  1. Hi there, Does anyone know how to import a springpad .zip file to evernote? I was seeking for a proper home for my springpad files and tried almost every new betas out there plus OneNote...but completely forgot about Evernote. Please don't ask why...I'm already kicking myself for this sheer stupidity. I only have the zipped file, no .enex. Files inside contain the html file and a .json. Can't seem to ask support as I'm not a premium user, so I was wondering if anyone here can help? Thanks, folks.
  2. I have set up a folder to import into Evernote. The folder contains text files. I made a change to one of the text files and Evernote imported it as a new note. Is there any way around this? Thanks! Bruce
  3. I would like to save some PDF document files as EN notes, or in certain cases copy some of their content into EN notes, on a Mac (using EN non-Premium). Some of these are forms (filled-in) that don't lend themselves to copy-&-paste. In those cases I can't think of any other way than a 'file import' to get them into EN notes. What are my best options? Thanks.
  4. I want to import a massive number of PDF files into Evernote, preferably using an import folder. However, I want the note created date to match the file date. Otherwise, receipts and documents I scanned a long time ago will appear in lists before more current ones. Is there any way to do this?
  5. While using Evernote with Android- how do you use your camera to take a picture of a file and save it as a pdf?
  6. I've got a single text file and want to create a note with each line in the text file being used as the note's title. How can I do this on OS X?
  7. Hi Everyone - so, I'm looking archive all of my old posts on my site into my Evernote notebook. The purpose obviously is to have an archive I can readily search. I read through the posts in the Forum and came across SiteSucker.com. It's a useful app in that I now have an HTML version of ever post since 2009. The challenge now is how do I replicate this but only send the text and not the HTML file as an attachment? I appreciate the tips, suggestions, etc. Thanks!
  8. Thanks to Evernote for Windows having the Desktop folder default to sync, my monthly quota was used up in minutes because I copied some large files to the desktop, not knowing that it would automatically sync to Evernote. What a terrible decision to have a default sync folder set. There should be NO sync folder set on install. If it was something that was selected during the installation, I certainly don't remember and it must not have been clear what the implications of it were. So thank you Evernote. I can no longer sync for the rest of the month (20 days) because of this dumb design decision.
  9. EN seemed to be taking longer than it should upon exit so I took a look at the activity log. I found 92 lines like this one on the log. 10:22:39 [7928] 37% Skipping resource "57c2a1e529be6f79b6688ddfab3d9310" of an unsynced note "Financials P6" All 92 of the notes were a subset of notes that I moved to a local notebook from a synced notebook back in in early August (3,000 plus notes were moved). I’ve checked the web and these notes are not on the server any more. They do exist in the local notebook, as one would expect, but not clear as to why the above “unsynced” message. To see if there was an issue locally, I exported the local notebook to an ENEX file, 5600 notes, 6 GB, and then deleted it. After a sync the above message still exists, and the note doesn't appear to exist anywhere. Corrupted on the server somewhere? Now the root of the issue, I cannot import the ENEX that I just created. I have tried 12 times and it has failed with either a memory error, a commit error, or just flat died with the Fatal Error splash box. Between each occurrence I deleted the partial Import folder and started over. It has stopped on four different note counts. I am all backed up and am doing Fix All Notes from the Ctrl help menu to see if that will help. I have submitted a support ticket, but am at a loss as to why a recently exported ENEX file will not import. Anyone ever seen anything like this?
  10. Hi there - I'm trying to move over to Evernote from SOHO Notes Mac and having a bit of a problem. I can easily export all my SOHO notes as individual RTF notes. These notes all look fine in any normal text application (TextEdit, Textwrangler, Mac finder, etc...). I should be able to just drag these notes onto the Evernote icon in the dock and have them import; most of them do, but some don't; they just come in as blank notes labeled "untitled clipped note". I can see no difference between the ones that work and the ones that don't, but it makes it impossible for me to reliably move all of my notes (maybe 400) over to Evernote. Any thoughts about why this is happening, and what I can do about it? Thanks! Rich B 2013 Macbook Air Mac OSX Mavericks 10.9.3
  11. I recently purchased a Doxie Go scanner in order to go paperless. I LOVE the combination of Doxie and Evernote, with the exception of one huge annoyance -- every time Doxie sends a scan to Evernote, Evernote jumps to the foreground, taking control of my Mac. Since I tend to scan many documents at a time to the Doxie app which sends them to Evernote one at a time, this grows incredibly annoying. Every 5 - 10 seconds, Evernote jumps to the foreground and interrupts my workflow. I imagine I can't be the only one with this issue -- any suggestions on how to resolve it? Thanks!
  12. I took a note last night on my android device with 2 images in it. I noticed this morning that it didn't sync to web. Synch button on phone didn't do anything, so I tried logging out. It informed me that the unsaved note will be saved to /sdcard/evernote/unsaved_notes When I logged back in, the Evernote app doesn't recognize that note at all. The enml & 2 dat files do still exist in that directory, but I can't identify how to import them into my account. Anyone know how I can do this? I've searched far and wide, but keep coming up short.
  13. Hi, I am totally, brand new to AppleScript. I have a bunch of school files that I need to upload to Evernote so I can search and find them easier. I have been googling ways to create a 'watched' folder to automatically detect and upload to Evernote. I have tried a couple AppleScript services that I found on some old blog posts but I haven't been able to get any of them to work. I am hoping that someone can share one that is definitely working, along with instructions on how to attach it to the Folder Actions Setup. I'm using Mac OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 I would appreciate any help! S.
  14. Import CSV into Evernote as Separate Notes (Text Lists, Too!) I have seen a number of requests asking how to import CSV files into Evernote. Here is a solution provided by a great web site, Veritrope.com http://veritrope.com/code/evernote-csv-and-text-file-importer/
  15. Hi all - As my contact list grows, it's beginning to get overwhelming. 500+ contacts in my iCloud list just isn't necessary, considering I don't contact most of them (rarely if ever). Therefore, I want to import some (not all) of my contacts into an Evernote notebook. That way they don't clutter my contact list, but are still accessible should I need them. I have a few questions to go along with this: 1. Is this a good idea? Do you see any problems arising in the future? 2. What tool can I use to accomplish this? Ideally I'd like each contact in it's own note (so they are easily searchable) with standardized formatting to allow for easy export / transfer in the future. I currently use Evernote for Mac and iPhone, but I'm happy to look at other options if necessary to complete this. Perhaps Evernote Hello is needed? Thanks for your help, everyone!
  16. I've been using evernote and springpad both for over a few months now and have made my choice, evernote it is. But not i'm confronted with a rather large amount of data in springpad that i'd like to migrate to Evernote. Anyone has an idea how to do this? I'm able to export a backup of my whole springpad account but as far as i can tell there is only an option to import from Google Notes into evernote. any help, tips, advice is greatly appreciated!
  17. anybody know of a way to import into evernote the account export from clipboard.com when they shutdown? i had a fairly large set of stuff on clipboard.com, and when they shutdown they gave us a way to export all our stuff into a zip file. yes, that zip file is unzippable and i can browse thru my stuff via the html pages etc in it. but am hoping there's a way/utility/app/workaround of getting it all imported into evernote. thoughts? thanks! peace.
  18. Is there a way to import Excel and Word 2010 documents from my home computer to Evernote? I know I can copy/paste, but what if the file is rather large? Mike
  19. Good morning, I am trying to make the switch from Springpad to Evernote and am having issues importing my notes from there to here. I have done a good amount of searching online, and am aware this comes up regularly, but can't find anything either recent or that works. (With so many changes to each program, any workaround seems to inevitably become obsolete, fairly quickly.) I am pretty computer literate and proficient, but I am no coder. I was hoping someone might be able to suggest something I could try. I am working off of a Mac and use Chrome. I have exported the .zip from Springpad, extracted the folder, yet when I try and import anything into Evernote, I can't chose any folder or file. Any help, suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
  20. Hello, I am trying to import bookmarks into evernote and I get this 'MISSING_NOTE_TITLE' error with no information as to what the problem is. Can you please let me know how to resolve this issue. I can send the whole file to you. I am using Evernote on Windows
  21. As a new user with a large amount of existing notes and documents that I like to get into Evernote, well...yesterday, I am wondering if there is a way to get an "initial data load" waiver for a price from Evernote? I'm importing documents a few at a time, but my email imports lend themselves to being done in bulk, hundreds at a time. I added and run a rule to my Mac OS X mail program to forward and delete email receipts for things i've ordered online over the years. It hit my email forwarding limit in almost no time at all. Where I work, when a new data processing job is added, there is a usually a special "initial data load" event where data send to use from the previous data processor is loaded into our system. Since it's so much larger and normal data processing loads, special precautions are taken to make sure that it goes smoothly as the storage, time, memory ,and CPU loads are way above the norm. If nothing else, it would be great for new users if you could purchase a one-time use bulk data load waiver to get started with Evernote. As it is, I'll have write up complicate rules to divide imports into small chunks, and safeguard againt emails being deleted before I can confirm that they were imported into Evernote.
  22. Helo everyone, I was wondering if and how would one automate the process of importing certain emails from Apple Mail into Evernote. My idea is to import, for example, all Apple Store receipts as individual notes into Evernote, but I wasn't able to figure out a way to do it. I mean, not the ones I already have in my inbox, but the ones to come. Some sort of automation to do this. Maybe it's right in front of my eyes and i just can't see it. I thought I could do it with IFTTT, but no. Then I went into Automator, but wasn't able to figure out if this was doable. I mean, I can just manually drag every new receipt from Mail into Evernote, but if this were to happen automatically, it would be awesome. I figure this must involve some sort of filtering or something like that, but I just can't think of a way. Maybe someone already cracked this one and has a system that does this. Would you mind sharing it? Thank you so much. Rui
  23. I've an enormous old text database I'd like to import into Evernote This database is one large text file with a ~ delimiter separating each entry Is there any way to import it?? It'd take me years to copy & paste each entry one at a time! Really hope someone out there has a solution - thanks in advance
  24. Hi all, I use Papers (i.e., the app Papers2 by Mekentosj) for reading, annotating, and making notes on papers. I use EverNote to organize all notes from papers and other sources. One key functionality that I am missing (or do not know how to do it) is how to get notes from Papers into EverNote. I have tried the File>Export>Notes function in Papers. However, all the export formats merge the different notes into a single note. If I drop the export file into EverNote, my 50 (or whatever) number of notes has become just one big note in EverNote. I cannot use it like this because the different notes present different thoughts that I would like to use in different contexts. How can I make it that my 50 notes from Papers remain 50 notes in EverNote? (without copying one by one, of course) Greatly appreciate your ideas / support! Daniel
  25. My mac did not boot up and hence I had to re image it. I was able to copy all the data of the local notebooks from com.evernote.Evernote. How do I import all these notes back in to Evernote again? I tried the import notes option but it does not let me import from this folder. Any ideas ?
