  1. I just purchased the annotate tool by skitch for PDFs on Google drive. Using on my OnePlus 3 android. When I annotate I select done but the annotations don't save. Or if they do elsewhere I don't know where to find them. Hope someone can help.
  2. As you can see from he image above, I do not have a google drive triangle icon readily available on my account for whatever reason. I am not using a premium account but it says the sync is available to all accounts. I am using evernote online. If anyone knows how to get this going please advise. Greatly appreciated. As a bonus, if anyone uses evernote with google drive, I would love to know the best way you do this. My ideal situation would be having 'workflow' google page workpapers that list out various goals, and have that sync to evernote so that I can more easily track them and note when completed etc. Kindly, B Amechi
  3. Hello, I have a premium account and the Google Drive icon and is not appearing in the edit bar on Evernote web. How can I make it appear again?
  4. Hi everyone. Did I miss something or is the Google Drive icon missing from the Web interface? Many users are reporting the issue and it is considerably slowing their productivity flow. Is it intentional? Is it a bug? Thanks Severine Evernote Community Leader Perth Australia
  5. I'm starting to find the Google Drive integration more and more handy over time as a way to minimise local storage on my Mac. Where before I would save PDFs and photos directly in Evernote, I'm now saving things that don't require OCR in Drive. One irritating restriction is the fact that you can only attach one file from Drive at a time so it's really cumbersome to attach multiple files. Is there a specific reason why it isn't possible to select multiple files to attach from Drive?
  6. When I first read of your all-new feature of integration with Google Drive, I was in heaven. I finally had a way to keep my articles and article notes on Evernote, taking advantage of the advanced search and nested tags features of the software, while also having one single file to annotate through third-party apps (I don't really like the internal Evernote app) and having the same file on Paperpile. No more duplicates, no need to remember where my annotated version of a paper was, and no more need to search in three places. At least - i thought so. Unless I'm not wrong, I quickly discovered files hosted on Drive are not searchable in Evernote - thus missing one of the most important reasons of subscribing Evernote plus in the first place. Sure enough, Google Drive has quite a strong search engine in itself, but that would concern only the stored pdf and not my own notes, or the web clippings I might have taken here and there. Nor - to be sure - I can take advantage of the labelling system on Drive. Likewise, Paperpile (to which I recently switched from Zotero) lacks, as for today, any in-text search feature (although that seems to be a planned improvement), and, while it is great for categorising and organising articles and books, it doesn't cover note-taking or web clipping (which makes sense, since it is supposed to be a referencing tool and not a note taker). I hope that in-text search of files stored on Google Drive is planned, as otherwise I might consider to downgrade to a basic plan soon.
  7. Google has recently started "Team Drives". Unfortunately files of Team Drives cannot be added to notes yet, just Google Drive Files.
  8. Evernote couldn't get rid of it old cons - it has bad user interface and it works slow. So I quit Evernote after years of trying to benefit from it. I used Basic, I used Premuim for year or two - it doesn't matter. I always end up collecting a bunch of unrelated data I can't use. Sync with that evernote-award-winning Swipes didn't help. Nothing did. I quit Evernote for the bunch of reasons, here's main: speed, structure, user interface and threrefore - usability. Speed Now I use Simplenote each time I need a quick text pastebox or a quick note. 1680 plain text bits and counting. Size varies from the names to articles or the books. Search is a lightning. Launches less than in a second, works offline everywhere, syncs flawlessly. Extra options - txt in zip archive, dropbox sync. For free. Structure Workflowy is for the structure, tasks, notes and thinking process. I keep there 20.000 + and counting notes and texts. Still works faster than Evernote did. 2 seconds to launch desktop chrome app which works offline and 3-4 seconds for mobile app on the iPhone 5. Workflowy has it's cons but there's a structure can't be beaten. I outline my 20.000 notes they way they can be seen in a 600x280px window. Though I prefer 600x780px to see 30 lines of my data. Wonder what are the dimesions and the complexity of the interface needed to handle this data ocean? 600x73px. 8 buttons and a search field. I use 3 of them. Also there were 6 keyboard shortcuts I needed to remember. 2 of them was "copy" and "paste" I happen two know before. Copy and paste works for thousands of notes user can move and outline in the same time. #tags for additional organisation. Works instantly. All tags can be placed anywhere in text. Rest is done by the google drive, google keep, google docs and related services. Images? Paperless? One can shoot and save photos right into the folders on the google drive today. + You can save images for your research right from the google image search. Camscanner is the best tool to digitalize documents. Can't be beaten today. Dropbox provides save features without image fine-tuning. Png, or PDF. Dropbox Recorder app is used to record long audio - this is the only tool I'm not sure is the best on the market, I'll be thankful for better advice. Still - today I see the once revolutionary ideas in the fundament of the Evernote was neatly implemented by others. I can write, record, photo, collect, outline and never forget anything without good old elephant. The thing is Evernote is still the only tool that can do everything at once somehow. So there's a few people might be happy to stick with it. It's just not for me. Every time I've looked at the Evernote for this years I felt a strong urge to redesign it from the scratch. For now - farewell, Evernote. We're done untill I get a letter from the HQ hiring me to prototype the new everything ) PS I decided to post this here because of the continuous error {"success":"false","reason":"csrf_failure"} on the Premium to Basic transition page.
  9. How do you export EN Notes to Google Drive as a Google Doc, or PDF File? and/or save EN Notes on Desktop as PDF File?
  10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dycD60u-dys&ab_channel=Evernote This is cryptic. What is it trying to convey? What exactly is "smarter"? It is usually not a good sign when watching a marketing video once does not make sense. Surely the benefit could have been conveyed in a sentence or two.
  11. Navigating through Drive folders via the Evernote Drive shortcut is cumbersome. Please add the ability to attach multiple files or even entire folders to a note at one time.
  12. I hope I'm missing something, but I just tried to find the much touted Google Drive integration on the iOS app and all it seems to do is to attach a pdf of my Google sheet to my Note. This is neither useful nor new. Is there more??
  13. I enabled Google Drive in my (Premium) Evernote account on the web. I checked my Google Drive account and it says I am connected to Evernote. I checked my Evernote connections and it says I am connected to Google Drive. Problem is I am unable to see the Google Drive "connection" (or whatever I am supposed to see) on my Evernote WEB (or my Evernote PC application). Aren't I supposed to have access to my Google Drive contents from Evernote Web or from Google Drive. There is no Google ICON or indicator on my Evernote web login. Can't find any option to add it either. What am I missing here?
  14. Hello. I was just wondering if anyone else has had issues with the syncing between their multiple devices? I have EN Premium on my iPhone, MacBook Pro, and my Windows computer at work running Windows 10. I do a lot of jumping around between my devices throughout the day, and I have noticed that it takes a very long time for Evernote to sync all of my recent changes across my different devices. Example: I upload a PDF to my MacBook, add it to a notebook in EN, switch over to my Windows EN, refresh, sync, sync again, wait 10 minutes, sync again, restart EN, sync again, and the PDF that I uploaded from my MacBook is still not showing up on my PC, nor my iPhone. The same thing happens when creating a new Notebook (really any change for that matter). When I do the same things with Google Drive, the changes seem instant; I don't have to wait at all for my Google Drive to sync. Any ideas on how to fix this? Or does EN just take longer to sync? Cheers.
  15. Hi, I'm a Premium user and a Beta tester. I still don't see the Google Drive icon on the Evernote, please advise how I can see it. Thanks.
  16. When using the Google Drive integration for Mac OSX it would make way more sense for the attachment to link to the local copy of the drive file using OSX's file URL scheme. In that case, if you're offline then the Google Drive links would still function. Also, it's just more OSX-like. And there's the advantage that the file will open with the user's preferred app. Some files may even be unreadable by Google Drive. Please consider adding this as a feature. I really appreciate what you guys are doing with the Google Drive integration, but I think it could be better and right now it's not quite as awesome as it could be. ^^
  17. I've just started using the new Google Drive integration for Mac OSX and when I attach an image from Google Drive it crops the images in the preview it gives. I would much rather it showed the full image. When viewing on Android, the preview shows the full pic, so why does it not on Mac and web too? Also, for pdf attachments the user can right click and select "View as attachment" to stop the pdf preview being shown. It would be good if Google Drive images also had this option.
  18. I was thrilled to see that yesterday's update to the public Android app (7.9.3) finally included Google Drive integration (I'd been really looking forward to this). Two "bugs" I immediately spotted, though (I think)... The "onboarding" process is flawed... There's a little pop-up introducing the feature, and the only option is "Got it." Thing is, the feature was not there for me. I discovered (quite by accident) that I had to "Enable rich links" in the app's settings (which is off by default). That's really not obvious. The bigger issue, though, is that while Drive attachments now display perfectly on both of my Android devices (phone and tablet), the option (icon) to add a drive attachment only exists on my phone. It's still missing on my tablet (Nexus 7 2013). Both devices are running 7.9.3 and both have "Enable rich links" turned-on.
  19. Getting a Scannable document into an ongoing email chain in Gmail is tedious. Can we streamline this, perhaps by adding an "Export to Google Drive" feature to Scannable? The current process looks like this: Scan with Scannable. (iPhone) Save to Evernote. Open Evernote. Find/open the same scanned document. Click "Open in...", scroll, select Google Drive. (Why isn't this feature in Scannable, or really, why isn't Scannable rolled into the Evernote app?) Go to Gmail. Attach the scan to ongoing email chain.
  20. Aloha, I'm an iPhone 6 user (Still on IOS 8) - It looks like the last upgrade to the Scannable app was on 9/22/2015 to v 2.0.1 (Numerous bug fixes & improvements for iOS9) Something changed with this last Scannable update and I'm no longer able (or just can't figure out) how to move/upload a recently scanned item directly to a folder in Google Drive as I had been able to do previously. It doesn't seem to give me the same options as it had previously either. I used to be able to easily upload a file to a folder on any number of Google Drive accounts I was able to select. This happened after the file was uploaded to Evernote, then I was presented with options to share or upload elsewhere (can't recall the terms used.) Help please - I miss that!
  21. Hello everyone. Recently embarking on the paperless journey, I have quickly realized that for the elegant simplicity of naming and tagging documents to be thrown into the Evernote soup and retrieved later via metadata or a robust search, there are many hang-ups in doing so with documents that one either needs to edit, ammend, aggregate, or otherwise tinker with while doing work. Whether these documents are as basic as MS Office files, or as complex as large statistical data sets, there are things that, at this juncture, just cannot live happily in the Evernote world. Without a boring discourse, I really have two fundamental questions: For those who require a file structure outside of evernote to do work (be it because of file formatting, frequent editing, sharing with non-evernoters, firewall issues for EN syncing, etc) - what, if any, program(s) do you use to achieve a similar level of ubiquitous access to your files as is provided in Evernote (i.e. Dropbox, Sugarsync, GDrive, etc.).? Whether you use a cloud sync tool or not, what is your preferred method of non-Evernote folder/file nomenclature/project structure? Does your file and folder nomenclature change if the documents are to eventually be archived in Evernote? I have grown quite fond of the YYMMDD prefix that Grumpy Monkey has adapted for his digital life, but I am struggling with how such a filing identifier can be adopted into a file naming system which also uses things like job (project) identifier codes (i.e. project 172C) to categorize and track things like costing, logistics coordination and billing. I ask these things because it appears as though I am quite unintentionally relying upon Evernote as a capture and action-related tool due to the bulk of my ongoing work taking place outside of Evernote. At the same time, I see great utility in combining the two, and at the very least would like to develop a work process that naturally feeds one into the other (or back and forth between the two). Any advice or experience in this area is, of course, much appreciated. Thank you all in advance for your valuable input on these forums. Without your willingness to share your experiences, I would still be mired in the paper/digital hinterland with the lion's share of my colleagues. It has drastically changed the way I approach information and work.
