  1. Hello, I have over thousands of notes. Each note starts with a date and then the Title, like " 20180323 Title". This I have to insert manually. There is a shortcut option SHIFT-CMD-D, however the date format that I need is not in there! Can you please add the date format YYYYMMDD to the date options? Can you also create an option where a note title can start automatically with the date field YYYYMMDD? This really makes Evernote much more efficient. The impact on other user's functionality is nearly zero. So that should not hold you back on this one! Best, Dirk
  2. The "Tool Size" feature seems to have no effect on the size of stamps. I am trying to markup screenshots of charts and graphs, and since the stamps are set to an obnoxiously large size, it makes it virtually impossible to use them in this way. They would be an awesome tool for what I'm trying to do (e.g., making flashcards with the "?" stamp) but until I can make them a lot smaller it's just not going to happen =/ Is there a way to change the size of stamps? (If not, there definitely ought to be!) Thanks!
  3. I installed the newest versions of Evernote on my Mac Pro (Sierra) and iPad & iPhone (iOS 10.2) and when I take a picture and update Evernote, a new note with the correct title shows up, but not the picture I took. To be more specific, photos do not show up at all on the laptop, and only in the preview pane on the iPad. The title shows up, and date stamp, but no photo. Can you help me with this? Please see partial screenshot below. "Note" should contain a photo of lyrics, but contains nothing. The note title "Checks" contains nothing, either. If it's any kind of clue, the EN icons for all devices show a red circled "2" but there's no immediate indication in the apps what I am presumably being notified of. TYVM.
  4. A format painter is desperately needed! I am transitioning from OneNote to Evernote... and I had to put the brakes on. Certain notes need formatting and it is horribly time consuming to have to do so much manual formatting.
  5. I have really loved using Evernote over the years and have over 5500 notes in it, but this seems to be now causing lots of issues. I have several different macs with Evernote installed on them, but more and more I am finding the software becoming consistency unresponsive and sluggish to do anything. Specifically in recent times I am getting an error about the content not being available and to try again, even though the computer is online. It is getting more and more to the point where I am going to have to find an alternative - I suspect that the issue is that the application data is getting too large for the systems to cope with it properly.
  6. Is there a way to change the table's line colour and background within evernote?? Thanks in advance
  7. How can I login into Skitch with my Evernote account, which I create with google account? It seems that Skitch doesn't know anything about my Evernote account by Google. That way I can't log in.
  8. When annotating a PDF in Evernote 6.9, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to continue annotating a PDF that was previously annotated. Is anyone else seeing this problem?
  9. Striking through text is too much of a pain. I am using the latest version of the Mac desktop software.
  10. Desde ayer tengo una nota que, cada vez que la intento editar, lanza el mensaje: "Note content is invalid" y no guarda el cambio que he hecho. ¿Pueden ayudarme? Since yesterday I have a note that, every time I try to edit, it sends the message: "Note content is invalid" and it does not save the change that I made. Can you help me? Evernote version: 7.0.2 (456267 App Store)
  11. Hi Folks Evernote for Mac 7.12 is now available. You can download it here. New: Security update Fixed a crash that occurred when importing a previously exported web clip note Other Changes Version 7.12 and updates going forward will only support macOS 10.13 or higher. Enjoy!
  12. Recent premium user after using evernote free for 4 years and just ran into this issue where I used the evernote app for OSX and created a fairly lengthy note full of bulleted lists with varying degrees of indentation in sub-headings. All looked good and formatted to my liking, but as soon as I opened this note in the web browser (from a Linux machine where there is no evernote app) the whole indentation levels were lost. It went from something like: foo bar baz za za gabor to foo bar baz za za gabor Hoping there is a solution or workaround for this as a new premium user (less than a week) I am terribly unhappy and bitter that this simple issue is undermining the simplest usecase I had for evernote which motivated me to pay.
  13. I have Evernote V5.5.1 free version on a Macbook OSX6.8 History: Downloaded & Worked with evernote 2 years ago for a couple of months, I abandoned it though because I found it had a few synch bugs, and I found the layout & workflow unattractive & quite complicated. I have a new work project now & wanted to give evernote another try!. ISSUE: When I launched evernote I REALIZED THAT IS NOT RESPONDING PROPERLY... 1) When I go to sidebar, and click on a specific notebook (I have 23 Notebooks on the sidebar) nothing changes on the filters notes list section. It always shows all the notes, instead of the only the notes nesting inside that specific notebook 2) At the bottom of the sidebar the word "Connecting" appears almost permanently (with the exception of when I manually synch evernote). 3) I moved a couple of notes, from one book to another, however instead on only moving them evernote also left a copy in the notebook the notes originally nested! ? Solution: Is this normal? Should I reinstall evernote? If I do, can I save the already existing notes? any other solution to fix this erratic behavior?
  14. I transcribe my Evernote audio notes once a week from within Evernote, pressing play on the audio note and then transcribing right below. However, sometimes I need to pause the audio to catch up. Taking my hands off the keyboard to press 'Pause' with the mouse is extremely inconvenient and I cannot seem to find a keyboard shortcut to pause the audio. Is there a keyboard shortcut to pause Evernote Audio Notes on the Mac Evernote client?
  15. If so, how do I access it? I thought I saw an article for my client's (Outlook (Win) environment) indicate that a plugin is now available and one exists for Mac as well. Is this true?
  16. Apologies if this was already discussed somewhere, but I can't seem to find it anywhere so here goes: Just recently, my laptop's hard drive crashed, and I attempted to save my system files by copying over my Library to an external drive. Attempting to restore my "current" Evernote onto my new drive (by pasting the old Library) worked out fine, however the long list of notes I had stored in the "quick-note"/clipper (on the toolbar) seems to have disappeared, and I don't know where I can recover it — actually, is there a way to recover what was written in the quick-note/clipper? Was there a backup made somewhere? I've located a file named "quick-note-preserved.obj", but I can't seem to open it with anything. Do I have to import it somewhere? If it helps, I'm a macbook pro user, and the application was downloaded from the "app store" on this laptop. Thanks for your help TT.TT Just any way to view the information will do....
  17. Hi there, I am finding Evernote for Mac extremely useful, but there is one issue which is problematic for me. When I drag a PDF into a note, it always zooms to fill the window. When I right-click on it I see that "Automatically resize" is selected. When I change that to "actual size" the PDF goes back to its proper size. I would like "actual size" to be the default setting for all added PDFs. Is there a way to set this as a default?
  18. I remember previous versions of Skitch having a way to prevent the "Created with Skitch - http://evernote.com/skitch"message being appended in the body of the email when you share a Skitch with someone. I don't see any way to keep that from being added every time. Am I missing something or is Evernote forcing me to do extra work if I don't want my email to advertise their product?
  19. Hi Folks, Evernote for Mac 7.11 is now available to download. You can get it here. Fixes and Improvements: Fixed a data migration error that some users encountered after upgrading to 7.10 Fixed an issue where Evernote helper displayed null as keyboard shortcut. Fixed an issue where a recorded audio note that was shared via email would not play in MacOS Mail Fixed an issue where EvernoteSpotlight prompted for a password Enjoy!
  20. Hi Here we see a list of keyboard shortcuts for Evernote for Mac. Each note can have a URL associated with it, visible in its Note Info, then you can click on "View Site" to open that URL. I think it would be useful if that primary hyperlink could also be opened by using a keyboard shortcut when focused on the note in a list view or (particularly) when editing it. I ran a check and couldn't see this having been discussed or implemented yet.
  21. I'm beginning to use Evernote Clipper to save my bookmarks, but was looking for a way to import my existing bookmarks from Chrome, without having to clip every. single. one. I don't really know how to code, so Applescript, etc. was out for me. But I figured out this work around. It requires signign up for a few things, but once you're done, you're done! and the import is quick. Note: This is a crude import system. You may not get pictures imported with the links, or tags automatically added (other then from what you set in IFTTT). It's quick and dirty, but gets the job done. Also, this will probably work with services other than Pocket, that's just the one I already an account with. In your browser, export your bookmarks into an HTML file. Login or create account at getpocket.com (we'll come back to this, but you need a Pocket account setup before the next step) Login or create account at IFTTT.com Create new recipe: IF...Pocket...Any New Item... THEN...Evernote...Create New Link Note... (Fill in settings as you want. I add the tag ".Bookmark" for easy sorting later) Go to: http://getpocket.com/import/delicious Under "2. Import your bookmarks", Upload your HTML file from Step 1 Click "Import" Wait for the magical elves in the cloud to do their work. It will take longer for the more bookmarks you have, but is still way less than doing this all manually. Now all your old bookmarks are in the same place as your new ones, as you add with Clipper. You can choose to go back through and organize with notebooks and tags as you like. If you're not familiar with IFTTT, I recommend it for other actions, like adding Facebook posts and photos to your Evernote.
  22. Can Evernote please fix the long term problem whereby a problem occurs after annotating an image? The problem is that, after the annotation is finished and the editing window is closed, the user is taken to the very beginning of the note INSTEAD of returning to the point where the user was actively working on the document, i.e., the point in the note where the annotated image is located. The ongoing bug is a serious impediment to the workflow of an individual. Imaging working on an image that is several pages long and being taken back to the top of a note every single time you annotate an image.
  23. Recently did some software updates on my Mac, and Evernote no longer opens up. I have the latest versions of everything. I uninstalled and reinstalled Evernote. Any ideas how to fix this? The few forum topics I saw the problems just resolved itself.
  24. Hi, please consider renaming a notebook by right clicking in the sidebar.
  25. There was a golden era for a few months, maybe even a year, when Evernote's text formatting was pretty solid, but now the extraneous line breaks have returned. It makes using Evernote with any other text-accepting program incredibly frustrating. I haven't been able to find a solid repro path, but I have found that in notes that have nothing but text, and which have no formatting of any kind, sometimes when I copy/paste the text from Evernote into other apps there will be extraneous line breaks. There will frequently be an extra line break above the first line of the note, and sometimes extra line breaks are inserted randomly in between lines of text. They aren't inserted mid-sentence, they are always inserted where there is a line break. It's as if you hit Enter twice when starting a new line, not just once. In my experience, this is 100% caused by Evernote. I have tested it with numerous other text-handling apps, and Evernote is always the culprit. Here's a probably-not-comprehensive list of other apps that interoperate perfectly with each other, but not with simple text from Evernote: FirefoxNotesTabPagesScrivenerSparrowTextEditUnity3D EditorI have notes that look correct in Evernote (i.e. no extraneous line breaks) that will have line breaks if I copy them into any of the above programs. The text always looks right in Evernote and is always busted in the same way in any other app I paste it into. If I recreate the exact same text in any of the programs above and paste them into any of the other programs above, the integrity of the text is preserved perfectly. It seems that Evernote still doesn't have a clean text formatting engine, and that there are some non-standard ways it handles text for itself that are incompatible with the rest of the text formatting world. It's super frustrating not to be able to rely on WYSIWYG formatting. Despite all of the features that have been piled into Evernote over the years, it is a text-based program. The first thing you see when you create a note is a blank text note with a blinking cursor. It's disappointing that after years of struggles, Evernote still doesn't have acceptable text handling for basic, raw, formatting-free text. I'm using Evernote 5.2.1 on Mac and Evernote 5.4.3 on an iPad 2 and iPhone 5. I wouldn't be surprised if these extra line breaks were introduced in notes that have been edited by multiple Evernote clients.
