  1. Hi, I'll start with I love Evernote! Thank you for building such a wonderful product. I'm considering using Ev as my journaling app. I've read a thread or two regarding how people use it for journaling. I find there's really only one thing lacking... I'd like to be able to search by a specific time range, without the year constraint. Stated another way, I'd like to be able to see all entries I created for week 25 (or something like 7/1 - 7/12), regardless of year. You see, I believe life follows a certain set of patterns regardless of year. I want to be able to basically find how I'm "feeling" or experiencing life in a given timeframe regardless of year. Kind of like a "did the same kind of thing happen the last 3 years straight?" What I just mentioned was probably pretty easy. So, let me throw out the evolution: I'd also like to see something like, notes created between day 5 - 10, ever month or every quarter, regardless of year. Yes, I am that weird. I know of no other system that allows me to search that way, but I will FOREVER sing Ev's praises if you guys made it happen!
  2. Which of these two tables is easier to understand at a glance to decide what to work on first? Reminders Due Date AMIA Proposal Work Thu, Jun 30 X-Prize Scoring Fri, Jul 8 ABPM Picture Certification Sat, Jul 24 Reminders Time Left AMIA Proposal Work 9 Days X-Prize Scoring 15 Days ABPM Picture Certif 1 Month 2 Days The second one is easier to use for most people because the first takes extra cognitive steps to process. This is the principle of "Frictionless Cognitive Load" and it is used in healthcare to help doctors ensure that they recognize dates and times in medical records more quickly and easily. The principle of "Frictionless Cognitive Load" can be added as an option to make Evernote Reminders, and even other parts of user design, even better.
  3. I have a suggestion (or wish, or sorts). Would it be possible to add a new type of note to Evernote: A list note. That is, each note consists of a list of items (sorted/unsorted) with optional priorities and other features. Currently, I use plain text notes with bullet points or simply newlines to make these, but a dynamic list with drag-and-droppables could be more useful.
  4. Hello, I'm new to Evernote...we'll I've had it a while but never had the time to look into it properly but now I'm all set up & ready to rock! MY PROBLEM: Keeping (new) tags tidy. My system uses nested tags with various non-alphanumeric characters to keep everything in order. The problem is that there will always be new 'random' tags; tags I might not use that often or do not belong to my main groups. POSSIBLE SOLUTION: The ability to set up an automatic default parent tag for all new tags. Very similar to the "By default, place all new notes into the following notebook" option. This would keep the tags tidy & out of sight - ready for a weekly clean! Thanks...and thanks for a great product!
  5. I think evernote is currently by far the best notes program out there, and I've been evangelizing about it for a while now. However, there is the possibility for a huge sea-change in the way these types of note apps work…and for that, we need only look at the mega-viral success of the website "pinterest." People love pinboards because it's a great user interface! A focus on notes and notebooks is great, but I think another great improvement to EN would involve shareable 'workspaces' or 'pinboards' where a user could spread out multiple notes, notebooks, stacks, to-do lists, images, pdfs, etc etc all on a zoomable plane extending in multiple directions. This would really help with seeing the big picture, organizing ideas, and connecting the dots. Maybe you could even link objects together, and highlighting an object in a workspace would show edges connected to related objects. So, if someone from EN staff reads this, consider the possibility of a higher level of abstraction in terms of workspaces/pinboards. That added flexibility can pay dividends longterm because then one app (evernote) could take the place of several (mind-maps, task managers, etc etc). In terms of the GTD system, each project could have its own workspace, shareable with whoever needs to be involved. After all, what's better than having all of your notes searchable? What's the REAL reason paper note-taking still clings to life? I'll tell you: being able to spread things out and look at them all at once is very useful! -Bion Howard
  6. Hi. In first time, excuse my english language. I only know a few words of english. Idea: Add a function that allows to program when a note is to be deleted. Examples: "send to trash at date": 21 of july of 2016. "send to trash at date": on 12 weeks from now. Reasons: Sometimes I capture information on a particular things that may be useful at any time, but only for a period of time. After some months (or years) that information remains in Evernote without being helpful. When this happens repeatedly, I have accumulate dozens of notes unusefull. Just for that, then I waste my time reviewing many notes to see if I still are Useful or not.
  7. Is it possible to show imported shared notes on the same tab as my own notes? Coz it is only comfortable to shared notes owner to use them. The people who imported notes have to switch from tab to tab working with evernote. Also there should be simple switch added, like: "Show all|my|imported". Have no idea why wasn't this done by default.
  8. Evermap or Everroute? Friends, I would suggest you create a repository of route navigation systems. Your user could create a route through the web site interface, note the waypoints and leave a note and then upload it in his navigation program. The user will be able to: - Create your own section in the store. - Build and edit a route through the web interface, and then load it into your navigator and start a movement. - Maintain a repository of history actually took place travel tags to apply after the trip. - Provide public access to the route to other users. For developers, navigation systems connect to the service may be made chargeable. С уважением, dmi.ershov@gmail.com
