We detected suspicious activity on some users' accounts and have recently emailed them. This is related to reports of users receiving failed email notifications that they never sent, indicating that someone has learned the password to their account. The Evernote service wasn’t compromised, but we believe someone other than the account owner has learned the password to these accounts. Just to be safe, we’ve reset these user’s passwords. If you have not received this email notification from us and you have not seen any failed email notifications that you did not send, then you are likely not impacted. If you would like to take proactive action to further secure your Evernote account, take these steps below: Please visit https://www.evernote.com/ForgotPassword.action to set a new one. We recommend that you choose a strong password that you use only for Evernote. We also suggest that you change your password on any other websites where you may have used the same password. You can find more tips for keeping your account secure on our Customer Security page: https://evernote.com/security/tips/. First post, apologies if I miss some etiquette here. I do understand that this topic has been heavily discussed and I tried to find the answer I was looking for in the locations directed by the Evernote support pages. I'm posting after not finding that information. Recently, with the forced password reset, my mobile device stopped syncing. This makes sense. Device can't upload since it can no longer authenticate. My issue is with recovering the notes created in the time between when the account was locked for password reset and when I realized the mobile device was not syncing. I am new to the service and really enjoy it! I'm working to get it implemented as a paid premium service for my organization at work. My newness is probably why I can't figure out where the local files are saved on my mobile device, or how I might transfer them off/export them so they are not lost when I update my password. My expectation is that, when I update my pass on the site, my mobile will need to close its current session to re-authenticate thereby losing anything in the current session. While I could work around this and do not mind the time to do so, I would like to first confirm that there are no other options. Again, I'm looking at implementing this as an enterprise solution and it would be helpful to note the approved resolution. Any help appreciated. Again I did attempt to search the forums, faq, and 3rd part communities but cannot seem to find a clear answer on specifically exporting the unsync'd notes. I also submitted a support ticket, but I think a few keywords I mentioned got me a form reply in regard to the password reset and the ticket was closed (again, understandable given the volume of tickets that I am sure are being worked through, but it did not resolve my initial question). Thanks in advance, - Affiliatenote
After I reset my password, as told necessary, I lost all of my notes. I have a bunch of tests and finals coming up and I'm desperate to get them back as soon as possible! I sent an email for support two days ago but have still not gotten an answer. After googleing the issue today I realized that this was a problem for many people. I have tried the step-by-step list posted as a reply to several of the posts concerning the same issue (about logging in with your username, not your email, to retrieve your notes), but it didn't help me. The same "welcome to evernote" note is now the only note on my account. I have been freaking out about this for almost three days now and I am getting seriously worried my notes will never be retrieved. I used evernote for the sole purpose of not losing my notes in case anything happened to my Mac, and I can not put into words how disappointed I am about these resent events. The evernote team has not even been bothered to answer my email, and I am hugely disappointed. Does anyone know any alternative ways to get the past two years of school work back? It syncs automatically so I'm assuming they are saved somewhere, but how do I retrieve them? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have three huge tests within the next two days and everything that I need to prepare for them were written in evernote.
