  1. For me, the best way to selectively send email messages from Gmail into Evernote is by using Harry's script: http://www.harryonline.net/evernote/send-google-mail-to-evernote/226 Basically you use Gmail labels to choose which Evernote notebook will receive the message and to add your own Evernote tags. However, I needed a bit more, so I changed his script so that: 1) I can set a custom EN reminder based on Gmail labels 2) I can have certain EN tags automatically add a reminder (example: if the EN note gets the tag "important", then it will get a reminder for "tomorrow". To do that, simply set the user property "tag2reminder" to "important=tomorrow" ) 3) I can have one Gmail filter that will create a notebook with multiple tags in it and an optional reminder. So there's no need to create one Gmail filter for each EN tag you want, as is usually the case. Here's my setup: Create these 'root' labels on your Gmail account (you can change their names if needed): [Evernote Notebooks] [Evernote Reminders] [Evernote Tags] Then, create as many sub-labels as you want inside those root labels: [Evernote Notebooks] Main Travel Bills (and so on...) [Evernote Reminders] 1week today tomorrow [Evernote Tags] !!Today !Next development personal per-hobby per-photo finance fin-bill fin-invoice location loc-san-francisco loc-ny loc-australia Now for applying multiple EN tags, create something like this: [Evernote Tags] fin-invoice+loc-australia And if you want to add a reminder at the same time:[Evernote Tags] fin-invoice+loc-australia+important And here's my modified script: https://script.google.com/d/1rsv8tjfpDn_wwxTmgz9fy3PupQIGrS6bd8EUfCeEwPzCsL7E0L-JA15I/edit?usp=sharing Hope that helps!
  2. I am (me) an Evernote user and me and my team use Asana for task management. I have team buy-in to Asana so I don't want to change. I would like to find a good Evernote to Asana integration, but I have found the two most popular--Cloudwork and Zapier--wanting. I can't get either to transfer attachments, and Cloudwork garbles text with comic strip vulgarity--many characters, "&" mostly, that I would rather not edit out. Zapier only gives me headers. I could have done the same thing and added attachments from Dropbox myself. I could also share via email and then forward to x@mail.asana.com but the back and forth is wasted time. It does, however provide the best quality. The reason Asana and Evernote don't play nice is shared Evernote notes come from no-reply@evernote.com. Standard email forwarding doesn't work because the originating email is still no-reply@evernote.com, not me@myemail blah-blah. The email appears to come from A (Evernote) to C (Asana), not from A to B (email client), then B to C. Lots of words to finally arrive at a question: Is there an email service that will receive no-reply@@evernote.com to blah, then forward from blah, to x@mail.asana.com? That way sharing a note from that email provider would generate a task in Asana. Thanks in advance
  3. Hi Everyone, I would like to introduce Sentinote (http://sentinote.com) + an offer. Sentinote is a premium WordPress plugin that makes it easy to manage your WordPress site/blog using notes in Evernote. Focus on your content, not on how you're going to publish it on your website. Sentinote uses the Evernote-API to search for and retrieve notes by Notebook and tag and then convert these notes into WordPress Posts or Pages (depending on the note tags). Like some of the other hosted solutions out there the 'published' tag is the minimum required to get you started. Markdown is one of my personal favourite (and most requested) features that I am happy to say is now included in Sentinote 1.1.3. Here is a rundown of the tags supported: published -- Lets Sentinote know to take this note and process it for WordPress. Default post type is standard blog post. All notes to appear in WordPress MUST be tagged with ‘published’page -- Changes the note’s post format from standard blog post to standard WordPress page.draft -- Changes the note’s status to draft. This post will not be visible to site visitors.nolink -- Don’t create a menu item for this page in the special ‘Sentinote’ menu.close -- Close all comments and ping backs. This overrides the WordPress settings for comments.open -- Open comments only for this post. Overrides WordPress settings for comments.pingopen -- Open ping backs only for this post. Overrides WordPress settings for comments.md -- Apply Markdown/Markdown Extra to this note (Even if the Markdown setting was not ticked for all notes).nomd -- Disables Markdown/Markdown Extra for this note (Even if the Markdown setting was ticked for all notes).{#} (# as page id) -- Assigns the post as a child of another post (the parent) identified by the post ID. Handy for page hierarchies.{format} -- Formats available: {standard}, {aside}, {gallery}, {link}, {status}, {image}, {quote}, {video}, {audio} or {chat}. This changes the post’s format to the desired format. Feature images are also supported and automatically added as thumbnails by surrounding an image in your note with [featured] and [/featured]. The plugin is designed to work with hosted WordPress websites, not Wordpress.com accounts. It is an extensible plugin full of action and filter hooks to allow for easy future additions and 3rd party plugin integration. It is a premium plugin and I'm confident that you will love it. I am happy to grant a full refund on your purchase amount if you've activated your site with Sentinote and not entirely happy with it for up to 60 days after your purchase date. To help you even further I'm offering forum users a 15% for February using the discount code 'EVERFORUM0214' at checkout. Seeing that Feb only has 28 days this discount will be limited to 28 uses and one per person. If you have any other questions please let me know. I'm happy for you to contact me via forum messages, the Sentinote website, Facebook or Twitter. Important note: Because of the Evernote API and Markdown libraries using PHP namespaces, Sentinote will only work for sites running PHP 5.3. Most shared hosts have this running on their servers, but not necessarily activated for all accounts. Please look at the Sentinote documentation for more on this. In most cases it is a matter of adding a single line of code to your .htaccess file or a quick support ticket to your host. Also, if you use Sentinote and have feature requests or bugs to report please use the contact form on the Sentinote website. Fixing critical bugs is my highest priority as I myself use Sentinote now on half a dozen sites - if you're not happy with a bug, chances I won't be happy either and I will work hard to get it remedied. Thanks for your interest, Rheinard Korf http://sentinote.com
  4. Lately I've been using Asana a lot for starting a new business. What I love about Asana is it's ability to collaborate on files by attaching them to the task. Already Asana integrates with Google Drive and Dropbox. What would be absolutely awesome is if there was the option to attach notes from Evernote. I know that if you paste a note link into Asana (either http:// or evernote:///) it will be clickable, but that just isn't as clean a solution as what it could be I think. If anyone is looking for a little project to work on, this would be a life-saver for me and likely many others.
  5. Hi! I'm a newbie here so I hope this is the right place to put this discussion. I caught the Rizzoma wave back in May 2013 and just now going through my notes. fact of the matter, Evernote became more practical for me in the summer as I went through all my belongings and completed the bulk of my digitization process. I haven't looked back since and just love Evernote. I now make Evernote my primary capture tool - it is great having *one* place to put everything (I don't think i need to preach this here) and have an API to access and project the data in all kinds of ways ( props up to all your Evernote developers!) has anyone else in this community experimented with Rizzoma with experiences to share? We're talking more than just "sign up" and play with it every so often - I'm looking to exchange ideas with people who have gotten to the point of "Rizzoma is it!" - attempted to make Rizzoma the center of their universe and then found themselves falling back to Evernote. I've love to hear what some of those reasons were and ideas you might have in regards to pulling the 2 universes together (assuming you see benefits of both platforms) long live Evernote!
  6. Hey Evernotians! You simply must build an integration tool for Finish or some other form of similar reminder tool. it needs to be pretty flexible to set up so whatever form of daily/weekly/lifely reminder set up a give Evernote user has in place can be connected to the reminder system easily. Finish is huge and you incredible people can distill that approach to reminder management into some kind of tasty green interface that will, again, instill great loyalty, love and enthusiastic proselytization for your products and services. PLEASE, I don't need to integrate another tool into my external brain! I want you to do it! I will give you money! Mike connector of dots
  7. Hi, I've seen that this has been already requested several times, but it seems that there is still an answer missing from the Evernote team. When will it be possible to create hand-written notes directly in Evernote? I'm a bit bothered to manually sync my notes from Noteshelf or Penultimate manually into Evernote. It would be a huge benefit if we could eventually created, edit, annotate hand-written notes in Evernote. So please integrate this. Or at least tell me your plan regarding handwritten notes! Many thanks, Andreas
  8. Hello I hope this is the right category for my question. I am a teacher and until now I still use my paper based teachers calendar. I think it is cool to take a picture of something handwritten to upload it to Evernote. But I am not sure if there is a possibility, to edit a handwritten note in the same way. For example I have a page with a table of notes, my students got within the last month. I take a picture and Evernote recognizes this table and integrates it with the already existing table which I uploaded a month ago, or which I created using Excel. Is this possible with my smartphone camera? Or maybe with the livescribe Smartpen? This device should recognize the paper as the same one I wrote on before...!? thank you :-)
  9. I love evernote but I would really love the ability to tag and reorganize stuff right in my gmail window while doing triage on my inbox. Is there a plugin or gadget out there that does this?
  10. On viewing Salesforce pages the web clipper fails to capture/send the complete page to Evernote. Examining the note in Evernote it drops off the portion below the screen you would have to scroll down to see. As a test Web Clipper had no problem sending the full page off drudgereport.com. Is there a setting to resolve this?
  11. I would like to be able to mark / copy text and be able to share the marked quote to Evernote. Is there any possibility of being able to do this in future updates? Thanks all!
