  1. I noticed the other day that when I am offline, searching in my offline notebooks is no longer accurate. More specifically, searching for a given term in an offline notebook returns far fewer hits than when online and searching within the very safe offline notebook. Support is trying to tell me this was fixed recently, but I just tried the same search and the results were the same. Four hits when offline and 14 hits when online and searching within a particular offline notebook. Are other people seeing the same thing?
  2. Hi all, I am currently having an issue with the searchability of documents when using the Scansnap Cloud service. I am currently using an Scansnap ix500 scanner. WHEN I DO USE SCANSNAP CLOUD (WIRELESS) Currently, I have Scansnap Cloud set up such that all documents go straight to Evernote (as can be seen in the first attached picture). However, when the documents arrive in Evernote, they are not searchable/OCR'd. WHEN I DON"T USE SCANSNAP CLOUD (WIRED) When I have a wired connection and send the documents to Evernote through Scansnap's "quick menu" (from the included software CD - see the second attached picture), the documents arrive in Evernote and are indeed searchable (OCR'd). Why am I having this issue? At first, I though that the WIRED option runs the OCR on my computer and THEN sends it to Evernote (whereas under the WIRELESS option there may be no OCR on the Scansnap Cloud server side before it is sent to Evernote). However, doesn't Evernote have OCR capabilities on their end as well (and so it shouldn't matter whether the document has been "pre OCR'd" before arriving)? Or is OCR only a premium feature?
  3. Hello, Since EN 8 launch the app is crashing on startup (iPhone 6s). Versions 8.0.1 and 8.0.2 didn't fix the problem. I sent a Support Ticket friday 20th : no answer. I contacted EvernoteHelps via DM : no answer. Now I want to access the Support Chat, but the "Chat Now" button is not functionning = nothing happens when I click. I tried to access the Chat from two desktop computers, using Safari, Chrome, Firefox. Also tried from my iPhone. To sum up : - the Evernote app is broken. - I'm unable to reach any support and specifically Chat Support which is a feature that I pay for. Can you help ?
  4. The Evernote app for Chrome OS will not allow Plus customers to sync notebooks offline. It appears it needs to be updated. The app I'm referring to is https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/evernote/dhfolfjkgpeaojbiicgheljefkfbbfkc Upon installation, it indicates that a Premium account is required for offline syncing of notebooks. However, Plus customers are able to sync offline notebooks per the subscription levels page. https://evernote.com/pricing/ As a Plus customer, I'm able to sync notebooks offline with my Android phone, tablet and Mac. As I'm in the process of transitioning to Chrome OS, this app is important to the transition process. Is there a plan or estimated time on when this change will be made to the Chrome OS app?   5. Is it possible to email the entire text of a note -- not just a screenshot -- to a user who does not have and will note sign up for Evernote? I have a Premium account and would like to be able to share notes and to do lists -- preferably automatically -- with my spouse's Gmail account. I can't find an IFTT that will do this.

  8. My brother and I run a business. We live in separate cities. I'm on Mac, he's on Windows. Q1: What plan(s) can we select if we want to share a repository for scanned documents, and have text recognition within PDFs? Q2: Do we both have to buy the Plus or Premium? Q3: I've been an Evernote free-version user for year. What happens to my existing notebooks that I do not want to share? Can I specify settings that would allow me to share one or more notebooks to a single user? Thanks!
  9. Has anyone else downgraded to EN Basic had this experience? Evernote used to be one of my favourite applications ..... until recently that is. I wanted to support the business and development of EN and was a Premium account user for years until I downgraded from a Premium account to a basic account (I just couldn't justify the cost based on how much I actually used) this month and at first it gave me the usual, "are YOU SURE? Look at all the amazing features you'll lose." thing and I understood that... figuring this was a way to retain premium users. Well, it never stopped. Every single time i sign in on my (now two) allowed devices I see pop-ups and banners "your premium account is about to expire" or "your premium account HAS expired" and when I try to sign in on the web, it asks me to choose what account tier I want .... every single time! I get notifications or pop ups on the Android version as well as the desk top. But what really infuriated me is that today I got the millionth pop-up (edit: * to add that this is in the desktop version) that says, "You're halfway to your monthly upload limit. Nice job! Upgrade now and get all the space you'll need" Which would be another great tool to bring users back to Premium, if it were not for the fact that I have only used a tiny fraction of my monthly upload allotment. (about 12 kb out of 60 MBs) and am nowhere even close to reaching 5% much less 50% of my monthly upload limit!!! I don't appreciate constant spamming, pushing, deceptive pop-ups and hectoring to get me to upgrade again. If this keeps up every day I'm going to just switch to OneNote. I used to love EN so much but it feels like the vibe has changed... gone is EN Food, Skitch... and a friendly work environment. Like being pushed to come back to an ex, I'm afraid that customers might resent these attempts and any thoughts they might have had about upgrading might vanish.

  11. Hey Evernote peeps! Just received an email with the above subject, however looking back through my emails I never received one that alerted me that I had access to premium. This is too bad, as I would otherwise have tried them out to see if I should upgrade from the free version. Anyone else get the same thing? Since there doesn't seem to be an appropriate way of letting the team know, I'll write it here. Seems like a missed opportunity marketing-wise.
  12. Once upon a time, Evernote would not OCR PDF files if they were 100 pages or larger. Does that limit still exist in 2016? I couldn't find anything to support or refute it. Wondering if I need to manually OCR some largish PDF files before putting them in Evernote. (less than 250 pages, so not outrageous, but not under 100 pages either)
  13. We use evernote to keep lab notebooks at work (research science). Our group leader has a premium account which we use to create and manage experiment notebooks so that all lab members can work with them simultaneously. We haven't had problems with running out of upload quota before. My group leader didn't know the rules were changing and therefore the premium account was automatically dropped back to a basic account. We therefore ran out of upload quota for these notebooks this month. I have been getting the error that "This note is in the notebook that belongs to XXXXX who reached the upload quota for this month." Last Friday, he upgraded back to premium to fix the problem. However, although his account has been upgraded and his quota returned, I am still getting the same problem. Any suggestions for how to fix this? I have tried rebooting the computers. I have made sure my (basic) account is only registered on one device.
  14. How do I access Chat? I upgraded to Premium but still don't see any way to ask anyone a question. Also, several months ago on my android, Evernote stopped being able to highlight a word by double-tapping, making it difficult to cut, copy, or delete. At the same time, it began duplicating a word if I tried to backspace over it to erase it. It's really annoying. Is there any fix to this?
  15. Hi, I lost a lot of text in a note due to sync problems. If I upgrade to Premium now, will this work to see the note history of that note? Does it work retroactive, or will Evernote only keep history of my note(s) from that moment on...? Hope someone can help... Thanks!
  16. I wanted to try the premium features so I've used the "invite a friend" feature to earn 10 points and try it for one month. I've seen some threads in which the people are talking about they have to open a ticket to get these points. And this seems to be my case as well. Maybe it's just it takes a while to update the points or some additional actions are needed. BTW, I cannot see where a ticket can be opened to track this issue (if it's an issue).   17. I have two accounts, one premium and one basic. I want to consolidate into the premium account but I want to have the email address associated with the basic account as the main email. When I try to change the email address of the premium account to that of the basic account, it won't let me. Any ideas/ workarounds?
  18. I was copying some notes out of a Shared notebook I belonged to, saw a "getting close to monthly quota message and clicked on. Of course it advised my to upgrade to Premium, which I can't do at the moment, but clicked in it anyone just to see if the price had changed. Sure enough, it is now $59.00USD. Again with the zero notice. Would an announcent on the EN blog have been that hard?
  19. Here is my situation: Assume that there is a premium user who has a bunch of notes, like a 2 - 3 GB in amount each larger than 25 MB (which obviously exceed Basic account limit). That premium user want to share his notebook (well, it consists of a hundred of notes) to Basic account subscribers. Would he be able to do that? and Can basic accounts open the note (that is larger than 25 MB) or note book? (that would exceed upload limits per month?) Thanks in advance.
  20. I’m a bit confused about the Background App Refresh/ Background sync of Evernote on IOS. I found an article on the Evernote Blog (http://blog.evernote.com/blog/2013/09/18/the-beautiful-new-evernote-for-ios-7/ see 'Keep Everything In Sync‘) that describes the Background app refresh/ background sync as been introduced with the IOS7 App. "For the first time on iOS, Evernote is able to keep your account updated when the app isn’t active. So, whenever you open the app, your Personal notes are all right there. No more waiting. This feature is also important in the following frequently-occurring situations: - Offline Notebooks for Premium users - When you use Evernote on multiple platforms and devices In all these scenarios, your note list will now be up-to-date at all times. For Premium users, we’ll also make sure that your notes in your offline notebooks are downloaded and available when you don’t have a network connection." So I am a premium user with Evernote 7.7.5 on IOS 8.3 that has the Background Sync enabled for at least 3-4 month now. And it never worked as described above. Has this feature been secretly disabled with any of the Evernote IOS App updates? I am curious if this (background sync when the app is closed) has ever worked for anybody?! thanks for any insights and experiences Manuel

  22. Was annotating a PDF today on my iPad and when I saved changes, the app crashed. The first time this happened, my annotations saved. However, this happened a second time and I lost about 4 pages of annotations that time. App is up to date; not sure what could be causing this. But I'm doubting my purchase of Evernote Premium now. Any suggestions? Thanks!

So I started using Evernote a few months ago on my Samsung Galaxy S5 using the Android app. I would notice that these banners would appear above my list of notes (like "sign up for premium" or tutorials on how to do this or that). Once I saw a banner that said I could get free Evernote Premium for a certain time because I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. At first I pressed the "X" in the top right corner of the banner to close it. Then a while later it popped up again and I closed it again. It's been about 2 months and the banner has not shown up, and I have not been able to find any way to redeem this offer now. I am pretty sure this offer is legitimate because it says so on Samsung's official website http://pages.samsung.com/ca/galaxys5/English/galaxys5/galaxygifts.html Does anyone know how I would go about redeeming my free "Galaxy Gift"? I would greatly appreciate it.
