  1. I've created a notebook with all of the offices we work with across the country. I've added their office name and physical address to each note so that they will show up on the atlas and I can look at them in an interactive view. I have about 68 notes but only the first 12 are showing up. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks!
  2. I have created three tags (marketing strategy, conversion, and social media) and Evernote will only let me use the tag "marketing strategy" on all of my notes. This is the error screen that pops up anytime I try assigning a different tag onto a note: I've tried numerous ways to add the other two tags to the notebook and notes and it will not let me. If you have any advice, please let me know! Thanks
  3. I am new to Evernote. I did a quick search of the forums but did not see anything there that pertains to my question. Is there a way to make another font my preference when I type a note? The automatic default seems to be Arial. How can I change that? Are there other preferences that I can set for my notes? Thank you for suggestions.
  4. Hi to everyone, First I'm sorry about my english, I'm French. I'm using Evernote for about 2 years when I was in med school (switched this year to biology). In 2 years my workflow has changed many times because I want to go totally paperless. In some classes there are some math and chemical formulas and I like to type them instead of using a sheet of paper when this is not exceding a certain size. But I'm a bit perfectionist and I like to have beautiful formulas but writing them easily and in plain text. So here's my workflow : I'm using Emacs org-mode (which is similar to Markdown in term of markup language) and write my formulas in LaTeX. Org-mode can export the org file into multiple formats, like HTML, PDF or even ODT. So when I have a new lesson : I create a new org file that I put into a new Evernote note. I edit this file in Emacs, and changes are saved directly into Evernote. I write misc notes inside that Evernote note. At the end of each course I export it in PDF then put it in my note, so it's easily searchable. I put other docs, like lecture slides and scanned diagrams, into separate notes, then put links into the first one.I use this method too to write my WordPress blog articles and by exporting the org file in HTML... This method is convenient because the writing process during lecture is very, very fast, and produces great looking PDF with beautiful formulas. But it lacks of flexibility because to make my edits to the note searchable in Evernote I have to edit the org file, then export to PDF, then put it into Evernote. So I only use this method for lecture notes; for small notes I type them diretly into Evernote. Why I don't use Pandoc ? Pandoc is great but, on Windows, there is no editor that can export a file using it, and I don't want to use cmd every time I have to export a file. Also there's a pandoc-mode on Emacs but it doesn't like Windows paths... I hope my workflow will be helpful and I'd love to share thoughts with you on this topic.
  5. I'm coming over from Google Keep and I'm having a lot of trouble adjusting. I'm not so organized that I need everything to fit in a notebook -- I'd prefer that notes are just kinda there by default unless I choose to assign them to specific notebooks. I don't like having to force everything into a notebook immediately; sometimes a note is just a note and doesn't warrant an entire notebook being created for it. I made a "miscellaneous" notebook, but it's still just kind of frustrating, especially because it continually defaults all notes to a specific other notebook and I have no idea to change it. It just doesn't make a ton of sense to me given that there's a "notes" category and a "notebook" category, so it seems to me like you should have all uncategorized notes in the "notes" area and all categorized notes in their specific notebooks. Can someone help me out? Thanks!
  6. Hi to all, First, let me start to congratulate you for such a great team for developing this useful app. I've a doubt that I want to consult you. I use Evernote for a countless of things within my daily life, since a few years now, but mainly to track records of my monthly payments and invoices. Evernote is very useful for that purpose every time the registry is made in the same month of the invoice or payment belongs. However, when the work load complicate my calendar and I've no time to enter the invoices or payments for the corresponding month, that creates an issue for me when I can go back in track to enter the invoices that I couldn't enter the prior month. By the time I create the note it appears in the next month with no option to relocate it to the corresponding period causing that two invoices or payments mingle in the same month. E.g. It could be very useful if we can alter or change the date of the note and the app automatically reclassify the note for the correct month. This would be even greater for the functionality of the app for getting organized purposes. Once again, thank you very much for such a great app and work!!! Thanks in advance, Juan R. Rodríguez
  7. Hi there - not sure where to post this - can't find a support forum. When I opened Evernote today it upgraded to a new version, 6.0, automatically. Now I can see my notes but when I open them there is nothing there. Also can't type in a new note. Can add tags - that's it. I'm on a Macbook Pro. OS 10.9.5 Really messed up - my whole life and business is in Evernote. I've spent hours making files, writing in journals, saving pictures etc. I can't even think about losing all of that time, effort and not to metion all of my stuff! My client's info, passwords, records of phonecalls etc. Someone please tell me this is fixable??
  8. Hi, I used the desktop widget to write up an extensive note, clicked save and now its gone. I opened up Evernote and was asked to log in and update the app, which I did. Now I can't find this note anywhere??? I'm on Mac laptop running Yosemite. Please help! :( Thanks, Lars
  9. I am not sure where this question fits, so I am happy to be guided, or pointed at the right place within the forum. I use Evernote relentlessly for productivity. It would be nice to think "Getting Things Done on Steroids". I keep notes for every action. I regular make lists of notes, and lists of lists etc... for which Evernote is a perfect tool. Because of the way I work, maintaining an overview, and summarising my position is useful. Making a dashboard report out of the various Evernote parameters would be ideal. i.e. How many Notes are there in Notebook_A, how many notes are there tagged with both #TagA and #TagB. Therefore my question is as follows. Is there a way to access these parameters from any useful reporting front-end. This could be either Excel, Access, from within Wordpress, perhaps with shortcodes, or even straight HTML? Has anyone come across, or built any simple reporting application which uses Evernote Parameters to generate summary output that can then be manipulated? Many thanks, Karl.
  10. Hi everyone! I'm new to Evernote and I was wondering if there was a way to add additional information to items my notes that are lists without cluttering the look of the list. I know you can add as much as you like to a list including photos, links, and long form text, and that a more simplified version of what I am describing could be achieved by insetting bullet points under the primary list items with the additional information, pics, or links -- But I make a lot of lists and some of them are quite long and complex, so I was wondering if there is a collapsable version of this that would keep the list looking more streamlined and as a result easier to brows through and manage. I will give two short examples to further illustrate what I mean as I realize I may not be explaining it well. Say I have a very long list of movies I love, and with each movie I want to include a brief summary and my personal thoughts. I wouldn't really want to clutter it by having the descriptions and my thoughts (which could be lengthy) initially visible under each primary list item. Is there a way to have sub-notes (I don't quite know what to call it) which, by clicking on any given movie would expand out? Say I went on a vacation and made a list of all the cool places I went to and all the great restaurants I ate at. In this list I would want to include pictures for reference but if I included pictures under every item the list would look very bulky and become unwieldy. Is there a way to expand and contract the photos attached to specific list items so that they are not initially visible and the list can appear stream-lined?Thank you so much for your help and thoughts!
  11. It appears that encrypted text and shared notes are not compatible each other. Take this example note. The encrypted text icon shows up, as does the passcode hint if any when the icon is hovered over. However, there is no way to decrypt the text whatsoever, making the presence of the icon and its corresponding decryption hint useless. Would it be possible to incorporate text decrption from a shared note URL in the foreseeable future?
  12. I am new to Evernote and I am trying to understand the limits and capabilities of the different clients (ie iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows.) I have the premium version and I need to do a search from the home screen of the iPhone app that will search inside all notes(not titles). Is this possible?
  13. Dear fellow Evernote Users, I have trawled these pages looking for suggestions and i have found. However, nothing worked. Below is the message i sent to the Evernote support. I have a ticket and a number. I sent it on Jan 2, and haven't heard a "dickey bird" I have tried the "Poodle suggestions", i have tried the force syncing, i have tried taking out the *** & the <<< >>> from any notes that i can find, and i have tried uninstalling and re-installing etc. Nothing worked. I have been using the web version (Beta) since the 1st, but today because its taking so long to solve have had to revert to the previous web version. This is definitely affecting my workflow, and very hard to keep my GTD going (I Don't need any comments about using Evernote with GTD, i'm very happy with my system) "On Jan 1st afternoon my desktop version kept failing when syncing. I have the Web Version, this is up to date with no issues. I also have the Ipad and Iphone version, these two devices have no syncing issues. I have been onto the Evernote Forums and i followed some advice regarding changing Internet Options, un-checking SSL 2.0 & 3.0 and checking the TS ones. I also tried the force syncing. This actually did sync some additional things, but still not in line with the web version. I also saw where there were some conflicting issues, and i deleted those notes, I also deleted within any of my notes the symbols <<< >>> *** Today the problem still exists. So i followed the official evernote knowledge based support to re-install. I saved the file to back up, though i don't believe i have any LOCAL notebooks. (On that point, its very difficult to know which ones are LOCAL, and which ones are synced.) I have re-installed, and the syncing is still failing. Of course, i can still work off the web version, but i would appreciate your help in rectifying this problem I believe that as i have recently updated to "Premium" version, that the support will be quicker. I look forward to your help. I have attached 2 Activity Log files. The file Jan 02 is before re-installing The other file with same date is after re-installing. I have put this in the file name. I look forward to hearing from you. Since i sent the above, i have also been in contact with @evernotehelps. They tweeted me a couple of times, but since yesterday morning my time (South East Asia) it's all dried up. Since i tweeted them i have started to get some notebooks syncing but not the notes within the NB. Also, i got a stray email came into my inbox, but not every email. I am linked to Gneo, and the tasks that i put in there also synced. I deleted stuff from my inbox (web version) - that synced OK. I will copy and paste the last part of my activity log, i'm not sure how to read it but i imagine one or two of you out there might be able to .   15. I record frequent audio notes on evernote, but they are taking up too much space. Is there a way to take them off my iphone without deleting them from existence?
  16. With my daily usage in Evernote, I need notes to be in order of the header or subject name I get it and not organized by the last edit showing up first. For example, I may have a notebook with 500 notes. Each note is organized by a number. Not this way but simply put, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and so on. So when I open up a notebook it will display in order regardless of when I made an edit. Is there a way to do this? I really hope so. I know in notebooks it can be organized that way but how bout notes? Thanks for the help!

  18. I updated via the App Store yesterday to 6.0 and I no longer see the content of my notes. I can see all the note titles and even short description but when I open the actual note, the content is empty. In fact, it looks like the entire content pane in missing! I can't enter notes either. Trying to enter a new note displays the same thing; this blank content panel. I've checked the web and all my notes are present and the synching seems to work fine; it's just a missing content pane. Any ideas?
  19. Hi everyone, Since downloading Evernote 6, I have been unable to see the notes I have previously created and (I assumed) saved. I can see the title, and occasionally a note will download seemingly by its own free will, but existing notes are not there when I start up the app, as they were before. Extremely frustrating when I need to access the content of the notes. Anyone have the solution? Thanks, Louise

  21. I have a question around using evernote as an engineering logbook. Currently I use hand written notes and would really like to utilize a software like evernote. I would like to know if there's a way to lock the note entry when I am finished with it, so that no more edits can be made. Basically if it came down to it and I needed to used my notes in a lawsuit or a claim, that there would be no way that my notes could claimed to be altered. I see that there are time stamps, but these can be changed so it doesn't really help with this issue. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I have been looking for quite a while for an app that can easily help me make notes on conversations I have had with many individuals throughout the week, which in return will help with better networking. Here is an example of what I mean: I meet Bob. Bob tells me where he is from, where he works, about his family, etc. He gives me his contact information At the end of conversation I write his contact in my phone. After he is gone I turn on android phone and write notes about conversation. A week goes by and I am expected to meet this person again. I can't remember the information he told me. I search his name in Evernote and the notes about the conversation we had is easily found. Now Google contacts does have a place for notes, but there is a bunch of steps to find the note section. I also can't make reminders with that information. If this can be accomplished where I can keep all my notes on my contacts as part of Evernote system it would make interactions others and networking much easier!
  23. Hi, I am big into taking digital notes. I have traditionally used Microsoft Onenote along with Dropbox to annotate and sync all my school notes. I am wanting to make the move to Evernote for Windows due to frustration over various technical bugs, but I am finding that it lacks what I need it to do. I am in a professional post-grad program and currently I download all the the different class notes and import them to Onenote. These notes are either Word, powerpoint, or PDF format. Onenote automatically converts the file into a pdf format and places the whole file in view on the note (not a link). From that point I am able to draw over them to annotate, highlight sections, or add text. I would like to be able to do this with Evernote/Skitch. Is there a way to easily be able to import different files, have their contents display in evernote (without converting to a picture format), then be able to annotate over / on them and save back to evernote??? I would also like to be able to add audio notes that correlate to different sections of my notes. For example a professor might be going into a lot of detail over a powerpoint slide and I would just like to have audio that links to that slide. Please help

  25. I have been using evernote for the past year on my laptop and not using an account. This semester I have also been taking notes on evernote and my entire school life was recorded on it, notes from class, notes from my readings, important essay notes, AND now they are all gone. I logged onto my account not thinking that literally everything would be deleted and I would have to start anew. It is currently midterm season and I am currently freaking the heck out. Please someone come to my rescue. I won't be able to survive the next month or finals during december without these notes!! ANY help would be appreciated.
