  1. Hi Folks Evernote for Mac 7.12 is now available. You can download it here. New: Security update Fixed a crash that occurred when importing a previously exported web clip note Other Changes Version 7.12 and updates going forward will only support macOS 10.13 or higher. Enjoy!
  2. Hi Folks, Evernote for Mac 7.11 is now available to download. You can get it here. Fixes and Improvements: Fixed a data migration error that some users encountered after upgrading to 7.10 Fixed an issue where Evernote helper displayed null as keyboard shortcut. 3. BUG Report: EN Mac 7.10 -- Excessive CPU% & Slowdown After Moving Notes to Another Notebook After I moved ~4,500 notes to a different Notebook (NB #2), Evernote 7.10 usability went to about ZERO! CPU usage went to 100%+ for > 1 hour It was syncing continuously, but ONLY uploading -- It did NOT download any of the new Notes I had created via Chrome Web Clipper AFTER the move notes When I would change the selected NB to the NB #2 (or any other NB), after 30 sec the note list still had not updated so show the notes in it. All I did is to change the NB -- this should be a very fast and simple database update! I am running a brand new 2019 iMac with 512 SSD, 40GB RAM, 3.6GHz i9 (8 cores) processor!!! I will submit a formal bug report shortly via the Evernote Support web site. Screenshot:
  4. Whenever I use the desktop client (since upgrading to Evernote Business) I get this screen (see attached) when returning to the app from a different space. This happens on full screen mode as well. You can only view your notes by clicking in the toolbar at the top. I use Evernote quite a lot (enough to pay for the Business version) and typically have it open and running my entire day. Restarting the app does nothing and I am running the latest version. This is very irritating, am I the only one seeing this?
  5. Are You Having AppleScript Issues with Recent Versions of Evernote Mac? If you are having any issues with AppleScripts that used to work, but have stopped working as of Ver 7+, please post your script and a detailed description of the issue(s) here. It is best to post scripts using either the code block tool, or in an attached zip file. Please make sure you do not have any personal or sensitive information in your script before posting. Background As some of you know, I am an avid user and avid fan of AppleScript. I have many AppleScripts that use Evernote that are essential to my daily workflows. As a result I am still holding on Evernote 6.11.1 (455059) on macOS 10.12.6. I can't upgrade to any later version until I know that my essential AppleScripts will work. So I propose that we all work together to provide the Evernote Dev team a single thread to identify, and hopefully, fix AppleScript issues. I hope Evernote will put some resources on this as part of their rework of the Evernote foundation, because AppleScript is a very powerful tool to extend and customize Evernote (and all apps) by each user. Evernote Mac already has a good foundation, it is just fallen in disrepair in recent years as Evernote made changes to the app, but failed to make the corresponding changes to the scripting model. IAC, I am glad to work with the Evernote community to share and develop workarounds to any AppleScript issues we identify until Evernote has a chance to publish the fix. I have a backup/test Mac that I am going to upgrade to Ver 7.10+ to test my existing AppleScripts, as well as test scripts posted by others. Although I have not published any AppleScripts recently, I do have a number of scripts posted in GitHub Gists: • AppleScripts Published by JMichaelTX (GitHubGists) Thanks for your support to get AppleScript issues resolved.
  6. Hi there, Evernote for Mac 7.10 is now available to our users on direct download. Mac App Store's release is on its way! You can download 7.10 here. Your notes will now load even faster. Like, “Wow, that’s fast” fast. If you’d had the nagging feeling that something was missing, you were right: Your notes had stopped appearing in Spotlight Search. But we fixed it, so any existential angst should be easing soon.
  7. Evernote Mac on Mojave -- Anyone have any version running well? I'm getting closer to being ready to upgrade from macOS Sierra to Mojave. Currently I'm running Evernote 6.11.1 (455059) on macOS 10.12.6. Does anyone have any version of Evernote Mac that runs well on Mojave? If you do, but still have some issues, please list the issues. Thanks.
  8. Hello folks, Evernote for Mac 7.9 is now available for download. You can get it by updating your app or click here. Fixes and Improvements: If you copied something from Evernote to another editor, all the line and paragraph breaks you placed so lovingly would just disappear. Since our parents taught us to play well with others, we fixed that. Printing a note with tables is fun, right? (OK, maybe that’s just us—we’re kind of geeky). It’s not fun when the table borders don’t print. We thought so too, so we fixed it.
  9. Hello Beta testers, Evernote for Mac 7.9 Beta 2 is now available for download. You can get it here. Fixes and Improvements: Fixed an issue where notes with tables would print without table borders. Fixed an issue where copying text from Evernote and pasting it in a third party app or website would remove blank lines. Known issues: Spotlight search in macOS Mojave doesn't work. Text appears fuzzy on non retina displays. Please continue sending us your feedback. Enjoy!
  10. Hi Folks, Evernote for Mac 7.9 Beta 1 is now available for download. You can get it here. Fixes and Improvement: Small improvements to the client. Known issues: Empty lines are eliminated when copying and pasting. Spotlight search in macOS Mojave doesn't work. Text appears fuzzy on non retina displays. Please continue sending us your feedback. Enjoy!
  11. Evernote for Mac 7.8 is now available and you can download it here. New: You told us you love Templates, so we’ve made it even easier for you to use them. Now you can view our gallery of templates—plus any you’ve saved—right inside the app. Just click on the “Template” button when you create a new note to see them all. Oh yeah, you know we’re doin’ our happy dance. FYI, they look great with Dark Mode too.
  12. Many times per day, the "Create a Space" window appears when I Command-Tab to switch back to Evernote. It's crazy-making. I click the back button, but it doesn't go away. The only way to get rid of it is to close the entire window and then do "New Window" from the File menu to start over with my normal Evernote window. I wish I could attach the screen shot, but basically it's the entire Evernote screen. Anyone else seeing this? Is it on a bug list? I'd email Evernote support, but for some reason I can't log in on the site to do so due to our Evernote business account using the Okta verification.
  13. Hey beta testers, Evernote for Mac 7.8 Beta 1 is now available and you can download it here. This update doesn't contain any fixes. We're working on those. This update is focused on the template gallery and dark mode refinements. Improved: Using pre-made templates is now even easier with access to the templates gallery in-app and access to your saved templates Dark mode is now available in the template gallery Try it out and please send us your feedback.
  14. Hey folks, Evernote 7.7 is now available to download. You can get it here. Please continue to share your experience and feedback. Improved: You said you love Dark Mode, so we're polishing it up to make it even better. We made a few tweaks under the hood so you can now type faster than ever. We've made it easier to see if something isn't right when creating notebooks. We don't like error messages any more than you, but wouldn't you rather know? So, you like centering text? We brought back the keyboard shortcut to make it easier for you. Now when you export notes as a backup, it won't include the ones in the trash. Because you probably trashed them for a reason, right? Fixed: We took care of a few annoying issues with Dark Mode. Known issues: Spotlight search not working for Mojave users Text appears fuzzy on non retina displays.
  15. Hey Folks, Evernote 7.7 Beta 1 is now available for download. Get it here! Fixed and Improved: Fixed an issue where notes and resources with long titles would fail HTML export Fixed an issue where using macOS's share extension to create a note would create a duplicate note Fixed an issue where business notebooks would remain in the Evernote account after leaving a business Improved performance for larger accounts Fixed an issue exporting local notes Miscellaneous crash fixes including crashes during annotation Miscellaneous UI fixes and improvements. Known issues: Spotlight search is not working for Mojave users. Search highlight doesn't scroll with the note. Text appears fuzzy for non retina displays. Please know we're working on fixing these issues above. Thanks again for your help reporting bugs.
  16. Hey Folks, Evernote for Mac 7.6 is here, and we're happy to announce Dark Mode moving forward. More information can be read here. Improvements and fixes: Dark Mode Accessibility fixes Many crash fixes Known issues: Spotlight search results are not populating for Mojave users Special thanks to all our Beta testers for helping us catch and squash bugs. Enjoy!
  17. The Notes/Reminder toolbar takes up space. I'd like the option to turn it off.

Now you can export notes again by dragging them out of the note list. Known issues: Spotlight search results are not populating for Mojave users Context hasn't had dark mode applied yet.

    Mac 7.6 Beta 2

Hello Beta testers, Evernote for Mac 7.6 Beta 2 is now available. You can download it here. This release is mainly focused on crashes and dark mode refinements. Please keep the feedback coming our way. Enjoy! 7.6 Beta 2 Improvements: Dark Mode refinement in many areas of the application Note canvas enables dark mode automatically based on System Preferences settings, but you still have the option to overwrite it in Evernote's preferences. Now you can export notes again by dragging them out of the note list. Known issues: Title field is showing a darker shade background color for Mojave users in light mode. Contextual menu shows "EnApplicationServiceMenuItemTitle" instead of "Add to Evernote" Quick switcher still needs some dark mode tweaks

DARK MODE is here If you are on macOS Mojave, you will be able to enable Dark Mode. There is a known issue with Drag and Drop, but it will be fixed in the next Beta build. To download the beta, go HERE
  21. We need support for links like "things:///show?id=" to improve integration with other productivity applications. As it stands, Evernote Mac can't link those even using CMD-K.
  22. A recent update moved icons from the header bar. Users want the choice of which icons appear. This is currently a feature on the Windows platform
  23. v7.5 introduced a clean header bar with action items moved to the ... more menu Icons only appear if they're active for the note The Share button was left in the header bar. Please move it to the ... more menu We should only see share icons if the note is shared The Note Details button was moved to the ... more menu. Please move it back to the header bar since it's active for all notes.
  24. Improvements:* We’ve cleaned up the More Options menu (“…”) so it’s easier to find the actions you use most.* To make upgrading effortless, we added a button to the toolbar. We promise it won’t bite, but don’t worry, you can always remove it if you’d prefer.* Since we recently changed our appearance (does this color make our sidebar look big?), we tweaked our background colors to match. Fixes: * We fixed a problem where you wouldn’t see a note snippet if the note hadn’t synced properly. * If you had more than one line of text highlighted when you tried to remove a link, all the links in the note would disappear. We’ll admit, that was taking things too far. * Now and then, loading web views would cause a crash, but we fixed that. * Sometimes, annotating a PDF would cause a crash, which was a big fail. * The app would sometimes crash when checking for updates. Since updates are healthy, we put a stop to that. * Pasting into a numbered or bulleted list would remove the list text between any images. This was less than ideal, but on the bright side, we fixed it. * The app was forgetting your Shared with Me column widths after you closed it, which is probably not what you expected. * Shared notebooks weren’t showing up in your Shared with Me list. And notebooks deserve love too. * Triple-clicking one line of copy pasted in front of text on another line would break the list. But that’s a thing of the past. * If you added Japanese characters to a bulleted list, the formatting would look weird, which was unfortunate. * If you had 2-byte characters in a table (for example, Chinese or Japanese characters), adding a bullet point would break the table. And only WWE wrestlers should be allowed to break tables. * Underlining couldn’t be removed from text in a table, which wasn’t helpful. * Turning bold text off then pasting something into a list would turn bold back on. We really like bold, but that’s taking things too far. * If you pasted bulleted lists separated by paragraphs from Word into Evernote, the gaps would disappear. You could say it was a big mess. * Pasting data from Excel into Evernote needed a table upgrade, but there was no way for you to do it. That was an embarrassing oversight on our part. * Pasting text into Evernote from a coding text editor messed up the formatting, but it should be smooth sailing now. * Occasionally, changes you made to a note, including moving it to a different notebook, wouldn’t sync. Things should be back to normal now though. * Occasionally, dragging a note from a space to the trash folder would cause the app to crash, but that’s no more.
