  1. Currently, there is a "hack" for notes that allows you to arrange them in any order you choose, with a super intuitive drag-and-drop. PLEASE make this a standard feature! The 'hack' allows you to take all notes in a notebook (or as many as you so choose), drop them in a reminder, and BAM, the order you want them is is stickied to the top of the notebook and editable at will. This allows the ultimate flexibility, especially for notebooks, because it sometimes people don't want 'INBOX' above 'PROJECTS' and below 'HOME.' Using renaming hacks is not intuitive, and makes thisng difficulty every time you add a new notebook. Drag and drop is super intuitive AND already available in other programs! (Like OneNote and ToDoIst). Please make it happen!
  2. I have a Microsoft Exchange account, so I am using Microsoft Outlook to interact with this Microsoft Exchange account. I have lots of contacts within Outlook, and many of these contacts have notes typed in the notes field within the contact record. Is there any intelligent way to have each of the outlook contacts that contain notes to become a new Notebook within Evernote, then with a new note in Evernote to contain the notes from Outlook?
  3. Hello, Wouldn't it be great if you could view your notes by the TYPE of clipping they are? Bookmark / Article / etc etc Please can we have more VISUAL WAYS to categorise our notes, too, not just tagging. Surely I am not the only visually organised person here. What else is possible?! Thanks! Petek
  4. Hi, I would like to see something like web-clipper work on PDF documents within Evernote. When I review large technical papers I like to highlight important blocks of text and then extract all the highlighted text from the document. I place this extracted text into a note to creating a summary file for future reference. Currently, I do this in Goodreader and then export all my highlighted text and comments and paste them into Evernote in a note or notebook. It would be good if I could avoid all the import and export between two products and do everything in one step in one product. Thanks for your consideration, Jim
  5. Hi I'm a free user of Evernote and recently had a problem with the notes on my mac disappearing. These notes were previously synced to the Evernote cloud/servers (confirmed after checking Evernote Web). However, I am unsure how to recover these notebooks/notes from the servers so that I can use them on my mac app instead.
  6. I uploaded a photo of a page from a book yesterday and am able to search for words in it. However, I uploaded a photo of both handwritten notes and printed text and cannot search for words in either. Can anyone help with why I cannot search for content in my two most recent photos? Thanks
  7. Not sure if I have the right place for this idea/suggestion/question. Has there been any thought given to increasing the maximum number of notes allowed in an Evernote Premium account? I believe it currently stands at 100 000 per account. I am some way off that amount, but I am approaching 50 000 notes. Is this something that may be considered in the future. This is something that I believe users will increasingly desire as the years go by. Thanks.

  9. One of my many use cases for Evernote is to store articles I've read or clipped from the Internet. However I find that I often want to make margin notes as I'm reading to reference later or see my train of thought. I'd love to have the ability to have a comment thread (like in a Google Doc) as a feature on an Evernote Note.
  10. Hello i want to update notes using php api. when i am going to update note not able to update but generating new notes. how to do this?? please help me thanks.
  11. I can see all my notes using my iPad and Iphone, however when I use my Mac, i only can see a few notes. Even the tags, I can see just a few using the Mac.
  12. Dear Evernote members, I am new to Evernote. What drew you to Evernote? How has Evernote impacted your life? I would like to know how it can help me. I love to use a planner, journal, and i do extensive research. I primarily use an Ipad Pro. I need to annotate as well as organize all the research as well as collaborate. What benefits would joining premium afford me? I would love to know the file types that can be migrated to Evernote. I want to use Evernote but i need lots of data. Hit me with it. CGT
  13. I can not figure out how to display three columns at the same time. Display a list of Notebooks, List of Notes and a selected notes all at the same time. My current view only shows List of Notes and the note contents. I need a way to dragging a note from one notebook to another notebook. I probably have modified my view of Evernote and can not remember how to go back to the default view. Thanks very much for your help. DickB
  14. I use Evernote mainly as a journal, and, at times, like to look back to specific dates. This is helpful for anniversaries, holidays, etc. Having a calendar feature across all devices and being able to recall notes on a specific date would be welcome addition to my Evernote experience. I looked around a little but didn't quite find this type of feature in the forum(s). Thanks for any suggestions and apologies ahead of time if similar requests have already been posted.
  15. In Evernote Desktop in Windows 7 there is a row of Titles above the list notes. On my Surface Notebook (Win 10) i don´t see it. It´s very useful for displaying Noteattributes and for sorting Notes. How can i make it visible? Thank You Alexandra
  16. I have tried from both my iPad and Safari web browser to send a note to 3 different email addresses. None are going through. Is anyone else having this problem. I am also unable to copy and paste the contents of that note from Evernote into Word. What happened to the easiest note taking product on the market??? I am an experienced Evernote user, have proficiency on Mac OS, Windows, iOS, and a wide variety of desktop and web-based applications. Any and all feedback is appreciated . . . getting ready to leave Evernote for good, just not the same any more! Why would I even consider paying for a subscription, when the free version is unable to do the bare bones basics?
  17. Dear all, I want to share one of my pdf document using a link. I want to know if who visits the link could see the date of the last modification of the paper, and if that date is shown forever. Moreover I want to be sure that they cannot modify that. Thus, sharing a note with a link, I want to know if: can people, visiting the link, see the note date of the last update? is the date of modification shown forever? is sure that no one can modify the note? Thanks
  18. I would like the ability to manually reorder sub tags within a parent tag. Also, the ability to manually reorder notes within a tag (that is, in a note list that is filtered by a tag). Here is why I think these are good ideas: In an information storage & retrieval system, there are two general themes, or approaches, to storing and retrieving data. Search based. The data itself can be unstructured, just a pile of notes, pages, documents, whatever. The users get the information they want by constructing search filters. Structured. The data is pre-organized by the user (or someone else) into sections, folders, etc, so that information is grouped and ordered in a meaningful way that adds to the usefulness of the information. In a paper world, think of pages of a book being grouped into chapters, and the pages ordered within each chapter. Which of these approaches is better? They are both good -- a good information retrieval system ideally would support both. Sometimes one approach meets the user's needs, sometimes the other. Note that the two approaches ar not mutually exclusive. The data can be structured, but still support flexible searches. People often say that Evernote is focused on the search-based approach. But really, with the hierarchical tag structure already in place, it also goes a long way toward the structure based approach, and extending it as I'm describing would be a great enhancement. It might be a lot for a casual user, but for a lot of more advanced users, it might be enough to push them to upgrade to premium. And I don't think it would be all that complex to implement, as I describe next... Here's how I think you could implement this in Evernote: For sub-tags under a parent tag: Somewhere in the Evernote database, there must be a table linking each sub-tag to its parent. You just need to add a property (column?) to this table with a Sequence Number. So that if a parent tag has 10 sub-tags, the sub-tags would be numbered 1 to 10. When the user drags and drops a tag to a new position within the parent tag, it's Sequence Number would be updated to that position, and all other sub-tags within the parent would be incremented. You already have the ability to drag and drop tags into different parent tags, so as for the UI, this would just leverage off of that. In fact, I see that when you drag a tag, there is already a horizontal insertion line as you move the tag -- it just doesn't do anything currently if you drop between tags (as opposed to onto a tag.) For notes filtered by a tag it could work in a similar way. But I would start with the tag-sub-tag structure, that would address a major part of the issue.
  19. When I save/convert a note to PDF (using the Evernote desktop program) which contains a photo, the photo will often be distorted/broken up in the resulting PDF, meaning that it'll appear in several separate portions. For example, a note that I create and attach a photo (which was taken with an iPhone 6 and attached in the Evernote app on my iPhone) will ultimately result in a three page PDF with the photo split up into three portions when I save/convert the note to PDF using the desktop Evernote program. Is there any way to prevent the photo(s) from being split up into separate portions when converting? I’ve attached a PDF of how the conversion appears when converted using the Evernote desktop program to illustrate the resulting conversion (Evernote Backup (converted to PDF in Evernote) REV.pdf) and another PDF of how it should appear and how it looks in Evernote prior to converting (Evernote Backup (as it appears in Evernote) REV.pdf). I have many notes with photos attached and typically back them up in PDF format but haven't been able to reliably save/convert the note when there are photos attached. I would really like to preserve the original look and format of the note. Here are some details about the software I'm currently using: Evernote Premium; Evernote desktop version 6.4.2.3788 (303788) Public; Windows 10 Home, version 1607, OS build 14393.447. Thanks! 20. I have decided to assign a year tag to new notes e.g 2016. Is it possible to setup en so that this tag is automatically assigned to new notes? I have taken a look at preferences, but nothing I could see.
  21. When taking notes it would be nice to have a permanent pen option (like Lotus Notes had, or maybe still has). This is convinient when for example you have taken notes in a meeting, but you want to add some comments (in another color) afterwards. Now you have to change the color of the text you typed individually.
  22. Hi there, Using the web-based Evernote application, I created a table in a new note. How do I edit the structure of this table ? Aka, how do I add/remove a line or a column ? Thanks for your help. Phil
  23. Is it correct that you cannot annotate an individual note in EN for the web? I know you can it do in EN for Windows. I don't know about EN for Mac. More generally, is there any "help page" that lists: Which EN features are available only on EN for Windows but not on EN for the web? and which EN features are available only on EN for the web but not on EN for Windows? Knowing all the various platform feature differences would help me as I develop a "workflow" to process about thirty-thousand notes.
  24. Hi, I accidentally overwrote a note with some information I really need to get back. I have a free account and thus i don't have access to Notes History. If I upgrade now, does anyone know if I will get access to Notes History of notes created and updated before becoming a Premium subscriber, or will Notes History only begin to accumulate after becoming Premium? Really need to get this back, any other help to doing so will also be greatly appreciated...
  25. I've been searching everywhere within Evernote and other apps for a way that I can both type class notes on my laptop and write over them with a pencil tool using my wacom pad (The little draw icon on everynote doesn't do anything on my mac). I want a way to type math definitions and such and then by hand right next to the text, write out the formulas by hand (Because typing all that mathy notation is difficult and tedious). Can evernote even do this? If not, what are some other application for mac that can? Thanks
