  1. I read some requests for tabs. Especially, tabs that represent each note within a notebook. Evernote is very searchable and makes it easy to find anything in even the most vast collection of notebooks. But, tabs (that represent notes in a notebook) would really support the way I work. I do a lot of research and have to flip back and forth to different notes within a notebook. Having the option to view notes as tabs would really make my work w/in Evernote much more manageable. It works for web browsers Good idea for a product that has access to the EN API maybe?
  2. The new beta experience is sub par. In fact, it's worse off. It feels like you made a good product look pretty just because you could. The functionality is less efficient, navigating around my notes/notebooks feels cumbersome, and generally I agree that less is more, but it seems like you went too far with going "less". On that note, I want to make a comment about the experience of trying to use tables. It's very hindering that we cannot edit the tables after they are created. The auto-sizing of the columns is downright horrendous. For example, I use Size-Up on my Mac, and resizing the window smaller makes the table smaller, fine. However, making the window take up the full screen again does not put the table width back to 100%, as it was before. I read somewhere that Evernote doesn't want to take over, or compete (or whatever), with more robust note taking software. But let's be real, I would bet that there are a lot of people that want Evernote to do just that. Why hold back on features that are very helpful (damn near essential) for people that want to use your product? I will admit, however, that the aesthetic look/feel of the beta is nice. But the functionality went completely the wrong way. I'd rather have something that works well, than looks nice. Overall, I don't understand why Evernote is holding itself back.
  3. Im on Samsung Galaxy Note 2 android 4.3 and I'm not able to edit or delete tags from the tag menu. Please add the basic feature of editing tags and deleting them from the tags menu that is available in windows. mac and even ios! Ability to select multiple notes to group tag them is also a much need feature. The latest update made the app very clean but there is still room for improvement. It will be awesome if we were able to receive the feature updates at the same time as ios. Ability to change theme would also be nice.
  4. Hi guys, just wanted to drop several hints to get loads of money including my Premium subscription for the following years (if I don't switch to OneNote because you fail at catching up) 1) Windows Desktop client needs a functional Word-like text editor. Just look at how OneNote does it: multimedia content can be shifted around with adaptive layoutformatting tools are consistent & don't lose formatting across platform2) Windows Desktop client needs a corkboard environment, even if on a separate section. Just look at Scrivener or Springpad: they do it, it works, it helps figuring out things with small sticker notes (COLORS PLS, VIRTUAL POST-ITS, markers, etc.) before writing up longer stuff. 3) WebClipper needs to be able to clip stuff directly inside A SPECIFIC NOTE without destroying its formatting of course, but also maintaining its text/image original content. Again, OneNote does it and it's awesome. 4) Dictation is complete *****. Work on it. 5) Windows Phone app has pretty much the same functionalities of my sms client. Ramp it up AT LEAST to Android standards. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE ULTIMATE SUGGESTION THAT WILL PROJECT YOUR COMPANY IN THE OLYMPUS OF STARTUPS & MAKE U LOADS OF MONEY: 6) Z O T E R O INTEGRATION: Zotero is open source and free, and LOADS of academics use it - just let us include dynamic citations with a Zotero plugin and we can ditch Word, Office and other MS bullshit, and just keep our writing cycle all inside Evernote. If you just worked for one year on the mentioned points, ditching social bullshit and food apps, Evernote can become the ultimate productivity notetaking app, make people forget the temptation of OneNote & push you up into universities&colleges and I'm giving you all this intel for FREE. do it
  5. Here is an article that I wrote about evernote in a world of artificial intelligence. I hope you enjoy it.
  6. The Evernote community should ring in on features that could improve the reading experience for articles, reports, and other long reads. I use Evernote to save articles, especially long articles, that I want to read later. So when I am in transit, going to bed, or just in the mood for a good read, I can find the articles that I saved for later reading. The offline notebooks included in the Premium account was one of the main features that convinced me to subscribe. I usually use Clearly or Web Clipper to save articles to my "Unread" notebook, and then I switch them to "Read" or another notebook after I've finished reading. There are a few small changes that I would suggest to improve the reading experience, especially on mobile devices: Night Mode: I'd love the opportunity to switch to reading on a dark background. Bookmarks: It's often difficult for me to pick up where I left off. I would use a quick bookmark feature a lot. Read/Unread?: Using notebooks for read and unread has worked well for me. One could also use tags. Is there another way to flag a note as read/unread? Should there be? That's all. I'd love to hear from other people about how they use Evernote for reading and also give suggestions for improvements. * Thank you to the developers for the great work that you all do. I love love love Evernote.
  7. It would be great if Evernote added the ability to input multiple authors into note info.
  8. Hi Friends, My first post! Is there an area in this forum for Feature Requests? I couldn't find one and before I "polluted" a topic I thought I'd ask. Cheers, Mike
  9. Hello, I love the "outline view" in Pages and Microsoft Word. I find seeting up a page with heading, subheading, and point form notes very cumbersome in Evernote, to the point that I thought it might be easier to make an outline in a word processor, and import it in. A different suggestion is for the viewing mode. I know you can have drop down menus in the left bar, but it would be helpful if you could see all the levels at once: Stacks, Notebooks, and Individual notes all in one flow. There does not appear to be an option for that, and there is lots of room for it, even on my little macpro 13" screen. I hope this is helpful!
  10. Hi: I just upgraded to Premium and haven't used Evernote in over a year - I really need to get into Evernote. On a Mac, using Safari, I immediately see some differences between the client and web application - the app on the iPhone is another matter. Which do you prefer and why - web or client? I know this is a super-gereral question, but I would appreciate the thoughts and observations of seasoned vets. If you can point me to video or other links that address this issues, I'd be grateful. Thank you for your time and patience. Me
  11. Hello everyone, I'm not sure this is the right forum for this question, but here it goes: Does anyone know of a way to insert comments to a note (before or after cliiping it to evernote) I saw you can use the text tool to write over a screen shot, but it cannot be used to write on an article / full page clipping (unlike highliting, for instance). Is there a way i'm not familiar with? Thank you, h.
  12. I've seriously been thinking of switching over to Evernote premium. Recently I decided to give android a try, and so far I like it with one problem. It feels like some features I like in Evernote for iOS aren't there for android. Is there an idea why? I know device fragmentation is a problem for developers but it doesn't seem like it would be so much for a company like Evernote. Any ideas?
  13. Hello all, I'm planning on nixing my Evernote Business account (in favor of just the regular paid version), but before I did I put a post together related to things I wish were improved/features I'd like to see. Would love to hear what others thought of the ideas, either in this thread, or in the blog comments. http://www.patrickgarmoe.com/evernote-business-improvements/
  14. Hello dear developers, thanks for making such a nice app, it helps me much with my study. Having been using it for a while, I think a reading mode is needed. The app is now easy to write notes, but not convenient for reading. I must pay high attention when I'm reading the notes I've written because if I touch the notes accidentally the contents will be modified. If there is a reading mode, that I can read the notes like ibooks, flipping pages using swipe, it would be great. I don't need to pay much attention to carefully tap the corner to get to the next page or accidently modify the notes. This will certainly make it very effective.
  15. Hi, I would like to see an ability to add subnotes (similar to one note). Right now, I have a note which contains an idea. When I see something online that's relevant to my idea, I use the Clip app to save the site as a note. But then, I can't contain that clip note as a separate note AND show a form of hierarchy to the original idea. So instead I have 2 sperate notes linked by the same tag. But, it feels too disorganized this way. Maybe there is a more efficient way of organizing than what have described that is already available? Let me know if there is. If not, please add this feature! Thanks.
  16. It would be great if Evernote supported color coding for notebooks and offered multiple colors within the highlight function (rather than yellow only). This seems like such a basic thing but it would aid significantly in organizing topics and groups.
  17. Hello all, Am checking out the EN Business HD video to get a feel for what it can offer. Would anyone have a checkbox feature comparison between the Premium and Business versions? thanks, MIke
  18. I will continue to support Evernote. I'm a long-time user, and have watched Evernote evolve. As it becomes more complex and sophisticated, it *does* (must) load a bit more slowly. I must suggest that an essential feature for me is that Evernote load *quickly* for an off-the-cuff memory or note. A lightweight thought I may want to record. This is the way Evernote started. For, example, sync purposes, I find that Evernote becomes responsive for my input a bit (or sometimes substantially) more slowly than in "the old days". Keep it sleek.
  19. 1. When taking photos on mobile device, it would be nice to be able to see the photo taken to decide whether to retake or use. 2. When sending an email of note(s), it would be nice to see a list of the attachments in the email or header, before sending the email.
  20. I have been an Evernote user for more than a year and although I find the service very useful, there are some things that might make things even better. If I would need to summarize the issues in 1 word - I would say "synchronization". There is lack of synchronization between the features in the iPad app and does of the PC version. The main drawbacks of each one are features existing in the other: Evernote 5 for iPad There is a strange bug which causes the tag list to be 'blacked' when editing new tags in a note. you can see your tags, but you need to scroll to the top of the screen to do so. Try editing a tag (with the ! icon) and see what I mean. for some reason the search option only search text within a message (or in its title) doesn't search tags! This seemed as a real bug, since the aim of tags is to help identify items. This is different behavior than the PC app - since it will search tags there.Web clipper for iPad - when ? Evernote for PC (4.5..) Allowing right to left writing - this is extremely important for Hebrew/Arabic users, especially when it is enabled in the iPad version. Highlighting paragraphs - when researching information, it is important to be able to highlight text sections that include important information. This option appear in the iPad app but doesn't exists in the PC version. Itayo
  21. Hi, I've been wondering for a while what's the best way to send positive feedback to Evernote. I ask because I use various clients across a bunch of devices, and they all run slightly differently, but every now and then I notice that one does something much better than the others or something that was awful with that client is now a ton better. I know how to send service requests for when something appears to be broken, but does anyone know what the best ways are to let Evernote know that something's been fixed and you like it? I'm a premium member if that matters.
  22. I'd love if EN would either hardwire an "Invisible" tag completely hiding any notes which were tagged with it, until the show/hide feature were turned off. Of course if I were really dreaming I might choose to add this feature to custom tags or indivitual notes, but I think hard-wiring it would be the easiest way. I'd definitely kickstart it with a few shekels if given the opportunity! How much could this cost to develop?
  23. Hi guys, I'm looking to "highlight" text using a background colour (much like you would with a physical highlighter - is this possible? If not, can I suggest it for a future version please?
  24. I get a variety of email that I funnel to Evernote for future reference. Generally this involves, 1) forwarding something from my email inbox to evernote 2) when the note posts on Evernote, I tag it accordingly. I would like to be able to use 'pre-processor' commands so that the note when emailed to evernote (step 1), would eliminate the second step. Something like #tag:tag1 #tag:tag2 #notebook:DailyNotes The '#' can work as a pre-processor command for evernote. . this would save me a great deal of time since I would not have to in essence go to Evernote. It should also save a lot of processing time on the Evernote servers, since I then don't have to go to evernote, open the note, tag it, move it to an appropriate notebook & then sync it.
