  1. Hi all, Evernote 8.24 is now available on the App Store. Feel free to share any feedback! New: -Remember when you were a kid, anxiously counting down the days until your birthday? That’s how we feel waiting for iOS 13. For now, we’re busy tweaking the app to get ready for all the cool new features.
  2. Something I often need to do: annotate a PDF on my iPad with my pencil so I can send it back to someone, for instance a form I need to fill. Being a good evernote user, I naturally want to do this through evernote. However, when I attempt to do it right now, this is what happens: I select the note with the PDF within I tap on the PDF, it opens and fills the screen I reach for the pen and attempt to write on the PDF -- the PDF moves instead. Evernote thinks I'm just using the pencil instead of my finger to move around the PDF. Not good. I tap the "annotate" button up right. The PDF re-opens in a somewhat different layout (why ?) Using the pen, I attempt to write on the PDF -- the PDF moves instead. Not good. I select the "pen" tool: I first tap the "arrows" icon at bottom-right, then I tap the "pen" icon. I finally can annotate the PDF. In total, once the PDF is opened on screen I need to tap three things (annotate->arrows->pen) before I'm able to annotate the PDF. Instead, as soon I put the pen on the screen Evernote could assume that I'm trying to write on the PDF. I imagine that it's the main reason why people would use their pencil on screen. That change would save me three taps and two confusing user experiences when I end up moving around the PDF with my pen (twice in very short succession). In addition: the pencil annotation engine is weak, it has trouble following you when you write too fast (PDF expert has no problem) so your writing often ends up hard to understand. It is just not an enjoyable experience overall so I generally try to avoid it (even though I want to use Evernote) when you are in annotation mode and writing with the pencil, you can't just flip pages using your finger -- Evernote thinks you want to annotate the PDF with your finger as well. I know you can use both fingers but at the point when you remember it you often have already drawn lines over the PDF with your finger (that you need to undo). It seems pretty safe to me to assume that if you are annotating a PDF with your pencil and suddenly you use your finger it means you're trying to change the page. Again PDF expert does this right. If you close the PDF and open another one in annotation mode, the tool selection goes back to "move" instead on staying on the last-used "pen". Confusion again. My suggestions would be: at least when the user enters annotate mode switch back to the last used tool. in annotate mode, if the user is using a pencil to annotate, finger taps should move the PDF around if the user taps an opened PDF with the pencil, switch to annotate mode with the pen tool selected.
  3. Sometime recently, my iphone has simply stopped uploading photos to Evernote. I use the Document Photo feature a lot, and recently whenever I do it I see the following: New photo note Take a pic Hit "Done" Edit the note to add a title and tags. Then, the note seems to get stuck with the green upload arrow, and never finished. I can see a note with the same properties on my Macbook, but the image is just a giant blank. The image loads fine on my iPhone, but seems to never actually upload. I've tried it multiple times with multiple notes to no success. I just installed the ios evernote update (June 11, 2018 9:56:50 PM) and see no improvement. Anyone else experiencing this?
  4. There were no updates of Penultimate for a year now although there are lots of open issues: Insufficient support for Apple Pencil: It is still possible to leave marks with the hands. The input should be Pencil only - like it is in GoodNotes - to avoid any unwanted marks. Leaving the app (to the homescreen, to another app) and going back will bring you always to another page of the current note. Very annoying! Lasso cut & paste leaves marks. But on the other hand the functionality of Penultimate is not integrated fully in Evernote. So is there any future for Penultimate? Will there be any further updates? With the new iPad Pros and iOS 11 Apple Pencil became essential for note taking. As a subscriber of Evernote Premium I would like to know what is the answer of Evernote to this development.
  5. Hi there, You can print from within the Evernote App for iOS. To do this: 1. Open a the note you want to print and tap on the 'Share' icon: 2. From the 'Share Note' screen, tap on the Shareable link icon: 3. This will bring up the iOS Sharesheet. From there, tap on 'Print': 4. This should then take you to the print preview where you can select the desired printer, and then print the note: Hopefully this helps, and feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any other questions!
  6. Would love to be able to edit notes created date in iOS. I scan my notes and don't always scan them on the dates I write them and like to have the date created and the note date match for sorting purposes.
  7. My iPad is stuck in a loop of sign in to iTunes popup. A hard restart does not fix this. As far as I know my only option is to do a RESET after backing up my ipad to the mac, which I know how to do. After reset I will have the mac fetch everything from iTunes , including EN. 1. Will my ipad get the EN app version that I currently have, which is 5.7 or thereabouts? 2. Will my ipad get my EN data or will I need to get that from my EN cloud account? thanks
  8. I think I’ve created 2 different accounts with the same email address. Now I can’t log in to my original one, so I can’t accesos to my notes. What can I do?
  9. Hi, Is it possible to remove the time when a note was created? I find it a bit distracting. Thomas
  10. Is there any hope of getting the ability to change font/test sizes/colors on iOS? There were people in 2012 pointing out that this feature was lacking and here we are in 2015 and we still don't have it. This is a pretty core need and it really surprises me that EN does not support it, given that it is supported on web and desktop.
  11. I found a pretty nasty bug that I can recreate: Create a new note on my iPad. Tap the pen to use my Pencil to hand write some notes. Don't hit "Done" when finished, instead switch to a different app (i.e. Mail to look up something. It really doesn't matter which app). Go back to Evernote, and the handwriting is gone… it's a blank new note. Cry.
  12. Hi all, Evernote for iOS was released on 8/21 to the App Store. As always, we welcome any feedback. Fixed: - Occasionally, images you'd captured with your device's camera wouldn’t show up when you opened a note. They were there all along, but now you’ll be able to see them too. - We also fixed some specific issues that were causing the app to misbehave.
  13. When taking notes on my iPad, the keyboard covers the text, and the screen will not let me scroll down to the bottom of my text while typing. The result is that I'm typing without being able to see what I'm typing. I also cannot use the text selection tool in any text covered by the keyboard. I've included a photo. Suffice to say this is extremely frustrating. Is this a bug with my iOS, or is this Evernote? Also, how long does it usually take for customer service to respond to help requests? It's been two days.
  14. Regardless if using a stylus or Apple Pencil, it would be extremely useful to be able to extend the drawing area in all directions (left, right, up down) and create more space for drawing. It is too small today and I can't fit everything I need into a single screen sized drawing.
  15. Hi Since upgrading to Evernote I can't view photos on the iPhone that I have saved within notes. They are still available to view in my evernote account when viewed on a computer. Any advice appreciated. Thanks Nick
  16. Hello everyone, Evernote for iOS 8.22 is available in the App Store. Thank you in advance for your feedback! Fixed: - Bug fixes and performance improvements = the name of our new band
  17. Could we have an editor for the created/modified dates on the iPad, like we do on the desktop app? Thanks for considering! g.
  18. I'm a relatively new Evernote user and have been very pleased so far, except for one major shortcoming (at least in my humble opinion). There is no EASY way to access tags in the app. Yes, I can search, and yes, that works fairly well. But the one thing that would completely solve the problem would be to add a quick way to access the tag list on the home screen of the app. As it currently stands, under the top icons there is a space for Notes, Notebooks, and Work Chat. I would like to add a space for Tags under Notebooks and before Work Chat. Ideally I would also be able to remove the Work Chat section. I don't use Evernote in a collaborative way, so this is just wasted space. Thanks for "listening" to my request!
  19. So I read the blog post touting the amazing new iOS 11 Siri integration with Evernote and have been trying to use it but without success. I've enabled Siri for Evernote, and have updated to the latest version of Evernote. I tried telling Siri "Evernote, make a note about blah blah blah" and to my surprise, Siri makes an Apple note, not an Evernote note. I tried all of the suggestions in the blog post. Can anyone help me with this? Am I missing some setting? Edit: Link to the blog post: https://blog.evernote.com/blog/2017/09/19/hey-siri-create-note-evernote/ So the blog post gives the following examples: “Evernote, create a note called Meeting Ideas” “Evernote, add ‘I should bring pizza’ to my Meeting Ideas note” “Evernote, create a list with ‘order lunch’ and ‘make itinerary’” “Show me what I created today in Evernote” Results Example 1 creates an Apple note. Example 2 modifies an Apple note. Example 3 creates an Apple Reminder. Example 4 just opens Evernote. So after trying a few things, I was successfully able to get Siri to create a note in Evernote using this syntax: "Create a note in Evernote" Siri then asks me what I want to put in the note. So I tell it. Then it asks to confirm. Then it creates it. So it seems that the blog post example syntax for Siri to create notes in Evernote is wrong.
  20. The new update for iOS looks really great with significant improvements in the interface. However, losing presentation mode is a big deal for me. As a someone who teaches and speaks regularly I LOVED presentation mode. I was able to design a speaking outline and then use presentation mode live to just scroll through my notes as I speak. The way it stripped out all other buttons and such made it something I used multiple times a week for the last 2 years. Is there any chance it might come back or something else like it? If there was a way to freeze the keyboard and/or other options/buttons it would get me close enough to where it was before. Let me know what you think.
  21. When I keep logs on Evernote and view them on my iPhone, I have to scroll to the bottom to make an addition. Scrolling to the bottom every time is a real time waster. My ask is for some simple way to be able to quickly move to the bottom of the note so that I can add to it.
  22. Using Evernote intensively on my iPhone, iPad and Chromebook, Imiss the following functions: - adjust "creation date" & "adjusted date" - merge selected notes I use these quite frequently - then I need to switch on my Windows laptop, as the Windows client does deliver these features.hen I scan in documents, I always adjust the creation date to the formal date on the document (NOT the date I added the note...) When are these features scheduled for Web client and/or iOS clients?
  23. I must be mistaken..Evernote is touted as the biggest note app out there and all my notes come up as 'untitled note' as the app doesn't take the first line of the note as the title. I must be wrong? Surely they have not missed this basic feature? It's part of the ease of use and workflow built into every app, surely the developers thought of this? There have been so many updates for iOS, did i download an old version? Please tell me I'm wrong as this is bonkers to not have this feature. Why do i have to go through an extra step every time i create a note to add a title? Onenote has this. Why are the developers not listening to the customer base? https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/24126-automatic-note-titles/page-4 https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/53886-please-bring-back-auto-titling-on-ipad-ios7/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/43071-feature-request-first-line-of-text-note-title-settings-option/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/24512-prepopulated-title-field/?hl=%2Btitle+%2Bname https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/55564-set-note-title-to-selected-text/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/15999-first-line-of-note-as-note-title/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/16293-using-first-line-of-note-as-title/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/23360-help-question-about-note-titles/ https://discussion.evernote.com/topic/26857-request-use-first-line-as-note-title-when-title-is-not-entered/ Is there any word on when this is coming as other iterations of Evernote have it but the iOS version. This is the one basic thing a notebook app should do: be able to take down readable notes quickly as possible Do you know why my notebook looks like? untitled note untitled note untitled note untitled note untitled noteuntitled note untitled note untitled note untitled note untitled note Evernote, what's your response? See the threads above, this has been asked by customers for years. Please add this one line of code in the app to take the first line and put it as the title. Now Microsoft has Onenote out, you'll have to step it up.
  24. Maybe I am just missing it, but is there a way to merge notes on the iPad?
  25. Hello all! Evernote for iOS 8.21 is now available to the App Store! As always, any feedback is welcome! Improved - If the app seems a little zippier now, it’s not your imagination. We made some tweaks so your notes will load faster. - We take data security very seriously, so we made some updates to keep your information even more secure. Fixed - If you share a note with more than two people, you can now see all their email addresses on the share screen. That’ll help avoid any awkward sharing accidents. - Photos you add using the camera icon will now appear in chronological order. So “Wedding 2019” will appear after “Spring Break 2015”. Just like real life. - 'Unlock with Face ID’ will now let you create a photo note using 3D Touch. It didn’t do that before, which went against the whole spirit of ‘unlock.' - When you created an offline notebook, you sometimes got a message saying “Notebook downloading.” Was it downloading anything? No, but it won’t say that anymore.
