    Hi, My computer crashed recently and I am trying to recover my local evernote notebooks. I have access to my old hard drive but I can't seem to find the evernote local notebook files. Could anyone please indicate what would be the default path and extension for local notebooks in Windows? Thanks.

    Apparently, version 6.12.3 for Mac has removed the ability to create local notebooks. If anyone knows a work-around for notebooks that I *don't* want sync'd, I'd appreciate the help! That's a MAJOR security issue in Evernote now, and may end my ability to use it for some sensitive content.

    Hi, One of my notebooks disappeared! It is a local notebook, and probably my only local notebook. (I didn't learn the meaning of a notebook being "local" after creating it and finding it doesn't sync with my other devices.) I am not sure when this happened, because I used that to take notes a year ago and stopped updating it for about as long. My guess is it is gone with some Evernote version updates. Is there a way to retrieve my notebook? Thanks,
