  1. I am baffled by the Match Style Paste on Mac, as my formatting is no longer retained. I am Mac OS X Sierra 10.12.4 and I did a routine software update today. Yesterday, anytime I pasted from any source (specifically Chrome content), I could see the format of clipboard with a simple command + V (no shift) after copying. Today I am pasting from my clipboard and the formatting is not "matched." I tried Paste Match Style from Edit menu, the shortcut command + shift + V ... I even tried fiddling with "simplify format," to see if I had "toggled" a setting ... nothing. Frustrated by the lack of consistent behavior, and lack of any defaults or setting adjustments in Preferences. Did something happen after the software update? Or was some account setting altered after I used the app on android? Can anyone help, or provide an update on this issue? Is it a known bug? Thanks!
  2. As of today I can't correctly copy mathematic formulas from Mathtype into Evernote (desktop application and web application). Does someone have a solution for this problem I am having? Kind regards
  3. Does Evernote have any plans to do as follows in some near and not far far away distant future? Allow to write sections in HTML or Markdown, and have the viewer interpret/render the section - look at Confluence's wiki product, it has the beauty to have plugins that allow to render whenever their own editor falls short, so people can format their text in more suitable ways. Proper code blocks with color coding according to type of context - simply look at how many only web editors support for multiple language code format: json, javascript, bash, perl, ruby, C++, C#, java, python, Go... - it is not just a code block it allows to format the the code in the proper color code (examples http://collabedit.com/ or https://jsfiddle.net/). 3rd party plugins that allow evernote to expand its capabilities - this is specially useful so Evernote's features can grow without always putting demands on the dev team. Anyone can tell me which of these are already available on the product? Thank you .
  4. (iOS) copy and pasting of images from Evernote App to Apple Mail App causes the images to be missing from the recipient's end. It's not an Apple Mail issue, because Evernote stores the images in iOS differently, i've checked with other Evernote users, and are experiencing same issues. Please advise
  5. I am a everyday user of EN. I have several note to archive and support my family lifestyle. I also use a Moleskine Evernote Smart Notebook for my job. So EN's ability to use different online notebooks, tags, etc, are perfect for how I use it. The post is to highlight two of my most important feature requests. 1. If I can search for my handwritten notes, I want to be able to copy and paste the text elsewhere. I understand that it wouldn't be perfect OCR all of the time, but this is the biggest 'missing piece' for me in Evernote. I keep so many Moleskine captured pages that not being able to copy the information is turning me away from spending the time and effort to capture it in the first place. 2. The ability to edit and tag Moleskine Notebook captures. When using the widget, or the quick launch for taking pictures directly into a new note, I am often frustrated with the ability to provide the note a title and tags before I have to save it. I launch the camera from a the widget or the quick launch 3D Touch option and once the image is captured, I can save or delete it. I can even add more pictures, but I cannot add a title to the note or tags until I have saved it, the reopened it to provide edits. Please develop an option here to rectifié the extra steps presently needed which at end to negate any "quick" aspect to the EN photo capture. I have my ideas on how to make this look, but I'd rather see a feature to support my request rather than wait for the perfect one. Pete I use Evernote on the following: iPhone 6S Plus and iPad Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, and a PC running Windows 7 (yes that is the work computer).
  6. Dear All, I just wanted to share a screenshot with a friend on Facebook, but copy-paste from Skitch to FB did not worked. I did not use the Sharing function within Skitch, because I do not want to setup FB acc on OSX just because of this. Any ide how can I copy-paste content from Skitch to FB private msg? Does it maybe work with other browsers, and sux is just with Safari? Thx.
  7. Just suddenly started having problems in the last couple of weeks very similar to this post: I am working in notes with big lists and other plain text content. I might copy something and it pastes back as nothing or just a new line, or just part of the whole piece I copied. I press fn+delete and instead of forward deleting as typical mac behavior it just back spaces. Numbered lists of notes do not join. Previously if you had two lists, one right after the other, you could "join" them by deleting the empty space between and the numbers on the second list would then cary on where the first list left off. This is not working anymore. Sometimes after deleting a selection or line, or after cutting it, the cursor jumps to the bottom or top of the page or somewhere random. Sometimes it jumps OUTSIDE the editing area to the left side of the padding of the white editing area background. Undo and redo are acting weird as well. Sometimes not doing anything at all, sometimes not jumping the screen to the cursor when you do ctrl-z. It started randomly, I hadn't even updated evernote so it wasn't caused by an update I don't think. I just updated to most recent to see if that would fix it but it didn't. Anyone experiencing similar issues?
  8. Hey guys, Apologies for adding ANOTHER buggy formatting complaint to the pile - I am aware these problems are tricky and well-discussed already, but can't find a solution to my now longstanding annoyances with copying and pasting text to and from Evernote. Specifically, I am finding frequently that pasting text from .pdf documents into Evernote (which I always do with shift+cmd+v to adjust to EverNote format) will sometimes look fine in the OSX editor, but then when I paste it into another editor (in my cases usually Pages), there will be weird formatting issues -- most commonly line breaks between words, which are impossible to delete. So I'll paste a paragraph into EverNote, copy that paragraph later and paste into Pages, and there will be big gaps between words that defy all logic! I've also realised that the spaces that appear correspond to the line breaks on the original .pdf (see attached files) Pasting the text into TextEdit and converting to Plain Text does not resolve the issue, the gaps are still there even on TextEdit. Forgive me if this is a frequently-cited issue, I couldn't find a similar forum post. Also forgive me if this is a basic error, I'm no expert in the terminology and code of text formatting. Thanks! Callum I've included files of the copy and pasted paragraph in its original pdf, on Evernote and on TextEdit, to show how the formatting changes
  9. Hello! I have multiple ebooks that I put on evernote. Without having to go elsewhere, it there a way I can split the ebook into two so that I can put them on a note? I know that the limit is 200mb per note and it kind of sucks because I have to use an online software to split it up.
  10. Apologies if this is blatantly obvious, or if there is another question on this, but I couldn't find it. I am often getting a list of items from another source and want to put into Evernote as a checklist. It took me forever to figure out how to do this. Clean up your list in your source application. I use Excel for this alot, because I am an accountant, and when I am a hammer, everything looks like a nail to me. So there is little I cannot do with Excel. That's all I'll say about that. The list can have no blank rows, and needs to be in the order you want it in Evernote. Copy the list to a pure TEXT app, like Notepad. Create a new note in Evernote. Create 1 checkbox. Go back to Notepad. CTRL-A, CTRL-C (select all and copy) Go back to Evernote. With your cursor next to the checkbox, just to the right, right-click and select "Paste and Match Style" This should create a massive checklist for you. The trick is Notepad or other text editor. Copying straight from Excel always left me with one checkbox and an unusable grid. You're welcome. I'll try this at home tonight in Evernote for Mac. Not sure if it has the same Paste/Match Style option or not
  11. When copying content into Evernote, it retains the source formatting automatically. This is nice, but sometimes you want the content to come over as plain text and adopt whatever formatting is in use at the 'paste' spot or as plain text. This option is perfectly exemplified within Microsoft Word, and Evernote would benefit greatly from adopting this feature given that notes take content from varying sources; We should be able to designate whether we want to import the formatting or not. Evernote Web has a button in the editor to 'Remove formatting', but it doesn't always work correctly, I believe it is more geared toward removing formatting that was created by the editor itself rather than as a tool to convert imported content to plain text. My current solution is to paste into Notepad and re-copy from there. It'd be nice to see this baked into Evernote to spare me my pain.
  12. Hi all, I often write my notes in a plain-text editor (TextEdit, Notepad++, TextWrangler, MS Notepad...) before firing up Evernote and pasting the whole thing. I have 2 problems with keeping the format: 1) the whitespace is not preserved! That's bad across the board, but especially for the space I used for indentation... 2) I set my font to monospace, then as soon as I press enter or edit something inside evernote, the format reverts to the default font (I'm aware I can change that default font, although I haven't done it yet, but I'm talking about preservation of the font selected. I know some desktop text editors have this problem as well, but mostly at the end of the text, not in the middle like this...) So, due to these problems, after copy-pasting, and a bit of editing, I have to: select everything and re-apply the (monospace) fontmanually hunt for collapsed spacing and fix itif I edit something, again select-all and re-apply the font, etc...It's quite some trouble for a bit of plaintext...
  14. Hi. Does anyone else have this problem as well? I am not able to select text when in edit mode. When I do a double tap on a word, I can see that the word is highlighted for a split second and that the markers for the left and right edge of the selection are visible. But the selection and the markers go away instantly and so I am not able to copy/paste anything in the edtior. Maybe I am doing it wrong? I tried a lot. Tap, tap and hold, double tap, double tap and hold, triple dap and so forth. It's a pain to write some text (shopping lists, etc.) without copy/paste. The phone I am using is a Sony Xperia T with Android 4.1.2. Please help and many thanks in advance.
  15. I would like to copy some small Excel spreadsheet pages into EN and have them appear in EN as a grid (with or without the lines). I have basic Evernote. Is there a way to do this?
  16. I copy and paste links to lots of things, but that disables word wrap. This makes it unpleasant to use. Is there any way to make this work?
  17. I have a Macbook Air. I use evernote on the web (not the app), gmail and webmail daily. Each day for work, I type up all of my progress using the checkmark bullet to note if a task has been completed. When I go to send this to my boss at the end of day, I copy and paste it and it looks like this (same as it does in evernote): Sample task 1 Sample task 2sample task 3 sample task 4HOWEVER, when it sends the email - those checkboxes disappear and my progress report now is just a list of things with no notes on progress or anything. If I paste and match style, it does this (which is not helpful at all): SubmitSample task 1 SubmitSample task 2Submitsample task 3 Submitsample task 4 I previously used a pc, and copying and pasting was great. I would copy from evernote and then paste as plain text directly into my email message (be it gmail or webmail) and it would appear like this: [X]sample task 1 [X]Sample task 4[X] sample task 3 [X]sample task 4 Why doesn't this happen with a mac? Is there a work around similar to paste as plain text that will give me the [X] bullets? This is very frustrating. evernote was perfect, now since this function doesn't even work with a mac it seems pretty useless and is more frustrating than just creating a word doc in the first place. Please advise.
  18. ...until you switch to a different note and back. Can this be fixed in the next version?
  19. Hi, when I copy some text from WORDsearch 10 bible software into Evernote, always get the header like below: Version:1.0 StartHTML:000000256 EndHTML:000000596 StartFragment:000000371 EndFragment:000000560 StartSelection:000000371 EndSelection:000000560 SourceURL:file:///C:/users/Public/Application%20Data/WORDsearch/WORDsearch%2010/Cache/copy_passage.html Matthew 3:17 (NKJV) 17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." Does anyone know an easy fix for this ? Thank you !
  20. I just installed the latest version of Evernote on my Windows 7 laptop. I have been using it for a few days without issue. However, today I just pasted a large chat log into a new note to review/save, but the bottom part of the log is cut off. I can move the cursor down with the arrow keys, but the scroll bar on the side is at the bottom of the screen, so not sure what's going on here. Is it possible to paste too much into a note? Any help appreciated.
  21. I am using a mac. I used to be able to cut tables out of excel spreadsheets and other data sources, then paste them into evernote. They looked fine. Sometimes the columns would narrow but I could live with that. They stayed in alignment and looked like a proper table. For the past few days each time I paste, the rows and columns are all unaligned (columns are various sizes for each row). Tables end up looking like a staircase! not square or rectangle. Why is this happening? Is it something to do with the update that was recently done? I tried to find a way to 'paste special' but there doesn't seem to be that option in Evernote. Can anyone help.
  22. The two attached screenshots are what the text looks like in evernote and then what the texts looks like when I paste into a word processor. The code that is pasted along with it is the same regardless of what I copy and paste. My Evernote version is 6.0.11. I'm running OS X 10.10.3. Thanks for any help!
  23. Suddenly, text I copy/paste from a webpage into an Evernote note won't edit. Actually, I can add text, but can't delete any. If I enter a new sentence, for example, I can't delete any of it. Nor can I delete anything that was in the original copy/paste. Also, the Delete key behaves as a right arrow. Furthermore, if I change the font of a single word, I can edit or delete that word. But, if I change the font of the entire paste, I can't edit. If I copy/paste into MS word, editing works fine. Just upgraded to 6.0.13 on Mac running OS 10.10.13
  24. If I select all of a table from a note WITHIN Evernote and paste it into a different note WITHIN Evernote, the table's rows go from three (3) to one (1) column. This used to work - as recently as mid-April (but as late as April 29th). Any insight would be appreciated.
  25. It is a quite annoying bug. In the latest version 6.0.13, if you copy-paste a html table into notes. part of html format information would be lost. This problem did not occur on 6.0.6.
