  1. I want to be able to view my notebooks in cards on the iPad as my home screen, similar to the desktop version (see pic). Can it still do this or is it gone?
  2. Greetings, Has anyone found an alternate to Quickoffice for the iPad with regard to editing office documents that are embedded into notes. Previously Quckoffice had a feature to link your EN account into it's cloud services area and then you could browse notebooks and open word documents right from the app. This was nice because there was no "round trip" needed within iOS. When you saved it, the document just saved right into the note. This was perfect for my workflow as I do store a lot of MS Word docs in Evernote notes. Well.. Then Google purchased Quickoffice and mucked everything up. Now the only cloud service that's offered to link is Google Drive. While GDrive is a nice service it doesn't replace EN and I want to keep using my existing workflow. My question to the users here is has anyone found an app that functions similar to the way Quickoffice used to work? Thanks in advance. Tom
  3. Can't figure it out. While working on a project that involves a lot of copy & paste from a web site to Evernote on my iPad Air, sometimes the "Save to Evernote" option is available (using the little square with the arrow at the top of the page, with AirDrop, Bookmark, etc.), & sometimes it isn't. When it is, it saves me a tremendous amount of work, as the pages are so long as to require multiple copy segments. Being able to clip the whole page is wonderful, when it is there. I can't figure out what I need to do to make it show up. Can someone help me, please? BTW, I absolutely LOVE Evernote! Thanks in advance -
  4. I recorded an audio file using the "add attachment" option while running Evernote in an iPad mini. The resulting file was a large one (100+ Mb) and I cannot sync the note. I want to be able to copy the audio file to another place or to another software where I can use it with other programs and then delete the note. Is there any way I can do this?
  5. It's great that Evernote syncs to my ipad and that i can access my notes offline but the problem is my ipad memory/disk is getting full. Can i delete notes (pdfs) from the ipad only? Thanks
  6. Hi I don't know if anyone has any bright ideas about this but it's driving me crazy. I'm using an iMac with Mavericks which in all respects is working perfectly. I also use a MacBook Pro and an iPad Air (iOS7), all these devices run Evernote and all connect to the same wireless router. The problem is with the iPad, it works absolutely fine with all other applications but when I use Evernote it almost immediately disconnects from the WiFi and will not reconnect, I just get the dreaded cannot connect message. I've tried deleting the network and reinstating it, i've tried removing the network and resetting it. Been through the switch on airplane mode, shut down and then start up again route but still I'm unable to reconnect the WiFi. Whilst all these connection problems are going on the iMac and MacBook continue to work normally so the WiFi is there and the broadband is working just fine but something is left hanging which prevents the iPad connecting again. All I can do is reset the router itself and then the iPad will reconnect, but will after a very short time drop the connection again. Any advice or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Q
  7. When I post to Evernote from my iPad the tags list is as created and not alpha sorted. The list on desktops are sorted without issue. Am I missing something?
  8. When I open Evernote on my iPad, it opens a non-selectable search field and appears to crashes If I double click the select button, it is there in background looking normal. As soon as I select it, it opens looking normal, shifts to the blocked search screen and goes away again.
  9. Simply put I am now unable to use Evernote on my iPhone5 after upgrading to the new version of Evernote. The older version worked fine with iOS7, however the new version -- even the update today (Sep 27) didn't fix it. Here's what happens. If I click the icon on my iPad (mini) running the new iOS7, Evernote opens and runs properly. Trying the same thing on my iPhone 5 and Evernote loads then it "crashes?" and drops into the background. I can double-click to see background apps and it's there but when I try and bring it to the foreground it flashes onto the screen and then crashes again. I've tried shutting off and restarting my phone. It's annoying because I preferred using Evernote Premium on my iPhone over my iPad. Any assistance on resolving this would be appreciated. I just paid to renew my pro service for another year and I'm wondering if that was a smart move???
  10. Hi I hope someone can explain to me how this works because it really intrigues me. I'm using Evernote on my iMac, a MacBook and on an iPad, I love it. On the iMac I have quite a lot of notes with attached PDFs and when I do a search the text within the PDFs is also searched as expected which is fine. If I am at home on my wireless network and therefore have Internet access and do the same search on the iPad the searches work fine, the results are the same and the text within the PDFs is searched, all good so far. Now, if I leave home and repeat the search when I am offline the notes are searched but the text within the attached PDFs is not searched, i.e.. the same saved searches yield far fewer results because the text within the PDFs is not searched. I know from my reading that this is expected behaviour but I'd be very interested if someone could clarify exactly how this works. When I'm online are my PDFs on the iPad actually being searched on the Evernote servers rather than on the iPad itself and the results returned that way, that's all I can think of? Searches on the MacBook work fine online or offline, in the same way as on the iMac. Just intrigued! Thanks.
  11. Thank you for Evernote. A few for the wish list. 1.In my field, documents are big and long, and as I read, i feel the need to add more tags for later reference. Currently if I want to add a NEW TAG while editing, I have to interrupt my reading on the iPad (often coming out of edit mode) and go all the way up to put a new tag in which is not at all time efficient, and is dis-incentivising. Suggestion: The option to add a tag from the top bar, while reading on iPad, without having to scroll all the way back up would be very useful. This could be add tag option next to the reminder button, or within one of the buttons as a drop down. In this context, while editing, the note often jumps to the top, autoscrolling if you may, which is particularly prominent if the finger strays outwards to the white areas. 2. Secondly on ipad, when editing a document the screen is not being fully utilised and space is minimal due to the snippet window on the left, and the typing pad at the bottom. (see attached)Suggestion: Having the ability to hide the left sided bar (if in snippet view) would be great as it would provide more space to zoom into the document. 3. Is there going to be some colour choices for mark up of documents? Not critical but enhances the mark up experience! Access to the highlight tool in the context sensitive popup would be useful. Currently only the bold/italicise/underline is available in there. Thank you for considering
  12. I was wondering how to copy an evernote that has audio to my new iPad. I am trying to share a healthy portion of them, and I was wondering how i could do this.
  13. Transfer Notes to IPad - So That Notes Are On iPad with NO WI-Fi Available When I am at the beach with my iPad with NO Wi-Fi (NO web access - No Internet access): 1.) Some of my notes are available on my IPad 2.) Some of my notes are NOT available (grayed-out) How do I make ALL of my notes available on the iPad when NOT connected to the internet ?
  14. Hi I'd be grateful if someone could give me a definitive answer to this. I and my wife both have Evernote accounts, mine is a Premium Account and my wife's is currently a Free Account. I have a number of notebooks, some are just mine and the majority of them are shared notebooks for all the household documentation, which obviously we both use. I run Evernote on my iMac and my wife and I both have MacBooks running Evernote, my own notebooks and all the shared notebooks sync perfectly happily to both MacBooks and crucially all the documents (scans, pdfs, sound files etc.) all sync over to both MacBooks just fine without having to request that a particular note attachment be downloaded. Now, enter an iPad. I've installed the latest version of Evernote on my wife's iPad and she can see her own notebooks and notes and the files attached to those notes fine without having to click to download each file individually. There is loads of storage space available on the iPad. My query concerns the notes in the shared notebooks when looked at on her iPad. It seems that each shared notebook and the notes within can be seen but that files attached to those notes have to be selected for viewing rather than them having been automatically downloaded ready for use, as happens on the MacBooks. What I want to be able to have is all the notes and attachments available on the iPad rather than having to download them on an as required basis. The issue for me is that unless I can do this all the note attachments will be unavailable when away from wireless Internet, which is not at all ideal. Any advice oh wise ones? Many thanks, Q
  15. On my laptop, by habit, I view my Evernote "library" as a list of titles (List View as opposed to Thumbnail View). This compact view of my notes makes it quick and efficient for me to scroll through my collection and select a note of interest. On my iPad, it appears I'm locked into an icon view. While scrolling on the iPad is quick, this view nonetheless suffers from a huge waste of screen real estate. I would prefer a simple list view (lines of text). They might be styled (as I do my web pages) with appropriate line-spacing to make them more easily "finger-selectable". But it would surely be an aid to efficiency were I not have to scroll through screens otherwise occupied by loads of grey space. Simple note title lists would be more appropriate, or at least, I'd appreciate the option to view it that way!
  16. I want to upgrade to Evernote premium, but I am scared that doing that will save all my notes so as to make all my notes available offline to my iPad. I have a space crunch there. i would be happy to allocate about 200MB to Evernote, but not more than that. Is there a feature in which I can limit to how much data Evernote can store locally in my devices?
  17. I can't for the life of me figure out how to delete my "recent searches". I have no use, nor do I want to see this list of things I've searched for previously. I don't want anyone looking over my shoulder seeing what I did search for previously. I've cleared the cache. I've searched for every setting. I've searched online. I've shaken it upside-down. I've called my computer tech nephew. It's a simple thing that every other program that I've ever used lets me do even "Google" But for some reason I can't find it here. So please, please.. How is this done? Thank you.
  18. Hi, pretty basic question here: what is your (tried and proofed) way to save whole web pages from Safari into Evernote on the iPad? I would like to save the whole page as it is, with all the pictures, etc. Making a screenshot works some times, but only if the page I'm saving is only one screen big, otherwise screenshots are a pain in the b.... Any hints would be appreciated. Have a nice weekend folks, Tibor
  19. Hi, I am having problems with actually typing in passcode to Evernote on my iPad. It just happened following a series of Evernote crashes after copying and pasting texts. The passcode keypad shows up, but then all the circles around the numbers disappears immediately, which makes passcode input impossible. I think I set the passcode activation to 'after 15 minutes' (not sure, though), so have waited 15 minutes to log in again. But no avail. I even closed Evernote and power-off + restart the iPad, and the result was the same. Anyone having the same experience?
  20. I had to restore my ipad yesterday. I lost 95% of my notes on the iPad. I can still get to them on the PC app, and via the website. But, they're not on my ipad. How can I get them back? Sync does nothing. Thanks.
  21. I can't seem to find a way to highlight text on either my iPad or iPhone. The desktop version has a highlight tool in text formatting toolbar...am I missing something here or is this basic feature not included in the iOS versions? I'm not talking about PDFs either...plan ol' text imported into Evernote through Web Clipper or email.
  22. Opening Evernote on my 3rd gen iPad and clicking on a note that I have favorited takes about 25 seconds, from there, I tap the screen to add info to this existing note but it takes about 10-20 more seconds (screen moves up and down/zooms) until I can get into the editing screen to add some words. Is this normal for an ipad? Currently I have about 4100 notes and most are less than a page of text with no formatting. I hardly have any pics and no files saved to Evernote. I do get a synchronization error on a file that I have sent to the trash on the ipad, could this be the cause? Thanks
  23. I have an IPAD but I am too cheap to spend an extra $150 for Telco (G4) chip. So all it has it bluetooth and Wifi. Unfortunatley, Airdrop does not let me use my IPHONE to send a web page, or MP3 over bluetooth to the IPAD. But what about adding this function to Evernote. I have Evernote on both devices. It would be neat if I could use BlueTooth to sync an offline notebook between the Iphone and IPAD. Otherwise I have to use InstaShare (which might do this also): http://instashareapp.com/ But the idea of clipping articles, mp3, etc. and saving them in Evernote on the Iphone (IOS7) and then sharing them via a bluetooth (virtual airdrop) with IPAD sounds nice to me!
  24. So I recently merged 3 notes using the mac. 2 text notes and one with a picture. Now the merged note has nothing in it. The note itself seems to be there, but it's blank. It has taken on the title of one of the original notes. The picture from one of the notes shows up in the preview portion in the notes list. But there is nothing in the body of the note itself. I get an error message when trying to sync and when expanding "1 error occurred" I get: "The note 'XXXXXX' could not be synced. The content is not valid." The notes merged are completely gone on my iPad. They were logs for complaints I had with a company I'm doing business with. Now I don't have a pot to piss in when I deal with them about their issues as I have zero proof. Any way to get these notes back? Unmerge them? Undo somehow? Thanks
  25. Someone help. Just upgraded the new app for my iPad which I have used for years. Now I can't see any of my notes! I can still access them through the website but they won't sync. Desperately need them for tomorrow
