Sorry - please ignore this question. I found the answer right after I wrote the question. I'm a new user but I've read that the only way to avoid syncing selected notes or notebooks is to set up a local notebook. But I can't find information on how to set up a local notebook. I'll be putting some notes in my pc that I do not want to show up on my iphone. Can someone tell me how to do that? Thanks.

I have a local notebook on my desktop pc. I'd like to have access to this notebook on my laptop when I'm traveling. Any suggestions for an elegant solution to this that does not run the risk of data corruption or loss? One approach is to use a sync utility like FreeFileSync to sync the entire 'Databases' folder between desktop and laptop before the trip, then repeat at the end of the trip. I suppose any changes made on mobile devices after the database folder sync but before I run EN on the laptop will be detected by EN's servers as changes and properly synced. Hi, I am on Basic, and use Evernote mostly with local notebooks (hosted on my Mac laptop) with a smaller number of notebooks on a non-local folder, which I want synced to my Android phone. I started getting notifications earlier this week that my monthly usage has been used up, which I did not understand, since I had not been using my "online" folder for creating new notebooks. In the following thread, a user discovered that he/she did not have the option to create a Local notebook: EN provided the user a workaround, and also communicated the following to the user: "I was forwarded this ticket from another representative in order to help you out with the inability of your Evernote account to create local notebooks. Is it possible to restore local notebooks from a backup to v6.0.x, or should I just downgrade and pretend/wish this version never happened? -
Is there any way to generate a list of "local" notebooks? I use over 150 notebooks and discovered that two or three had been inadvertently set up as local notebooks which obviously resulted in them not synchronizing. My note count is off slightly from my web evernote data. I suspect there may be one more local notebook. Is there any way of checking without manually going through each notebook and checking its properties?
