  1. Im a long term Evernote user and have just purchased a Samsung Note 2. I was hoping there is an efficient way to integrate handwriting recognition into my meeting notes? where do i start? is penultimate the way forward? Thanks.
  2. Hey Guys, I am trying to use Evernote to keep all of my course notes together so I can search them at great length when it comes to revision time and also access everything, anywhere, anytime. However I am having some problems with my initial setup when it comes to hand written notes. I have a ScanSnap which I am using to scan in all my hand written notes. I have also read that for the best hand writing recognition you should use JPG not PDF. I have tried doing this but each individual side of paper goes into a separate note. You can then merge them but it then goes in the wrong order. Does anyone have any housekeeping tips on how to make this progress work quickly and effectively how you would want it to work (scan in, in the correct oder, one note and filed). I don't want to be spending 10 minutes each time for my hand written notes. Any help/tips/suggestions would be great. Hopefully I explained my problem to a great enough extent. Thanks in advance !
  3. I am trying to figure out how I can record a meeting while handwriting notes. I can't type fast enough to keep up. any suggestions????
  4. Tried to do a quick search (Google & Forums) and had the question, "How does Evernote handle cursive handwriting?" I recently saw the new Moleskin Evernote(books) and am intrigued & interested in them. (Although I want Android support ASAP.) So... How does Evernote handle cursive handwriting?
  5. I have worked with Tablets and used them for over 10 years.. I enjoyed OneNote and the inking ability from meetings versus the chatter of a keyboard. I'm very surprised that Evernote hasn't removed the middleware of inking natively within Evernote. This is a major gap and causes most users to use PenUltimate, Awesome Note, or any other suite of apps that are out there... While I understand that a mere change in their offering could canibalize the ink software apps.. the feature is very overdue... I used ritepen instead of the windows input panel and it was solid... but MSFT had an edge.. I use Awesome note but Evernote has the edge.. I hope that Evernote will see this opportunity and capitalize on it and include ink in Evernote natively... otherwise I and many others will continue to struggle with managing the middleware solution and just deal with the gap.. Thank you for your support and for including inking on the next update!
  6. Skitch is awesome - don't get me wrong. I love it for what it is and what is does. But- It would be great to see Evernote launch a full featured handwriting app for smart phones and tablets. A kind of note book that is exported or syncs with Evernote that allows for hadwritten notes, and lengthily ones, with features like inserting pictures and copy and paste text, zoom for fine details, paint type options (brush and color selection and what not). Fine tuning this idea would make Evernote have the exact capabilities as a real notebook, which is surprisingly lacking on the Android market. I am in the process of developing an app, you can check out the analogue paper version here: GLOWW Journal. This may seem confusing, so if you have any questions, feel free to email me. Anyways, A notebook app that incorporates handwritten notes (directly from the screen, not photo copies), ability to insert pictures and drawing features (like a big, crazy, mulimedia mind-map) would put Evernote at the TOP of any note taking/journaling/TCB/GTD list...that's just my opinion. I'm thinking about staring a poll on my blog to see how many people would like to see this actually happen. Then maybe if the numbers are high enough, we can get the developers at Evernote working on it. Check out NoGLoww for detail starting tomorrow (March 2nd)
  7. Hello, I own and use a Samsung Galaxy Note. I was wondering if there are plans/a way for me to enter data via the 'S Pen' system that comes with my device? Thank you for your help in advance.
  8. Hi all, I've been having problems getting Evernote to convert a picture of a note to handwriting. Also, this is my first attempt in using this feature. Here's what I did: 1) snapped a picture and emailed it to Evernote using inbox and tag names. 2) waited about 5 to 10 minutes before syncing Now, here's what's wrong: 3) Evernote syncs and downloads the picture, instead of converting it. Was there any step I missed? I've tried sending to Evernote and synching but the same happens.
  9. Been using Evernote for awhile. Got HTC Flyer this week. Thought Evernote processed images and extracted text, but my handwritten notes on the Flyer aren't being extracted into text. Am hoping to take notes with the Flyer's pen and get back text. Anybody had any success with this? I'm a researcher capturing notes in school classrooms and handwriting attracts much less attention than using a keyboard. Thanks.
  10. Currently, I have a HTC Evo 4G (or as I like to call it, the Evo OG), and no tablet. And as badly as I want to upgrade my phone and purchase a 10"+ Android tablet, there's only one thing holding me back: The ability to write notes with a pen/stylus on my devices AND sync them to Evernote...and yes, this feature alone does play a MAJOR role in my purchasing decision. I know what some of you are saying: "Well, the HTC Jetstream tablet does that," and, "The Samsung Galaxy Note phone lets you write notes, as well." About the Jetstream: I LOVE the Notes App that syncs to Evernote (the same on the HTC Flyer/Evo View 4G), but 3 problems: Only on AT&T (I'm on Sprint, and have ZERO interest to switch) Overpriced ($900+) No Wi-Fi version And the Galaxy Note: Love EVERYTHING about it...but one thing: its S-Memo app doesn't sync to Evernote. With the introduction of Android 4.0 -- a.k.a. Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) -- comes the native stylus support, a feature that most kinesthetic folks (like myself), artists, writers, and others of the sort salivate over. The best thing about it: it's OS-integrated, meaning any and every device (smartphones and tablets) running ICS will have this feature. Evernote...this is YOUR moment! Many mobile contract expirations are coming up, as well as phone upgrade perks for loyal customers, and MANY of them are eyeballing the new Android devices: those coming with ICS, and others that will be upgraded to ICS. If you guys can develop an Evernote app that functions similarly -- if not, the EXACT same -- as the Notes app on the Jetstream and Flyer/View 4G, and utilize the native stylus support API from Android, you guys will have something that goes BEYOND brand loyalty! It wouldn't be limited to just one product or one carrier; those with HTC, Samsung, Motorola, Asus, Acer, LG, and other products would benefit GREATLY, and on EVERY carrier (domestic AND international), which, in turn, rapidly increases your user base! I apologize for being wordy, but if you could see the potential that I do, you, too, would be excited! PLEASE roll the dice on this, Evernote, because believe it or not, many of us -- including myself -- are taking you, your company, and this possible writing feature into account when it comes to their next purchasing decision. You DO matter!
