  1. I was attempting to make a physical copy of several of my clipped articles for a presentation, but they were consistently cut off towards the bottom of the page, and sometimes images were cut through the middle to be split between pages. Is there a way to format the notes so that they fit appropriating onto a typical sheet of printing paper?
  2. I use Evernote for all my class notes, and I love it. But most of my classes go chapter by chapter, and I'd really like to divide each chapter in my notes. That way when I print, I'll have each chapter as its separate page. Similarly, I hate when one [bullet point] runs over to another page, I wish I could say if part of a paragraph/bulleted list gets pushed to a new page then put the whole para/list on that next page. Please let me know if there is any progress being made on this or if there are any workarounds! (The page break line does nothing for me)
  3. I have multiple notes with images, but when I try to print them, the span multiple pages. How do I fix this so that evernote will print the image on one page? It doesn't seem to have a hard time displaying the image all on one screen.
  4. When I print a note out, I like to list its 1) Title 2) Notebook it belongs to 3) Tags 4) Body of note As I am writing a book I would like to be able to merge a good number of note, bearing all the above information, and transfer them to a Word document so I can bring it to Staples and have it printed out. As it stands now, only the BODY of the note is transferred, it leaves off all other information. Is this possible? Or is there a way I can transfer the Evernote output (with all the above attributes) to a memory stick to have the printed out?
  5. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE can we have page numbering on printing a note. I have some long documents in Evernote and in WORD I would always include the document title in the header and have Page # of ## in the footer so if the pages get mixed I can always sort them out. Without this feature, I would normally have to reprint the whole document again! If not the page header then PLEASE at least give us the Page Numbers.
  6. So I was recently introduced to Evernote by my boss, and I'm loving it. There's a bit of a learning curve, but with most software there usually is. I've been using it for my work, my hobbies, and now I'm using it to take notes as the secretary of a couple of groups I'm a part of. I generally take my notes on Windows 7 PC I have with me, sync up and then I'll go home where I have an OS X machine. When I'm taking notes on the Windows box, everything looks so crisp and clean and well organized, same story when I go home to my mac. I went to print to a PDF so I could e-mail the meeting notes out to everyone on my Mac at home and the PDF looked just like I expected (WYSIWYG). I had to make a change to the minutes then redo the PDF on my Windows box later and was somewhat horrified to see the PDF generated was massively altered in a Dali-esque way. Text didn't line up with bullet points or check boxes. Underlined text was struck through instead, and tables weren't doing so well either, but it all looked ok on the screen still. Went home and looked on my Mac, and all was well again both on screen and PDF? Anyone know what's going on here? I really don't see it being a Windows vs. Mac thing as they both look the same on screen -- it has to be somewhere in the print rendering. Either way I suppose I can note in windows and always make sure to go back to home to print, but what a pain. I absolutely can not turn in something (professionally at least) that looks like an armature with some newsprint, scissors, and a glue stick put together a report -- that much is for sure. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong though in my ignorance. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
  7. Apologies if already logged and / or already available (!), but I would really like the option of printing a note from the web app.
  8. im trying to print something, and i just want it on one page, but i cant make that happen because theres a half a page of the "info" for the "document" on the top of the page. i cant figure out how to just print as i see it in my screen, without that info. all im trying to print is a few cliparts for my daughter's project (and i dont have any other doc program).
  9. In Evernote 6.1.2.2292 (302292 public), a note that would take 5 pages printed in the 12-point font it was created with is suddenly printing in a very small font, in 3 pages. A 1-page note printed in that version came out normally. Is this expected behavior, or a bug. (If expected, I'll need to transfer anything I want to print to a different program, because I don't seem to have any control over the print size.)
  10. Our office uses Evernote as a digital filing system, but we still have a fair amount of printing that we have to do. We have been experiencing two significant issues with the 6.0 update and I'm wondering if there is any workaround other users could recommend until (hopefully) Evernote fixes this. Problem #1 - We used to be able to print notes in batches. I could select multiple notes, hit Command + P and it would print the ones that were selected. Not true anymore. Now it will only allow us to print the first one selected in the batch. Problem #2 - The vast majority of our notes consist of a PDF attachment (e.g. invoices from vendors), and before the update we could reliably hit Command + P to print the note, and it would print the PDF just fine. As long as the rest of the note was blank, it would ONLY print the PDF, which is what we wanted. But, after 6.0, we kissed that handy feature goodbye. Now the print preview shows up as a blank page, and 1 of 1 pages, so you can print just the second page. When you go to print, however, it will give you a blank sheet, followed by the PDF. Our current workaround for this is to open the PDF in Preview and then print, but this takes considerably more time and is a more disjointed workflow. Anyone else frustrated with these problems? Have a solution that you can post here? Any help would be appreciated!
  11. Bad printing preview of common notes > bad printing results. Bad text formatting, very bad tables. See attachs (_1 orig, _2 print preview — real printing results are the same)
  12. I'd like to be able to print italics. It's not as glamorous as other requests, but it would be very useful. For example, every student who is keeping their reading notes in Evernote needs italics to cite journal and book titles. Every business looking at Evernote would require basic formatting. Those are two fairly big user groups right there, and there are likely others who would like italics, too. And, I think it fits well with the initiative that was started in 2013 and announced in Sept. 2015 to improve the editor. I think this is a new feature because you haven't supported italics since at least 2010. If you'd like to see other discussions about italics, please view these threads: Can you print italic text (9 Feb. 2016) Print & Font Problems (1 May 2013) Printing problems: font size, italics, and underlining (4 Dec. 2012) Printing Issue particularly Italics (31 Oct. 2012)
  13. I have a note that will take 27 pages to print. It starts from the end and prints the last 14 pages, then stops. Has done this repeatedly. I cannot print the first 13 pages since it ALWAYS prints entire note and stops at the same place. What am I doing wrong?
  14. Recently I've experienced some annoying issues with printing on the mac and presentation mode on both mac and iPad. The common thread on both platforms is that long lines of text are mishandled. When printing on the mac, long lines are not wrapped. Instead they are simply truncated. So a three line sentence is turns into a single line when printed, with the content truncated mid-word. On the mac, printing seems to have acquired an additional annoyance as well: font size appears to be ignored when printing. When I purposefully choose a large font, this is ignored when printing and I get arbitrarily sized small text when printing. Presentation mode on the mac behaves differently but not correctly when handling long text. Instead of simply truncating long lines, it does wrap the text but instead of word-wrapping, it indiscriminately wraps it mid-word. Presentation mode on the iPad is similar to the mac: long lines are not wrapped. Instead they are simply truncated. Part of this may the result of cutting text from other sources and pasting it into Evernote. On the other hand, shouldn't all this just work? Word-wrapping lines of text is really fundamental.
  15. Since I have updated my version of Evernote on Windows 7 to V 5.5.2.4187 highlighted text displays as highlighted but the highlight does not appear in print preview or in the printout of the note. I synced my notes and printed the same note from Evernote Version 5.5.2 (402634) on my MAC to the same printer and the highlights printed. They used to print from the Windows version too but not any more. I also believe that they did not print in the previous version of Evernote for Windows. Has anyone else noticed this problem? Has anyone discovered a work around for it. Has this been reported as an "official" problem to people who can do something about it? I'm afraid to update my MAC version now for fear that I will never be able to print highlighting on text ever again Bill
  16. I have a default font set at 14pt Helvetica Neueueueue (which I believe is the default for the program) and I created a note and set the note's font to 18pt. I then type in a bunch of text. When I try to print the note it cuts off the right side of the text. It's as if the right most words are removed. There are no words cut in half. If I select all the text and change it's font back to 14pt it prints fine. Does anyone have any idea what I might be doing wrong?
  17. Morning. When I convert a note containing tables and text it looks fine when I view it in Adobe but when I go to print it this is how it looks. I'm using mac but not sure if this is just a mac issue. I asked someone else to check it as well but she was using mac. It seems that the problem is to do with the scaling but I can't see where to stop that from happening. I am at least able to print the note to pdf in the meantime but if I share this converted PDF whenever anyone goes to print they will get this happening which is not good. Have reported a bug but wondered if anyone had seen this and fixed it themselves. cheers Helen
  18. Any word from Evernote on when or if they intend to fix the printing problem that's been going on for years now? Even with the new version that came out today, printing underlined or italicized text doesn't work from the Windows app. Underlines go through the text instead of under it, and italicized letters get cut off (see attached PDF printout), making it impossible to use the print feature to print notes you intend to actually use. Doesn't matter whether you print to a printer or PDF. (Printing from the web version is not a problem, though.) I'm a premium subscriber and use Evernote for both business and personal use. Although it's getting less and less frequent, I don't always have access to the internet, so printing from the web version is not always an option. I love Evernote, but not being able to print a usable note without an internet connection is getting to be a problem. Evernote.pdf
  19. Hi I'm running EN 6.0.12 and have a problem when printing notes. The problem is that long sentences gets cut off. In short, when printing, EN keeps everything in one line. The problem only seems to occur when working with bullet points. See image of a "printed" note (print -> save as PDF). What can I do to resolve this problem?
  20. Hi, I'm having some rather awkward problems with fonts. On occasion, it is useful for me to print a note or group of notes to PDF, but when I do so, I end up with a result like the attached image. The font used in this file is Times New Roman - a generic font there should be no problems with - though the issue is replicated with other fonts too. I have made sure that it is not my PDF printer that is the problem, as the same text is reproduced correctly when printed from another program such as MS Word. When I instead print a note to a piece of paper, the characters are not clipped in the manner seen in the accompanying image, though the print quality is noticeably inferior to printouts from other programs - typically, many of the words or lines are peculiarly slanted, like a drunken halfway between regular and italic. Although that is also annoying, I am more particularly concerned with the PDFs, as these are of greater importance to my methods of work, and the current problems make them either annoying to read or completely illegible.
  21. Slap me with a trout if this is in a FAQ somewhere. Having added a pdf as a note in EN, I find that the EN print function prints the first page only. I can browse the pdf from within EN, but cannot print beyond the first page, even if a subsequent page is currently being displayed. Feature or bug? How should I properly view the capabilities of the print function? Cheers.
  22. I am using Evernote 5.6.2, but this behavior actually started a few weeks ago. "Print Note" used to print my pdf's, but no longer -- just the words "pdf file"
  23. Hi, Been using Evernote for years. I take notes all over the place, usually format them and clean them up when I get back to the office, then print them to PDF (Acrobat XI). Each time I go to print (this has been happening over years, including two different laptops), anything that is underlined doesn't look quite right in the printout or PDF. The underline actually goes THROUGH the text more like a strikethrough. Attached is a sample from a note (some stuff blurred out). I appeal to the great wisdom of the ages (aka Internet) to help show me the error of my ways or give me a good workaround. Any ideas why this is happening? My notes end up looking somewhat unprofessional whenever I want to use the underline. Thanks, Chris
  24. When printing a note from Evernote I would love to be able to : Select which headers are printed, rather than just printing all or none. Change the layout of the page; specifically the margins, which are rather too large by default for my liking. If I'm remembering rightly, both of these things used to be possible when I used Evernote on Windows. Are they possible on Mac but I've just missed them somewhere?
  25. It would be helpful for me to have the option of printing either only the title or the full headers (which includes full date and location) when printing a note. Right now it seems that the only way to get the note title to print is by selecting the full header. While it makes the most sense to me to have this an option in the print dialog window, having it in the Evernote preferences would also suffice. Thanks, Mary Thompson.
