  1. Evernote 5.2 (premium) MacBook Pro - 10.8.3 Occasionally I need to print out a note (or email a printable pdf) I have created from the document camera - generally these were 8.5 x 11" when I captured them. When I choose print, the images do not size for 8.5 x 11 and there seems to be no easy scaling option. My only solution has been to open up each image individually in Preview, and then combine them in to one file. From there, I am able to print or email a PDF. Preview takes care of all the scaling for me. Can Evernote do this? Am I missing something? Is there a script or app that would allow me to do this? It is, as one could imagine, a huge waste of time for me. FYI: I understand why my images are not automatically printing to standard sized paper and that this might not be a feature one would want as a default. Also, I would appreciate it that folks would not use this thread to inform me that they never need to print or ask me why I need to Thanks in advance!! Bret
  2. Hello, I have searched for the answers to my issue and still cannot solve it. So here I am. I need to be able to print out my notes/ images to place in student files. In order to save both paper space and space in my files I want to put more than one note / image on a page. I read about merging notes which worked. But it still would print out each image on a separate paper. This particular note consisted of three separate images I had merged. I tried resizing the image through preview but that did not wk either. I have not been able to find where to change settings on my printer which probably would help also. When I open printer the options are there but cannot be altered. I am using OSX 10.8.3. thank you all,
  3. Is there some easy way to print my notes so that they don't print out on two pages when they should print on one page. I have an HP desk jet 3050 all in one and a MAC. I'm desperate for a solution!!
  4. Hello, I used to prepare notes inserting some snapshots of PDF files into them. Today, when I tried to print the notes it turned out that instead of an images I have a mark "PDF attachement" or something like that. How can I print my notes with these images included? Without that my notes become useless.... Thank you in advance for your help! -P.
  5. I am very new to this forum and I am sure this topic has been discussed many times but I just don't have the time to search for the answer. So I am hoping someone can answer me ASAP. I am a kindergarten teacher and I use Evernote to document the children at play. I take a picture of them doing something interesting, then I write my learning story below the picture (very fast, easy, and effective). I want to be able to print the whole document I have now created, but when I upload it to my computer only the pictures show up none of the text. We don't have wireless internet or wireless printer so I cant just print right from my ipad. I have to load it all up to my computer and print from there. Please help ??
  6. I have EN running on a Kindle Fire 1st Gen. For my other apps, when I want to print, I simply Share the page with my HP ePrint app, and it prints on my wireless HP printer. When I try that on EN, I get "File is empty or cannot be read" error message. Any tips? Thanks
  7. I found a bug and don't know where to report it. I am a premium account user and have tried to discuss this through chat with Evernote, but was booted after waiting in line for 15 minutes. Here's the issue: Printing photos taken with Evernote for iPad (printing using Evernote for Windows and Evernote online) Photos cut off in the middle of a picture and continue on a separate page instead of one photo per page. I have this issue with notes that begin with text, then the first photo is horizontal format. The following photos are usually an assortment of horizontal and vertical format. If the first photo is vertical, then there is no issue and it prints on picture per page. Any idea where the appropriate place to report this bug is?
  8. Hi, I'm having some rather awkward problems with fonts. On occasion, it is useful for me to print a note or group of notes to PDF, but when I do so, I end up with a result like the attached image. The font used in this file is Times New Roman - a generic font there should be no problems with - though the issue is replicated with other fonts too. I have made sure that it is not my PDF printer that is the problem, as the same text is reproduced correctly when printed from another program such as MS Word. When I instead print a note to a piece of paper, the characters are not clipped in the manner seen in the accompanying image, though the print quality is noticeably inferior to printouts from other programs - typically, many of the words or lines are peculiarly slanted, like a drunken halfway between regular and italic. Although that is also annoying, I am more particularly concerned with the PDFs, as these are of greater importance to my methods of work, and the current problems make them either annoying to read or completely illegible.
  9. Printing multiple notes on mac is broken. 1. select a few notes 2. hit command p print dialogue only shows the first note. if you continue to print (in my case i used print to pdf) it prints multiple pdfs instead of one with all the notes combined even worse, if you print with 4 pages to a sheet it just barfs an error and only prints the first one i wanted to print multiple pages to a sheet so i could use my notes like index cards and pin them across a board while working out a story line
  10. Hi there, I'm wondering how to print a pdf attachment from an evernote note? I have attached a several page pdf to a note but when I go to print, the preview says it's one page and there are only a couple lines on it, not my document. I've installed the latest version from the Evernote website but still get the same issue. Do I have to open the pdf in Acrobat first, then print? I can do that but it seems like a longer process and I have to change the icon inside the note to view as attachment first, then open it in acrobat, then print. Is there a faster way? I'm not very pleased with this new version of evernote. Just had to get that dig in. I was so happy with the previous version; it was a lot more user friendly. Sincerely, Annette
  11. Slap me with a trout if this is in a FAQ somewhere. Having added a pdf as a note in EN, I find that the EN print function prints the first page only. I can browse the pdf from within EN, but cannot print beyond the first page, even if a subsequent page is currently being displayed. Feature or bug? How should I properly view the capabilities of the print function? Cheers.
  12. Hello, I'm having problems trying to print a screenshot in my mac. When I go to my print option in Skitch it shows only part of the image, Is there any way to fit an image to the page? I'm having the same problem with evernote. Thank you.
  13. Hi see this Apple thread for context https://discussions.apple.com/message/20488178?ac_cid=op123456#20488178 Here's a copy of my OP for ease: Hi, wondering if there's anything I can do to enable this part of the save menu when printing as a PDF. Would really like to be able to change the document from "Untitled" to something more meaningful. I notice that I can't click on anything in that part of the menu: title, author, subject, keywords, or the security options button. Thanks , screen capture attached. Edit: I tried doing this from Preview (originally was doing it from Evernote) and it worked to add the information as desired. I'm not sure why it wouldn't work from Evernote. Does anyone know the answer?
  14. Today, I am beyond frustrated with Evernote. Up until I updated to 5.0, I had no issues printing to my HP Wireless (AirPrint capable) printer. Well now, it no longer works. But not just that it won't send anything to the printer, it does, and that's where the problem is. So regardless of whether I create a new note, or use an old note, instead of printing the note it will just send multiple pages with nothing on them to the printer. I've tried it on my iPad and my iPhone to the same issue. Nothing at all has changes, I can print to the printer fine with any other app, just not with Evernote. Please help, this feature is absolutely a must have for me. Thanks. Nick
  15. I would like to be able to highlight a selection of notes in the Desktop Application, and then print that listing. Right now, the only way to print a list of notes (vs. the individual notes) is to take a screen capture using another utility and then print from there. If you are trying to track a project, it's often very handy to be able to print a list of the project steps for team discussion.
  16. I am having a strange issue. When printing any italics they come out with characters cut off. Have tried different fonts.... same issue. Running Windows 7, Latest Evernote (4.5.10.7472), Canon MX310 printer, also PDF printer. Please see attached screen grab from print preview. Print out is identical. Thank You Paul
  17. I think I've been in denial for a couple of weeks because I refused to believe that I couldn't print a view of whatever notebook list or tag list I was looking at in Evernote. After realizing I could not really count on Microsoft OneNote, Tasks, Notes, etc. due to sharing issues I searched around for a solution and loved Evernote. But the one thing I was missing was tasks. After searching for what others have done, I ended up coming up with a perfect system, making Evernote my all time favoriate software. However, after spending hours moving over all my tasks, I was SHOCKED to see that I couldn't print it out! I checked all the sites and forums and was more surprised that I coudln't find hundreds of people asking the same thing. I did try someone's suggestion to copy the title links to a new note, but that messes up the formatting and if I want to sort in a particular format, I lose all that as well and have to manually cut and paste everything. It's a royal pain! I can access the links on my computer and my android phone but many times I just need that sheet of paper. Whether it's because I'm in a place that doesn't allow phones/laptops, or need the visual point of view, having the paper makes all the difference in the world. I don't need the *content* of the note, per se, just all the list titles. And I even tried doing print screens and spent hours trying to find apps for capturing scrolling screens so I could just screen print and see all the note titles in the list. But even the fanciest of scrolling print screen apps don't work with Evernote's scrolling. So, I've been looking for the last two weeks at one app after another to see what I can replace Evernote with from a tasking perspective. While some are good, none seem to be so compelling to make me want to split my use of evernote, even with them integrating with Evernote! All my problems would be solved if I could just sort a list the way I wanted it and then print so that the titles of all my notebooks would appear! Is it possible to get this feature?? If it's already there and just hidden, does anyone know how to do it? Is there a third paty solution that will integrate and do this for me and if so, who?? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  18. I really enjoy being able to copy and paste note links within Evernote. This allows me to read through notes and quickly move to closely related notes. But the most useful thing about note links I have found is making table of contents for "books." I have a number of articles/books I am working on. I start with an outline in Evernote, and then create a new note for each point on the outline, inserting a link to that note in the outline. In the end I have a note that acts as a hot-linked table of contents. Here is what I'd like to see: a print option that would print all linked notes when printing a "table of contents." I would prefer it to "print" to a PDF (save as PDF) so that I could then view, e-mail, print, post, whatever. The printing option would work like this: You print a note with links and have the option to "print linked notes." If you check that off, the first thing to be printed would be the main-note (whichever you are printing, the TOC) and then in order of links, each of the linked notes. A few additional options would be: begin each note on new page/print continuously include page numbers (w/ options for each of the 6 usual places) include footer/header (options for main note "TOC" title as header/footer or each individual notes title as header/footer) include title page (maybe tricky, but using the title of the TOC, including some additional information like creator name, date? etc.) include page numbers in TOC (probably the most tricky option, but possible. Having the page numbers inserted after the hyperlinks. The hyperlinks are already being "noticed," so maybe it is possible to insert numbers after them corresponding to the pages that the notes will end up on. Maybe the user would need to insert some coded text after the hyperlinks that could be read by this print option.) Maybe there is even more that could be done here, but it seems this would be an excellent print option that would open up a number of possibilities.
  19. This is the first time I've been on this forum so am not too sure if the topic has been dealt with but a search didn't show up anything. Anyrate, I want to print a list of the titles of my notes that are in a particular group to give me a printed index. I can't see a way of printing the list of titles, only the individual notes. Without a list I cannot collate and compare with other lists I have in Dropbox and in folders on my hard drive. Can someone please explain how to do this? The only way I can think of is rather tedious, that is copying sections of the screen and pasting sections to reassemble in a word or desktop publishing program.
  20. I would like to review all the tags I have assigned and maybe cull the herd or combine some. It would be a great help to be able to print out the entire list of tags as it appears in the left-hand part of the screen, where all the tags are list and in parentheses how many items carry that tag. Is there any way to do this directly? Or is there a way to export just the tag list? Thanks for any suggestions.
  21. Dear EN Team support, I need to print my notes, but without the attachments (PDFs, .doc, etc). Even if I choose to print the first page of the note, the first page of each attachment it is also printed. I don't think this behavior makes sense. I do not know whether to classify this as a report of a possible bug, or as a new feature request but, is possible to include (in next version) an option somewhere to not print the attachments? Thanks in advance for the reply... Raul
  22. I am sure these issues are addressed somewhere in this forum, but I would appreciate feedback. We recently switched from PCs to Macs and Evernote is an outstanding program that seems responsive to suggestions. I am converting years of OneNote data to Evernote. Here are some issues that I hope to see improved or maybe I missed: Printing Formatting needs improvement: It is very frustrating to print out a note with a 2 inch margin that can't be changed. New View for Note Only. Is there a way to hide the left notes columns to just view the note for a presentation? Need Tab Indentation Options like any other text program (including this message field) Ability to create custom notes sort order Tables: Need ability to adjust cells, add/delete columns, etc. OneNote had better screen flexibility - mix and move elements anywhere on screen Where are files stored? Are they included in a Mac Timeline Backup? Thanks!
  23. When I try and print notes that have lists with checkboxes, everything on the note prints except the checkboxes! When I send the note via email, the checkboxes show up just fine. They just don't show up on the page when printed directly from Evernote. How can I fix, or is this just a glitch in Evernote? I am on a Mac, OSX 10.6.8.
  24. I'm new to Evernote and I've got a problem that I can't resolve . . . hope someone can help me. I've created a notebook and collected notes (no images) from a stack of academic papers that I'm going to use in a literature review for a paper that I'm writing. I have 118 notes and now I need to understand how to "see" them and "print" them so that I can write the paper. I used to use 3x5 cards . . . one note per card. I'd put a tag and a reference to the actual document at the top of the card, then I'd sort all the cards into piles (by tag or by category). Then I'd organize the pile . . . the order of the cards would prompt what I would write first, second and so on . . . I'd write about the first note, then the second, the third, etc., until I finished that pile. Then I'd move to the next pile. I'm missing my piles! I would like to now print out a "pile" from Evernote . . . search on a tag, for example, "lit review", get just those notes and print them (hopefully with the reference info, i.e. title of article and author/s. There are 40 notes that pop up in my "lit review" search . . . but how do I print them? How do I print the search so that I can have each note printed on paper, whether it's one note per piece of paper (I don't want to do that, of course) or it's 3 notes to a piece of paper . . . I don't know how to output the content. Thanks.
  25. Hello! I've been using EverNote rarely until very recently, when I started studies. This time, I am using my special laptop - the Dell Latitude XT2, which is perfectly designed as Convertible Tablet, with multi-touch screen and Pen based on N-Trig technology, with Windows 7. I've been initially thinking a lot what to use - Microsoft OneNote, or something else, until someone showed me how Evernote is great to organize notes using Tags, and I liked it (because the idea works good in Gmail). And so, I've begun the pioneer experiment (to my knowledge and Google searches, no one uses Evernote as studies notebook, there is no such section even in the Usage forum section of Evernote). So after about a month of working and struggling with it, I would like to bring my feedback here, hopefully some of it would be implemented soon - I don't even mind purchasing the Premium subscription, if I knew it helped me assure more intuitive functionality for Ink note taking. so, without further intro, the issues I've had to fight with so far: Printing - When Ink Note sent to print, the automatic color (blue) comes out kind of Grey - it should be black for readability. Ex-portability - It seems the only way to get the note outside in a widely known format, is as .MHT file which is a very old Internet Explorer format - I would LOVE to do so as a PDF file! It is weird to submit assignments as .MHT files on email, rather than widely acceptable PDF file format Printing Ink notes: There is a big problem with notes longer than A4 paper: They get cut off without any warning, sometimes half the line on one page, half on the other - this is VERY bad - a quick and relatively easy solution to implement, would be to add some kind of market in the Note itself, marking the end of an A4 sized page, which would allow me to skip the edge and write lines after that edge, so printing would be OK. When printing, I have not found a way to get rid of the margins, and at least use all the space on the page. Crashes often when synchronizing desktop computers with the Ink notes created on my Laptop. Crashes sometimes when I rotate my screen on the laptop (and resolution changes to match). Crash issues I have sent, and provided log files for - are gone.. I cant track their status, cant find their ticket.. nothing. Ink notes are way behind the normal notes in functionality - I cant copy/paste text, or picture snippet etc - sometimes I really want to copy/paste the exercise instead of switching windows to the word/pdf file all the time, and it seem to be impossible. Search function is limited and hard to use: there is no easy way to filter by 2 different tags (for example, filter by "Probability" AND "Assignment" AND "Documents" tags, which would then display me all the probability notes which are assignments, and are documents (like PDF, or word files), or instead of "Documents" tag, a "Solution" tag which would show the solutions only. Creation date modification feature needed - sometimes I missed a lecture, and I need to write it later, but then the sorting by Creation date (which normally would show me the real lecture's chronological order) gets broken because I created the document later - I would like to be able to modify the creation date to adjust for the real time the lecture took place. Sometimes, due to lack of time and other reasons, I am forced to continue next lecture (on the same subject) in the previous lecture's Ink Note - I would love a mechanism which would allow me later to split it into 2 separate notes - the current cut/paste methods are not good enough for large long blocks. Email Sharing of Ink notes - The sent sharing email is totally useless, and unclear what to do with the file.. I cant really use that function to share the assignment with friends, or to submit it to the teacher either. This is all for now, I would love to hear what other people think of the above, and of anyone else who uses Evernote for Studies. This is the largest potential market for Evernote, and would be shame to see it not getting the attention it obviously needs. Thanks!
