  1. Where did all the right-click functionality on stacks and notebooks go??? why can't I create a new notebook in a stack from the left menu pane anymore? Now I have to click on "Notebooks" then "create notebook" then move it to the stack....it used to be so simple, why change such a basic feature???? Boy, am I ever sorry I upgraded my Evernote :( Is there a way to revert back to the previous Windows version?
  2. Hello I hope I am posting in the right place. I have been an Evernote user for a long time. I'm not able to script and for the most part I'm just happy to borrow little snippets of things. Anyway, I've noticed some changes with the new build and suddenly the script I was using to transfer files to Evernote no longer works. I use Hazel to trigger certain actions, including adding files to Evernote. Until a couple of days ago. For example, I had this script: tell application "Evernote" activate «event EVRNcrnt» given «class kfil»:theFile, «class Ennb»:{"French"},
  3. I'm currently engaged (Windows desktop) in setting up notebooks in a stack, basically going through my default notebook, identifying notes that have a common factor, then creating a notebook into which to move the notes. Something along the lines of 'zero inbox' I'm looking to have a logical place for every note I have. I find a note that has a factor I recognise has occurred several times - a name, an account number, an email address and do a search to find out how many notes I have which include that term. If I have more than a few I'll create a new notebook with that term as
  4. Hello, New to Business Evernote, I also have the basic evernote for my personal use which I switch between with business. I just signed up, and am starting to organize information. I created some notes and somehow they all got duplicated. I tried to delete/remove the duplicate notebooks but the remove/delete are grayed out on all of them. Even the default notebook I'm unable to delete. Help!
  5. Hi, In first I want congratulate the Evernote staff for the idea and bring the web application more close to the desktop version. Back to topic , the organization on side bar under notebooks in alphabetical order is not comfortable, specially when using on the desktop version notebooks organized under stack. It takes time to find the right notebook and also with tens of notebooks some names are similar but belong to different topic. Will glad to see improve on that.
  6. This does not have to do (directly) with the remake but I think it is worth flagging: I take notes and was using the Evernote business notebooks. They are no longer available. I purchased the smaller version of the notebook. The reminder icon has disappeared - it was useful Suggestion: I think it would be nice to have an edition of the notebook without the 3 months subscription: For those who have a subscription it makes no sense to purchase them. How about a template (A4/A5) that can be used as an alternative to the notebooks if they are being phased out? The App would recognize
  7. I have a large number of Notebooks (100+, one for each client I work with) and am constantly jumping between them on a daily basis. On the sidebar, I have to scroll up/down to find the notebook I'm after. I'd like to be able to just click into the sidebar on any random notebook and start typing and have the sidebar scroll and highlight the closest match. Just like you can on a folder list in Windows/MacOS. It would make life sooooo much easier. A keyboard shortcut to move the active screen area to that sidebar to begin typing would be nice as well.
  8. http://www.harmonenterprises.com/blog/organize-evernote-notebooks Thought I'd throw some chum in the water for the relentless notebook sharks. I'm one of those taggers who uses very few notebooks, based on access (local, synchronized, shared, offline), not content, but I have to admit that Harmon makes a compelling argument, especially since tag organization cannot currently be viewed on all platforms.
  9. Hello, 3 questions: 1. I created my 9 notebooks in Penultimate and then they synced to Evernote ... and when I go to Evernote I see all of the notebooks with notes but I can’t update the notes ..... how do I update notes in Evernote??? 2. Although I can see all of the notebooks in Evernote I still only see some of the notebooks in Penultimate...why is that? 3. How can I assign noteS in Penultimate to notebooks in Evernote or Penultimate? thank you in advance !1
  10. PLEASE give users an option to view their notebooks in multi columns like you used to. This single column is inefficient. Give us a choice of how we want to view our notebooks. You give us this option with our notes. Please do the same with notebooks. Thanks!
  11. I am proposing using Evernote as an LMS of sorts; to provide guided notes and rich class materials, and encourage students to have digital notes for future reference. I want to create a notebook for each student; this way I can see if they are taking effective notes and ease the submission of assignments (we have only 20 students per term maximum). So I am wondering; if you share a notebook with a student, can you effectively "turn over" the notebook to the student so that it is theirs to have at the end of the term? It would help me by not bumping into the notebook limits over time.
  12. For the love of all things organized, please let us duplcate notebook names. I have... Work Stack > Notes > Projects > To Dos Personal Stack > Personal Notes > Personal Projects > Personal To Dos The problem with this is that shortcuts get cut off and, being dyslexic and not wanting too many words to skim through, I use 'personal' to produce a unique notebook name but as a pre-fix so I can ignore it. Can you just wrap the notbook UI with whatever we call it and on the back end identify it as <stack>:<notebook> or s
  13. Using Tags as Pseudo Notebooks (pNB) [Note: At the urging of another user, I have started a new topic for this subject. I posted the below originally in Jan 2016. I am in the process of rewriting, fine-tuning this article, but for now the below is a copy of my original post at Using Tags as Pseudo Notebooks . The basic design of pNB has not changed.] My knowledge of how to use Tags continues to evolve. This has been largely due to limitations Evernote has placed on Notebooks. So, the question is: How does one make the best use of the tool they have? Notebooks (NB) are
  14. I think a glaring absence is the ability to put stacks inside of stacks. I would to have a "Work" stack that I can then add another stack underneath like "Personnel" with Notebooks inside that stack. I know you can nest things deeper on tags, but it's not nearly as convenient or efficient. Some of my notebooks need to be stacked inside of a stack.
  15. I am trying to create stacks in Evernote Web. The instructions say to simply drag one notebook on top of another to create a stack. But I am unable to drag any notebook. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? I am an organization freak, and not being able to do this is driving me nuts! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!
  16. Hello When I started with evernote, I didn't study well how to organize notebooks and tags. So i did it a little bit spontaneous, as much people do. As a result, i have a lot of unusefull tags and i have notebooks who should be tags. After a few months i understand I have to reorganize my notebooks and tags. I have a lott of notes and a lot of tags, when i must do this, note by note and tag by tag this is impossible for me. For the notebooks, it is not a problem since it is easy to take all the notes in a notebook and put it in another notebook.in one action.
  17. I have need of more than the limit of 256 notebooks at top level. Any plans to increase this limit without going to a business account?
  18. In 2014 I asked for the ability to generate a list of notebooks each user has joined in an Evernote Business account. Has this come to fruition yet? My original request stemmed from staff changes, and setting up the "new person" with the same notebooks their predecessor had. Now, I'm shuffling corporate employees' access with multiple Evernote Business accounts. This would really be helpful. Perhaps an add on to the admin console? Has anyone found a way around this?
  19. Ever since EN changed the layout of the Notebooks page, it has been a frustration for finding a single Notebook. However, it would be a GREAT help if the top of the Notebook page had a "Collapse/Expand All Notebooks" option. It would render a quicker scrolling and finding. Just a suggestion for making EN better.
  20. Dear Devs On the iPhone, I have noticed that "Recent Notebooks" area's do not represent the recent notebooks that have been used. Could the "Recent Notebooks" in "Move Note" area and the "Notes" tab be enhanced to update more effectively? Here is a screenshot of the "Move Note" area I am talking about: https://thesecretweapon.tools/temp/20171229-recent-notebooks-needs-to-update-more-effectively-move-note.JPG Here is a screenshot of the "Notes" tab area I am talking about: https://thesecretweapon.tools/temp/20171229-recent-notebooks-needs-to-update-more-effectively-notes-tab.JP
  21. Initially I tried this in Personal Edition but not available and I don't yet know if it is available in Business edition as of yet because I first wanted (assumed) I could export all my content and that content is divided to Notebooks. Each Notebook is an area of specific research. If I'm researching Microsoft Server 2016 and SCCM that would be different than Exchange 2016. Those are two notebooks. If I share one or the other with others it needs to be related just to those specific topics and not have any notes of anything unrelated. Lot of notebooks, lot of shares. I have concluded
  22. I'm using EN Business in my law practice to help synthesize facts from a case file. I keep case file documents in one notebook, and build case facts in another notebook. The limitation is that it is difficult to toggle back and forth between my documents notebook and my facts notebook. To open a document, I have to go to one notebook; but to create a fact, I have to go to another notebook. Back and forth, back and forth. Sometimes I will use the web interface. But that is limited because the shortcut keys are different or unavailable, there is no highlighting function, sorting functions a
  23. I arrange my notebooks in stacks, for example I have a stack called tasks, and within that stack I have Work Tasks, Home Tasks, etc as separate notebooks. In the desktop versions of EN you can see all notes in a stack by selecting that stack. So I can see all my tasks by selecting the task stack. However in the iOS apps you have to select individual notebooks within a stack. It would be great, for consistency across the versions, and functionality if this way of working could be added. Should be fairly easy as essentially that’s what the ‘all notes’ does but for all
  24. I'm getting back to Evernote after sometime away and trying to reorient myself. I'm mostly using the web version, on Chrome and/or Firefox. I can't figure out how to expand my viewing of the notebooks to fullscreen, or even just to widen that window, the way you can expand a note to fullscreen. Some of my notebooks have a bunch of notes within them and I'd like to be able to quickly glance over the contents of the notebook. How do you view a notebook fullscreen?
  25. Hi-My husband is using the free version of Evernote on his Mac. We can't figure out why he just has the Notebook icon and not the list of the different notebooks. If he clicks on the notebook icon he sees the list but that list is not in the Sidebar. Thank you for the help. I am sure that there is an easy answer for it but we are puzzled. I use Evernote all the time and don't have this problem. Ugh. He is very frustrated which frustrates me... lol
