  1. Evernote Mac on Mojave -- Anyone have any version running well? I'm getting closer to being ready to upgrade from macOS Sierra to Mojave. Currently I'm running Evernote 6.11.1 (455059) on macOS 10.12.6. Does anyone have any version of Evernote Mac that runs well on Mojave? If you do, but still have some issues, please list the issues. Thanks.
  2. In Preferences allow users to define their own date formats, or include every imaginable format. I use yyyy-mm-dd extensively and would love to make it my default date format.
  3. The underline function for Mac is buggy. I've been using Evernote for years now, but I'm getting a bit annoyed with the underline function. Using the keyboard shortcut for underline (ctrl+u), it works when turning it on, but turning underline off doesn't work. When you start a go to the next line (press enter/return) and turn off underline function doesn't work. And even after turning it off on the bar, when you press tab, it turns on again it leaves an underlined area where you tab... It's starting to becoming annoying especially if you're at a university, trying to keep note organized while trying to type fast to keep up with the professor... Somebody, Please Fix It!!! Mac Details: MacOS High Sierra (10.13.3) MacBook Air (13-inch, Mid 2012) Evernote Version 7.1 + Clipper.
  4. This seems really basic, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to change the text's font in Skitch. What am I missing?
  5. Hello folks, Evernote for Mac 7.9 is now available for download. You can get it by updating your app or click here. Fixes and Improvements: If you copied something from Evernote to another editor, all the line and paragraph breaks you placed so lovingly would just disappear. Since our parents taught us to play well with others, we fixed that. Printing a note with tables is fun, right? (OK, maybe that’s just us—we’re kind of geeky). It’s not fun when the table borders don’t print. We thought so too, so we fixed it.
  6. Since the last two weeks aprox the Outlook addin for Mac (Office365) dosn´t work as before. It creates notes in the correct folder but do not assign the tags as it should be. No tags are transferred to the evernote note from Outlook.I tried using existing tags but the note is created in evernote without any tag. The note is created with the attachments and everything but not tags at all.anyone having the same issues? any idea? thanks
  7. I'm aware of the availability of text statistics for an entire note. However, working on CFPs and other types of documents, I want to check the number of characters or words for a specific paragraph or title section for example, not the entire note which may have revisions and buffer text. Currently I open Word, copy and paste, then get the statistics there, which is daft.
  8. I searched online extensively before posting (including posts in this forum). I can't seem to figure out how to hide the notes list that appears in between the shortcut/sidebar and the actual note body -- I can change the location or style of the list using the icon on the top right / immediately left of the actual note input body -- card view, expanded card view, snippet view, etc. but I can't actually find out how to hide this panel! I am using Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) and Evernote 5.5.1. A previous forum post here said OSX Lion had a 'hide favorites' option which hid this panel but I do not see this option on any menu items. It is very hard to use the software with the side panel always present because (a) it takes up 1/3rd of the window, ( I can't pull up notes with a work colleague sitting next to me because some private notes are displayed in the side panel (obviously, I could show a different folder of notes in the panel but it is too annoying to have to think about this every time), and © it is very distracting and actually hard to work when you see a huge list of notes in your peripheral vision that you can't get rid of unless you move the note you are working on into a separate window. Why is there not a simple show/hide panel widget icon? If there is, am I missing it? Please help.. great software but I can't use it like this!
  9. Are there any plans to add inline code block (like Markdown's `inline code block`)?
  10. Is there a configuration option that I'm missing (either via the user interface or via a Terminal level setting) that would allow me to disable the Evernote editor's desire to format all my website addresses and email addresses as hyperlinks? I understand that this is a common behavior in other applications - but in other applications one can disable this behavior.
  11. I would like to request a feature that would allow me to move items in a list up or down and the numbers adjust accordingly. Basically, it would help in prioritizing list items. In a Word outline you can use Shift-Control Up/Down arrow to move items around. It is very handy and would take EN lists up a notch. Thanks for considering it! Wayne
  12. I've been waiting for Evernote to add this feature for years. This is what I would love: 1. A button within the note that enables full-screen mode. This mode removes EVERYTHING except the words. Moving your mouse will make editing tools visible. 2. Full-Screen Mode also has margin and line-height functionality. That's it! Please Evernote! Please make this change to our desktop app!
  13. OK, I've skimmed through a bunch of posts in this forum but am still confused and may have missed something: Is it possible to create a link from an EN note to an email in Mac Mail? I know there are applescripts and other solutions for importing entire emails but I want to create a single note that has links to multiple different emails. Snow Leopard already has support for the "message://" URL format. Just can't figure out how to use it in EN. The ideas is that I can create a ToDo item that says something like "Respond to Ryan's email about the website" where clicking on the text brings up that email so that I can respond! Relatively new to EN, so apologies if I missed something obvious.
  14. How can I disable this systematic warning ? "Change access. You are moving a note into "[NotebookName]". People this notebook is shared with will gain access to the note." Since the last version, every time I move a note to a shared notebook, I get this message. Only way to dismiss it is to click on "Move". Since I clip my notes first in my inbox, and then move them to whichever notebook is relevant - and all of my notebooks are shared, I get this warning literally all the time. This is both useless and annoying. It should have been pretty simple and pretty obvious to add a checkbox "don't warn again for this notebook". I'm a plus member with OSX + evernote 7.0.3.
  15. Hi, I dropped a shared notebook that I was following, and have noticed that I still have a couple of tags from it remaining in my Tag View. This is the only place they exist. They are not in The Tag List in the sidebar My Evernote web account Either of my iOS device clients Things I have tried: Right-click and select Delete Tag (I get a dialog saying that I can't because it's in a Shared notebook) Drag the tag to the Trash (Adds the tag to my Shortcuts) Select the tag and press Backspace (No effect) Select the tag and press Delete (No effect) Create a temporary tag, drag the unwanted tags to it so that they're nested and then delete the parent tag (Deletes the parent and puts the unwanted tags back where they were) Close and restart Evernote and repeat all of the above (Same results) Close all instances of Evernote (Desktop, web, and iOS), restart Desktop and repeat all of the above (Same results) Sign out of Evernote, sign in again and repeat all of the above (Same results) Search the forums and web for suggestions (Found all of the above, but nothing useful unless I was using a Windows client. And a statement that this would be fixed in "an upcoming update" which was a year old.) The only thing I haven't done (which I know would fix it) is to rename my database and download it from the server again. (I have no Local notebooks) I'm reluctant to do this due to the sheer size of the database and the time and bandwidth it would take. Plus this seems a rather nuclear option for an issue that, frankly, shouldn't have occurred in the first place if Evernote removed shared notebooks correctly. Have I missed anything that might work? Or is this yet another known bug that is being ignored while they mess around with the interface repeatedly? Thanks, Stephen
  16. I'd like to see a much easier method for cleaning up my old / neglected reminders at once. Perhaps a 'Select All' and 'Remove Reminders' option would do. My reminders function is virtually useless due to the thousands of un-cleared reminders that are clogging it up.
  17. Hi Community / Dev's Having the following issue with my build; Evernote for Mac; OS Ver: 10.13.3; Evernote Build: 6.13.1 When I start my computer I have the Evernote helper load automatically - so the elephant icon is at the top right after the computer starts, the issue is as follows: If I type anything into the helper and hit 'save to Evernote' - then go to my Evernote and look for it - it's not there... BUT If I create a note from within Evernote - all of the notes that were supposed to be saved from the helper suddenly appear. Bug? Settings Problem? Fix? Thanks in advance!
  18. I reported this bug to tech support a couple of weeks ago and so far no resolution. When I try to drag an unannotated screenshot from Skitch to another application, or just to a finder window, one of two things happens: Skitch crashes, or The previous screenshot is dragged instead of the one I just took. Anyone else seeing this?
  19. Please support selectively sync notebooks! Our notebook becomes bigger and bigger especial if you are a premium user. However, our Mac hard drive is usually just 256GB or 512GB. iOS, Android version Evernote all supports. Alternote also supports this feature. This feature was asked over THREE years ago by other people. And then again and again. https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/21933-archived-howto-how-do-i-not-sync-certain-notebooks-apart-from-cancel-premium/https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/39658-selective-notebook-syncing/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/61920-synchronize-selected-notebook-on-different-pc/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/60643-stop-sync-of-folder/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/60479-selective-sync-on-computer-roadmap/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/67191-syncing-only-a-few-notebooks-to-from-my-home-account-to-my-work-computer/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/65599-request-sync-only-select-notebooks/ I was a premium user. I like Evernote so much. But my hard drive has limited storage, so I canceled my premium account. And my friends canceled their premium accounts because of the same reason. Please support selectively sync notebooks! Thanks!
  20. There was a golden era for a few months, maybe even a year, when Evernote's text formatting was pretty solid, but now the extraneous line breaks have returned. It makes using Evernote with any other text-accepting program incredibly frustrating. I haven't been able to find a solid repro path, but I have found that in notes that have nothing but text, and which have no formatting of any kind, sometimes when I copy/paste the text from Evernote into other apps there will be extraneous line breaks. There will frequently be an extra line break above the first line of the note, and sometimes extra line breaks are inserted randomly in between lines of text. They aren't inserted mid-sentence, they are always inserted where there is a line break. It's as if you hit Enter twice when starting a new line, not just once. In my experience, this is 100% caused by Evernote. I have tested it with numerous other text-handling apps, and Evernote is always the culprit. Here's a probably-not-comprehensive list of other apps that interoperate perfectly with each other, but not with simple text from Evernote: FirefoxNotesTabPagesScrivenerSparrowTextEditUnity3D EditorI have notes that look correct in Evernote (i.e. no extraneous line breaks) that will have line breaks if I copy them into any of the above programs. The text always looks right in Evernote and is always busted in the same way in any other app I paste it into. If I recreate the exact same text in any of the programs above and paste them into any of the other programs above, the integrity of the text is preserved perfectly. It seems that Evernote still doesn't have a clean text formatting engine, and that there are some non-standard ways it handles text for itself that are incompatible with the rest of the text formatting world. It's super frustrating not to be able to rely on WYSIWYG formatting. Despite all of the features that have been piled into Evernote over the years, it is a text-based program. The first thing you see when you create a note is a blank text note with a blinking cursor. It's disappointing that after years of struggles, Evernote still doesn't have acceptable text handling for basic, raw, formatting-free text. I'm using Evernote 5.2.1 on Mac and Evernote 5.4.3 on an iPad 2 and iPhone 5. I wouldn't be surprised if these extra line breaks were introduced in notes that have been edited by multiple Evernote clients.
  21. I can say for certainty (having just tried) that this works in windows 10 but not on Mac OS X. Please can this feature be added to the Mac version?
  22. Hi Folks, Evernote for Mac 7.9 Beta 1 is now available for download. You can get it here. Fixes and Improvement: Small improvements to the client. Known issues: Empty lines are eliminated when copying and pasting. Spotlight search in macOS Mojave doesn't work. Text appears fuzzy on non retina displays. Please continue sending us your feedback. Enjoy!
  23. Hello Beta testers, Evernote for Mac 7.9 Beta 2 is now available for download. You can get it here. Fixes and Improvements: Fixed an issue where notes with tables would print without table borders. Fixed an issue where copying text from Evernote and pasting it in a third party app or website would remove blank lines. Known issues: Spotlight search in macOS Mojave doesn't work. Text appears fuzzy on non retina displays. Please continue sending us your feedback. Enjoy!
  24. Hello all, hope you are well. This idea is truly for Evernote as a whole, not particularly just for Mac, however I primarily use it on Mac so I have posted this here. It would be very useful to hide certain notes or entire notebooks from appearing in 'All Notes'. For example, I often write letters in Evernote, but once they are done, I do not wish to see them when I am browsing through unfinished projects as they are completed. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance and have a good one!
  25. Sometimes we all think about our tagging behaviour and this sometimes results in editing, assigning or deleting tags from a number of existing notes. In such a case, the edit date of those notes will immediately be changed. This seems obvious, but it might get a bit cumbersome, e.g. when I delete a tag on 50 existing notes, I don't necessarily want to change the edit date of those notes, because this action has nothing to do with the note itself, but rather with my decision to re-consider my tagging behavior. This is why I'd love to see an option to assign or delete tags from notes without this resulting in changed edit dates.
