  1. Hey guys, so recently I started to use your teamplates. I found the Eisenhower Matrix and I really like the template. What bothers me is the unused space on the ipad. While I'm in widescreen and maximize on a single note, the used space for the note stays the same. Now there is a lot of unused space on the left and right. While using some tables this makes it even worse, because there is no fixed width so on every system (PC, iPhone, ipad), which is completely okay. But I would like to have the possibility to change the used space at least in widescreen so the whole table could fit in one possible note on the ipad.
  2. Hi there, Just got myself an iPad (6th generation) and an Apple Pencil. I love using both with Evernote. I've had Evernote crash like 2 times nog in 2 weeks (not a lot since I use the app everyday, the whole day at my job). If only the app could autosave my drawings while the drawing is still open. Because I lose a lot of my sketches when the app does eventually crash, which is a bummer. Thanks for reading and keep up the good work! Kind regards, Brad
  3. In the newest update I cannot highlight clips as I used to be able to do. I went into settings but did not find anything there. Any suggestions? Thanks, David
  4. I find it very frustrating that I cant edit my attached office files, e.g. Excel-files, without having to make a copy and add it in the note. It would be so nice to be able to the open the attached file in Excel, make the changes and then the attached file is updated in Evernote. This works in OneNote that I use at work and I find this very useful. I know Evernote isnt a file manager but I do belive it makes sense to keep some files there and it also makes sense to be able to edit them in an efficient way.
  5. Please watch the enclosed video. When I open the Evernote iOS app, do you see how late the app opens? After the last few updates, Evernote iOS has started to work seriously slowly. The Program is opening late and there is a problem with the notes. Video.MOV
  6. I am running latest iOS level on iPhone and iPads and latest level of Evernote. This does not work repeatedly. I tried to paste the content (I copied in Safari) in Apple Notes which worked fine. Then I copied the text in Apple Notes and could paste it well in Evernote. Any idea?
  7. My son sent me a list of receipts via Work Chat from his EN account. Normally I copy that to my personal notebook in the desktop. I couldn't do that on iOS though. I changed the folder I saw in Work Chat for the note to my @INBOX notebook and it moved the note, even though at the bottom of the page there was a green bar saying I only had VIEW access to the note. After it moved, EN crashed (I sent a report) but when I restarted it, clicking on the note again in Work Chat only says "Can't Open Note - either you need permission to access or it was moved." And it was moved. It is in my @inbox. That seems to be a pretty big issue that you can share notes and via IOS, a read-only person remove your note from your account. I don't know if it is only a glitch through Work Chat or if any shared notebooks would allow this.
  8. I admit the title to this topic is a little tongue and cheek, since I have been using the PDF Expert iOS app for a good long time. I really appreciate its usefulness for my needs. However, it cannot sync my PDFs to Evernote, and I find it too cumbersome for me to use two separate programs/sync services for one PDF. So, to see Skitch come with the ability to annotate PDFs AND take care of the Evernote syncing for me, I was thrilled. Unfortunately, it has not lived up to the level of PDF Expert as of yet, but it sure seems to have the potential to. A little background on my situation: I live in the academic environment, and so I find myself having to interact with PDF copies of various scholarly journal articles, theses, dissertations, etc. Such sources require a "power user" type program, as I am constantly making notes to myself and highlighting significant information for research purposes. In a lot of ways, PDFs are my books, and I think maybe that is why PDF Expert has been so captivating; it has been able to take the PDF concept and turn it into book form. If Skitch could tap into that same magic, I'd be willing to pay double for my Evernote Premium account (but don't get any ideas! ). Here are a few areas where I think Skitch could improve on PDF annotation. My apologies if these have already been said elsewhere in the forums: 1. Selecting text. This is REALLY important for me because it makes the highlighting process a snap. Literally, I tap and hold, the text is selected, and I can move my finger directly to the last word of the sentence or paragraph without having to drag across every single line. Not to mention, it makes for much fewer mistakes. It also allows me to copy and paste text should I ever need to. Currently, I am not using the highlighting feature at all because this feature is missing. I am too perfectionist to want to do it in the current form, because the highlighting just looks really crooked. Using lines/underlining is an ok workaround, but even with that I must drag my finger (or stilus) accross the tablet for every line, and that gets really tiring on my hands after a while. I could do without any of the other suggestions below if I just had this one. 2. More intuitive selection of tools. Kind of related to the above, it is quite difficult to get used to the maneuvering that has to be done to work about the app's tools. I can never remember to go back to the top tool (the four arrows?) to move the PDF down after using another in the arsenal. If maybe you could maneuver them into the text selection, this would be a huge improvement. Select the text, and then, as with the copy and paste commands in other programs, there are "highlight," "underline," etc. at the top. Maybe you could leave the more advanced stuff for the sidebar, like the shapes, arrow and text box. These basic ones though are actually more of a hassle in their present form. 3. Better text box. The text box in its present form is abysmal, in my humble opinion. There are situations where I find myself having to write a substantial amount of text on a given PDF, and presently I'm having to type it out as best I can and then drag and resize and hope that all of it will fit on the page. All because the text does not wrap. One workaround I have found is to hit "return"/"enter" once the text gets to the end of the page, but a needless hassle. We ditched the typewriter a long time ago. 4. Ability to edit note details either in Evernote or Skitch. Setting the author is extremely important for my PDFs. Presently, I'm seeing no way to do that, however. The tags are good, at least. But they're not enough. 5. That "cancel" button has got to go. There have been a few times where I will get quite far into a PDF, do something by mistake, and accidentally hit the cancel button instead of undo, completely eliminating all my work. The button really needs to be eliminated, moved, or at least given some sort of feature to prevent something like that from happening (dare I say an "are you sure" dialogue box?). I think I've seen other programs that have a drop down menu upon hitting the button that will have a red "discard"/"delete" button and maybe a "cancel" (as in cancel the cancel!). I don't know. Something at least to make discarding my work not so easy. 6. Return to PDF at the place I left off. I was surprised at how much I missed this feature. Some PDFs I read can be 100s of pages, so having to find my place again is a chore. One workaround I've been using is scrolling down to the last page I have annotated, but even that requires a bit of scrolling for the really big PDFs. Other, "wish list features" (not necessary, but sure would be nice!): Ability to annotate the source PDF without having to create a new, seperate "skitch" version. Ability to save the annotated PDF in whatever location I want (though the ability to annotate the source PDF would really take care of this). Ability to save annotations in the PDF without closing. PDF editing on other devices, desktop versions especially.
  9. When creating a sketch in Evernote for iOS, one can choose only from 10 colours, and they are ... uhm... unsubtle. Could you please please implement a colour-picker in that panel? A lot of other note-taking apps do. They even allow one to save a new colour to the swatches.
  10. I think we should be able to change text font in iOS as we do in Mac. I don't really like the current one.
  11. When I use the web clip feature in safari on my iPad the results on evernote is a skinny column of text from the page. I have tried a couple of different web sites with the same results. Attached is a recipe example . Any clues? Thanks
  12. I used to be a premium member but because of a few issues I completely stopped using it ... but I didn't remember to end my premium membership in time so my family have been using shared notebooks to store data in it. However, now my premium subscription has ended and we need to decide if we should continue paying for premium. So I took a look and many things have changed since I last used it ... mostly improvements from what I can see. However, I wonder about one thing, I can't figure out a way to easily share text from a note to another app. Let's say I want to share the text from one note to DayOne, how can I do that? (I don't want a link to evernote I want the actual plain text)
  13. Please can you make it so that when a hand written box (or symbol) is recognized as a "Todo" so that one can search for all todos. Or maybe a button that allows you to tag a location as a "Task". I love using the Apple Pencil to take notes, but hate that I need to then hunt for todos and even that I need to retype them into my todo program. Ideally I could make an Apple Reminder or Trello card from these items. In addition, some other programs allow for hand-writing to be auto converted into Typed text. Is this something Penultimate could do as well? Thank you! Troy
  14. Hi. Here are some bugs and suggestions. 1) Note links and lists When a note link is in a list and you return at the end of the line to create the next item in the list, it drags along the link and everything afterwards ends up getting linked. Please stop the linking at the end of the note link itself. Thanks. 2) iPad Pro On the iPad Pro, the tab key on the keyboard does not work for indenting lists. Please enable this function. Otherwise, the (generously priced) keyboard is kind of useless, isn’t it. Thanks!
  15. Hello i am an avid user of evernote the last 6 years. I am a doctor and i have created a huge database of notes that i am constantly reffering to. What i do is when i find a nice article i copy paste it to evernote and then highligjt the parts i find more interesting and tag it. Is it possible to highlight the parts i like or write some little interesting things above the already written using the apple pencil??? That would be a hyge convenience!! I have tried doing so in apple stores and not succeded
  16. Hello, I created a note on the Mac version of Evernote and when I tried to open it up on the iphone version only the title displays and contents of the note are blank. Also, the app freezes at this point and I either need to force close it or it crashes on its own. I'm not sure what to do. I've not had this issue before. The note on the Mac contains a lot of formatting--horizontal lines and bullets--but this shouldn't be a limiting problem. Any help or insight would be appreciated. Is it recommended to post the activity log here? I'm a Free Account user, by the way, so I can't get email help.
  17. Hi all, we just released Evernote 8.10 to the App Store! Download link here. Release Notes: New: Now you can see the word count and size of your note by tapping the (i) at the top right of your note. Writers rejoice! Lots of updates to the 'Manage Tags' (Account > Settings) section! It now includes total tag count, number of notes associated with tags, and the ability to rename tags. Fixed: Simplify formatting is once again removing font, color, and size formats. Web clips will now always appear in a note when viewed—as you’d expect. We’ve addressed the top issues causing the app to crash. Fixes an issue where the widget wouldn't load recent notes Thanks!
  18. hello, maybe this is redundant but I really feel that Evernote needs these features otherwise, after 5 years, I'll really start to look for an alternative (and probably many others with me). I don't say this as a threat but just to underline that competition is a step head. I really don't want to leave Evernote but Pros are diminishing so I'm beginning to feel that I need to overcome my laziness and find an alternative. Evernote is my "moleskine" and I record and store all my meetings, presentations and documents. I usually do it with an iPad Pro (keyboard or pencil) and sometimes with a macbook. The features that I would like to have are: ppt annotation - it's a bit unfriendly to convert all files to pdf just because Evernote does not support them Notes annotation - it's really frustrating to be able to annotate files only. OneNote has this capability and in works really well. I would really like to use Evernote like a piece of paper without restrictions. Nice-to-have: Outlook calendar integration - in my meeting minutes I also record attendees. Would be good to import them when I want to fill this automatically I've also other requests but these (especially the first two) are the minimum requirement to continue to use Evernote in the future. Thank you!
  19. I just opened one of my notes on my iPhone, and was trying to copy the note (so I could paste it in a phone IM), but as I was selecting the handles to drag over the text, the Copy/Paste bar popped up and I hit paste inadvertently, and ruined a long text that I really needed to keep. Is there nay way to get my original text back, or to force a revert to the note before these changes took effect? I couldn't find how to 'Undo" changes on the iPhone before it synced with the Evernote server.
  20. On login a page “devices” appears. Whatever link I follow it always reappears, making it impossible to reach notes. Support no use - also loops back. Giving up. Not worth using.
  21. In macOS app title is always visible when you scroll through a note which is a great feature especially when you need to change a title based on the note contents. On iOS it is not and the title is not visible when you scroll down even if it’s in focus and you can still type in it invisibly. Very inconvenient.
  22. The iPhone app doesn’t allow me to open a ticket and I can’t open one on the web site. When I try the web site it gives me the option to submit an activity log, but when I click that it gives me instruction on how to obtain the activity log, but not submit it or open a ticket. I can’t open an important file that I have shared with a colleague. Help meeeed!
  23. I’m an avid note taker and Evernote’s persistent inability to not include indent/outdent as a top level item is infuriating. As others have mentioned previously (and over a year ago on these very same forums), I live in bulleted lists and constantly need to indent/outdent. Why hasn’t this been resolved yet? It’s a major usability issue and I can’t imagine it would be a difficult feature to re-introduce. Please make it happen ASAP! Not having this as a top level feature on a top level menu on iOS is pushing me to pursue using other note taking platforms. That makes me sad but ultimately it all comes down to product functionality
  24. I would very much appreciate a word count when using Evernote on my iOS devices, please. Really, I would like that. Makes it quite difficult if you're writing for a purpose to not have a word count on the iOS versions. Is this being considered? If not why not?
  25. A bug has been driving me close to mad over the last year (enough to finally file a bug report). I use Penultimate on a 12" iPad Pro and I'm mentioning this because I'm guessing its resolution has something to do with this. Let's say I'm on some page working normally. I then go to the home screen/switch to another app/whatever puts the app in the background. When I return I won't be on the same page anymore (often many pages off), and the location will be 'offset' to a place between pages even. I don't remember this happening from the very start, but with large notebooks (I'm on 50 pages with some) it happens every time.
