  1. In order to change tab groups with the Firefox shortcut, I now have to disable Web Clipper. This is new with the latest update.
  2. More and more sites are dividing content onto multiple web pages. The worst offenders are "slide shows" (hate 'em). Any suggestions on how to organize/collapse these multiple pages into a single Evernote "clip"? Some sites used to provide a "print" page feature that would allow printing the entire article (and therefore could clip this single page), but now most seem to have discontinued this feature which made it easier on readers opting rather to maximize their page views...
  3. Can anyone help? Going slightly mad, trying to use Evernote Web Clipper. Firefox says it's installed, enabled but I don't see any clipper icon to do the clipping!! All help is v gratefully received.
  4. When i clip an article (a part of a web page), it is clipped correctly, but when i try and view it within evernote, it is only displayed in a very small window - perhaps 3 or 4 lines and there is no scroll bar to see the rest. I know the rest IS there, because if i try and select text and move the mouse down I am able to - in effect - "scroll". Any thoughts on what the problem is?
  5. Greetings, all... At the request of a client, I've tweaked the 5.1.0.241767 beta of the Firefox extension to install under SeaMonkey, on all previously supported platforms and added support for OS/2 (which is handled like Linux, but uses the same path separators as Windows). I've tested it under SeaMonkey 2.7.2 on OS/2 (eComStation 2.1), 2.9.1 on openSUSE 12.1, and 2.9.1 on Windows 2000 (I don't have a Mac handy at the moment). I'd like to submit the changes to Evernote for possible inclusion in official releases, but need approval as the code does not appear to be open source.
  6. To highlight text in Firefox or on the Mac Evernote app, I have to drag my cursor over the selected text and then push the highlight button each time. This is too tedious, since I make highlights throughout each news article. Is it possible to keep the highlight function working continuously, so each time I drag my cursor over text, it will highlight that text (this is how it works in Microsoft Word, which is much more convenient).
  7. I find webclipper a very useful tool but having to login to it every time I launch firefox is PITA. I have last pass but unfortunately I can use it for logging into webclipper because the login screen is a popup. Memorizing the login info is not useful because I use high security passwords generated by last pass. I can`t see a useful purpose for requiring a login for webclipper in the first place so I am hoping that EN may reconsider this inconvenient login feature.
  8. Web Clipper 5.9.1 Firefox 30.0 Windows 7, all patches installed Ever since I upgraded to Web Clipper 5.9.1, it hasn't worked on Firefox. When I click on Web Clipper, I get a momentary "Loading" message followed by the screen shown in the attached file. I've tried clicking on various places on that blank window, thinking that the text might be obscured for some reason but no luck. How do I fix this? If there's another thread on this problem, could someone point me to it?
  9. I often want to save just the title and URL of a page. (This is what "bookmark" has meant since the dawn of browsing!) This was easy in the previous version of Web Clipper but seems not to be possible now - is it? I don't want a page image, I don't want some of the page text - they are nearly always useless. If I want part of the article, I'll make a selection and clip it - that works fine and always has. Or, if I want a pretty-looking bookmark that I'm not going to edit I don't really need Evernote - I'll use Pocket or something. Now, the new note has weird embedding formatting and I have to delete the unwanted content or (sometimes and) clear the formatting from it, so that I can add my own text to the note (in Firefox web client). Or just delete it (on the Android client which doesn't have the "clear formatting" capability). If I just try typing after the clipped "bookmark", it's stuck on the right hand side with no spacing (as if the return key is ignored). This is a waste of time on nearly every bookmark note ... and Evernote is not where I choose to waste time. If it's not possible in 6.0.15, is there a chance of restoring the capability?
  10. I have been having this problem since the update to version 6. Firefox 37.0.1 Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.2 Web Clipper version 6.0.15 I have signed in multiple times. There is no "remember me" or "stay logged in" option that I've found in the preferences. Very frustrating. And as others have mentioned, there is now no Web Clipper option in my right-click contextual menu as there was previously.
  11. I recently upgraded Web Clipper to version 6. It would not work with FireFox so I went back to version 5.9. Now every day Firefox reinstalls version 6 with a file called evernote_native.bin. Anyone know how I can stop this from happening? Thank you. Source File: firefox.exe File Created: evernote_native.bin ____________________________
  12. After days of problems with Firefox instability, I've finally traced it to the Evernote add-on. It crashes Firefox if I have one or 30 tabs open on Yosemite. I have to disable it to be able to use Firefox. Is this a known incompatibility? Is someone working on this?
  13. Now when I do a Google search the results include some of my Evernote notes on the right side of the browser page. Is the webclipper sharing this info with Google, or is there some way my browser can display this without Google getting a look at it?
  14. having problems with simplified article clipping on some pages using 6.0.15 in Firefox 37.0.2 on 64-bit Windows 8.1 attached are two screen grabs of the dialog that pops up when it fails corresponding URLs are: http://www.fastcompany.com/3045076/tech-forecast/just-your-typical-new-mexico-image-recognition-startup-spun-off-from-a-governm EvernoteWebClipper-6.0.15_error_Wired.png http://community.ardour.org/node/8725 EvernoteWebClipper-6.0.15_error_Ardour.png similar, but not identical, messages -J
  15. Hi, whenever I try to clip an article, I receive the following error: EDAMUserException I can login from the webclipper without issue. I've tried: restarting the browser, uninstalling and reinstalling the add-on, and rebooting. No joy.
  16. The Evernote Web Clipper is not behaving. I get excited when I see it highlighting the article I wish to clip and then I accept it and clip I only get the top part of the article. Clicking on the + and - don't help either. Any ideas? Scott
  17. Went to save an article and noticed the web clipper has changed on Firefox. There is no more clipping a selection option?
  18. Hi, when I select text/pic etc . to be clipped from the web the highlight colour is blue which makes the text hard to read on my phone, is ther any way to remove the hilight after clipping? Excellent product by the way
  19. I tried the Webclipper beta group, but it appears deserted and nobody ever "approved" my join request. When I used the new web clipper, the highlight areas did not match up with the screen. It appears that it does not understand that the window is "zoomed", and sure enough it was OK when I set the zoom down to 100% (a.k.a. "very tiny for a high-res screen"). That is a serious problem that affects usability. I have a hard time understanding how that can even happen let alone go unnoticed before letting others try it. If it's something about my machine, I'll be happy to provide details to the developers. The UI itself: The [+][-] buttons don't take clicks, and the keyboard help has gone from "read fast and try and remember" to non-existent. Hint: the + and - keys don't do anything, even though that's what is suggested by the affordances. Has anyone looked at the Print Edit addon by DW-Dev? It works and does the same thing that we want the clipper to do.
  20. It's been like this for a long time, but it wasn't always. I've either had to destroy the formatting completely, put up with it and squint, or give up and forget about it unless I happen to think of it when I'm on my phone (which is not great for long articles). All of the work arounds destroy the text; Ctrl-+ squishes it all together, 'Simplify Formatting' turns it into an eye-boggling mess. It looks fantastic on a tablet, of course. I no longer have a tablet. I save articles to read later and most of the time I would be doing that is on a desktop, not crunching my neck down staring at my phone for more than a few minutes at a time. Is there anything we can do, to bring back webclipping to a usable state for desktop users? It wouldn't be so bad if I still had a tiny monitor, but Evernote itself is designed for widescreens these days as it is. Example: Web Page: Initial Webclip: Attempts to manually adjust text size after clipped via Ctrl-+ Giving in and using Simplify Formatting: (it doesn't look so bad here, but when looking at the bulk of any article like this it makes reading very frustrating, where as the formatting is great on mobile devices)
  21. Tried to intall web clipper to Firefox. Got a popup that said Firefox was unable to modify the needed file. What file, and where do I unblock it? I've been using Clearly for years, but hate that I can't file as I clip.
  22. Hello, great work you´ve done with the new WebClipper in Firefox!! The organization in the folder-structer is absolut mega great!!! One desire i have: At the top on the left side (or on another place:) ) of the WebClipper a link to "MyEvernote"!!! Then the WebClipper is perfect to me. One click to my Evernote from the WebClipper - with no Login-Screen! - Automatically login to my Evernote - with ONE click! That would be really nice:) Make this possible in the options, that i can automatically login (30 days or so....) - if this is a safety aspect. But after all - great work with the folder-structure! For a few days, i thought OneNote is an alternative to Evernote - but with the new WebClipper..... OneNote-Clipper is Years behind after Evernote-WebClipper. Whats must i do to get acces to the Forum "Web Clipper Beta"? I get the message: "You do not have permission to view this forum. In some cases joining this Social Group will give you permission to view this forum." But i want to try yout Beta-Apps. Thank you very much Best regards George
  23. Hello, Having just performed a "Refresh Firefox" (current version 35.0), I installed the Web Clipper extension and this is how the dialog looks: What's going on? Thanks for your help.
  24. Evernote is oriented around a collection of notebooks, so obviously when I clip something from the web, it should ask what notebook I want to put the clipping in, right? Yet I see no such prompt or option. There is an oddly phraased option to always put clips into "current or default noteook," whatever that might mean, but that's not at all helpful. Is there some way to get it to prompte me to designate the notebook for each clip? The alternative seems suboptimal and downright absurd, I.e., to remember to move the clips out of the arbitrary notebooks they've been stuck into and put them in the right ones. Thanks very much. Sonoma Mann
  25. Evernote clipper has always worked fine for me, but recently I have noticed that whenever I try to clip something clipper zooms in on the page and I end up with only half a screen to clip. Usually the thing I want to clip is now no longer visible on the screen. Is this a clipper bug or do I need to change some settings ? Thank you.
