  1. Hi Since upgrading to Evernote I can't view photos on the iPhone that I have saved within notes. They are still available to view in my evernote account when viewed on a computer. Any advice appreciated. Thanks Nick
  2. Hello everyone, Evernote for iOS 8.22 is available in the App Store. Thank you in advance for your feedback! Fixed: - Bug fixes and performance improvements = the name of our new band
  3. Could we have an editor for the created/modified dates on the iPad, like we do on the desktop app? Thanks for considering! g.
  4. I'm a relatively new Evernote user and have been very pleased so far, except for one major shortcoming (at least in my humble opinion). There is no EASY way to access tags in the app. Yes, I can search, and yes, that works fairly well. But the one thing that would completely solve the problem would be to add a quick way to access the tag list on the home screen of the app. As it currently stands, under the top icons there is a space for Notes, Notebooks, and Work Chat. I would like to add a space for Tags under Notebooks and before Work Chat. Ideally I would also be able to remove the Work Chat section. I don't use Evernote in a collaborative way, so this is just wasted space. Thanks for "listening" to my request!
  5. So I read the blog post touting the amazing new iOS 11 Siri integration with Evernote and have been trying to use it but without success. I've enabled Siri for Evernote, and have updated to the latest version of Evernote. I tried telling Siri "Evernote, make a note about blah blah blah" and to my surprise, Siri makes an Apple note, not an Evernote note. I tried all of the suggestions in the blog post. Can anyone help me with this? Am I missing some setting? Edit: Link to the blog post: https://blog.evernote.com/blog/2017/09/19/hey-siri-create-note-evernote/ So the blog post gives the following examples: “Evernote, create a note called Meeting Ideas” “Evernote, add ‘I should bring pizza’ to my Meeting Ideas note” “Evernote, create a list with ‘order lunch’ and ‘make itinerary’” “Show me what I created today in Evernote” Results Example 1 creates an Apple note. Example 2 modifies an Apple note. Example 3 creates an Apple Reminder. Example 4 just opens Evernote. So after trying a few things, I was successfully able to get Siri to create a note in Evernote using this syntax: "Create a note in Evernote" Siri then asks me what I want to put in the note. So I tell it. Then it asks to confirm. Then it creates it. So it seems that the blog post example syntax for Siri to create notes in Evernote is wrong.
  6. The new update for iOS looks really great with significant improvements in the interface. However, losing presentation mode is a big deal for me. As a someone who teaches and speaks regularly I LOVED presentation mode. I was able to design a speaking outline and then use presentation mode live to just scroll through my notes as I speak. The way it stripped out all other buttons and such made it something I used multiple times a week for the last 2 years. Is there any chance it might come back or something else like it? If there was a way to freeze the keyboard and/or other options/buttons it would get me close enough to where it was before. Let me know what you think.
  7. When I keep logs on Evernote and view them on my iPhone, I have to scroll to the bottom to make an addition. Scrolling to the bottom every time is a real time waster. My ask is for some simple way to be able to quickly move to the bottom of the note so that I can add to it.
  8. Using Evernote intensively on my iPhone, iPad and Chromebook, Imiss the following functions: - adjust "creation date" & "adjusted date" - merge selected notes I use these quite frequently - then I need to switch on my Windows laptop, as the Windows client does deliver these features.hen I scan in documents, I always adjust the creation date to the formal date on the document (NOT the date I added the note...) When are these features scheduled for Web client and/or iOS clients?
  9. I must be mistaken..Evernote is touted as the biggest note app out there and all my notes come up as 'untitled note' as the app doesn't take the first line of the note as the title. I must be wrong? Surely they have not missed this basic feature? It's part of the ease of use and workflow built into every app, surely the developers thought of this? There have been so many updates for iOS, did i download an old version? Please tell me I'm wrong as this is bonkers to not have this feature. Why do i have to go through an extra step every time i create a note to add a title? Onenote has this. Why are the developers not listening to the customer base? https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/24126-automatic-note-titles/page-4 https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/53886-please-bring-back-auto-titling-on-ipad-ios7/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/43071-feature-request-first-line-of-text-note-title-settings-option/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/24512-prepopulated-title-field/?hl=%2Btitle+%2Bname https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/55564-set-note-title-to-selected-text/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/15999-first-line-of-note-as-note-title/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/16293-using-first-line-of-note-as-title/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/23360-help-question-about-note-titles/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/26857-request-use-first-line-as-note-title-when-title-is-not-entered/ Is there any word on when this is coming as other iterations of Evernote have it but the iOS version. This is the one basic thing a notebook app should do: be able to take down readable notes quickly as possible Do you know why my notebook looks like? untitled note untitled note untitled note untitled note untitled noteuntitled note untitled note untitled note untitled note untitled note Evernote, what's your response? See the threads above, this has been asked by customers for years. Please add this one line of code in the app to take the first line and put it as the title. Now Microsoft has Onenote out, you'll have to step it up.
  10. Hello all! Evernote for iOS 8.21 is now available to the App Store! As always, any feedback is welcome! Improved - If the app seems a little zippier now, it’s not your imagination. We made some tweaks so your notes will load faster. - We take data security very seriously, so we made some updates to keep your information even more secure. Fixed - If you share a note with more than two people, you can now see all their email addresses on the share screen. That’ll help avoid any awkward sharing accidents. - Photos you add using the camera icon will now appear in chronological order. So “Wedding 2019” will appear after “Spring Break 2015”. Just like real life. - 'Unlock with Face ID’ will now let you create a photo note using 3D Touch. It didn’t do that before, which went against the whole spirit of ‘unlock.' - When you created an offline notebook, you sometimes got a message saying “Notebook downloading.” Was it downloading anything? No, but it won’t say that anymore.
  11. For those interested in IOS scripting, these screenshots show the Evernote Actions available' The initial screen shows a menu of actions on the left You drag the action to the workspace on the right to form a sequence Below are Evernote Actions Get Notes Append to Note Create New Note Get Note Link Delete Notes
  12. Hi all, Nerves frayed here: So, my friend and I are trying to set up a shared Evernote account. He has the app on his Macbook Pro. He can log on. He can also log on through the webpage. I have a Macbook running Sierra. I set up an account and was able to log on through the browser, but when I try with the app, I get a dialogue box stating that there is an internet connection error (which there isn't since I can log on through the browser) and then a message that my username or password are incorrect (which they are not because I can log on through the browser). So, I then select reset password, and so it all starts again. My friend has himself sought help from the CS team but he's only being offered CS call times sometime in July. We don't want to wait until July. Nor June. Nor August. Is there anyway that I can actually use the Evernote app successfully on my laptop (it works on my iPhone). Thanks.
  13. Hey there, I am a very big Evernote fan using this application in my business environment. Here I especially make use of the feature of taking hand written notes with my iPad and my Apple Pencil. By doing so I'm constantly facing one issue: When finishing 1 hand written page there's no easy way to add a second page in order to keep a natural note flow. Instead, the page needs to be saved and then the cursor needs to be put after the note before another hand written page can be inserted manually. This process hurts to be honest. Maybe you can help me. Am I doing something wrong or is that a non-solved Evernote bug? I've also started using Penultimate but the way of syncing notes into specific notebooks is not satisfying to me. Thanks!
  14. How do I add Evernote app as a complication for an Apple Watch Face? I have Evernote installed on the watch and iPhone and they work together. But I want to make Evernote more quickly accessible on the watch by adding it to a Watch Face as a complication.
  15. It would be extremely helpful to be able highlight/mark text on Evernote for iPhone and iPad. I am actually quite shocked this feature doesn't already exist. If it does currently exist, please feel free to make fun of me for not being able to find the feature within the app.
  16. Title says it all: even if Evernote support says they were not happy with how it worked (well, me neither:-), it was still good to have it. Quite often it clicked and was ready to use. And it was very easy to override it with my own note title. Because of that I do not quite see the reason why to discontinue it - it was not mandatory, it was just an option - sometimes very handy. Please, see the discussion I had with the support: Ava H (Evernote Help and Learning) Feb 22, 12:06 PST Hello Ros, Thank you so much for contacting Evernote Customer Support. My name is Ava, and I will be happy to help you today. I understand that you were looking to enable suggested note titles in Evernote for your iPhone. This feature was removed with the most recent update because it wasn't quite working the way that we preferred. We decided to give you more control over how to title your notes, rather than using an algorithm to suggest note titles based on location, calendar event, or note content. Evernote's development team remains small and we wanted to concentrate more on our core values in order to provide you with the best note taking experience possible. I understand that the updates do take a little bit of an adjustment period but, we truly believe that they offer the most intuitive user experience on our iOS application to date. I will make sure to mark this on my end with your ticket but I'd also encourage you to post this on our Evernote User Forum, where you and other users can suggest new feature ideas, and vote for them. While we can't guarantee all feature requests or design ideas will be implemented, our development team regularly reviews product feedback submitted through the Evernote User Forum. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Best, Ava H Rostislav Říha Feb 13, 07:25 PST %subj% says it all - on the latest version automatic note title suggestions do not appear. Is it some setting (where?) or was this feature discontinued? Thanks Ros
  17. How can I get all the past cards I have scanned in through Scannable to automatically go over to Contacts now that I have adjusted this setting?
  18. Hi all! Evernote version 8.20 is now available on the App Store! We welcome any feedback, thanks! It was a day like any other. Until you tried to create a note in a shared notebook, and the app suddenly crashed. You fell to your knees, pounded your fists on the floor, and cried out in despair, “Whyyy? Why, in the name of all that is good and decent, can’t they just fix that?” We’ve got great news: we fixed that.
  19. Usually I want links I've copied and pasted from Evernote to open the note right in the Evernote App on my Mac or iPhone or iPad. In this thread I learned about the behavior of "normal" versus "classic" note links on a Mac. However, I wonder how I can get a "classic" note link when I'm on iOS? Often times I want to create a Link and paste it into a n external app like Things or Notes or Fantastical, but then the link fires up Safari and I am forced to authenticate because I don't use Evernote in Safari often. So, is there a way to create "classic" links from Evernote app on iOS somehow?
  20. There is a pre-defined Shortcut in the iOS Shortcuts app that says "Add new note from Watch" but I'll be darned if I can figure it out. I can tap on it in the Shortcuts app and do a note, but I don't know how to make this work from the Apple Watch, which would seem to be the point. I'm not seeing how to install Shortcuts to the Watch via the Watch app on my phone, and there isn't anything obvious on my Watch to make this happen that I've found. Running all the latest release versions on iOS and watchOS. (No beta's)
  21. Please increase tags functionality for iOS devices: 1) We need *simple* multi-tag search. 2) We need auto-populate of tag names. 3) We need the tag library to reflect our desktop organization (e.g. order, nesting, etc), just as with Notebooks. The iOS apps are horridly crippled without these functions in place. Without them, you have only a few options: 1) Do without multi-tag filtering... Do you have something tagged for a person AND as an agenda item (something to talk about next time you see that person)? Too bad, you can only pull up EVERYTHING for that person, which may include years of emails, mtg notes, etc. OR you can pull up EVERYTHING tagged as "agenda", thus including large numbers of items irrelevant to who you are actually standing with. Insert your own example of useful multi-characteristic filtering, then accept that you can't accomplish them. 2) Utilize saved searches... This works perfectly, but causes, as it has caused with my Evernote, your Shortcut list to become monstrously long defeating to some degree the idea of a "shortcut list". In the end, you choose a few definitely needed multi-tag searches and resign yourself to option #1 above for most things. 3) Attempt to use complicated boolean search strings... This works in a highly non-intuitive way AND requires you to remember the exact wording of your desired tags, often difficult in situations where you are looking for a person for instance and don't remember if you listed them as Dan or Daniel. If you utilize an extensive tag list (a strength of the desktop Evernote applications) this works almost never, thus you resort to a few items under option #2, and mostly surrender to option #1. It seems quite strange that this is an unavailable functionality, especially because of how many people tell me it WAS available prior to 2011/2012. It's a very frustrating situation which is crippling the usability of the iOS apps for easy daily use. Please fix, or at least give us some idea of why this oft asked for functionality is still unavailable. Thank you!
  22. This is my experience with Evernote‘s search funtion on the iPad: I pick the search icon on the left, below the „all notes“ icon. I enter a search term on the search screen that is shown. I press Enter. Now I see a list of notes that contain the search expression. So far, it is ok. What I see as a problem: This listing does not show where in the note the search hits are located. So, I have to enter the same search expression in the „Search in note“ function for each note, via the top right menu that opens when I pick the „...“ icon. In contrast, if I do a search on the desktop Evernote, each note in the list scrolls down to the first occurrence of the search result, and all search results in each note are highlighted. So, it is easy to see the search results at their place in all notes on the desktop Evernotes, but impossible in the iPad Evernote. Unless I type in the same search expression in each and every note in the results list. Do I miss something? Or is this a function that is just not supported in Evernote‘s iPad version? Thanks much!
  23. On the Apple Watch app, the "+" icon starts the creation of a note, but the microphone icon takes me to what appears to be an audio-recording screen -- but once on that screen, it does not record audio. What is that icon for?
  24. Several other note-taking apps have this, but essentially, when the Apple Pencil is connected it is the ONLY input device for drawing and writing. This enables easier scrolling with just one finger (since that finger doesn't write anymore) and also causes less accidental marks with the finger.
  25. Hi all, we released our 8.18 update to the App Store last week. Thanks in advance for any feedback! Improved: Tired of waiting to load and search your offline notebooks? We hear you. That’ll all happen much quicker now. Dark Mode is seriously awesome, and it’s getting better every day. For example, your handwritten notes might have been a little hard to see, but not anymore. Fixed: You might have been asked to sign into your Apple ID whenever you launched Evernote. We’ll admit that was a bit of an overreaction. Sometimes there was a screen glitch when you reopened the app. So we just went ahead and fixed the glitch. Problem’s solved from your end. Occasionally, some of the formatting icons would just up and disappear while you were editing. Which was not helpful in the slightest. Are you someone who creates huge offline notebooks? Worried about them not downloading fast enough? Well it won’t be a problem now.
