaning we can't click it to go to the page - it has to be manually copied and pasted into a new tab. Please add a faster way to get from a note to the original page! Steve.
