  1. Hi all, I wanted to provide a update regarding changes to the minimum Android OS requirements for the upcoming Evernote 8.0 for Android release. When Evernote 8.0 for Android is released, users on Android version 4.x (KitKat) and lower, will no longer be able to upgrade to new versions of Evernote. As a workaround, users can upgrade their version of Android on their device to Lollipop or higher. Why are we stopping support of Android OS 4.x? The more versions of Android we support, the more difficult it is to make product changes. What’s the user experience for users on 4.x versions when there is a new app release? Users will not see updates in the store. For example, if a 4.x user is on an Evernote version lower than 8.0, they will only ever see that 8.0 version in the Play Store. Hopefully, this helps provide some clarification for these changes!
  2. When moving notes and notebooks, if you even momentarily move the cursor over any stack it immediately expands. So while dragging your cursor over the list (while trying to locate the target for your notebook or note), you might open two or three inadvertently. This means you have to scroll all the way past it to find the stack or notebook you want. The inadvertently opened stack(s) then remain open and need to be closed to tidy things up. This would be resolved by adding a very short delay before expanding a stack.
  3. The feature "scroll past end" exists in the Atom text editor and I love it. It allows to scroll past the end of the last line. It makes writing more comfortable because we're not stuck writing on the bottom of the screen. This would be great on Evernote Web. Here's a quick video showing how "scroll past end" works in Atom.
  4. How can I insert tables in Evernote for iOS? Is there a work around that would allow me to insert tables? Thanks!
  5. I would like to have a switch in the sharing extension for iOS that allows me to not only save a full web page but optionally the cleaned up version of that page instead. Just like the way you can save only the content of an article in the Mac browser extensions and not the litter (mostly ads or comments).
  6. Hi Folks - We’re making our new Evernote Web experience available for users to try today. What makes it so shiny and new you ask? We’ve spiffed things up to create more consistent design and interactions across web and other platforms. With the ‘Shared with me’ view, you can now easily see all of the notes and notebooks that have, well, been shared with you. We’ve done some work under the hood to improve search results, so things will now be ordered by relevance instead of date updated. Coming soon to a web experience near you: You may be missing reminders and a tags view, but don’t worry; we’re adding functionality to this new world as we go, so some of your favorite features are still to come. Want in? All you have to do is go to ‘Settings’ and click the ‘Use the new web beta’ link. Give it a spin and then send us any feedback you have by using with ‘Feedback’ button. If the changes aren’t your cup of tea, no worries. You can turn back the clock by navigating to ‘Account’ and clicking on ‘Switch to previous version of Evernote’. New Web Experience
  7. Dear Evernote iOS development team, Please include nested tags / hierarchy into the iOS version! I finally made the move to become a premium user after discovering the the usefulness of tag nesting / hierarchy in organising notes on the Mac Evernote. Just about to port all my notes into evernote, then I realised the iOS version can't see the nested / heirarchy structure !! aagh and I've just paid for a whole year subscription ...bummer~ I understand there are tonnes of requests out there, but this seems to be a crucial notes organisation feature to be considered for inclusion? Please add this feature in line with the desktop apps please? My setup: Mac Evernote (on iMac) - for work at home iOS 8 Evernote (on iPad + keyboard) - for taking notes during work and conferences.
  8. Our entire office has been getting notifications that our "disk is almost full" on our Macbook Pros separately over the past month or two. During an EV chat this morning, we learned how to locate the Evernote database on our Macs. Across our 14 users, we have anywhere from 55GB to 92GB of storage being used by Evernote alone, which is at least 30% of our computer storage space. Could you please advise if there are any options to reduce the local storage size? Can any items be deleted locally and still function at full capacity? Can we localize data to a single office server? Is this something specific to Apple Macbooks? Was there a recent EN release that altered the back-up system? We have concerns about future company growth if this is our data files size already within 5 years.
  9. I see a little horizontal blue line underneath the modification date on some notes in various lengthts. It looks like a progress bar. See screenshots. What is this? Evernote Version 6.12.3 (455520 Direct) on El Capitan
  10. I've been waiting for Evernote to add this feature for years. This is what I would love: 1. A button within the note that enables full-screen mode. This mode removes EVERYTHING except the words. Moving your mouse will make editing tools visible. 2. Full-Screen Mode also has margin and line-height functionality. That's it! Please Evernote! Please make this change to our desktop app!
  11. I don't attach a lot of documents to my notes, but I've attached a few pdfs, and they usually show up in the note fulltext, so you can read them without opening them. I dragged a Word document into a note yesterday (a syllabus for one of my classes) and since then, every time I try to quit the program I get an error that says "A file attachment may be currently open in another application." Word is open on my machine, but the file isn't. The attachment shows up in the note as an icon, not the actual text of the document (I can quick-look it, but that's all). I did a forum search and only found one thread from someone who said the error started appearing when he tried to close EN once while the file actually WAS open in another application -- it wasn't clear whether he ever solved the problem. I'd like the stop getting the error, and also to see the document's text in the note. Any ideas?
  12. Location of Evernote Data Folder for EN Mac To locate your Evernote Data folder for your account, goto Evernote > About Evernote, and HOLD down the OPT key to get a link to “Open database folder”: Click on this link to open the Mac Finder to this folder The Finder is showing the EN data folder for the current EN account that you are logged in to on your Mac The top level Evernote folder, which is up a few levels, is: “com.evernote.Evernote”. For the Direct D/L version, the Parent Folder is: ~Library:Application Support For the App Store version, there are apparently two top level folders that would need to be replaced if doing a restore from backup: ~/Library/Containers/com.evernote.Evernote ~/Library/Containers/com.evernote.EvernoteHelper Note that, unlike EN Win, EN Mac stores its data in a combination of SQLite database and files/folders. Use the top level Evernote folder for backup purposes.
  13. When you open an existing note in Evernote Android, the edit button appears in bottom right corner. Is there a way to turn this feature on/off? I am aware that it will become easier to create mistakes with unwanted editing. Thanks, Chris
  14. I think that Evernote should add tables on the iOS app. I am a student and I use tables a lot with my pc, so I don’t understand why I can’t use them with my iPad when I am at school. They represent an incredible way to put things in order and I think they would improve the user experience a lot. Don’t you think so?
  15. I use the Quick Note feature in the menubar all of the time, why can't I add Tags to the notes that I create? or choose the relevant Notebook? It's part of the web clipper, why is it not part of this feature? Is it because of some technical limitation? Otherwise this a really obvious omission, that hasn't been addressed for a long time, especially as Evernote is fundamentally built around tagging and notebooks! I hope it can be implemented, as without it I'm having to use this annoying, inelegant, 2 step workaround: 1) Start every Quick Note with "TAG TAG TAG TAG!!" as the first line, so it stands out to be processed during those times when I actually do need to fire up the full Evernote app (I know I can search for notes without tags, but I have to remember to do that, rather than be reminded by something that immediately stands out from the rest of my notes). 2) Process the notes by deleting the "TAG TAG..." line, cutting and pasting the title from the note into the title field, adding tags, and changing the notebook if ness. Then repeat! This all becomes pretty laborious over time. Please, Evernote Team, find a way to add the following: The same syntax that we use when sending notes by email into Evernote (#tag @notebook) Or Dedicated fields, with keyboard shortcut (control-tab?) to navigate to them Or Both options (preferred) You have produced a vital and fantastic piece of software that is a central part of my digital world (and I'm not blowing smoke here, I seriously love it, well done), and I want to be clear that I realise I'm focussing on one small issue with what is otherwise a very complete and well thought out product and service! However, the issue is important and annoyingly lacking.
  16. Hi, We are all used to super strong Google search engine and I'm missing its power in Evernote. Most of the time the most relevant note is not included in the search or is very low in the list of search result, despite the keyword is in the title! I know I can use special queries but wouldn't it be much faster and user friendly if I could just use the plain fulltext like on Google?
  17. I searched and didn't see this feature request. last night on the tube I selected some text and was nudged ... all the selected text was deleted I know I can go to the laptop app and recover - provided I pay for Premium - however surely an undo button would make sense. I hardly ever use my laptop so an in-app function would help
  18. I wish that when I select a font color that same font color remains as my favorite at least available for all my notes. Perhaps if I can make it default under the tools, options menu. Thanks for listening.
  19. Hi, I used to have an icon on my Evernote for Android widget that started a speech to text note (as distinct from an audio recording). It doesn't appear to be there any more, anyone know why? Is there something I need to enable on the phone to bring it back (Samsung Galaxy S5).
  20. I'm using OSX 10.9. I use multiple virtual desktops and like to keep an evernote window open in only one of them. Recently when I switched to another desktop, the evernote window stays in front, and basically comes with me when I switch to another desktop using mission control, or swiping. Can anyone offer any advice/help? Thanks in advance.
  21. I would really like to have a hotkey that would delete a note. What I would like is to make the letter 'd' a hotkey that deletes a note. It would really speed up workflow, as I already have my left hand on the keyboard and if I could delete notes by hitting 'd' on the keyboard it would be really useful for me. What are the possible ways I can do this? It sure would be quicker than right clicking, or reaching for the delete key..... If Autohotkey is the only way to do this, I would need the script to insert... Appreciate any help!
  22. Today I noticed for the first time that the Web beta is removing the background colors of tables. Is this a new development? I hadn't been aware of it before. It's rather distressing for those of use who use colored tables to get around the problem of the glaring white background of notes.
  23. Hi, I read my notes by "created" from older to newer. In Windows I can do it. But in Android I can not find this option? Is there a way?
  24. So often I need to add a new row into a table. Is there a way for me to do that on the iPad app?
  25. Hello. This might sound a little stupid, but I really believe it could help some people. I suggest that a small arrow or whatever kind of notification appear somewhere in the note (lower left corner, for example) IF the note has text in it below the observable area. I know, I know, you can just scroll. But, if you are a user like me, that writes long notes, that require a lot of scrolling to go through, and you delete a whole section that could end up leaving a huge blank space, it would save a lot of time and sorrow (because you delete the note after a while thinking you have no more text in it). Just a small icon or something that would just let you know, by just seeing it "Hey, if I am here that means you have more text below". Thanks!
