  1. I have Windows 7 - 64 bit version on my laptop. I see that Web Clipper won't work on IE 64-bit but I can't get IE 32-bit to install. Any idea when Evernote will support 64-bit IE? Can I install IE 32-bit on Win7 64-bit machine? Thanks!
  2. Hi, I am a begining user of EverNote & Ever Web Clipper(Mobile version). When you are clipping a certain webpage by Ever Web Clipper(mobile version) during websurfing outside with distance from office area.(ex. train, street, mountain), Eve Web Clipper(mobile ver)suggests 3 different clipping modes. 1. Simply 2. Styled (this is a same web style what we want ) 3. Only URL Problem is when I choose No.2 mode when mobile clipping. The result of display is not quite good as I expected when I'm back home. The clipped web contents what we see in DESKTOP PC has quite narrow paragraph width and the the width of the paragrph is only suitable size for mobile not for desktop size. I expected flexible mobile clipping result in terms of paragraph fitting size which looks convinient both in mobile and desktop. But it's not. Do you have any solution for this? ( PLS don't tell me choose No.1 as a solution. The result of No.1 looks somewhat out of date style )
  3. I'm running v4.6.3.8096 on Windows and can no longer clip web pages using IE 9.0.8. Has anyone encountered this? Any suggestions to make it work again is much appreciated.
  4. Just updated to a premium account. In the process I somehow lost my ability to clip web pages. When I right click evernote no longer shows up as an option. Any help would be appreciated.
  5. We are seeing "Permission denied" errors in IE when we have the Evernote Add-on installed and we open new windows, tabs and fancybox popups to every site/page we've tried. The problem appears to be in the Evernote Add-On itself. This simple page will demonstrate the problem: <html><body><a href="http://www.apple.com" target="_blank">click here</a></body></html>You will need to load the above page from a webserver as the problem does not appear to happen from html pages when they are opened directly with file URLs. I also think that you will need an IP or domain other then http://localhost/, as I was not able to reproduce it until I used http://127.0.0.1/. I have tried multiple URLs in the <a> tag, as well as the page itself. The contents or destination does not appear to have any affect on the problem. Once you click on the button, IE complains with a "Permission denied" error. And if you have debugging enabled and choose to debug the script, it loads the following page and targets the first code line as generating the error: /** * Represents page context (have permissions to access and modify DOM objects) */ PageContext = { url: (location && location.href) ? location.href : document.location.href, title: document.title, META: "evernote-webclipper-extension", getFavIconUrl : function() { var links = document.getElementsByTagName("link"); var i; for (i = 0; i < links.length; i++) { if (links[i].rel) { var rels = links[i].rel.toLowerCase().split(/\s+/); if (Evernote.ArrayExtension.indexOf(rels, "icon") !== -1) { // Found it! return links[i].href; } } } //Try to get it from google web site var re = new RegExp( "^[^:]+:\/+([^\/" + ":" + "]+).*$" ); var domain = PageContext.url.replace( re, "$1" ); return "http://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain=" + domain.toLowerCase(); }, injectAdditionalTags : function() { var url = document.location.href; if ( url.match( /^https?:\/\/[a-z0-9-+\.]*(evernote|yinxiang)\.com\//i ) ) { try { var metas = document.getElementsByTagName( "meta" ); for ( var i = 0; i < metas.length; ++i ) { if ( metas[i].name == PageContext.META ) { return; } } var meta = document.createElement( "meta" ); meta.name = PageContext.META; meta.content = "installed"; var head = document.head; if ( head ) { head.appendChild( meta ); } if ( document.body ) { document.body.className += ((document.body.className) ? " " : "") + PageContext.META; } } catch ( e ) { alert( "PageContext.injectAdditionalTags() failed: " + e ); throw e; } } } };if((document.readyState == "complete" || document.readyState == "interactive") && !window.PageContext) { PageContext.injectAdditionalTags();} If you disable the Evernote Extension, this problem does not occur. Given that I can't reproduce the problem without using an IP or domain in the URL, I would guess that it is a security setting/feature. I use the default security settings, straight out of the box. I have only enabled display of all JavaScript errors and enabled script debugging - both which are off by default. I have version 4.6.2.7927 of the Evernote Extension installed. Our team has noticed this with several versions of IE including IE8, IE9 and IE10. We have also observed this problem on 32-bit and 64-bit versions of IE. All OS versions were Windows 7 with a mix of 32-bit and 64-bit editions. Is this a known issue? Is there an estimated date when a fix will be released?
  6. I've just got a new Windows 8 laptop with Evernote pre-installed. I'm wondering how to use web clipper on IE 10. Right-clicking doesn't work, because right-clicking in IE10 brings up the address bar, not a menu.
  7. Evernote Clipper no longer works for IE. The only thing saved to Evernote is the URL - saved in the body of the note, not in the URL area. The text from the web page is not copied to the note body. Tech support has been useless. Has anyone here had this problem? Did you get it fixed?
  8. UPDATE: Right-clicking "Select all" before attempting to "Add to Evernote 4" seems to work. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Just upgraded to 4.6.1.7860 (268368) Public for IE9 32-bit on Windows 7 64-bit. Can no longer save https pages due to error message "Internet Explorer restricted this webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls." URL only is saved to the note. Neither clicking "Allow blocked content" nor adjusting security settings solves problem. Is it possible to downgrade to the previous working version 4.5.10.7472? Thanks.
  9. Hi Hope there is a straight forward code (C#) example showing how I can initiate the web clipping (done via the EvernoteIE.dll call in IE context menu) from a Winforms App using the IE Webbrowser control. I.e that is to "mimic right click / add to Evernote " done from IE itself. regards A
  10. I just upgraded to version 4.5.9. Today I have received errors on 3 out ot 4 pages I tried to clip after the upgrade.I am receiving the following error: An error occured while processing clipped data (conversion failed). I haven't received any clipping errors before this version. I am using IE 32 bit (9.0.8112.16421) on Windows 7 64 bit. How do I fix or how do I revert to the previous version while this is being fixed. Here is a page that won't clip: http://www.sqlservercentral.com/articles/Integration+Services+(SSIS)/91665/ . Any help would be greatly appreciated
  11. I use Evernote for my business and it works well on iPad, iPhone and old desktop computer. I have a new laptop with a 64bit version (whatever that means) of my Internet Explorer. I have uninstalled program twice but still doesn't work. Do I have to find a replacement for Evernote because I have a new computer? Any information is really appreciated!
  12. I'm running IE9 (NOT the 64 bit version) but my evernote web clipper has disappeared. When I go to 'manage add-ons' it says 'Add to Evernote 4' is enabled, but 'not available'. I've tried uninstalling Evernote completely and reinstalling it, but the problem remains. It's really irritating. If I ask for more info it gives me: Name: Add to Evernote 4 Publisher: Not Available Type: Browser Extension Version: Not available File date: Date last accessed: ‎30 ‎August ‎2012, ‏‎11:11 Class ID: {A95FE080-8F5D-11D2-A20B-00AA003C157A} Use count: 1 Block count: 0 File: Not available Folder: Not available Any ideas?
  13. On viewing Salesforce pages the web clipper fails to capture/send the complete page to Evernote. Examining the note in Evernote it drops off the portion below the screen you would have to scroll down to see. As a test Web Clipper had no problem sending the full page off drudgereport.com. Is there a setting to resolve this?
  14. Or better yet, uninstall it, if that is possible. I installed an Evernote update today and discovered that every time I copy text, it's turned into a note in Evernote. Among other things, this can be one hell of a security risk (try copying a password). There's also the fact that this wasn't mentioned during the update installation. And, finally, it's simply annoying. If I can't stop this behavior, then I'll have to go back to an earlier version of Evernote. If that doesn't work, goodbye, Evernote. Thanks to anyone who has an answer.
  15. Hello, I was having trouble with IE9 so I had to reset the browser to the default settings. When I did that I lost the evernote clipper that would show up in the drop down menu when I right click on a webpage. That was so useful for saving to Evernote. I also lost a toolbar icon that must have installed when I installed Evernote. Can someone please tell me how to get them back? When I click on Manage Add-ons in the IE settings, I see that Evernote is enabled but I can't figure out how to make the toolbar and menu options visible. I also went to the Evernote web clipper page to see if perhaps the clipper got removed when I reset but it tells me that it is already installed. Please help if you can... Thanks!
  16. I've been using Chrome Web Clipper for a while now and I always disable styles when clipping content. Under Chrome 21 and Web Clipper 5.6, it ignores my preference to disable clipping with styles. It no longer matters whether or not i have the "Preserve styles" box checked. Anyone else experience this?
  17. Here's a rant I posted on the EN blog a couple of days back ... I use EN a lot for online research, and the new clipper was slowing me down incredibly. I tried to find an old version to roll back to, but for now I'm having to settle for the bookmarklet. So is anybody else missing unobtrusive, sane, elegant clipping ? Is anybody else feeling the hate ? _______________________________________________ I appreciate the effort, but honestly, you guys should think about redubbing this newfangled guy “Web Clippy”, because just like it’s great uncle over at Microsoft it’s 1) obtrusive 2) slow 3) sufficiently inaccurate that it’s counter productive to even think about leaving it installed. 1) I do not need notebooks and categories suggested. Even when “Web Clippy” is right, it fills in the data slower than I can just type it in myself. 2) I DESPISE popups, especially those that I have to click to make go away. Honestly, are you trying to make Evernote look/feel like Spamware? 3) First do no harm! How can you turn something so friendly and unobtrusive into something so annoying, without at least including options to disable this *****? I don’t want to see related notes, I don’t want condescending suggestions … and if you want to add these features as options in Evernote for newbs, fine, but get out of my Safari where I”m here to work and do research. As a 2+ year subscriber to Evernote, a service that I adore and which is absolutely a lifeline for my job, I just uninstalled “Web Clippy” and now I’m off to find one of the old version so I can return to the sane, elegant way to upload snippets of web data.
  18. A few hours ago the Chrome Evernote clipper icon changed. For 2 weeks now it was "stuck" with a 1 count of pending documents painted on he Clip to Evernote Chrome icon. This happened 2 weeks ago when a computer crash interrupted a pending clipped document upload and I guess the pending count never got cleared. If I clipped new documents the count would increment but always fall back to 1, leaving the gold box with the pending count permanently etched onto the icon. However, that is not the problem. A little while ago the Evernote Clipper icon finally cleaned up the pending count (no gold box overlay). Unfortunately, I lost the ability to clip documents at the same time. When I click the Clipper icon now I see the floating overlay with the Evernote icon and the text Web Clipper, but nothing happens after that. I tried uninstalling the Clipper and re-installing it but it is still broken. Is anybody else seeing this problem as of today? I am running Chrome version 17.0.963.79 m. with Evernote Clipper 5.6 on Windows XP. -- roschler
  19. Hi, I've noticed some strange bug with Evernote's Web Clipper for Safari! A week ago, I bought a Synology NAS which comes with a web server to access the administration interface. I tried to login from: - Chrome (where I have the Evernote Web Clipper installed as well) and no issue! - Safari 6: I fill in my username/password on the Synology DSM 4.0 software and it tells me I could not login and invite me to retry. If I reload the webpage immediately, it just logs me in. Now, I have only two extensions installed and enabled in Safari: LastPass and Evernote Web Clipper. I tried uninstalling LastPass and stiill had the issue. Tried without Evernote, it worked like a charm. Renabled Evernote and stopped working pronto. This is a delicate issue as I am afraid Evernote's and Synology's support will redirect me to their respective counterpart support in a way it will never really get solved. Now I understand that Evernote's might not have a Synology NAS at hand but there must be something in the way it was coded that makes some website login not behaving correctly. Thank you for your consideration. Regards.
  20. dear friends, I have a problem on my web clipper plugin for firefox since I updated my Mac to Mountain Lion. it just cannot clip the web from firefox. any solution? thx
  21. So I'm struggling with the tool. I have the Clipper on Chrome. So i'm doing food research for a trip. i am saving things which is great. but if i wanted to create a clipping for a new city i can't create one on the fly. my only option is to go back to the web client and create it. am i missing something or am i not using the tool correctly. maybe i should give up creating sub notebooks under europe and just dump them all in one...very very confused.
  22. Since the latest update to Evernote 3.3, my web clipper in Firefox is no longer working. When attempting to clip a page the Evernote app opens, but no note is created. I am on a MBP running 10.8 Evernote Version 3.3.0 (300201) Firefox 14.0.1 With Web Clipper 5.1.0.252437 The clipper in chrome does work. Any help is appreciated. Thank you, Chris
  23. The web clipper on both my computers and in both Firefox and Chrome stopped working this morning. I have uninstalled and reinstalled on both computers, done hard reboots, downloaded and tried a beta version I found on this forum, everything else I can think of. Nothing works. Sometimes I get just the URL downloaded even though I have the article as a default download, or occasionally the clipper will arbitrarily highlight and download a sentence or two. Other times I will get a script busy notice. Here are two that I just received and even though I was using Firefox, they both reference Chrome: Script: chrome://webclipper3-common/content/libs/evernote/FF/Native/WinNativeAccessor.js:71 Script: chrome://webclipper3-common/content/libs/evernote/FF/Native/WinNativeAccessor.js:65 Can anyone suggest anything I can do? I really love and depend on this app. Thanks in advance.
  24. Every time I go to a page for which I want to save the URL in Evernote using Web Clipper under Chrome I have the same problem. The Web Clipper opens, but it automatically adds a tag of "Evernote"...which I don't want on anything. Sometimes it will just add random tags...as I just now went to Fidelity.com (Investments) and opened Web Clipper. It pre-added the tags of "Golf" and "Taxes" and wouldn't let me delete them or add others. If I'm saving something in Evernote I think I know where it is. These unwanted tags have an "x" on them, indicating I should be able to delete them...but I can't. Clicking the x does nothing. So for every URL, page, or article I clip from the web I have to then go back into the Evernote desktop client and edit out the "Evernote" tag and add the ones I want.
  25. Is there a way to append a clipp to an existing note? Or, i.e. how can I clip multiple pages into one note? Quite often, I use Evernote to clip how-to articles which continue on multiple pages. Presently, I clip the first page to create a note and then use copy paste for the following pages. Is there an easier way? An example is the Windows 8 article in InfoWorld <http://www.infoworld...dows_2012-07-25>; it spans three pages.
