  1. I use Web Clipper to save articles to a curated content folder for my admin to schedule and post onto social media. I usually write a comment for the social posting in the Remark section. I would like the Remark box to be able to be expanded so I can proof-read my comment before sending it to Evernote.

  6. When I joined Evernote customer club many years ago, it was unique and innovative. And during these years you managed to maintain highest level of user satisfaction. So what's wrong now? Why to remove the tool, actively used by many - smart and rational? Obviously, keeping Atlas doesn't involve too additional level of effort. Fellow Evernote users, I urge you to support this actively, as Evernote got big enough to listen to few users opinion.

Hi, I have just upgraded to Evernote business from a personal premium account and am coming across a few issues with the desktop app. I have deleted a few notebooks from my admin panel on the web app, yet the notebooks (with no notes) still show on the desktop app when they shouldn't, as I deleted them from the web app. I have synced all notes and notebooks. The phone and the web app show my folder structure correctly as intended. Yet on the two computers I use the business account, there are extra folders present that were deleted in the web app. These folders that remain are actually different on each of the two desktops, the same "old" folders are different on each device yet either way they should be deleted. I also uninstalled the desktop app and reinstalled them yet the same folders showed up again. I can't delete them on the desktop app as it/s a business account. I have tried moving them to a different stack (tried to make a "to delete" stack with these folders), and they won't move - assuming because they don't actually exist. How do I fix this so it shows what is in the web app, as I intended?
  8. I have Evernote setup with notebooks and tags running down the left hand pane. I organise my day jumping through through these tags quickly and frequently to answer questions like: "what .Active Projects do I have that are @Work, from Paul, and prioritized as 2-Next". It looks like there is no way I can CMD+click to select multiple tags at the same time? Constructing separate search arguments each time I want to jump between tag combinations massively slows down my workflow and seems an unnecessarily laborious way of achieving what should be a simple task. Is there some reason why the app engineers chose to end support the Mac global standard of CMD+click to select multiple items at the same time? I'm guessing I'm probably not the first person to ask for this... Cheers!
  9. I use Evernote daily & haven't encountered this problem before, but while typing additional details into a note, it suddenly started overwriting previous text. So now I can only type new text. I cannot go back and add to what's already there or correct a typo. It is not the "Insert" key doing this. As you click a letter to place the cursor there, it no longer blinks, it highlights the letter. Normally, if this happened by accident, simply hitting the left or right arrow keys would resolve this and you can type away. But this now only highlights the next or previous letter. This is extremely frustrating as well as time consuming & I don't know how to make it stop doing this. Did I accidentally turn this feature on or is this a glitch?
  10. Many times per day, the "Create a Space" window appears when I Command-Tab to switch back to Evernote. It's crazy-making. I click the back button, but it doesn't go away. The only way to get rid of it is to close the entire window and then do "New Window" from the File menu to start over with my normal Evernote window. I wish I could attach the screen shot, but basically it's the entire Evernote screen. Anyone else seeing this? Is it on a bug list? I'd email Evernote support, but for some reason I can't log in on the site to do so due to our Evernote business account using the Okta verification.
  11. How to make my work computer to open evernote links in Chrome with Evernote desktop application? Long story below: I'm using the same Chrome user both at home and at work. All my extensions and settings are identical and synced. I have Evernote web clipper plugin in both. Home computer uses Win 8.1 and is doing what I want, work computer has Win 7 and doesn't do it. I want that when I open a link like this: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s3/nl/237001/232d6d1e-11b5-40f3-aa53-f278f070f5a7, my computer would open it in browser and then suddenly change to my desktop application. That's the behaviour I expect and that's how my home computer does the job (I'm using https://calendar.sunrise.am/ , where I can just click "View on evernote"). Tried playing with the file: C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Local State and adding: "protocol_handler": { "excluded_schemes": { <...> "evernote": false,At my home computer it's like the above, at work computer there was no "evernote" line at all. Tried setting it false, true, removing - no difference. So, I know that it's possible, because it's working from the home computer.
  12. So this is a long standing issue which does not seem to attract the attention of Evernote dev team so I'm trying to see how many others still have this issue too, and what may we do about it. Basically, I think any user of the desktop version (not the new beta) would agree that the web version (classic or new) is much more crippled in comparison. You cannot edit attachments (e.g., to annotate PDFs), merge notes, etc. There are two 'outstanding' bugs. The first is that the button "Copy Internal Link" does not do what Ctrl + Alt + L does, despite labelling the latter as a shortcut of the former. If you use the button in the Context Menu, it yields a "https://www.evernote.com/shard/" link, which does not open in browser, unless you paste that in another Evernote note (and then copy that again). As other users have pointed out, this is a great impediment to users' workflows which incorporate other apps, like OneNote, Todoist, etc. Internal links (a la evernote:///view/) can only be generated by clicking Ctrl + Alt + L. evernote:///view/ (Of course, one may argue that this is "by design", because "internal" doesn't mean "desktop" and can include an https link. Well...) Relatedly, the second issue is opening https links in the desktop app. Contrary to some forum users' claims that this is by design, this used to be a feature, until the development team took away the enAppInstalled cookie, perhaps with a view to forcing users to open links in the web-app instead of the desktop app. (The development team, in my collection and I would be happy to be corrected, has not explained why the cookie was removed.) I think supposedly, another Chrome/Chromium extension can be written which automatically parses and converts https:// links to evernote:// links (the two links use similar elements). But, of course, if there can be an official solution, this would not be necessary.
  13. I was trying to open the windows Beta version and it gives me a blank page. Checking for updates didn't work. I downloaded what I found to be the latest update on the forums but it wouldn't install because "it's already installed" so I uninstalled and tried again after restarting, still cannot install. I contacted support I was advised to "Enable Beta ..." in Tools > Options > General and then recheck for updates (in the regular evernote), no updates still. I have now uninstalled Beta and only have the regular Evernote.
  14. Many people have been waiting for this for a long time, and a plethora of competitor products provide this option. The fact that other apps offer it must mean that there are no legal issues with this feature, so why not just add it? Let's be clear, that right now any annotation feature that doesn't work with encrypted PDFs is semi useless.
  15. I have been an EN user since Beta, and became a Premium user as soon as it was offered. I do not understand why EN is lagging with simple security options, such as easy encryption of notes and notebooks. This really should be as easy as a Right-Click or selection in properties for a Note or Notebook. The existing method of selecting text in a note and then using a Right-Click option to encrypt it is cumbersome at best. Yes, it is a nice feature if one wants to encrypt only a portion of a note. That's fine. But there should be an easy way to (1) encrypt an entire note without selecting text and (2) encrypt an entire notebook. I would be willing to pay a few bucks extra a year for this additional encryption ability. Seems this should be a no-brainier for EN, both as a tech matter and as a business/profit matter.
  16. I might be using Evernote wrong, so if you are able to select a set of notes and want to add a common keyword TAG to them PLEASE let me know how it is done. Currently I have to open each note and tag them individually. Feature Request: Allow adding of a TAG to multiple notes. Please allow the ability to search on a group of notes, manually select the ones you want to and add a common tag to by either text entry, drop down or drag to give each note the same tag. Currently I have to open them one at a time to give them a tag. In the help section please associate "keyword" with tag as that is how some users think about tags - as keywords to search on.
  17. When annotating a PDF that is embedded in a note, the highlight option only provides access to free-hand highlighting. This results in messy highlights and doesn't really fulfill the needs of the tool. Is there any way to simply highlight text that has been selected?
  18. All my notebooks are fully downloaded and with and iphone 7 and ipad 10.5 2017 some notes (maybe every fifth note) take 30 seconds to display. I just get a spinning circle in the middle of the note. Like I said every single notebook is fully downloaded and even if they weren't I just did a speed test and my connection is fast. Anyone else?
  19. There's a big feature missing in evernote shared notebooks. There should be a feature of getting notifications and alerts when someone edits a share note or notebook.
  20. Dear experts, I need help please.. total noob here. I can't seems to get Copy Note Link shortcut to work anymore in Mac. I don't know what's wrong. On my Macbook Pro, i will hold down the "fn + control + option + command + C" keys and it works. On the Logitec K850 bluetooth keyboard. I tried pressing "ctrl + fn + alt opt + cmd + C" keys, "ctrl + alt opt + cmd + C" and it doesn't work. Is it a keyboard problem? or Evernote problem? Confused haha

I had signed up for the trial Business Evernote account from Premium- I transferred notebooks, created spaces, etc. And when the trial ran out, instead of charging me for a business account and converting my premium to business, my account was deactivated. There is no option for "Reactivate Account" when I try to log in, like help articles say there is. Any advice?

Just submitted a support request, but I thought the assembled brains here might have some experience to share - I'm seeing a 'tidying up the notes in your account' banner in Evernote for Windows 6.24.2 ever since I used the extended help menu a few days ago. Quick background - I went through the 50K notes barrier a month or so ago (actually now 50,607 total) since when the app tends to freeze for 30 seconds or longer at random times... usually just after I start to use it for something. I've got the complete fix-list of recreating databases / fiddling with settings / increasing available memory / SSD's / firewalling the server etc (though it's disk activity that goes wild, not internet traffic), but I also have a few things I need to get done, so I wanted to try the optimise options in Help first. Scarily I can't remember whether I used Optimize Database or Recreate Full Text Search Index option, but ever since I have this blue banner on screen which starts at 0% and winds up to around 50% during the day. I shut down my laptop each night to make sure that everything is closed, because I never know whether I'll be working on this laptop the next day - I need some apps (including Evernote) to be synced and available to unlock from elsewhere if necessary. When I open up again, we're back at 0%. I don't know if that means we're starting again from scratch, or that this is a measure of the notes left to process - which means that in a few days the banner should get to 100% quite quickly and disappear. If need be I can leave the laptop running and close everything else down. So if anyone has any clues as to how this works I'd be grateful for pointers... Thanks in advance for any help! 🙂 (If it's relevant the OS is Windows 10 1709 - this laptop is steam-powered!)
  23. I am trying to export a local notebook. It all goes well but after the export procedure seems to have processed all the notes in the notebook I get the following message: "The file “content.enml” couldn’t be opened because there is no such file." I can find no way to solve or remove this problem. Eventually, after not getting anything useful from Evernote, I tried exporting the local notebooks one at a time and found that the problem was with only one notebook with a large number of notes. I went through that notebook selecting 250 notes at a time and exporting them until I got the same problem as I reported above. By gradually breaking that batch down into ever smaller batches I was able to isolate a note causing the problem. It was an empty note with the title Screenshot. When I deleted that note the batch exported without problem. So I searched through the remaining notes in the notebook for similarly titled notes and found about a dozen. Deleted them all and the problem went away. I’m not sure what produces empty notes with the Screenshot title, but I suspect it is one of the screen clipping options in the dropdown menu for the elephant symbol in the top bar. The fact that it was only notes in that one notebook (titled !_InBox) where things directed to Evernote are saved makes me think that this has arisen from a program update issue at some stage. This notebook had 800+ notes in it and I haven’t sorted them into the relevant folders for a very long time, so (given that I’ve now deleted those notes) it isn’t possible to identify the time period (and hence the Evernote version) in which they were produced. So, if you have this problem look for notes with the title Screenshot and delete them if they are empty. Dataminer
  24. In the past, I could easily edit sketches inside notes on my iPad Pro. but now, I can’t edit them any more. When I tap the sketch to edit it, it opens as an image. I can added Annotations, but that’s not the same as Editing a Sketch. the weird thing is, I can easily edit Sketches on my IPhone 6s, the same Sketches I can’t edit on iPad. I have a Premium EN. Any ideas what to do?
  25. ☀️ Good afternoon! I use Evernote to collect and organize research from books that resemble epic tomes. It is difficult to stop and type out all of my notes, so I prefer using speech recognition software. I was previously using Evernote on iOS only, and used speech recognition that comes native with iPhone keyboards. However iOS speech recognition is inferior to the Windows 10 native speech recognition feature. However, when I attempted to use that on the Windows 10 app version, I can get out exactly one sentence before the speech recognition bar informs me that "Dictation is not fully supported in this app." Typing takes 3x longer than using speech recognition features (no hyperbole there). Without smooth usage of this native feature, it feels like the app is broken for purposes of use like mine. Right now, I have to take notes in Google Docs and copy/paste it into Evernote. I feel like this is sort of a shame for a subscription based premium service, and I'd love to work exclusively in Evernote to avoid even needing to juggle any of it. If there is a trick to getting this to work properly with Evernote that I'm not aware of, I'd appreciate counsel. It works as intended in every other software, apps and browsers that I have tested it in. This leads me to believe this isn't a settings problem, but I'm aware that there are sometimes specific needs and work-arounds with applications still in development. I would be grateful for serious consideration of full support for Windows 10 speech recognition features. Thank you for your time! Nicole
