  1. Hi, I have a Evernote notebook with entries named with a specific datestamp as first word (e. g. 2016-09-21) and want to see last entries first so on desktop I set reverse alphabetical order. On desktop there is this option and it works. But on iOS I have to scroll down the whole list because there is no reverse order option?!?!Regards Ernst
  2. I have seen this topic discussed in older posts, but nothing recently. I have just started a process of daily logging for my job and can see the shortcuts for the D/T stamp on the PC, but has anything been done for the iOS app to give it that same functionality?
  3. How can I get all the past cards I have scanned in through Scannable to automatically go over to Contacts now that I have adjusted this setting?
  4. Hi all! Evernote version 8.20 is now available on the App Store! We welcome any feedback, thanks! It was a day like any other. Until you tried to create a note in a shared notebook, and the app suddenly crashed. You fell to your knees, pounded your fists on the floor, and cried out in despair, “Whyyy? Why, in the name of all that is good and decent, can’t they just fix that?” We’ve got great news: we fixed that.
  5. I use Evernote daily & haven't encountered this problem before, but while typing additional details into a note, it suddenly started overwriting previous text. So now I can only type new text. I cannot go back and add to what's already there or correct a typo. It is not the "Insert" key doing this. As you click a letter to place the cursor there, it no longer blinks, it highlights the letter. Normally, if this happened by accident, simply hitting the left or right arrow keys would resolve this and you can type away. But this now only highlights the next or previous letter. This is extremely frustrating as well as time consuming & I don't know how to make it stop doing this. Did I accidentally turn this feature on or is this a glitch?
  6. Dear Evernote iOS development team, Please include nested tags / hierarchy into the iOS version! I finally made the move to become a premium user after discovering the the usefulness of tag nesting / hierarchy in organising notes on the Mac Evernote. Just about to port all my notes into evernote, then I realised the iOS version can't see the nested / heirarchy structure !! aagh and I've just paid for a whole year subscription ...bummer~ I understand there are tonnes of requests out there, but this seems to be a crucial notes organisation feature to be considered for inclusion? Please add this feature in line with the desktop apps please? My setup: Mac Evernote (on iMac) - for work at home iOS 8 Evernote (on iPad + keyboard) - for taking notes during work and conferences.
  7. I use Evernote extensively on my Mac, iPad Pro, and iPhone. We use shared notebooks in my office and I have a ScanSnap Evernote Edition sitting on my desk. (I even have Evernote desk accessories sitting next to the scanner.) I'm pretty well immersed in the world of Evernote. However, I've found myself turning to other tools, most recently OneNote, with greater frequency. The main issue, and it is a big one for me, is the fragmented and inferior support for note taking and PDF editing in Evernote. I use my iPad Pro with Apple Pencil extensively. There are some great Pencil-compatible apps for iOS, including Notability, PDF Expert, and OneNote. Evernote, on the other hand, is stuck with a strange and fragmented approach: PDFs can by opened using the "Annotate" tool in Evernote, which I think is built around the remnants of Skitch. It's fine for adding arrows and icons, but terrible (unusable) for handwritten notes on PDFs. It really can't be used for anything more than simple highlighting -- certainly not detailed annotation or note taking. Drawings and notes can be added to an Evernote Note directly through the handwriting tool, but this simply inserts an image into the note. There's no way to use this tool to take notes over multiple pages, or to use it for annotation as far as I can tell. I've also found it to the buggy, with full pages of notes lost if you switch away from Evernote to another app before saving the image and returning to the normal notes view. I will say that that, though the tool is very limited, with very few options, the Pencil support works well and writing is fluid. This tool seems to have the most potential for future development. Finally, there is Penultimate -- a separate app I want to love but is just too buggy, too limited, and too walled off from the rest of Evernote to be truly useful. Again, no support for importing PDFs/annotation, yet another approach to handwriting, and, though the Penultimate notes live in Evernote, nothing can be done with them in the main app. Why, at this stage, would Evernote have three separate, incompatible and incongruous approaches to annotation/note taking, none of which begin to match the functionality of some of the other apps named? Attached PDFs can certainly be opened in other apps, such as PDF Expert, but there is no way to get the annotated PDFs back into an Evernote note without deleting the original attachment and reattaching the PDF. That's cumbersome, and annotation seems like pretty basic functionality that Evernote should offer. Evernote certainly has some broader advantages over OneNote, but really needs to explore something like the "canvas" style approach used by OneNote. The ability to "print" PDFs to a OneNote page and then markup the document itself and take notes/add text/etc. all on one page is invaluable. I've pretty much switched all note taking/PDF annotation to OneNote, with Evernote still used for project management and other organizational needs, which leaves me with my own fragmentation. Maybe I'm missing something in Evernote's approach, but I'm a longtime user that's completely frustrated with Evernote's inferior support for annotation and handwritten notes.
  8. Usually I want links I've copied and pasted from Evernote to open the note right in the Evernote App on my Mac or iPhone or iPad. In this thread I learned about the behavior of "normal" versus "classic" note links on a Mac. However, I wonder how I can get a "classic" note link when I'm on iOS? Often times I want to create a Link and paste it into a n external app like Things or Notes or Fantastical, but then the link fires up Safari and I am forced to authenticate because I don't use Evernote in Safari often. So, is there a way to create "classic" links from Evernote app on iOS somehow?
  9. Would love to be able to edit notes created date in iOS. I scan my notes and don't always scan them on the dates I write them and like to have the date created and the note date match for sorting purposes.
  10. There is a pre-defined Shortcut in the iOS Shortcuts app that says "Add new note from Watch" but I'll be darned if I can figure it out. I can tap on it in the Shortcuts app and do a note, but I don't know how to make this work from the Apple Watch, which would seem to be the point. I'm not seeing how to install Shortcuts to the Watch via the Watch app on my phone, and there isn't anything obvious on my Watch to make this happen that I've found. Running all the latest release versions on iOS and watchOS. (No beta's)
  11. This is my experience with Evernote‘s search funtion on the iPad: I pick the search icon on the left, below the „all notes“ icon. I enter a search term on the search screen that is shown. I press Enter. Now I see a list of notes that contain the search expression. So far, it is ok. What I see as a problem: This listing does not show where in the note the search hits are located. So, I have to enter the same search expression in the „Search in note“ function for each note, via the top right menu that opens when I pick the „...“ icon. In contrast, if I do a search on the desktop Evernote, each note in the list scrolls down to the first occurrence of the search result, and all search results in each note are highlighted. So, it is easy to see the search results at their place in all notes on the desktop Evernotes, but impossible in the iPad Evernote. Unless I type in the same search expression in each and every note in the results list. Do I miss something? Or is this a function that is just not supported in Evernote‘s iPad version? Thanks much!
  12. The web clipper on mac does a great job of clipping simplified articles. On iOS, however, evernote clips the entire page (when chosen from the action menu). is there any way to clip a simplified article in iOS like the web clipper does on Mac?
  13. On the Apple Watch app, the "+" icon starts the creation of a note, but the microphone icon takes me to what appears to be an audio-recording screen -- but once on that screen, it does not record audio. What is that icon for?
  14. On Mac and iOS, for documents with many Skitch annotations, the annotation summary presents as a single page that includes only the first ~20 annotations. Is this a known problem?
  15. I now use Evernote solely on my iPhone and iPad as I have moved to just using those devices for 90% of my work now. Evernote, could be a large part of that as it has for the last many years. However there is one feature that is causing a real sticking point in my organization with the application. Selecting more than one note at a time. This is a feature that almost every single other PDF organization application has had implemented for years on iOS. I can't quite understand why Evernote doesn't have it yet as it really hampers the power of the application imho. Currently it is very difficult to move a bunch of notes in my 'inbox', if you will, to the correct Stack. This is the biggest issue for me. I might have 50 new items for a day that have been sent or scanned into Evernote, but then I have to process each one individually via tapping the note open, then tapping the stack it is currently held in, then scroll to the new stack, then select that and close the item. Sounds like a small thing, but with MANY docs like most people on this forum have I would think, it is incredibly time consuming. It would be so much easier to do what pretty much all the other PDF applications do and allow you to select MORE THAN ONE AT A TIME. Seems like a simple thing and something that may have slipped through the cracks. This would also help with deletion, merging etc. But more than anything MOVING the files to the correct spot. Organization would be greatly simplified for the iOS user. I hope that this is something that makes it in soon as I am slowly being forced to move to another application like PDF Expert, or Dropbox. I may loose some features but gaining this one would be a large win.
  16. Anyone know how to add a telelphone number to a note in the mac client or ios so that when I open the note on my ios device I can simply click on the link to have my phone dial the number? I did a bit of searching, seems like this is available on the android app but I haven't figured it out on ios. it's probably a simple solution ...
  17. Hope to be able to create & edit table in iPad or even iPhone like what I can do in Mac.
  18. Hello, we released Evernote version 8.19 update to the App Store today. As always, any feedback is welcome! Thanks Fixed: - Fix for app crash when switching between multiple accounts - Fix for app crash when searching through shared notebooks
  19. Last night I noticed that the number of notes I have across different devices do not match. I don't have any local notebooks, all synced across all devices. My work iPhone showed 10,918 notes while my personal iPhone showed the correct number of notes at 11,044. My iMac Evernote app showed 10,979 while online Evernote showed the correct 11,044 notes which is also correct on my work PC and my home PC. I sometimes notice a note missing from one device, but I wasn't aware of this kind of discrepancy especially on my iMac and work iPhone. Screenshots are taken after a sync to make sure everything was up to date. Any ideas?
  20. Hello! I can't segregate my notebooks and put them in good order. When I long press o the name of a notebook and drag them to another place, it's keep coming back...
  21. Hi all, we released our 8.18 update to the App Store last week. Thanks in advance for any feedback! Improved: Tired of waiting to load and search your offline notebooks? We hear you. That’ll all happen much quicker now. Dark Mode is seriously awesome, and it’s getting better every day. For example, your handwritten notes might have been a little hard to see, but not anymore. Fixed: You might have been asked to sign into your Apple ID whenever you launched Evernote. We’ll admit that was a bit of an overreaction. Sometimes there was a screen glitch when you reopened the app. So we just went ahead and fixed the glitch. Problem’s solved from your end. Occasionally, some of the formatting icons would just up and disappear while you were editing. Which was not helpful in the slightest. Are you someone who creates huge offline notebooks? Worried about them not downloading fast enough? Well it won’t be a problem now.
  22. MacStories shared a load of iOS shortcuts including some with an Evernote focus https://www.macstories.net/shortcuts/#evernote
  23. Addresses open in Apple Maps. Hyperlinking to a Google Maps URL opens in Safari. Could we get a way to choose which Maps app we want to use?
  24. How do I add Evernote app as a complication for an Apple Watch Face? I have Evernote installed on the watch and iPhone and they work together. But I want to make Evernote more quickly accessible on the watch by adding it to a Watch Face as a complication.
  25. Recently I have had the need to flip back and forth between 2 different notes at the same to pull some information from another note. Am I missing something and is there any way to view two notes from 2 different note books at the same time? If not this would be a great feature to have.
