I've recently started to use Evernote to accomplish something I've wanted to do ever since I first read Robert A. Heinlein's Double Star -- create a Farleyfile. For those who don't recognize the term, the Farleyfile is named for FDR's campaign manager, James Farley. Farley kept a file on every person FDR met -- a file that included professional informaiton as well as personal details like name of spouse, children, and pets, favorite food and drink, personality, hobbies, history of previous meetings...really, anything. When FDR had a subsequent meeting with the same person, Farley would produce

I just read the book "Work Clean..." which explains the chef system of mise en place as a model for productivity and task management. I am thinking it could easily be implemented in Evernote and am curious if anyone has tried yet. There is an app specifically for this system, but I am determined not to use yet another app for task management.

It worked yesterday. Suddenly, it isn't. I haven't deliberately changed anything, and it still works with other software, just not Evernote, which is where I used it most. Does anyone have any idea what is going on and how to fix it? Thanks.

Hey Evernote community, I like to annotate PDF's using Evernote. It's simple and quick to load on a laptop but it is a different experience on an Android tablet/phone. For example, a 44mb PDF through Evernote can't be loaded on my Nexus 9, but it can on my Nexus 5. Although, the latter took about 5 minutes to load and it is quite hard to read on a phone as well, let alone annotate. I was wondering if: I should still consider using Evernote to annotate on Android if there is a way of optimising my experience; or if I should just switch to another method, i.e. Dropbox/Ad

For a couple of years now I have used Remember The Milk as my task manager of choice. My annual subscription is coming up for renewal shortly, so I wanted to see what other alternatives might be out there before I sign up for another year. The "killer feature" of RTM for me has been it's integration with Evernote Reminders. If I add a reminder to a note in EN, it automatically becomes a task in RTM. I find this incredibly useful if I want to mark a note for follow up or an action of some type in a few days or weeks. I did try Evernote for a little while as a task manager, but it was a bit

Sorry for the rude title but the auto completion feature is such a waste of time I'm tired with this feature (not only with Evernote desktop for mac). I've just lost 3 minutes trying to type in a surname correctly and I could'nt get rid of this stupid thing. I can't remember a sigle time where this feature actually helped me !!!!! What the hell are the evernote engineers doing ? Guys, grow up !

First of all, to those who provided feedback on my first video... thank you! Based on some of the suggestions, I re-recorded the intro video, along with new slides, here: http://youtu.be/hN1qwOBxeM8 Additionally, I have added a second video, describing the daily review process:http://youtu.be/e1OWs3b1atc I'm hoping to tackle the Weekly Reflection/Planning video this week. As always, feedback is welcomed.

Having tried GTD (even shelling out my own $ to attend Allen's training), Covey's Weekly Planning and Mark Forster's "systems, I decided to create my own system. So if you: Have a flexible schedule Don't jive with "next action" lists and pre-planned calendars Enjoy doing things moment by moment, but... Struggle with procrastination Give this a try! All I ask is that you provide feedback, ask questions, etc. Thanks!

Not satisfied with the general offerings a la GTD and other systems, I've spent the past couple of years cobbling together a new productivity system. The current iteration plays nicely with Evernote, but there's a few open loops that I'd like to get feedback on. Also, I'd be open to any suggestions to improve the overall system. So... if you interested in: journaling Covey's 7 productivity in general Evernote (obviously) Send me a PM

Hi there, I just started on evernote, I've created multiple notebooks, with seperate notes within. What I'm wondering is : within a notebook, where I've created multiple notes, can I create a new sub note from the note I'm in ? Many thanks for your help

I use a 15" laptop to watch webinars and use Evernote to take notes. I'd like to reduce box size for the Evernote note beyond it's usual size, because it takes up too much real estate on the screen and I can't see the webinar clearly because of it. Is there something I'm not thinking of here?

I'm relatively new to Evernote and I love it. It is a major part of my future. I'm so excited by it that I've even managed to get my wife and son to love it too. Now, I'm looking for ideas for the optimal structure of my notebooks and notes, do you have any ideas or suggestions on this? I want to use Evernote for everything in my life. Broadly, this is divided into Work and Home. Fortuitously, this fits with my Mac calendar too! Then there's my Personal life which includes my personal interests over and above my Home life which includes domestic stuff and family. Add to the

Hello, I was just looking to get some feedback from anyone who uses GTD and Evernote together, along with answering some general power user usability questions. I currently have it set up with notebooks and then create new notes for next actions and individual items. I'm curious if something like this really scales and also what everyone else has for actual amount of notes in their notebooks? For example: How many notes before it becomes really hard to use a notebook? I have 65 in my largest and 370 overall. I seems like it's already getting hard to use with this scale.

Chrome One Tab with Web Clipper is not working
Martin Schepperle posted a topic in Web Clipper Issues
Hi I'am using the One Tab Extension in Chrome to close and store my open Tab's. With this I can clean my Browser and open later the sites on the old site. With One Tab on one PC this is working very well. The problem is if I would like to access this site (See 1.png) I can't because its local. So I thougth the easyet way should be to use web clipper for storing this side. But the message (see 2.png) is popping up and its not working. May be because this site is locally? Do you have any idea how this could work or any other good inputs. Thanks and Regards Martin Sch -
Hi everyone, maybe some of you productivity experts can help me out. I'm working in the medical field and currently use my Macbook to check up on medical literature. It works like this: 1.) Find medical papers (PDF) and save them in an dropbox folder ("to-review"). 2.) Once a week I go through the new papers, and decide which ones to keep. 3.) The ones I want to keep get transferred to evernote with some parts copied out of them, summaries written in the note etc. Some notes on a broader topic also have more than one PDF in them (different guidelines, papers and so on).

I've been using Evernote for a few weeks now, going from a curious passer-by to a burgeoning power-user pretty quickly. I'm constantly surprised by the ways one can integrate other services, even ones that are not technically supported, with the Evernote suite. This is my biggest example, and I encourage others to give it a try! I bought a new printer a few days ago, an HP Envy 4500. I bought it exclusively to scan files into Evernote. Well, I came to find out that this printer (and most new HP Printers) have this service called E-Print. Basically, your printer gets its own e-mail address an

Hi Evernoters, I'm a church-based family worker who has been using Evernote since 2008. I use it to store meeting notes, logs of pastoral visits, sermon notes. I also have a resource library notebook of scans, notes, and web clippings on work related topics that, at the time of writing, contains over 1,200 entries. Despite this, I have never gotten my head around how to best use tags. I dabbled in the past but I ended up deleting them all in favour of a prefixing methodology. For example, meetings note titles always follow this format: YYYY MM DD Meeting: [Person/Reason (eg. Staff)
