  1. I have just upgraded to firefox 6.0.2. I have also upgraded my evernote extension to 5.0.0.177572. When I put in my evernote sign-on, I get "permission denied". I have uninstalled and reinstalled the extension twice with the same result. This is a work computer, so I am using evernote web here. Thanks!

  3. I am using a Windows 7 computer at work, with Google Chrome Browser and the Web Clipper installed. Next to my box is a MacBookPro with OSX Snow Leopard. I have logged in ok, and all seems fine. I navigate to my specific page on the Windows box, find an article, then click the icon, bringing up the Web Clipper tool. I click the drop down box to choose which Notebook that I want the clip stored in, then complete the tags and clip operation. Now, when I check to see if the clip was delivered (after Syncing), the note seems to be delivered to no place in particular. You can't find it in the Notebook I specified, or in any other notebook. However, if you click on the "All Notebooks" option, the clipped article appears at the top, with its tags and everything! Is there a step I'm missing? Thanks for your help in advance.
  4. Hello evernote-Community Is it possible to use a connected notebook in same way as a native notebook? I'd like to use a connected notebook from a friend with my webclipper - but it doesn't work. is there something i can do? Thanks!! best regards, Max
  5. Hi, I really appreciate this app, but I have an issue, and feel the extension could be improved. I have three accounts - one for business/work, one personal and the other is for a major project I'm working on, which requires being totally separate from my biz/personal accounts. Now, I often have to clip URLs/pages and the issue is, I have to reinstall the extension if it's showing notebooks for one account, when I need to clip to another account. Not user-friendly. Please give users who have multiple accounts the option (in the extension options obviously!) to sign in a different account, so there isn't a need to uninstall the extension, sign out of whichever account we're using, and then sign back in to the right account, and then reinstall the extension. So a drop down menu in the options showing the accounts registered to the user - these would have to be setup when the extension is installed. The other way this could be done would be to have the extension use the account currently being used. So if I'm signed into my personal account and I sign out and sign into my biz account, the extension should reflect that. The Delicious extension demonstrates a way of accomplishing the same thing. I know I could sign in a different account on the desktop, and manually add the URL, etc - but that defeats the purpose of having the extension installed. and I know I can't be the only customer who has multiple EN accounts.
  6. Summary: When performing Google Search, append the "Notes found" blue rectangle on top of google results straight away to cancel the lag that shifts google results down I am a recent user - not sure that this is the best place for this request - could not find a dedicated feature request section. My problem is the following: I want to have Evernote being searched when I perform a google search. Currently, as I am using the Chrome extension, the Google results page shows up near instantly, and a few instants later, the Evernote extension adds this blue rectangle saying how many notes it has found on Evernote. That's great, except for the delay that shifts all the google results down once the blue square is added to the page - my eyes have to readjust as they have already started scanning the google results who have just moved. If I have already decided on clicking on the first result from google, the link to matching Evernote records takes its place and I click on it inadvertently... Not sure if this could be solved easily by adding a placeholder for the blue rectangle - maybe saying something like "Searching through Evernote" as soon as the google results page is shown on my browser (and already shifting the results) - with the text being updated after the search is performed. I have only been trying this extension for a few hours and after the first "wow - that's cool", this actually feels a bit in the way when doing many searches. Side question: does the extension actually query my evernote client on my mac or evernote web? Details: MBP from 2010 Processor Speed: 2.53 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 Memory: 4 GB Mac OS X 10.6.8 Chrome 13.0.782.215 Clip to Evernote extension Version: 5.1.15.1534 Delay seems to be around 300-500 ms (between the google results page showing and the blue rectangle being appended) Connection speed: around 1MB/sec Cheers Jez
  7. I'm having a problem with the notes that I try to clip not showing up in evernote. I'm using the web clipper tool in Google Chrome and my operating system is Windows 7. I tried deleting and reinstalling both the clipper tool and the program for windows, but no luck. Notes don't show up either. Anyone have a suggestion on what I might check or do?
  8. The title is self explanatory - I am trying to do it on a work computer where they have locked down installation of any programs, so I am figuring it's probably something done by IT. Any tips on what I should look for to try and work around just installing the clipper?
  9. Has anyone been able to get the 5.x version of the web clipper to work with any version of Firefox > 6.0? I tried Aurora (version 7.0a) and Nightly (version 8.0a). Clicking the elephant button does nothing. When I open the options, I get this in the error console: Warning: Use of attributes' specified attribute is deprecated. It always returns true. Source File: chrome://webclipper3-common/content/options.html Line: 0 "Send Clips To" is set to neither Web nor Desktop. If I select one of those and save, nothing is saved, and I get this in the error console: 1314187685863 Sync.Engine.Forms WARN GUID query returned undefined; turn on Trace logging for details. 1314187756078 Sync.Tracker.Forms WARN Attempted to add undefined ID to tracker 1314187756079 Sync.Engine.Forms WARN GUID query returned undefined; turn on Trace logging for details. 1314187756079 Sync.Tracker.Forms WARN Attempted to add undefined ID to tracker 1314187756079 Sync.Engine.Forms WARN GUID query returned undefined; turn on Trace logging for details. 1314187756079 Sync.Tracker.Forms WARN Attempted to add undefined ID to tracker I know it's not supported, but it would be nice to have it working again. The bookmarklet does work, BTW.
  10. I just need to confirm this because the stupidity of it boggles the mind. Here's the use case: 1. A friend shares a folder with me with full access. 2. After sync I can see the notebook inside the application. 3. Using the application I can add new notes to the notebook that was shared with me, and I can modify any notes whether I created them or not. 4. I find a webpage I need to clip and add to the notebook that was shared with me. 5. Doh! That's pretty much it, right? NO clipping to a shared folder? Wow. Bill
  11. Hi, I'm using the Clip To Evernote extension for Chrome on Windows Vista and I am seriously thinking about going to the paid version, but I'm having a problem when I try to edit and then save a clipped article or page. I go to edit and make the changes I want, but when I click the "done" button, Evernote freezes and I have to close the window manually. I then get an "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this window, etc., error message, I click yes and the window closes. The edits are saved, but the process is a little annoying. I tried Evernote on Firefox and it works as it should, but I prefer Chrome and would like to get it working properly for it. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Lou
  12. Hello: Please help on the strange Web Edit and Clip functions on Chrome 13. 1. Web Edit Use Evernote web version on Chrome 13/WinXpsp3, I can not edit my new and stored notes. No edit bar appear at all. On the other hand, use IE8/WinXPsp3, edit bar can appear and edit work OK. Any thing wrong with Chrome ? 2. Clip Use "clip to evernote" Chrome externsion to clip a selected text in Yahoo email page, I can ony see "get full page" and "get URL" two options. Is it correct ? Why there is no "selected area" option ? Please help ! Thank a lot !
  13. Has anybody else specifically selected a destination Notebook when doing a Chrome extension web clip only to find the Note in a different Notebook when you click on View/Edit from the "clipping finished" notification popup? I wasn't sure at first but now I've had at least a few cases of this, and since I've been wary, it has happened when I specifically double-checked the destination Notebook I selected before clipping the note. -- roschler
  14. I was attempting to clip the API Developer Overview page using the Evernote Chrome Extension: http://www.evernote.com/about/developer/api/evernote-api.htm I every time I tried the page would "crash" with the Chrome "Aw, Snap!" message. I set up a test where completely deleted the extension log right before attempting to clip the same page. Again it crashed so I am posting the Extension log here if it can help: -- roschler
  15. So, I've tested the Web Clipper in every supported browser across all supported platforms. What I've found, as the subject says, is a uniformly inconsistent set of results. IE9 & Chrome (Mac) seem to have the best overall output on Full Page Web Clips. The biggest Issues: Repeating CSS Background-Image Graphics Are Not |or| Are Partially Appearing: This seems like a fairly simple issue to resolve. What's happening is that the BG-Graphics are cut-off [or are completely excluded from the conversion all together] where the graphic "repeats" beyond the viewport (or area of the page that is currently in view inside of the browser window). Missed Links w/ BG-Images: Some Links in Chrome & FF don't always get picked-up, and instead, show an outlined box with visited-styled link text inside. I'm pretty sure that these are carry-over faults from Adobe PDF technology itself, and I also found that the Adobe Acrobat Pro Utility itself does a somewhat better job (yet, still suffers from primarily the same issues). Though, I'd still love to see these issues get resolved as it would mean Flawless-Webpage PDF's. Thx! ~JR http://jrod.info
  16. I have lot's of clipped url and all of them are rendered wrong in the web client under Chrome. They show up fine in Firefox. As you can see by the screenshot, the link text overlaps the site link. This happens in the old and new website.
  17. Hello! After registering for Evernote in 2009 I've finally decided to put it to good use. I logged in today, reorganized my nine or so clips and made new notebooks. I deleted two old notebooks that were automatically generated from my Google accounts. However, I cannot clip any new items to my new notebooks. When I use the Firefox clipper, I get the option to save to the two old notebooks - but that's it. I have tried restarting Firefox but that doesn't help. Since the old notebooks are not longer in my queue and I have no other options for saving, my clips are being lost in the ether. Has anyone encountered this before? Advice?
  18. Just implemented EN on Thesis blog. Everything works fine--BUT the clip function preserves the light text color and puts it on a white background--making it damned near invisible. Is there a way to instruct EN to alter the text and/or background color when clipping from the site and pasting into visitors' notebooks? If not, EN is useless to me. Which would be a pity. Thanks for any help! Here's a sample page to clip: http://makeyourbookamovie.com/make-your ... ywood/121/
  19. One particular page I tried to clip has seem to have gotten it stuck and it won't upload any clips. Every clip thereafter just adds to the count. I don't mind clearing it out and losing those clips, but I don't know how. Any suggestions?
  20. In the new web UI, pasting plain text from clipboard into a note still does not work  !!! The browser is IE8 on XP SP3. Pasting works perfectly in Google mail, Live, and all other sites I visit on this machine. Is it just me? Nobody else has this problem? Agree that Evernote is a very special app, but just in this aspect can you please be like others? I have the Windows app installed on other machine, but on this machine I can use only the web interface. And no Firefox etc. -- pa
  21. Hi all, We have an update to the Firefox Extension that supports native / local clipping for Windows. Please take it for a test drive and if you find any unexpected behaviors let us know. We are also working duly on Mac support. File is attached in note below: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s13/sh/f ... 5deb57637e Thanx for your patience!
  22. This issue is very similar to the thread Evernote Chrome is slow and unuseable: http://forum.evernote.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=22576&hilit=GOOGLE&start=25 with one addition: Chrome (Windows 7 64-bit) would not stop uploading Here's what happened: 1. I received a message yesterday stating I was at 75% of my free uploading quota for a one month period. 2. I kept clipping (both URLs and complete pages) a few more times and noticed the Chrome extension was indicating I had two notes in queue then wouldn't clip anymore. 3. At the same time, my computer began to upload a large amount of data (138 kbps) that stopped when I closed Chrome, but started again whenever I opened Chrome again. 4. After scanning for viruses and spyware with nothing found, I started Task Manager and it verified Chrome was the program uploading. 5. Today I searched Google's help forum for Chrome and found a similar problem had been reported in October 2010 and had yet to be resolved: http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=750ff6a1ae03b1d7&hl=en&fid=750ff6a1ae03b1d70004a00dca9f40c4 6. I had been planning to upgrade my membership anyway, so I upgraded today, hoping that would solve the problem; it did not. 7. Because the Chrome Web Clipper still hadn't synced, I removed the extension which solved the upload problem. I didn't check to see what IP address Chrome was uploading to, but I assume it was the same address and posted the fix on Chrome's help forum. I found the above mentioned thread on this forum after searching to see if anyone else had the same problem. As far as Clip to Evernote version 4.2.13.6903, to this point its been hit or miss. I did a few test clips (clipping URLs and complete pages) and two worked, one didn't. Until this bug is fixed, I'll be keeping the Evernote desktop client open to verify important clips make it into my notes.
  23. Is this coming back?? I have no desire to clip to the web interface. No that this is broken, my workflow is seriously hindered. Should I move on, or wait impatiently until this function is restored?? Thanks!!
  24. I tried to clip the following web page (entire page) using the Evernote extension for Chrome (11.0.696.25 beta) and had the clipping window show me the error "Bad Data Format" in red at the bottom. (see image below.) http://www.designboom.com/weblog/cat/9/ ... plete.html I was able to clip the main body/images on the page after selecting them (rather than using "entire page" clipping.) So there seems to be something with the entire page that's keeping the clipper from clipping the page. (I do run NotScript, so scripting was off for the designboom.com and tailsweep.com domains, although I'm not sure why that would cause the problem.) This isn't a major problem, but it's the first time I've encountered it and I thought you (Evernote) would like to know. Cheers.
  25. I just installed Firefox 4 on my MacBook Pro and see that the Web clipper clips to Evernote Web rather than to the desktop client (with optional Web) as in Firefox 3.x. As it happens, I like the fact it clips to the desktop client a lot - what's the deal here? Are we likely to see the functionality return soon? Thanks, Des
