  1. When i try and install the web clipper add-on in Firefox 3.6.3 it gives me the error: Evernote Web Clipper 3.0.0.71760 could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 3.6.3. Evernote 3.5.3.1964 is installed on my computer and I am logged in. My computer is 64 bit Windows 7.
  2. I remember disabling it; now I want it back. How do I enable clipping of entire web pages using the web clipper add-on in Firefox? Thanks! Jerome
  3. Hello. Because I am Japanese, it is not good at English sentences. Please forgive me. I am using "Firefox3.5.7". The installation of "Web Clipper 3.0.0.65223" was tried several times. However, it doesn't succeed. An old version was tested. However, the result is the same. The installation work of "Add-on" succeeds. However, the installation is not done though "FireFox" is reactivated. The environment of my personal computer is as follows. ・Windows XP ・Professional ・Version 2002 ・Service pack 3 I am very embarrassed now. Someone, please solve this problem. I am using the translation software. Please teach in simple sentences.
  4. After weeks of Firefox hasseling me to download version 3.6, I finally gave in and now Evernote clipper will not re install. It's saying it's not compatible with this new version. I checked on the site and it does say it's compatible up to version 3.7, so I'm not too sure what the problem is. It's all very, very frustrating. Can someone please help me! Thanks
  5. Firefox Evernote Web Clipper 3.0.0.65223 Occasionally I get the German Error Box 'Kann Notiz nicht erstellen' (unable to build note) I cannot see a pattern for this error. Thank you, Ulf Cihak Nuernberg/Germany
  6. I just switched to Firefox 3.6 beta 3, and the Evernote Web Clipper became disabled. I re-enabled it (via Add-On Compatibility Reporter), and it all seems to work fine; I can clip from web pages just as I did in 3.5. Could you publish a new version with 3.6 enabled?
  7. I have some reports and other documents for several projects in Google Docs. I would like to associate these with a notebook in Evernote, so I can pull them up in the context of other relevant materials I've clipped. So far, I haven't found any elegant way to do it, and I've run into some issues using the Firefox extension / bookmarklet: - If I open the clip window on a Google Doc and check "clip full page", it grabs all the extraneous links and buttons and then seems to hit a character limit, as it doesn't actually get down to the content of the Doc. - If I highlight some or all of the content in the Google Doc first, the Clip window comes up, but displays "Loading Clip" in an h1 tag and then hangs. - If I open the clip window before highlighting anything, I can then manually copy and paste some or all of the Google Doc content into the "add text" box, but it's an annoying extra step and formatting is lost. So I guess I'll be moving forward with the third option, but I'm curious if there are known issues around clipping Google Docs, or perhaps workarounds that people have found? My ideal would be to share my Google Doc with an Evernote entity and then have the content of that Google Doc be searchable in Evernote...
  8. I use the webclipper bookmark a lot in FireFox v3.5.3 on several computers...it's very handy. But I consistently get inconsistent behavior in the tag autocomplete feature. That is, sometimes the autocomplete works and sometimes it doesn't. It's been doing this for a long time and I've not been able to discern any pattern to when the autocomplete feature will work and when it doesn't. When autocomplete doesn't work, it behaves as if my tag list is empty. I can still type in tags manually, but the autocomplete pop-up thing never happens...so I have to remember the spelling of each tag specifically. I can still use the Webclipper when the autocomplete doesn't work, it's just not as convenient. Do others have this problem, too? Since I get this behavior across multiple computers, I'm assuming others see the same thing. -- dgg
  9. The latest version of the Webclipper plugin for Firefox now sends clips to the online collection rather than the running Windows version on my machine. What is truly irritating about this change is that no matter which collection I designate as the target in the dialog which appears, the clip is saved in the default collection. Since this isn't what should happen I'm surprised I haven't been able to find any existing discussion about the problem - is no one else seeing this problem or am I missing something very obvious? I can see no simple way to work around this as there are no options settings for the plug-in and I cannot call up the dialog without trying to clip something first, which is a waste of time. Why can't the clipper just send it to the collection I have active in the version running on my machine, or to the collection I designate when the plug-in asks? Thanks for any help!
  10. I'm finding it difficult to work without a Web clip add-on for Firefox 3.5 Beta 4. Is there any chance of an update sometime soon, please? NF
  11. I'm running across this problem... I've reinstalled the extension many times but it save nothing but text. It's not really useful if you can't save a complete web page with stylesheets and images. Is that a bug or I'm missing something? Thanks
  12. My webclips don't seem to sync with the website completely when using the newest versions of web clipper or the FF extension. On the website, I see the new tags coming in, but the clips themselves are not loading. I'm connected through a proxy, but this doesn't seem to prevent the Windows desktop client from syncing properly. Not sure what changed recently on my end, but I'm quite sure the web clipper used to work before.
  13. Today, I encountered the same issue with my web clipper extension in Firefox on 2 separate machines, one a Mac, and the other a PC running Windows XP Pro. First, if you all included this as a "new feature" but I used to just click the little extension and it would automatically create a web version of the page I was on and place it into my Evernote notebook. Now, if I don't select anything, it comes up with a message about a "quick note," and if I actually want to save something I have to manually select it. I think this sucks, personally. I would at least like to see if there is a way to set up what I would like as a default - either the "quick note" or the "auto web clip." Second issue is a technical glitch that I experienced on both machines. After selecting text and creating a note, the back button on the browser no longer works. I have to manually go back to the home page of the website and navigate back to where I was. Let me know your thoughts and recommendations. Thank you, Eric
  14. My Firefox web clipper has recently started clipping to the web version of Evernote instead of the desktop version. I'd much rather clip to the desktop client, since it's faster and requires less clicking. I'm not sure whether it changed the last time Firefox updated itself or whether the change was pushed out by Evernote. I'm running Windows XP and the latest Firefox on multiple computers; it's occurred on all the computers in the last few days. Is there a way to specify where the web clipper sends things, or to return it to clipping to the desktop client?
  15. Hello: I can't seem to clip Hebrew text using IE7 . Here's what i get when I try it in Internet Explorer 7: , Using Firefox, Evernote shows this: אָכֵן מְיֻדָּעִי, זְנַחְתַּנִי מְאֹד עַד כִּי קְרָאתִיךָ: אֲבִי זָנוֹחַ. Is there a way to get this to get Evernote to work in IE 7 as well? I'm crossing over from Google Notebook to Evernote. Hebrew works perfectly fine in Google Notebook with either browser. Suggestions? Thanks in advance: -Eliuri Windows XP Pro IE7 Firefox 3.0.5
  16. Hello, First, I want to say that Evernote changes my IT life! Yesterday, I updated Evernote to the 3.0.0.981 version on my Windows XP computer. I use extensively the Web Clipper button on Firefox 3.0. Unfortunately, since this update, I've such a big problem. Before, when I clicked on the Web Clipper button, the web page (or the text selection) goes to the Windows application directly, like for a screenshot. But now, when I use the Web Clipper button, a pop-up appears and I have to register. If I put my login and my password, it creates a new note on the Website and not on the Windows soft... My question is: Is it a bug? If not, how I can change it? Thanks for your help/answer! -MATSYA- P.S : Because my English isn't as good as it should be, I will write it in French underneath. If some French people wants to improve what I wrote, please feel free to do it. -MATSYA-
  17. The Evernote WebClipper clearly has some sort of a bug in it's code, as evidenced by the fact that I am joined by several dozen other people on these forums who have not been able to get the Evernote WebClipper to properly store a cookie (so that when I enter my username and password, and make sure to check "Remember", it will remember me)...The unfortunate fact is, that it simply doesn't remember! If you search these forums for the words ("Firefox" + "Remember"), you will see that there are dozens of other users with the same exact problem...The Evernote admin consistently responds to these people by informing them that they must have somehow altered or changed their cookies settings from the default Firefox configuration...THIS IS NOT THE CASE!! I CAN ABSOLUTELY GUARANTEE YOU OF IT!!! Evernote is the one and only Firefox 3 add-on I use (in my collection of about 40+ add-ons) that is unable to store a cookie properly...EVERY SINGLE OTHER THIRD-PARTY FIREFOX EXTENSION, PLUG-IN, BOOKMARKLET, GREASEMONKEY SCRIPT, ETC THAT IN SOME WAY USES A COOKIE, WORKS JUST FINE AND ALWAYS HAS!!... Everything else that utilizes a cookie is able to store that cookie properly so that days and weeks will go by before I have to log-in again...The Evernote WebClipper is guaranteed to require that I log-in over, and over, and over (with approximately a 1-day maximum time frame between logins, regardless of the fact that I may be continually using the WebClipper in this 1-day time-frame)... THIS IS THE ONE MASSIVE ISSUE WITH THIS EXTENSION, AND WITH EVERNOTE AS A WHOLE...THIS PROBLEM ONCE AND FOR ALL NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED FOR THE GOOD OF ALL EVERNOTE USERS that use the WebClipper!!! PLEASE, admin, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE....FIX THIS ISSUE ONCE AND FOR ALL! I look forward to a resolution, if you can manage...Thanks! 18. Whenever I use clip to Evernote in Firefox (ver 3.03), I can't use the back page button. In other words, after clipping something to Evernote in Firefox, either using the web clipper button or the right mouse button, I can't return to the previous page. (Alt-left arrow also doesn't work.) This happens with the three computers that I have Firefox installed on. The back button is no longer functioning. (This does not happen with Internet Explorer, however.) Is there a fix for this? Not being able to go back a page after clipping a webpage or portion of a page into Evernote is a problem. Thanks.
  19. I like the webclipper that appeared on the navigation bar and clipped directly to the local client. Is that still available? Or was it replaced with the bookmarklet? Any reason they can't both be offered? Strange, I updated my Vista laptop last week and Firefox 3 got the clipper. I just now updated my Vista desktop and I did not get the clipper.
  20. I'm experiencing a new bug when I try to click to Evernote with highlighted text - if I'm already logged in. If I'm logged out it works fine. If I am logged in (password saved) - I get this image: Which means I can't assign tags, put in a notebook, etc. This is on Firefox 1.5 (work - can't upgrade!)
