  1. Hi, Does anybody using the jot script experiencing this behaviour in Penultimate: the first pen strike is always offset, for me on the left. I'm left-handed and configured the app regarding my writing style. anytime i switch the pen color or use the eraser, the ink is offset first time i touch back the screen with the jot script. next ones are OK, as long i doesn't zoom in or out, of touch any button. here's a short example: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s95/sh/d6487b52-4957-42bd-93bd-eb914bbcb0ce/428e97f227c24f0dbd6cbbcf852f8033
  2. I would like to be able to change the orientation of the lines on the lined papers so that they would match the orientation of my iPad. It seems that the standard line papers do not change with the orientation of the iPad. Please help!
  3. I would like to be able to change the orientation of the lines on the lined papers so that they would match the orientation of my iPad. It seems that the standard line papers do not change with the orientation of the iPad. Please help!
  4. I've been using Evernote and Penultimate for a while now, but I just converted over to a business account as I prepare to bring my IT Department onto Evernote. I've been disappointed to find on my ipad that the notebooks that I can sync Penultimate into are only the 2 personal notebooks I have in my account, not any of the business notebooks. Surely this is a gross error on my part?
  5. So the morning Penultimate informs me something along the lines of "it seems your account has changed, please log in again". I go through the process (which included a password reset) and lo and behold, all of my notebooks are gone! I check on Evernote, and the last notebook updates made were in Sep last year, with several of my notebooks not even featuring. My questions are this - seeing that it did not sync anywhere - (a) how do I get my notebooks back and ( how can I trust my to-date favorite app to not do it again?
  6. It would be fantastic if penultimate could provide the feature for highlighting the handwriting, including the possibility of use different colors and pen wide.
  7. Aesthetics being what we love that competes with functionality on a daily basis ... Can we see some improvement on the pen? A wider variety of colors and calligraphy, highlighters , etc would please both function and appearance of penultimate.
  8. Hello bought a Jod Script here in France after all the good tests in the internet to run on my Ipad 3. Setup worked as described , even when no paired device shows up in BT connections on the IPAD , but both Penultimate & Goodnotes reconize the pen (Penultimate shows Jod Script connected when starting ) ... but while in goodnotes the hand writing is switch off (as indicated in settings) Penultimate allows finger drawing even when Jod Script is connected . This is a bit annoying , any idea how to fix ? Thanks Bjoern Hirsch
  9. I lost my last week updates when changed to new version of Penultimate and it synced, anyone had the same?
  10. Looking for an easy stylus for handwritten notes in sales meetings. I have a Targus base model bundled w/ a iPad 3 cover. I want a finer point. Thanks.
  11. Hi, I am prepared to look stupid for asking this question but: I've searched all over for a way to download or create a Penultimate page that is longer than the default and have come up empty. For years I have used OneNote on a Windows convertible tablet, but the combination of Penultimate and the Jot Script gets me really close to not needing to lug around a larger device that is basically used just for note taking... with this one exception. I'm in a lot of meetings for various projects related to the team I run at my company. So as it relates to note-taking, what I typically do is create a "page" for a specific meeting or project, and keep all of the notes associated with it on that page. Which works fine in OneNote and other apps, but in Penultimate it drives me insane that I have to keep flipping to new "pages" as the discussion progresses. That makes reviewing the notes, assigning action items, creating related proposals and all those kinds of things incredibly clumsy. All I want is the ability to have a very long page length so that I don't have to do that. This seems like an extremely basic function that I am apparently too dumb to figure out. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks, ---Mike
  12. I am using the Jot Script with Penultimate, on an iPad Mini 1. I also use it on an iPad 3 from time to time. I get the same issue on both devices. Some wrist marks appear while I'm in zoom mode, but disappear when I zoom out. Some wrist marks appear that do not disappear. My assumption is that the wrist marks which disappear on zoom out are detected as errors, and those that don't disappear are not detected as errors. This leads me to two issues: Why are the marks detected as errors not removed until I zoom out? This leads to me forever zooming in and out to figure out whether I need to delete marks or not. Please update the app so that these marks are removed immediately. Why am I getting wrist marks anyway? The Script is connected, so surely I shouldn't be getting any?
  13. I wonder if a new version of Evernote with handwriting feature will be available on iPhone as it was in Android
  14. Once a selection has occurred, the user should be able to grab the dashed line and instead of moving the selection, it is resized. This would happen on any selected area whether it was selected, copied or moved.
  15. Hi, New to forum so sorry if this has been discussed before. I have an MS Word questionnaire that I have copied into Evernote (EN). I would like to export it to Penultimate (PEN) so I can write answers quickly on my iPad during job interviews. I know I can use the keyboard to modify the EN version on the fly but that's slow, clumsy and more of a distraction during an interview. Any ideas how to get it over to PEN so I can handwrite my notes? Thx Mark mpweiss@yahoo.com http://www.linkedin.com/in/markpweiss (602) 318-7890
  16. I was thinking the other day how handy it would be to have a "penultimate-style" feature in my evernote app that let me have a blank canvas to quickly draw or write something on my iPhone. It wouldn't need all of the features of Penultimate, just the simplistic ability to "draw a picture" or "Scribble a note or idea". Thoughts?
  17. I am very impressed with the versatility of Evernote and Penultimate is a valuable part of the entire package. It is a real asset to have this on iPad. The glitch is that I don't always have my iPad with me. However, I do have my iPhone with me. I understand that the screen size on the iPhone may be a big factor but the ability to jot a quick note in the iPhone and then expand and clarify the note on OS/iPad would be a real asset. What is the likelihood of making Penultimate available on iPhone?
  18. I have experienced many apps on my iPad what provide amazing handwriting specifications, especially regarding the wrist pad that enables the user to comfortably position his hand on the iPad just like on a physical notebook. but I better like to use Penultimate because of it's simplicity and the real ink simulation as well as the synchronization with Evernote and of course my loyalty to Evernote So what I really hope to see in the future update for Penultimate is only one thing: a wrist pad to give us a comfortable writing experience and enables us to draw even fine details for whatever sketch Thanks Evernote / I love you
  19. I am trying to like penultimate and evernote but there are some things lacking that is available in MS OneNote. add a tag box in penultimate that will allow searching in evernote. this way could write a to do list with a tag box beside. allow writing in evernote with the tag box. writing to text coversion in evernote (like OneNote). a magnifying button that will zoom in immediately to the next line.I have been using penultimate and although it is not feature rich the zoom and scroll allows me to actually take real time notes and pay attention to the conversation in the meeting. other apps are distracting and i find i am fooling around with the app more that actually taking notes - thus missing things. what i dont like is when penultimate notes are brought into evernote they are uneditable, just an image file basically. possibly a highlight or lasso function may work.
  20. I've been using my new Jot Script at work a lot this week, and I have a suggestion that would help immensely. As you know, the script sometimes loses connection if the iPad sleeps or the user swaps apps, requiring the user to pop the power button on the pen to reconnect. If the script connection is still "alive" or is reconnected, a text prompt shows "Jot Script connected" prompt appears briefly and vanishes. This prompt is useful but is only visible for a brief moment. I've had to press the power on the pen then shift my gaze quickly to the iPad to see whether the prompt appears. I know there are workarounds to test the script's status, but if I'm using Penultimate to take quick incident notes, I don't have time to tinker. So I have a couple of ideas mocked up to provide real-time connection status to the user. (I can't know, of course, whether the back-end information is available to support this.) The mockups assume that Penultimate "knows" if a Jot Script has been paired before. Assume that these markers would only occur when this is the case. OPTION 1: Paired, Script is Available: The BB won't let me post more screenshots, so the other options are posted here.
  21. I am trying to work math problems that are in a PDF in iBooks. I can copy the text of the problems from the PDF into Evernote (iOS) and other apps successfully. I haven't found a way to paste that into Penultimate without creating an image and putting that in the notebook. Is there a way to paste items from other apps into penultimate?
  22. This has been raised before, but the search wouldn't find it,so here goes again. Simple but vital request: Please match Evernote folders in Penultimate. I have work notebooks and personal notebooks etc in Penultimate, and it's trauma to scroll through them all. In Evernote, I have moved them all to relevant folders, but in penultimate, every notebook is separate. Why is it different? What is the design principle that says it works to have folders and subfoldesrs in Evernote, but not in Penultimate? Come on, seriously!!!
  23. Is there a possibility to lock a jpg in a sketch? When drawing a line on top of a jpg, the jpg moves sometimes and Penultimate asks me if I want to erase the jpg…
  24. for a pen app, needs better size/color palette that remains open til user taps outside popup. shouldn't need to reopen when changing both color & stroke size. optimally, should be able to dbl-tap a color swatch to bring up usual full palette to choose custom color.
  25. So I started using Penultimate. It's great, but there's just one problem. When I go see the notes in Evernote (and Save As...) the resolution is really low. Zoomed in letters are pixelated. I thought maybe that was just the resolution and maybe my eyes were tricking me on my iPad, but I exported the note to the camera roll and it was a million times clearer. I assumed this is because my iPad has a retina display, but this makes no sense. If Evernote stores the pages in a low (non-retina) resolution they should also be pixelized when I zoom in on my iPad (I checked, they aren't). And if they store them in high resolution, why are they low resolution on my account (Web and PC). It's like EN exports a lower resolution size to your account (possible to save space), but why aren't the high resolutions available too. Or does EN not back those up, and they're just on the iPad? Or...are the strokes vectors or something? The workaround is exporting each note to the camera roll (PDF exports low resolution too), but I shouldn't have to. It's a dozen extra steps instead of a simple sync then saving the notes I want.. I was thinking of contacting support, but I thought this was more of a problem for the forums since I don't think it's a bug/error.
