  1. Hi, I may be naive, but was using Evernote on the web and had hundreds of notes there. I had a free account. I just logged on and all but 2 notes are gone and there is nothing in the trash. I can't find a way to recover them. I upgraded so I could get some help, but in the meantime can someone tell me if they are gone for good? I did not have them backed up. Are they somewhere on Evernote servers? It is definitely a glitch on Evernote's part. Yesterday, I was asked if my email was correct and I said yes and thought all was good. Perhaps that did something? Please any help is appreciated!!!
  2. Hey guys! I've got a question about the premium product. Currently I use evernote to keep track of what I did at work the previous day, & things I need to do so that I can read it out during daily meetings. I usually read off of my phone. Somehow the other day I managed to delete all of the note content except the top page worth. No idea how I did this, but I did, & closed the app out on my phone, and now it's gone. Would upgrading to the premium edition give me the history for the note so I can restore it, or would history only start being tracked at the point I signed up for the premium edition? Thanks guys
  3. I wish to use Evernote for tasks regarding a potential startup and personal things. How I can be 100% sure that my content that can be action plans, requirements, comments are not read by someone in Evernote team or partners? Thank you, Antonio
  4. I just noticed earlier when visiting one of my shared public links that the display font size is about 14pt. I would prefer a font size congruent with that of my browser display settings, typically 10pt to 12pt. 14pt is a wasteful consumption of space, but there seems to be no way to control this? While on this topic, the rigid margins are also wasteful. Coupled with the giant font, it presents as a really narrow page, no matter the browser width, with unnecessarily large text and unnecessarily wide margins, which causes multiple line wraps extending the length of the note and, imo, making things more complicated. Let me control my own font sizes and margins. I'll zoom the page if the font is too small, and make the window narrower if it's too wide. This move makes it seem like something one would see on a child's tablet, or an accessibility setting with screen zoom. If I want a tablet look, I'll use the tablet. The intent may be to make the page cleaner and simpler this way, but it's a step backward in usefulness, imho, and makes what should be a simple display a bit overwhelming. Attached are a couple of examples for clarification. Note the horizontal scrollbar in the screenshot of an actual note example. (longer image file) This also serves as an example of the lack of margin control and wide margins/narrow usable note/page space. Not particularly desirable. The smaller image is a screenshot from the Evernote Support Page. I've typed a markup notation in 14pt on the full resolution screenshot of this page. Unnecessarily large, same as the web view for shared notes. Why? Love Evernote, long time paid user, but some of these changes don't make sense. Change for purpose of improvement is welcome. Change for the sake of change is wasteful. Seems like the Developers end up having to reach for ideas just to have something to present, and some of them are a sidestep or step backward, imho. Should be about refinement at this point. Stop trying to innovate constantly; it's unnecessar. Evernote's pretty solid. Some of these changes are all over the place, seemingly without any apparent reason, and it's annoying at times.
  5. Hello, Very frustrated old guy here. I have an HTC one (m7 i think) I use my notes very very much on my phone, my notes on this phone ARE my memory! Last night my phone must of automatically upgraded to a newer operating sys. Now ALL my notes are gone! Also a prompt pops up saying I must use Evernote! THIS IS BULLSHIT!!!! I do not want Evernote! All I want are my notes back & a very simple note app. I have 2 Evernote accts. I logged into both and none of my notes show up. (i have tried this app in the past, I HATE IT!) I also sync Evernote account in my phone & still none of my notes are there! OMG, I need my notes back! Please help. Thanks John
  6. Hello, Evernote community! I am the developer of Call Notes Pro android app and happy Evernote user for years. Call Notes Pro displays the note and other contact info during the call. The application is a must have one for those who communicate a lot with new people and who have a long list of contacts. It is simple CRM for your contacts. You could check this video for details: There are two types of notes in the app: contacts, stored in the address book and in-app notes. Evernote sync for in-app notes was added in the latest version. This feature is currently in alpha. There are no known issues, but I can not say that it was tested enough. Sync done via «App Notebooks» Evernote API feature so all your data should be safe and secure. I am will be happy with any feedback about issues, bugs or any sync improvements. Please post them here or mail me to: help@nikanorov.mobi The app available on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nikanorov.callnotespro -Andrey
  7. Greetings! I forward emails to my Evernote. This is the majority of info that I store in Evernote. I created a notebook, named it "New" and made it the default thinking that everything that I emailed into Evernote would go there first and I could sort it all out later and move notes into the appropriate notebooks. It worked for a little while but then Evernote started started to put emailed notes wherever it wanted to which was usually in the wrong place. Now I have to go into the subject of each email and add "@New" to make sure it gets into the "New" folder which is a pain and eats time. Is Evernote somehow looking at the content of the emails and trying to decide the most appropriate notebook to send the email to? It's not working!!! What is the point of having a default notebook if Evernote disregards it?
  8. I might be insane but it appears for the app there is no functionality to edit a note. This is insane, right?!?! And I don't mean the location or title, but the actual note. I want to add new images to an old note (and maybe descriptive text) and there is no "pencil" edit icon and conveniently the Evernote support answer on creating and editing notes has absolutely nothing on EDITING. Nothing even comes up remotely relevant when searching for editing notes. Absurd! I used Evernote Food for years and got dumped back into Evernote and I'm officially hating the app more than life right now. If editing exists it is SO incredibly not intuitive.
  9. Hi There. Is There a way to download the whole notes once and for all? Or do i have to do IT manually one by one? Thanks for your help.
  10. Hi there, I am using iOS and Firefox. When I make a change on my phone, the changes do not show up on my browser unless I refresh the page. Is that how it's supposed to be? Thanks, Chad
  11. I've been trying to synch multiple images as notes from my iOS, but when they show up on my Mac, they have been lumped into one big note. I need each image to be a separate note. Is there a way to separate them on my Mac, or can I only synch them one at a time? Thanks!
  12. Is there a way to add code such as $>this code block right here it would be super useful since I store my programming notes in here. I don't want to change the font size and indent everytime. If this isn't available please add this on. I know many others would benefit. Also, if you guys could team up with Beaker Notebook since they have the coding version of this. If you could collaborate with them it would be HUGE!
  13. When I search for a text inside the image note using search icon on the right-top - it doesn't find anything --> it doesn't work. I've consulted this with the support team and this is not a bug - this functionality is missing in the iOS app. It works perfectly on the Web app or the Desktop app - but not in iOS. If I use global search from the main screen and if I have a note with dozens of images, it's almost impossible to find the correct image with the highlighted text without having possibility to do "find next/previous". For the Evernote rep, here is the support ticket# 1602334
  14. Hi! I need to re-organize my Evernote and can't seem to find a way to move more that one note at a time to a new notebook. I am on Mac. I tried "Command" click but that won't select more than one note at a time. Is there a way to do this?? I have 100's of notes I need to move to a different notebook. TIA! - Chel
  15. Hey guys! Is there any way to print my notes from ipad? P.S.: I'm new here so if the topic like this already exists than just send me a link please. thx for help
  16. I have been using Evernote (rather than Apple Notes on my iPhone) simply because I wanted to put specific notes in alphabetical order. I have been successfully doing this but have done it during a period when I've also been on a free trial of the 'Premium' service. The trial is coming to an end and I want to know whether if I return to the Basic service I will lose the alphabet structure and or my work! As you can probably guess I really am not a 'high end' user and barely know what all the other purported benefits of Premium Service mean (The comparison tables don't answer my question). Can anyone advise me? Many thanks.
  17. I'm new to EN and my account shows I have 948.9 MB (92%) remaining this month but, when I add a new note and try to add tags to it sometimes it will allow one and sometimes none. Why is that and How do I fix it? Thank you for your help. g
  18. Hello, im not sure if this has been discussed before but is there a way to automatically organize my notes based on tags? say i take a couple of pictures as business cards, i would like, that by adding a tag to that note it automatically would move itself to a specific Notebook ( Business Cards ), is this possible ? I've tried looking for a recipe on IFTTT and haven't found any, i hope this is clear and if theres is already a method of doing this a tutorial or link is appreciated, Thanks
  19. Scenario: An existing note with images in it: (image a, image b, image c, image d). Note has been saved in evernote. Open image for edit. Put cursor between image a and image b. Select "add attachment: camera". Snap three pictures: (image e, image f, image g). Click check mark to return new images to note. New note structure: image a, image e, image b, image f, image c, image d, image g. Expected note arrangement: image a, image e, image f, image g, image b, image c, image d. The scenario described above is very specific but is meant to be abstract. This behavior occurs regardless of cursor placement, unless cursor placement is at the end of the note in which case all new images will appear in the expected order following the last image in the original note version. It occurrs regardless of how many images (two or greater) are in the original note version and how many images (two or greater) are added in the edit. Reproducability: This happens every single time you perform these steps. Work arounds: Open note for edit. Place cursor after image a. Add new attachment: camera. Snap one picture. Click on check to add image. Make sure cursor is after image e. Add new attachment: camera. Snap one picture. Click on check to add image. Make sure cursor follows image f. Repeat steps until finished. Note structure will be as expected. In other words, adding images one at a time seems to be the only work around. This is not a "good" work around IMO. Thanks, bill.
  20. How is it possible to have an autocomplete of the email adresses of my adress book or at least of the email adresses already used in evernote. For the work chat this is working in evernote but not for the "copy via Email" sharing option. It takes a long time to always look up the correct email adress in outlook and copy it to evernote. I would appreciate help with that topic! BR, Jens 3. 22. Hello Evernote users! Announcement: We are excited to be featured in the Evernote AppCenter Travel section and Top #50 Productivity in the US & Canadian iOS AppStores. Ways to get the iOS app worldwide: 1. http://ideaplaces.com/download 2. Search "Ideaplaces" in the Apple app store. We have been working incredibly hard to build a new iOS app called IdeaPlaces. It provides a new way to use Evernote by linking your notes to locations on a map and providing a way to explore them visually. As Evernote users ourselves we really believe that one of the most valuable things in the Evernote experience is context. With each thought written down, to-do created or photo taken, we believe there is tremendous value in showing contextual information around anything created. Also, we have worked hard to facilitate the sharing of notes and context in the most seamless way possible, during the note creation process. App summary and why it matters to Evernote users: http://blog.ideaplaces.com/ideaplaces-app-a-new-way-to-experience-evernote-around-places/ ——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Here are screenshots and explanations of the features to give you a good idea of how it works. Visualization of notes After you link your Evernote account to IdeaPlaces your notes are sync'd and you can view all of them from points on a map. This allows you to explore all of the notes you have that contain location meta data. You can even create places and attach notes to them. By doing this, any note added to a place will then have the location meta data of that place. We have integrated with two main API's: Foursquare and Google Places. Ability to create robust notes quickly. Sharing integrated in the process. We have realized that creating notes from your phone has to be simple or users simply wont take notes from their device. This is why we worked hard on creating an incredibly fast way to create notes. Right from the visual map screen you can tap on the create note icon or wave the phone on any screen to start the note creation process. The note creation process allows you to add and edit the following: Title Location (pre-input & editable) Users to share the note with (text or email) Standard text Photo's (multiple sizes) Notebooks (including shared notebooks) Tags Location-based reminders To-do based notes and shopping reminders are easy to forget, but with location based reminders we are hoping to make them a thing of the past. In the note creation process simply set the location and tap reminder to make sure you get notified the next time you are in a 75m radius. Location enhanced notes Understanding the context of the note while you are actually viewing the note is important for you or anyone you share the note with. This is why we have enhanced all of the notes viewed or shared within the app with both google map and street view. These images link directly into google maps and provide an easy way to get back into IdeaPlaces. Feedback and beta testers We are looking for passionate users of Evernote like us to test our application and help us with feedback. If you would like to help this app evolve into a truly amazing Evernote experience we would love your help. Here is our contact email to request a free coupon code or become an active tester on Testflight. signup@ideaplaces.com http://www.ideaplaces.com Download the app on the iOS app store now! We are actively developing the application and can guarantee a response within a few hours. We are still in the early stages of this app and believe that it can have a tremendous impact on the way that users use Evernote now and in the future. We can't wait to see what this will become! Let us know what you think and if you have any comments or suggestions post below! Thanks
  23. i just used the notation feature on a PDFs on my iPad for the first time. After placing a little arrow note and navigating to another program, whenever I try to reopen Evernote, it crashes. I tried quitting the program and reopening, but each time it crashes and I can't seem to use it anymore. Ideas?
  24. Saved a screenshot of something I'm working on writing. Would really love to see a feature where the words of the saved screen shot is read aloud. Instead of just reading the saved note, really want to hear it. Can someone get on this?
  25. I want the text files I create in a folder on my Dropbox to be synced as notes on Evernote. I also want edits to those notes to sync back to Dropbox, if possible.
