Hello Two bugs with file:// URLs. First, backslashes make them completely break. Second, even without backslashes, they don't work. I get "does not have permission." I want to include a link to a file on my hard drive in one of my notes. The path to the file is the following: /Volumes/2\ TB\ SSD\ external/current_projects_SSD/Performing\ Arts/comedy/breaking-comedys-dna_\(v.1.4.4\).pdf When I copy this path into Evernote I see that the '\' characters get turned into HTML "%5C" codes. So I right click on some tex and select "Link-->Add..." and add this: file -
If I copy text from an app on my iPhone running iOS 11.3 and try to paste it into Evernote for Mac 7 (Mac OS 10.13.4), nothing is pasted. However, if I try to paste into another app, such as MS Word, the paste works just fine. Hi, First time poster to this forum, hopefully, someone will read this and help. My versions of the evernote app for the mac continually and irritatingly sync when I try to write up a new note. I moved everything to the background in preferences. Problem still exists. While sync-ing as I'm trying to paste data or switch notebooks, I get a spinning ball (as it syncs). Bugs / Suggestions (1) Drag and drop When I select several files to drag and drop into the icon, some go, and some don't. For example, I just selected seven PDFs, dragged, dropped, and it said 4 notes were created. Now I have to go back and figure out what did and didn't make it. If there is a problem, please let us know with a dialogue, and have us try again. (2) Flashing It seems that when I select a note in the center column and edit it, the selection highlight flashes on occasion, perhaps when the app is syncing. Please stop it -
For some strange reason, you cannot use Tab/Shift-Tab as shortkeys to increase/decrease indent for checkbox lists - it only works for bulleted lists. Why? Instead, you have to use the mouse/pad to go to the Format menu, choose Lists and there click Increase/Decrease indent - very time consuming. More generally speaking, the checkbox list feature is presently not very well made: the actual checkboxes act more like merely inserted symbols rather than a "real" list - making editing an existing checkbox list quite a hazzle on both Mac and iPhone: you often end up with double checkboxes on one -
Hello, I recently updated my evernote on mac and I have this big New Note button, which is very distracting, and redundant. I like and use this button to create new notes. It is simpler, I can toggle notebook and fits in nicer with the rest of the palette. Is there any way to get rid of the button at the side bar? Thanks! -
Hey, where are the options "create new notebook", "refresh list" and also the "Find a notebook" searching bar on the Chrome Web Clipper for Mac? I just installed it and it is not within the drop-down button under Organize.

Crash reproduction: Login to an Evernote International account. Add another business account with Spacy supported. after around 5 seconds --> Crashed! Whenever I reboot mac os (10.3.3) I have to go into scansnap manager and change the default "None (scan to file)"back to "scan to evernote (Document) " Not a big deal but irritating. Thanks. -
I am often working with multiple notes at the same time. I am often working with a particular note and want to open a different note in a new window. Of course, I double-click on the note in the list and it opens in a new window... HOWEVER, my main EN window switches to that note, as well (on the first click). Granted, it only takes hitting the "back" button, but still, my UX gut tells me that a single-click should open the note in the main EN window and a double-click should open it in a new window - leaving my main window "as is". -
Is there a way to have notebook specific sort orders in the view pane? If not, does anyone else think this would be a useful feature? -
I'm running 7.0.3 on a recent MacBook Pro with 16Gb. Latest MacOS, etc. Adding a bullet after a bullet list highlights the list above and removes color formatting. This behavior happens regardless of whether the bullet is added via the Format menu, toolbar, or keystroke short cut. Anyone else seeing this behavior or have a workaround?

EN Mac AppleScript to Create Internet Location File (inetloc) for EN Note I have just uploaded my AppleScript to: Create Internet Location File from EN Note -- GitHub Gist An Internet Location File is the type of file you get when you drag/drop the URL from your Browser's Address bar onto a Mac Finder folder. A simple double-click on that file opens the web page in your Browser. In this case, a simple double-click opens your EN Note in an Evernote Mac Note window. I don't use it a lot, but it has always worked in the past. When I click the web clipper symbol, nothing at all happens. I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail. I have the latest updates of all software including MacOS 10.13.3. I see there are other similar posts, but no one has posted a solution that I see. Any help would be appreciated. The ability to clip and save webpages to my notebooks is the primary reason I have a paid Evernote account. Without that ability, I will probably drop it. -
If formatted text is pasted into a code block, then leading spaces are sometimes deleted, leading to offsetting of lines of fixed format material. It seems that if there is exactly one leading space, it is removed, but multiple leading spaces are left intact. -
When opened the evernote app today, a note I have been working on for a week or so had disappeared. Checked the trash not there. Checked the web app not there, phone, mac - checked everywhere. Then I look at my activity log and see the below activity. [ENCoreDataLocalStore expunge Objects:] | Deleting local object (followed by a bunch of random identifiers including the note name) I did not delete the note, but per the above it seems that it was deleted somehow. Is there a way to recover this note? If don't think upgrading to premium will do me any good since there is no note to clic

Just switched over from an old 2012 MacBook Pro to a 2017 MacBook Pro. When I downloaded Evernote, it came up with only a third of my notes and had deleted whole folders. I tried to troubleshoot though this site, and dug through the Trash folder, but none of my lost notes were there. It's like the backup was from a year ago and it just didn't save anything I've done recently. Does anyone have any advice on how I can get my stuff back? -
When I paste a link to a group in DEVONthink into Evernote on Mac, it pastes the complete link and that link will in return open the group (folder) in DEVONthink. Such link looks somewhat like this: x-devonthink-item://F6EC8B22-73B8-47F1-B812-7BF20F0D1B8A However, when I have a word in Evernote or a little sentence, like Click here to open in DEVONthink, and I select that word or sentence and then open the Add Link window by pressing Command-K, and if I then paste the link into the field, well, then the OK button remains grayed out! This is clearly a bug. -
I'm using the direct version. My external-edits folder used to be here (last modification in that folder was in Sept 2017): /Users/myusername/Library/Application Support/com.evernote.Evernote/accounts/www.evernote.com/13570/external-edits ...but there's a new one here (files no older than Jan 2018): /Users/myusername/Documents/.evernote/13570-personal-www.evernote.com/external-edits Anyone know what's going on here? It would be really useful to be able to lay out multiple cursors so you can edit many lines at once, similar to what you can do in Atom or in other dedicated text editors. I've traditionally seen this as holding command and clicking to place the cursor in multiple locations.
