  1. I have an issue with formatting being removed/altered in documents edited in other ways on the Pre. I add a note copied from a webpage within Evernote in Windows or Mac- its synced. When I view the note on the Pre the formatting is mangled aka breaks removed, spacing, alignment, etc all removed and I see one huge paragraph of text. But if I were to view the same note in mac/win it looks fine in the original formatting. But if I go to add a tag to the document via the Pre and do not alter the note content at all, Evernote saves the note in the Pre mangled format and it looks like a clump of text in the other versions(mac/win). This kinda cripples Evernote on the Pre and makes it only a simple text viewer. Anyone run into this problem? I've similarly had issues with web links in notes. I have saved 10-20 links in a note and when I read it in the Pre the links are written vertically in the note instead of left to right. **edit just saw that the formatting (simple breaks and tabs) is being removed in windows too :?
  2. Evernote wiped out the majority of my to-do list note, my most important and extensive note. i think it happened when saving the note from the Pre client. i sent in a support request a week ago, but apparently you guys don't read them. some of the beginning of the note is still there, but after that it just got cut off.
  3. I'm new to EN but signed up when I discovered that the Pre's memos feature sucks. I used to store a lot of notes on my Treo but the post-it note layout doesn't really work for what I need. So far, this seems like it will be a great solution in addition to other manual ways I've always stored things on my computer! I finally figured out how to encrypt text within a note on my computer but when I went to see the note on my phone, all I saw was the lock & squares symbol but couldn't get it to open so I could unlock it & view the note. Is this possible? And on a side note, is there a way to just encrypt an entire note rather than just portions of the text within the note? I'd like to be able to store passwords but for obvious reasons want to make sure they're secured. Also, what does the button in the bottom middle of the screen when a note is opened (the circled arrow) do? It doesn't do anything other than sometimes giving an error message whenever I press it. After trial & error, I figured out what the other symbols are but that one would make me think it's to refresh or something but it doesn't do anything for me. A key to explaining the symbols would be a good idea to add to the app (unless I completely missed it). Thanks! :-)
  4. Getting up to speed with EN on my PRE... is there a way to bring up different notebooks on the PRE, or bring up all notes for a Tag? Don't see the ability to search on the handheld. Also, I can encrypt on the desktop... but can you decrypt to read the note on the PRE? I installed the desktop software.... do I need to install something on the PRE, or just log on and use it as I have been. Thanks very much for this great app.
  5. Can menu items Cut and Paste be enabled for the Evernote on Palm Pre? We'd like to cut/ paste to/ from other applications, email, tasks, memos, contacts, web. Enabling the Pre's built-in copy feature for the cut / copy / paste should be fairly basic... it's in almost all the other apps... if you can do this on some future release that'd be very appreciated.
  6. Just tried to open Evernote to check a note, and it's starting offline mode. I'm connected to my work's wifi, and I also have a solid (5-bar) EVDO signal. Logging out doesn't fix anything--I can't log in when I'm in offline mode. D'oh!
  7. Opened EN on my Pre and was taking notes at a meeting. When I tried to save, it said error saving note. I tried a number of times and went back to the main card and tried opening an existing note which gave the same error. I had full data connection. I tried logging out and back in, and then my notes were readable again, but the note card I'd been working on was gone. Tried going into pending uploads but nothing was there, so it's gone. Guess at this point if I'm working on a longer note I'll have to do it from the mobile web version...
  8. Deleting a note from my phone did not delete it from my PC. Should it have?
  9. .... to be able to just search tags. For example, one of my tags is 'to do'. Unfortunately, that phrase comes up a lot in a variety of text. So, when I search for 'to do' - I get all sorts of *****. I have gotten around this a little by changing the tag name but..... It would be nice, if possible, if when you started typing you were offered a choice of where to search - just like in the main OS. If I type in the OS I get options to search Google, Wikipedia, etc. If, when I started typing, I could tap 'tags only', it would be very nice. Thanks for the nice product and a very helpful support forum. mark
  10. Today I tried to edit a note with checkboxes on it. I actually was expecting it wouldn't let me since in general Evernote doesn't let you edit rich text outside of the desktop clients (and maybe the web client?), but it let me edit it. The checkboxes didn't show up either when just reading it or editing. After I resaaved I looked at the version on my windows client and the checkboxes were gone. So fair warning, you might not want to edit stuff with checkboxes at this point since that info will be erased!
  11. I just installed on my Palm Pre. I'm able to scroll vertically to view an image, but not horizontally. Am I missing something obvious? It would be nice to use in landscape mode. Thanks.
  12. Scrolling around large notes seems to "bounce". A swipe up will also shift left or right slightly and then back. Kinda weird. Also, the buttons at the bottom of the note will overlap the note so that it can't be seen or clicked. I have a html clipped note that has a link at the bottom of it that I can't seem to read. And, while writing this, still having connectivity issues and it went into "offline" mode.
  13. Is there a word limit on text notes being entered from the Pre? If this isn't just a wierd bug or feature I ran into, may I suggest that the current limit is way too small? Seems text files don't take but a tiny fraction of the space a photo might so not sure why you'd need a limit. Other than that, and not having the ability to make a saved search (or filter by tag, notebook etc.) on the Pre itself, the program is really fantastic. Loving it.
  14. As the subject states, the current version of EN for the Pre does not give an invalid password error message. Instead it just spins forever.
  15. Well, unfortunately, while I love the EN for Pre app in general, it's just not usable at this time for me. My issues: 1. At times, I lose the ability to open EN. This is the perpetually spinning circle error. 2. At times, #1 is preceded by a request to log in (although I've successfully logged in before), sometimes not. 3. Sometimes closing and reopening EN resolves #1 and/or #2, sometimes not. In some cases, only a phone reset will allow EN to open at all. 4. Once EN does open, within some period of time (as little as 5 minutes, from my unofficial estimate) notes no longer open. Click on a note and a card opens, but it's blank other than the note details. Just wanted to report in. Can't wait for the next version!
  16. I can't open my PDF files on Evernote on the Pre using either the Pre App or the mobile web version.
  17. FIrst off, thanks for making this app available so quickly for the Pre. I was excited to find it in the App Catalog; downloaded it; installed it; ran it; then... logged in and saw an endless progress spinner. I'd noticed a few of the reviews in the App Catalog said it does that if you enter your password incorrectly. I quit the app and retried, 5 times. I'm sure I'm entering my password and username correctly. What gives? Well, it works for my wife, so it must be something weird about my account. My password has letters, numerals, and symbols. I change my password to something without symbols. Now I can log in from the Pre. Conclusion: yup, the Pre version can't currently handle symbols in passwords.
  18. Dave or anyone else, was wondering if you guys had had much luck taking pictures of text? It seems that you need to be at least two or three feet from something to take a picture that's in focus. I know the iPhone has/had a similar issue which is why Clarify made their case which helped modify the lens to take pictures of closer objects. Do you think they (or someone else) might make something similar for the Pre and partner with you guys? Are there any workarounds to doing this? My hope is that with a new update, we'll see better ability to focus on closer objects, but I fear that it's simply a limitation with the physical lens and so without somethgin akin to the Clarify case, we may not have a real solution...
  19. Being a good geek, I know to make my passwords more secure with complex characters (#$&@, etc)... However... I found that using complex chars in my password caused the Pre app to fail to log me in. My password ended in a "#"... this worked fine for the website, but the Pre app would stay at the spinning "Loading" indefinitely. I had to remove all complex chars to get the login process to work. This, however, has made my password less secure. Also, side rant: I had to sign up for yet another account (your forums) to post this.... why wasn't my standard Evernote account not enough? Too many accounts......
  20. So I decided to take a bunch of photos of my garden with the Pre's very nice camera so that I could create notes about which plants I have in which beds, etc. What I failed to remember was that the Pre doesn't have any way to control the resolution of photos yet, so Every shot I took added a few megs to my monthly upload amount and after 10 or so of these, I was almost at my limit! I still have a free account, although I'll probably pick up a paid one fairly soon. I still have another 9 days, so I'm giving myself a moratorium on photos for the time being, but if I have to upload one (or a file that's fairly large), then I'm upgrading this week. But thought everyone hear should bear this in mind as it's not obvious - my old WM let me control the res so I could take large numbers of shots without really having to worry about this. Here's a question for folks at EN: Given the current lack of comparability of the Pre Camera, is there any way that you guys could do some custom processing of Pre images when they come in? Basically my thought would be to shrink them to 1MP or so, and decrease the jpeg quality so that instead of taking up 3+ MB per image, they only take up 500K or less? This would be a huge help. Being able to control this more precisely would be great, but just enabling/disabling a kind of best compromise solution of lower res and quality (but not TOO low) as above would be great. If this can't be done as a kind of interim solution until the Pre's camera gets more configurable, I think I'll have to be pretty sparing with my photo notes...
  21. I just got a new Palm Pre, and that's brought me to Evernote as a new user. So far I really like your web and Mac clients. I have a couple of questions about the Pre client -- I realize it's early days yet, so hopefully some of this is in the works. 1. I'm being prompted for my username/password every time I start EN. I see from another posting that this is a bug. Is there any known workaround? Also once I do log in, I sometimes get the "Welcome to Evernote, Loading..." for a long time; I basically have to give up by stopping the application. 2. When I log into EN, and then enter airplane mode, I can't bring up any of the notes. The note page launches, but only the title shows. Isn't the note content cached on the device? For this to work for me, I want to view my notes in areas with marginal data service. 3. I see that I can search EN by entering the EN application first, and then typing something. Very nice. Will it eventually be integrated into the universal search offered by the Pre OS? (I.e., I want to find notes by the search I execute from the "card view" level.) Thanks!
