  1. Hi, I am about to use Evernote for my personal and work. And I have some queries: 1) How secure and private are my confidential notes in Evernote? 2) Can any Evernote employee access and see my confidential notes? I know people can see my notes and things only if I give access to them but here I am talking about Evernote employees. 3) Is there any way to prevent Evernote from auto-saving into the cloud and make Evernote to save the notes on my PC? Thanks in advance. Guddu
  2. Hi! I'd like to suggest that an entire notebook could be either encrypted or password protected (aside from the log-in or passcode to get into the app). I use Evernote for work and for personal. I like to keep a daily journal of personal thoughts and I'd love to do this in Evernote, but I've been relying on other password-protected apps. I like to leave my Evernote logged in, but that lack of security just worries me for keeping my personal journal entries in their own notebook.
  3. Now, that Personal and Work view are separate, I find myself constantly switching back and forth. I would much rather have two windows, one personal and one work. I still need to see both accounts side-by-side.
  4. When I signed up to upgrade my business account I assumed that I would have the ability to access my personal account without having to log out. This does not appear to be currently available, and to me seems to be a large gap that I think many of us would love to see provided.
  5. In the most recent upgrade to 6.0.6.1769 (301769) I cannot figure out how to move notes from my personal account to my business account. I used to be able to do this in the previous version and now that functionality has been lost. Is there a solution to this? I work are a construction company where we all share our default Personal notebooks so that we can see each others photos while out in the field. We all use our Personal notebooks to take pictures and then we file them in the appropriate business notebook when we have time to organize things. We seem to have lost the ability to do that in this most recent upgrade. Anybody have a solution to this?
  6. I tried rebooting my computer and logging in again. When I right click on a personal notebook, there is no option to move the notebook to business. I thought I would try to select all the notes in the Notebook but cannot seem to figure out how to do that either. The whole purpose of getting the business account is to move notebooks there and collaborate on them but will have to cancel business account if I can't move notebooks from personal.
  7. My public employer started restricting Evernote installation on company computers, stating that the Evernote EULA limits the program to "private use". Thus, no installation on work computers. I checked the EULA out and could not find anything about that, and it is my understanding that a lot pf people use it openly for work without any problems. Where can I find an official statement regarding this (I live in Europe, it that makes a difference)? Thank you very much, Andrea
  8. Hi There, I convert some personal notebooks into business notebooks for sharing. Is er a possibility to convert them back into a personal notebook? I can't find the option to do this... Kind regards Frank
  9. Hi there, I recently sought permissions from my company to download Evernote, and in the process of signing this off my bosses are wondering why I would need it – can our system not do this too?...if not, why aren't we all using it at the company?I am by no means an Evernote expert; I was simply hoping that – working in PR – it would help bring some more order to my personal output day-to-day. I am yet to find the app on my phone indispensable, and am in two minds about this: will it just be another account to manage, I wonder? In any case, I have been asked to explain what it provides that Gmail (and [internally] sharing files on the server) cannot. I was hoping for someone of worthier brain capacity than myself might be able to shed light on this: I have no idea about the usability of Evernote in my life, but would like to try it out. Any Evernote evangelists/sceptics who would like to provide some clarity for me out there? I'd be very grateful. Thank you, Ella
  10. Hi, I have a premium account of Evernote in which I have everything I need to remember. I used it for personal and professional needs. I used it at home only because I don't want to have all my personal stuff inside my business computer. In order to use it at work, I created a free account and I shared my professional notebooks with my free account. Occasionally, I'm limited by free accounts limitations. It's a little bit frustrating as I have a premium account. I could use TrueCrypt based solutions to have my whole account protected on my business computer but I'm not a big fan of that kind of solution as I change regularly the computer and it implies to authenticate every morning. I prefer to have only my business stuff locally. Is there a way to handle this situation without buying a new premium access ? Maybe by linking my premium and free accounts ? Maybe by allowing partial synchronization of my premium account ? Thanks.
  11. I saw a posting on LifeHacker where the poster said he didn't understand the appeal and value of Evernote. So I posted a reply which seemed to merit posting here too. My work, family, and personal life has a lot of moving parts. Evernote helps me keep them all organized. It is mostly a place to collect notes on a wide variety of topics. Such as: - Work - The three new products I'm bringing to market for my company - The five existing products I need to sustain - The ideas I have for new products - Tasks that don't directly link to either of the above - Travel plans: flight info, times, etc. - Travel perk memberships for airlines and hotels - Photos of whiteboard sessions, customers using our products, customers with cool ideas... - Home - Repetitive maintenance tasks - Shopping lists for Lowes/Home Depot - Family - Gift ideas for my wife, three kids, and me (for when they ask what I want for ...) - Clothing sizes for everyone - Medical info including last immunization, allergies, ongoing medication - Which ink cartridge each printer uses - Model, make, VIN, year, color, and more for each of the cars - Personal - Tasks I've committed to for church, social groups, etc. - Names of new people I've recently met or whose name I'm likely to forget (most, sadly) - Books I'd like to order from the library The alternative is an endless collection of paper scraps. Evernote isn on both my work and personal cell phone, home desktop, office laptop, personal laptop, iPad, and an Android tablet. No matter where I am I have at least one of these. I can make a note, it always goes into the right place, and everything syncs beautifully and automatically. Without Evernote, or something very similar, I'd be in deep trouble. And that's how I use Evernote- with gratitude to the inventors.
