  1. Hello developers! I have to first say that I love Evernote, just started using it in the last few months and it's awesome! Here are some features I'd like: - Ability to disable thumbnail image previews. I only write text notes, and the titles of the notes are good enough for me. Downloading images seems like a waste of bandwidth and slows the process down. - Ability to change the order of notes manually via drag/drop. Also: sort notes alphabetically. - Using formatting like bold and italics. - Ignore font differences. I really would just like to have plain text + bold/italics. (This is actually a feature I'd love for all of the Evernote applications, especially the Windows version that doesn't seem to respect the idea of pasting in plain text.) - Saving the notes on the WebOS device itself. In another post you said that this isn't possible yet, but a vote for the feature when it's possible. - In list view, when pressing on an item have it "depress" like the Mail application does. - In list view, ability to swipe and delete an item like the Mail application does. - When editing a note continue using the small "details" button instead of taking so much space up with the tags and notebook information. If I want to change those, I could click that button. I know it's a lot of requests, but that's because I think your app rocks and I want to help improve it. Thank you!!
  2. It struck me that Palm with WebOS 1.3.5.X is now allowing applications to store their executables and data in the USB partition, which effectively provides significantly more storage space than in the past. Has Palm increased the amount of storage space an app can allocate, and if so are there plans to cache notes locally? Thanks!
  3. Hey folks - The latest version of Evernote for Palm is available in the App Catalog. Update to the latest version of Palm WebOS (an update was recently published) and then try out 1.0! New features include: [*:2vw0soec]Creating snapshot notes and camera roll notes from within the Evernote application and GEOtag your snapshot notes [*:2vw0soec]Pixi sized home screen [*:2vw0soec]To-do items supported [*:2vw0soec]Better support for offline note creation and editing [*:2vw0soec]Better support for managing notes within your pending queue [*:2vw0soec]Better support for large accounts [*:2vw0soec]Available in more languages
  4. I'm used to the android evernote app, where i can snap pictures (of say a recipe from a book) and upload them and then later open them on my phone and click on them and have them enlarge enough to read. I have been unable to figure out how to do this with evernote for the pre. Am I doing something wrong? Is there anyway to download the pic to the pre so it can be read in the photo viewer?
  5. Okay, I have to ask: now that Palm has announced the existence of the Plug-In Development Kit (PDK) that supports C/C++ apps, are there any plans to rewrite some or all of EN for WebOS using it? That would seem to provide some of the capabilities that would bring some parity to EN on other mobile platforms...
  6. Just out of curiosity: is there a limitation with the SDK or with WebOS itself that makes pinch-to-zoom impossible or very difficult in the Evernote app? I ask, because if there's one thing that makes the Pre app less than completely usable for me, it's the fact that any note with a picture or larger font (really, anything that's not a single column of text) becomes basically unreadable on the Pre. If one could zoom out on a note, it would be much, much more usable.
  7. I suppose this has already been addressed, but I just got on this forum, so if anyone has links please send them my way. I'm just curious when the next upgrades for the Palmpre version of Evernotes are coming? My buddy has an Iphone, and his version of the ap completely trumps mine, so curious as to when Palm is getting some ap upgrade love since I love the concept of this program.
  8. I have two new notes created on my palm pre and I can't sync them with my evernote account. I am online and can see all of my notes. I have a good wifi and cell connection. If I click the evernote menu I can go to the pending updates card were I can see the 2 notes but every time I click on the sync symbol at the bottom left of the window I get the same error message: "failed to sync pending notes". If I try to logout I get an alert that there are pending notes that will be lost if I logout. Can anyone help me to solve this? Thanks
  9. Hi. I had the previous version of Evernote installed since August 09, but after the WebOS update in late December '09 by Palm the application won't run on my Palm Pre. I can stil access my notes online but really the convenience is having my notes with me all the time on the Palm Pre. I tried uninstalling the app, and then going to the App Catalog to install the Evernote app. After the install a popup comes up "Restart Required, System Adjustments must be made beofre installation can continue" with buttons for Cancel and Restart. When I click Restart, it says "Updating the System - do not remove the battery" and then the Palm logo appears. After two minutes the Launcher comes up and I can see the Evernote icon but with a yellow warning sign on it and the app does not run. Clicking on it brings up instead the App Catalog with warnings next to several applications. What's going on? Is the current version of Evernote not compatible with the current version of WebOS from Palm?
  10. I see that there is no copy and paste. The other day, I had something I wanted to paste into Evernote, but was shocked to see no "paste" in the menu (it's there for other apps, albeit greyed out for apps where it doesn't make sense). This is standard, so can it please be added? Even if it's just text, it's better than nothing. However, ultimately, it should support anything that the Pre's "clipboard" can handle.
  11. Why would i receive the notification "Evernote is in offline mode" when I don't have EN running on my Pre? Does EN stay resident in the background? And if so, why? I don't know of any functionality that would require EN to keep running...
  12. I have been unable to use the Evernote client for Palm pre for sometime now. I stopped using it about a month ago because it kept timing out and was very unstable. I saw that there was an update a couple of weeks ago and decided to give it another go. However everytime I now attempt to login it gives me the error: Login Error Error: Failed To Sync Caches TRY AGAIN I've deleted the app and reinstalled it and it is 0.1.13 I believe. Any suggestions? thanks
  13. High level improvements: Evernote for Pre's offline operation is improved. It detects when the WiFi or cellular network becomes unavailable and allows the creation of notes offline. Several bugs including: better display of notes and the note lists; and improved note editing. Detail changes: [*:3kybh2gs]Users are notified when Notes are uploaded [*:3kybh2gs]The application functions better without network connectivity [*:3kybh2gs]Uses are notified when quota is reached (except when notes are email) [*:3kybh2gs]User can add tags without selecting them from the list [*:3kybh2gs]Pending note are correctly uploaded [*:3kybh2gs]Improved messaging about GPS usage [*:3kybh2gs]Users can create text notes offline [*:3kybh2gs]Returning to app logs you in automatically even when offline [*:3kybh2gs]Evernote uses SSL when appropriate [*:3kybh2gs]User can place Evernote in the quicklaunch bar and bring the app to the foreground if it's already running [*:3kybh2gs]Note titles and tags can have HTML characters [*:3kybh2gs]Users can use passwords with punctuation [*:3kybh2gs]Text note are saved when a user presses on Save button [*:3kybh2gs]List of notes is refreshed after add/delete operations [*:3kybh2gs]Note display is improved, the end of note has space at the bottom making room for application buttons [*:3kybh2gs]Thumbnail list view is displayed correctly [*:3kybh2gs]User are warned if they discard edits
  14. The latest version of Evernote has become unstable again, essentially not maintaining a connection to notes, sometimes showing their contents, sometimes not; sometimes remaining logged in, sometimes not; sometimes allowing editing of notes contents, sometimes not. I'm wondering, since the Pre has now been out for a few months and Evernote has gone through a few revisions: is WebOS that much more difficult to create a stable version for? Or is Palm holding back a release that might fix some of these issues? If an update can be provided on the Pre's Evernote client, that would be much appreciated. Thanks!
  15. After a couple of years with Windows Mobile, I just switched to the Palm Pre. Not sure if anyone else here has. One of the things I had to give up was an EN mobile client specifically made for my phone. I'm glad that the mobile website works, but it sure would be nice to have a dedicated client. I'm hoping that EN developers got a look at the Pre and have started doing some development for a version later this year. What say you, Dave? Now that the Pre is officially out, do you have an official EN position, other than that you are considering developing something at some time pending how much a success the Pre is in coming months? ;-) The claim is also that the Pre is fairly easy do develop for, but I haven't actually looked at the Mojo SDK...
  16. Are you guys currently working on an update for the Pre. just wondering if we can get any info.
  17. thanks for building the palm pre evernote client. as a matter of fact, this was one of the reasons i decided pro pre :-) what i'm really missing is the fact that i cannot browse notes based on notebooks. i dont have a huge amount of notes, maybe 200 or so - but this is far too much to list them all. what i need is the ability choose the notebook to browse in... should be just a liste drop-down box on the top of the page, shouldn't it? ;-) thanks a lot for considering this, jan
  18. when i send a picture from my pre to evernote I only see a thumbnail the picture won't enlarge. i am unable to read text because the picture won't enlarge. any thoughts? thanks.
  19. I tried the offline imap setup and all I got was my notebooks aka the folders and no notes would sync. Similar to the complaints from the Android platform before a imap server reboot. Tried POP and it wont even take the settings for the incoming server. I really want to pay for evernote and use it for everything but with no offline access this app is crippled. Really let down by this. I know imap/pop is unsupported so I guess I don't expect any answer.
  20. I'm a bit wary of doing photo uploads at the moment due to not (yet) having a premium account and no way to make anything but the original (~ 1MB) file to be sent. But anyway, there was just a tweet by @Tweed which seems to indicate that with 1.2, there might be new API hooks to do direct uploads of images without using email. Dave, you probably are aware of this already, but just wanted to let others know that perhaps the next update from you guys might have this functionality. I'm also hoping that those new hooks also have options for what size image to send...
  21. This is very frustrating. When I try to log into Evernote on my Pre, I'm told that I can't log in while offline. My phone isn't offline, so what does that mean? How do I go online? I am using the application, not the website. Thanks for the help.
  22. CAN I WRITE NOTES WITH MY FINGER ON THE SCREEN WITH MY PALM PRE ON EVERNOTE???
  23. Hi, EN was working fine this morning and now when i try to use it i get a message saying it's in offline mode. every few minutes i get a notification along the bottom of my screen that it's in offline mode. i've closed out all my cards and restarted, still happening. I've logged out and back in - still happening. Any suggestions?
  24. Will web clipper work on a Palm Pre? If so how can I put it on my Pre.? Thanks, John
  25. Is there a way to get EV web out of mobile mode on Pre's browser? It would seem that the Pre browser would give more functionality than a "Menu" and a "Search" that does not function in the Mobile web version.
