  1. I have searched for days now and failed to find anything that tells me how to limit a search to the notebooks in one stack. When I use the Search box, it does not give 'Stack' as an option. Is there a Search syntax that allows me to restrict the search? I have not found it if it is there. Please help!!
  2. If I share a document with someone, I know that when we are both working on it at the same time, one person will not be able to edit while the other is editing. That's not the issue. When I am finished with editing a note that maybe the other person isn't even working on, I would like the ability to be able to notify them that the note was updated. This could be a popup window that is displayed when the note is closed (if it was open in it's own window). Whatever the trigger, it would give me the following options: Notify the other users by email Notify by Evernote Chat message Notify by text message Do not notify, only show file update The #4 option is included regardless of what the user does. It would be an update time stamp that appears in the UI some where. Further, currently, if a document is being shared, there is text below the title that states so. What if we put the time stamp there and move the sharing info to an icon. See illustration below.
  3. The current version of Evernote for Mac has ceased to search and display notes in local notebooks. It 'knows' they are there (cites the text string in the shortlist of 'found' search keys) but does not display them. The only notes displayed after a search are ones held centrally on the Evernote server. This absolutely won't do. Some of my most important material is held locally and always will be. Please restore this functionality ASAP, or sooner. Version 7.2.1 (456793 App Store) MacOS 10.13.5
  4. I was using Evernot a lot on several difference devices until I noticed some inconsistancies between devices. Mainly the lack of font control on the IOS devices, specifically IPad and IPhone ( I don't have an android device so I don't know if this applies there as well). I'm not asking for a lot of font/paragragh control. I'd settle for being able to change the font, font size and font color, although actual paragraph control would be a nice to have. This functionality is especially necessary when copying and pasting text from web pages into Evernote, or formated text from other programs. I would like to be able to select all the copied text and convert it to all the same font and color or size of my choosing. This makes reading my notes much easier. Also there are times when the default text is too small to read on IOS devises and I would like to make it bigger. I can't do this with the IPad or IPhone version only the desktop. As a user I don't understand why this functionalty isn't already in the app, it exists on the destop, it exists in other IOS applications so I have to believe it is possible. Other posts regarding this issue suggest first copying and pasting text into a text only application, which defeats the entire point of Evernote if I have to use multiple programs to make a simple text change. Other posts have also noted that this comment box contains more text functionaly than exsists in the IOS applications, which to a user seems really really odd. If you have no plans to add this functionality to the application could you supply the reasoning why something so common can not be implemented in Evernote. If we can't have a feature it might help the annoyance factor to understand why. Evernote has stopped being my go to resourse on IOS devices for this reason, and thats a shame as its a good program.
  5. I would like to have my notes color-coded the way Mac folders were (although this feature has been removed in Mac OS), so that I can find specific notes more quickly.
  6. Hello - (this now happens on both Mac and Windows client versions) - somewhere along the way, Evernote started bleeding embedded images (JPG's etc) across multiple pages. So you get, for instance, 80% of the whiteboard picture on one physical printed sheet and 20% at the top of the next sheet. At one point in time, Evernote did not let images span pages, but rather sized the image to fit on a single page or page-broke and put the whole image on the next physical printed page. This is causing problems since I have used Evernote to capture meeting notes, including captured images, and when printing them to hang up and comment on or cut apart (etc etc) I can't get one whole image on one individual page. I've seen other threads saying Evernote is about using less paper (weak) and that Evernote doesn't have formatting tools (OK), but the point is it DID work at one point (many releases ago) and it hasn't for quite a while. I left one of my machines with an old version but mistakenly upgraded it recently. Someone dropped a feature in an upgrade branch. I can't find a setting for "keep images intact on page". Can you address please or point me to the settings to address this?
  7. Been having an issue on both of my Macs since upgrading to High Sierra 10.13. It was happening on EN 6.11.1 so I thought updating to 6.12.3 might help (it did not). Neither did updating to 6.13, 6.14 beta or 7.0 or 7.0.1. Here's a screenshot of what happens: The note list middle section just goes blank / disappears. The content is still "there" -- you can click around in the empty space and the preview area on the right will change accordingly to whatever note you clicked. Fumbling around with resizing columns or closing & reopening the main EN window will get the list to redraw but it's annoying. Can this be fixed?
  8. I've recently switched to Mac. I notice that there are a few differences in the desktop client between the platforms. On windows, I wish to hide the note-panel view. I prefer having a list of notes which I open in a separate window and not clutter up my work space with the note-panel. In windows, it's easy to hide it. However, on Mac, I can't find an option for this. Is it possible? Sincerely C
  9. I recently changed jobs, and had several shared Evernote databases in my old job that I've exported and removed from my workspace. However, tags from these old shared notebooks remain in my Evernote on the Mac (not on the web) and cannot be removed. When attempting to remove an old shared tag, I get a dialog saying "Can't delete 'tag'. This tag is in a shared notebook". An option to remove the tag from all notes exists, but it still doesn't delete the tag. There are solutions to this in the Windows forum that involve the use of a debug option to optimize the Evernote database, but I've never seen anything similar here. Anyone have any ideas? I've got a ton of these old dead tags and I want them outta here! - Barry
  10. I can no longer highlight text. There is no highlighter icon. I could have sworn the capability was there before, now I'm not so sure. I'm using a Mac Workbook Pro, OS High Sierra, 10.13.4 . with Chrome browser (latest update). Free version of Evernote.
  11. PLEASE implement "convert to PDF" including date and time stamp from the header !!! as if you were printing a PDF. Well, the best method and the highest comfort would be a new feature "export to PDF". You only allow export to the evernote-format or html. My dream would be to select 365 entries (one year) and then click "print to pdf" (365 files including headers). No way to implement this? Any other idea to make my life a little bit less stressful? What I am doing now is to stamp a date into the headline of a note. At least, Evernote exports the headline to a filename (html-Export or individual PDF conversion from the context menu).
  12. Was using EN and it closed unexpectedly. Lost all text in notes on a particular PDF. Can’t restore. I wasn’t connected to internet so it didn’t sync
  13. Hi, guys! I have following issue with Code Blocks feature STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open note https://www.evernote.com/shard/s7/sh/858b25b5-6812-4156-bfb9-9877f092909b/b8cb742f1181d59cc0b934fc04b35ead 2. Copy whole content of the note into the new note EXPECTED RESULTS Note content should be copied, and there should be 3 code blocks. ACTUAL RESULTS Nothing happens when I do Cmd+V or Edit > Paste. Edit > Paste and Match Style is not working too. SOFTWARE Evernote App Store version that I had previously and that is currently installed (see more details below): Version 7.0.2 (456267 App Store) Editor: 1.38.3824 (68bd1c0) Mac OS High Sierra 10.13.3 (17D102) MacBook Pro Early 2011 TL;DR Yesterday I decided to give a try to Code Block feature, so I installed latest Evernote for Mac from evernote.com, because only it this version you could enable Code Block feature. Previously I used latest version from the AppStore. I created a note with several code blocks, and everything were fine until I switched to another note, upon returning to the original note I saw an empty editor screen, but in the snippet panel I could see the text from the note (see _Inbox.png). I decided to figure out an issue, I opened this note on Evernote for iOS and everything was fine. In the Web version everything was fine too. So I decided to just copy a note content from web to the new note. But it didn't work! I could paste note content anywhere except Evernote. I thought that maybe it's an issue with this beta version I downloaded from evernote.com. So I installed version from the Appstore again, but it has the same issue. So I come to the conclusion, that issue is with the note itself. I tried to copy texts from different sources and it worked fine. Then I tried to copy part of my troublesome note and it worked too! Long story short, using dichotomy method I figured out a problematic part of the note — it's an empty code block. Content of the notes with such block is not displayed in the Evertnote for Mac, and I can't copy&paste it's content into the new blocks too. I prepared a note for you, you could test this issue, see Steps above. Tell me if you need any additional details.
  14. I'm running Evernote 7.2 on an iMac (OS 10.13.5). I can select and search all 6 of my notebooks individually but I can no longer select or search 'all notes'. This is a new issue that only affects my Mac app. No problem on my iPhone app or web browser (Chrome). Re-installing the Mac app did not help. Oddly enough, my associate is running an identical setup and she has no such issues.
  15. With notebooks with several hundred notes, it would be really nice to have an alpha index along the side instead of having to scroll endlessly up and down to go from a to z.
  16. It would be great if there was a way to seperate for example the tags or folders in the left side menu from the amount of notes in this tag/folder. For example: "Website Texting 1.2 1" I always have to look twice to see the number of notes in the folder/tag, if there was more distance or a green bubble or something else with the number of notes, it would make navigating and findig the right notes easier.
  17. Not sure if I've missed something in the Preferences, but most of my notes are not available on the desktop Mac app. The desktop app is basically useless, because I need to fish all my old notes through the browser version. Is this a bug or a feature?
  18. To have the ability to freeze the table headers - rows (along top) and column (along left margin) like you can in Excel. This would allow to scroll up/down or left or right while still having visibility of the table headers.
  19. I never used the thumbnail view before when browsing my notes but with the latest updates for Mac, I figured I would try out the new card view. I'm curious to know what logic EN uses to display the image in the card? For instance, if a note has multiple images in it, which one does EN select to display? I use EN for business use and could find this new feature useful for browsing notes but need to know how I can control the image that is displayed.
  20. A while ago, the Evernote for Mac annotation tool switched from the normal sans-serif font (Helvetica, maybe?) to a fixed-width font that is not as readable. This is a guess, and I'm not sure it was the cause--but I think the font changed a few weeks ago when I inserted an emoji into a text annotation on my mac. Is there a way to revert the font back to the default font? I am guessing that my only recourse is to fully uninstall and reinstall due to corruption in an underlying set of configurations that have no user interface.
  21. I have a two part problem. 1. How can I select ALL notes in a notebook in order to create a Table of Contents? Right now it seems I must command click each note (and I have over 200 so that is annoying - I'd like to drag/select or select all). 2. When I do select some notes, the Create a Table of Contents option isn't showing up. It only gives me the option to "Copy Note Links to Clipboard". See screenshot. I am using the evernote app, have a basic account (free) , on a Mac, Safari 11.1 I've also tried on Chrome. I've made a TOC before so I know it's possible. Or at least it used to be. Thanks, Barb
  22. It would be fantastic to have an Undo option available alongside the Clear Annotations button while in annotating mode. Do we still call them buttons? I don't know. Option works too, right? ? * An Undo button would allow us to undo the last action(s) instead of clearing them all. I am using Evernote PLUS on PC, Mac, iPhone, and iPad & just signed up for the free trial period of PREMIUM I believe. Exciting! Thanks.
  23. Please can someone help me, I am in the middle of downloading my Evernote to my MacBook Air, and in order for me to do so, I need to drag the evernote icon to my applications file?
  24. I was running an old version of Evernote, 5 point something, that I downloaded several years ago. I got several messages that I ought to update it, but when I tried the automated update process it could not complete the process. So I read how to delete Evernote by dragging to the trash, emptying the trash, then downloading the current version. That worked fine, but when I tried to install it I got an error message that my OS, version 10.9.5, isn't compatible with the current version of Evernote. Having followed instructions, the version that had been working was already gone, emptied from the trash. Is there a way to download an older version, and which version do I need to work with Mac OS 10.9.5? Thanks for any help, I'm dead in the water here. Although I guess I can continue to use the web based version.
