  1. Hey all, I use Evernote on a Galaxy Tab 10.1. Everything works very well, except the in app handwriting. My handwriting is (in EN) is jerky and harder to read than on paper. Is it the old tablet? me? the new app? Any tips or help making the in app writing useful would be very appreciated.
  2. I am trying to use the newly released handwriting option on my Nexus 7(2013 version). I recently updated the application but did not see the handwriting tool. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app about 3 times and still have not been able to use the handwriting option at all. Anyone else having problems with this? Could it be because I don't haze the current version? Any help would be appreciated. (Also I have sent a troubleshooting message to Evernote but I'm not sure about when they will reply)
  3. http://blog.evernote.com/blog/2014/03/05/handwriting-arrives-evernote-android/ (emphasis mine) Maybe I missed something but can you actually take handwritten notes while recording audio notes at the same time? How? I am able to record audio but then I have to back out of that while drawing the diagrams/charts in lecture. I am also able to type notes on my galaxy note while audio is recording, but that doesn't help with the figures. It wastes time to have to carry a separate notebook just to copy the figures down, and then later go back and scan them into the note. Handwriting would be useful if I could actually record the professor's lecture while drawing the diagrams into the note. If I have to pause/stop the audio recording while drawing - that sort of defeats the purpose. A lot of the time the diagram is being changed as he draws and having his explanation recording simultaneously with my copying the diagrams down is really important to understanding the material. If I have to pause/stop audio, in order to copy the figures, I've missed the explanations, which bring sense to the figures. And with how fast he talks + erases/redraws, there's no way to copy both the figures & the explanation so audio recording is very important.
  4. Handwriting is a great feature to add on Android version, but why not let it be annotated too? The windows version let's user annotate handwriting notes made on Android but not in Android itself Screenshot: annotate option on a handwriting note (in Windows)
  5. I wonder if a new version of Evernote with handwriting feature will be available on iPhone as it was in Android
  6. I've started using Penultimate in an effort to go paperless with my writing and blogging. What I do is have a Penultimate/Evernote window open on one side of the screen and a Word document or blog post on the other side so I can easily copy down what I've written. I have a giant notebook filled with writing that I would like to easily copy over. What's the best way, if there is one, I can scan the notebook and have it appear in Evernote in one note so I can easily copy what I've written into a computer file?
  7. I am delighted by the acquisition of Penultimate, but it raises a concern that has been lingering for a while. Evernote can read my handwritten note. Bravo! I handwritten an email address and want to send an email to that address. I will have toread the note and type the address into my email application. Boo! It is crucial that handwritten content become content that I can se not just read. Can you let us know where this fits in the roadmap?
  8. I have been using Evernote for a year now, since moving over with my Live Scribe Sky Pen. The OCR in evernote is good for searching handwritten notes, but when am I going to be able to export those notes as text! This was something was was in LiveScribe thru the MyScript plug-in. When Can I get that done in Evernote! Also, when can I export my notes as PDF's or just images to be processed further. HTML export is not what I'm looking for! I'm pulling my hair out on process workflow here since moving into the Evernote Ecosystem. Any help is appreciated!
  9. I have worked with Tablets and used them for over 10 years.. I enjoyed OneNote and the inking ability from meetings versus the chatter of a keyboard. I'm very surprised that Evernote hasn't removed the middleware of inking natively within Evernote. This is a major gap and causes most users to use PenUltimate, Awesome Note, or any other suite of apps that are out there... While I understand that a mere change in their offering could canibalize the ink software apps.. the feature is very overdue... I used ritepen instead of the windows input panel and it was solid... but MSFT had an edge.. I use Awesome note but Evernote has the edge.. I hope that Evernote will see this opportunity and capitalize on it and include ink in Evernote natively... otherwise I and many others will continue to struggle with managing the middleware solution and just deal with the gap.. Thank you for your support and for including inking on the next update!
