  1. I would like the implementation mode to be implemented in the windowns as it is done in MAC. When I insert a file with ppt extension it does not recognize as a presentation and is attached, the memento happens with the PDF format. Can Evenrnote implement the presentation capabilities according to MAC? I wait anxiously!
  2. Awesome app btw, first time I downloaded it I didn't really get its potential but about a year ago I started to slowly use it again and now I can really see how I'm going to use it for both study and personal goals. One thing that would be really cool would to be able to directly sync between 2 devices on the same network. I know it's a cloud app and it works fine in that regard when am at home but now I am working on a ship whilst studying and low bandwidth really hinders my ability to get things done. I will take photos and picture through out the day of the engine room and then go up to my cabin to write up reports of what I've been doing but its hard to get the notes to sync back down to my phone. Alternatively I'll just take the pictures in my camera roll and then create the notes on my PC but then they do not download back down to my phone in time enough to be useful. If it was possible to cut out the middle man but still allow back up from one master device it would help immensely. Would be interesting to know if anyone else has any similar thoughts or if I'm alone in wanting this kind of feature.
  3. On iOS devices, one can decrypt text that was encrypted on the PC/Mac version of Evernote. But it is not possible to encrypt text on iOS. I'd like to use my iPad as my primary device, and I lack this important feature to me.
  4. I would like the ability to copy all the tags from one note and paste them into another note. Here is how I imagine this functionality working: Right-click a note in the Note List. Select Copy Tags from the menu. Right-click a different note in the Note List. Select Paste Tags. Both notes now contain the same tags.
  5. Hi everyone, I don't know, whether this has been posted before, but I dug a bit and nothing came up so here we go… I think it would be super duper handy to have the "Bookmark" option also include a small screenshot of the bookmarked website as a thumbnail, rather than a random image from the site, which is usually pretty pointless (buttons, ads…) This would make visually browsing bookmarked websites way easier and the absence of this feature is why I don't use the "bookmark" function as much as I should be. (I am aware of the "screenshot" option, that's how I made the left pane. But "bookmark" also adds more info of the website, which is quite handy, so, not the same)
  6. I have tons of passwords. I like the idea of using Evernote as a sort of password manager: Create a note for each username / password, and other applicable details that you have. Tag it up and leave nice comments to leverage search Highlight > "Encrypt Selected Text" on the portion of the note that contains any sensitive details as plain text. I understand that Evernote content is heavily encrypted so I feel like this is a reasonable approach to password management. However there seems to be (at least what I would consider) a security flaw with the "Note History" feature available on Premium accounts in that any information that was stored as plain-text before having been encrypted is easily viewed in a previous version of the note. Doesn't really protect against shoulder surfing / staying logged in to evernote with an unlocked workstation. After all: Everything is stored as plain-text before it has a chance to be encrypted. So my enhancement requests would be these: Add an option to disable revision history on a per-note and global basis Add an option to delete revision history on a per-note basis Add an option to retain X days of revisions history or Y number of revisions on a per-note and global basis Add an option to re-prompt for password before viewing revision history Add logic that says 'if the text is encrypted on the current version of the note, also encrypt / obfuscate in the history view. I understand this may be tricky from a 'detect what's encrypted now but wasn't before' point of view. An alternative would be to implement "if the current version has ANY encryption, then encrypt the entire previous version with the same hash". This could lead to 'nested' encryptions, but I don't see that as an issue. Add an option to provide a 'global' encryption passphrase (which may or may not be different than the password used to login). Only the hash of that string gets stored (obviously) When a user chooses to "Encrypt Selected Text", they have the option to apply this passphrase rather than typing it in (possibly incorrectly) Similarly, add an option to prompt that the passphrase be entered a second time to verify. This would reduce the risk of a user entering a passphrase incorrectly, then not being able to decrypt their text to enter it correctly. Also: I'd like to understand how encrypted text is handled if/when a premium user goes back to being a basic user. I'm an evernote Premium user. I use it on multiple platforms: OSX App, Ipad, Iphone, Linux (Web)
  7. I'm fairly new to Evernote and love it so far. I was looking for a single app where I could make lists, notes and reminders. I love the fact that I can integrate the content between my iPhone, Mac at home and my Windows PC at work. I would like to see an enhancement to the Reminders feature that would allow for a snooze option and / or automatically launches the note or bolds the text on the home screen for the note with the reminder. The reminders are too easy to clear from my iPhone - they usually pop-up on my Lock screen and only flashes briefly on my PC then fades. If I'm not sitting at my PC at the time, then I miss it entirely. Please let me know if there is a more appropriate place to post this kind of Topic or request or maybe there are some current settings in Evernote that I am not aware of yet or don't have set up properly. Thank you!
  8. It would be handy to have some sort of "watch this notebook" or "watch this note" feature. Allow a business user to "watch" a note or notebook and be notified of any changes to a note or additions/changes to a notebook. Allow the user to select notification method: email or push notification... or even text message perhaps. There are many instances when collaborating where time is of the essence. A push notification letting "watchers" know that a change has been made to a note... or a change/addition (new note) has been made to a notebook would be very helpful.
  9. Hello there, IOS 8 Mail has a nifty feature, while you're editing (composing, replying) an email, you can swipe down from the top of the app and the composer gets minimized. I wonder if this is a simple thing to implement via the SDK, it's very useful and would be great to have on Evernote. http://ti.me/1wFKBUG -> video showing what I'm referring to.
  10. On the web client, printing a note includes the creation date. The updated date provides more relevant information in the context of a printed note. I use evernote on Android and the web client on linux. Android client does not appear to have a print option.
  11. I have a good number of notes, but I'm sure others have even more. When I'm typing into the search box at the top ("Search the current context"), and especially when my current context is all notes, as soon as I type a character, it starts to search, which immediately starts to slow down my typing as I try to type in the rest of the word that I'm looking for. It would be nice if there was some sort of delay that holds off the search from beginning until I have finished typing the word the word and maybe a pause of 500ms or longer has occurred in my typing. The reason I find this troublesome is that sometimes I'm typing and the searching activity delays my keystrokes, but I think that I just missed typing that key for some reason, which results in me actually double typing in the character, and the search string is updated and a new search begins and then I have to backspace, which seems to cause it to start searching for the shorter string as I'm making my corrections... Bad user experience. FYI, I'm on a Windows 7 PC with an Intel 64-bit Core i7, 8 GB RAM, so I don't think CPU usage should be an issue. Another option is to let the search threads run at a lower priority level and let the typing happen at a higher priority level so that your typing is unaffected by the CPU usage of the search that is running. Just suggestions/ideas. Does anybody else have this happening to them?
  12. Currently the text toolbar does not have any icons to increase/decrease text indentation and hitting the tab key with highlighted text deletes the text. It would be nice to include a quick icon to increase/decrease the indentation without having to memorize the keyboard shortcut keys for it. Thanks! Chris
  13. It's cool and fun to take pictures of business cards and then have their data extracted. But it's pretty useless unless it integrates with your Address/Contact data. On a Mac you have a built-in place for the information. If Evernote doesn't want to get that platform specific, it could make the information available as a vCard file that could be opened by a wide variety of address/contact programs.
  14. When using "Add to Outlook", the "NewClip" Screen used to allow you to type in the notebook area. When you have a lot of notebooks, as avid Evernote Users often do, then it is now difficult to quickly find the one you want since functionality was recently downgraded for Evernote & Outlook Users. In previous versions, you could use the keyboard to find the notebook by simply typing the first few letters, looking at the autofill populated option, and then hitting tab to select the notebook you want. You didn't have to use the mouse, didn't have to hit any other keys, etc. In the current version, if you select more than one letter then it jumps to the top of an alphabetical list of the most recently hit letter from the keyboard entry. I've been trying to live without it for a long time, but it is simply a productivity draw back and I still get frustrated every time I create a clip now (usually 8 to 10 times per day). Desired functionality that used to exist: I am in outlook I choose "Add to Evernote" The "New Clip" Screen shows I verify title - which has autofilled from the title of my "clipped" content. I hit tab. I added whatever tags I want. I hit tab. I hit tab to place my cursor in the Notebook area to select the correct one: I want to select notebook called "Pricing Committee" which is 8th in the list of all notebooks beginning with letter "P". There are no other notebooks that begin with letters p-r-i. I type letters p-r-i and the autofill in the list shows Pricing Committee. I hit tab and the cursor goes to "Add Note" button When I "add note" then the note is created in the notebook selected & with other parameters defined.Current functionality, which is undesired, less functional & takes a lot more time: I am in outlook I choose "Add to Evernote" The "New Clip" Screen shows I verify title - which has autofilled from the title of my "clipped" content. I type letters p-r-i and the notebooks jump in the list from the 1st notebook that starts with P - Immediately jumps in the list from the 1st notebook that starts with R - Lastly jumps in the list from the 1st notebook that starts with I. So... I type letter P and then I scroll through the list of notebooks that start with P. I have to then use my mouse to click away & scroll to the desired notebook in the list --OR--- I hit the down arrow key 7 times until I get to the desired notebook. I hit tab and the cursor goes to "Add Note" button When I "add note" then the note is created in the notebook selected & with other parameters defined. Would really appreciate it if we could get this back, please.
  15. When viewing a shared notebook, the tags that were created by the original user are all listed in the Tags root, which really creates havoc in the Tags section from an organization standpoint, especially with multiple users. A simple fix for this would be to create another section (or subsection) called Shared Tags that would be broken down by each user who shared them. Shared Tags and each user should be collapsible. So right now, under Tags, I have numerous tags in the Tags root from each user with his/her name in parenthesis after each individual tag. It would make more sense to have: Shared Tags->John Smith->JS Tag 1 ->JS Tag 2 ->JS Tag 3 ->Mary Snow->MS Tag 1 ->MS Tag 2 ->MS Tag 3 ->MS Tag 4 ->Bob Roberts->BR Tag 1 ->BR Tag 2 This way, I could collapse and expand "Shared Tags" and then collapse and expand "John Smith" to hide or show John's tags. Same with Mary, Bob, etc. The current method really hampers how my company uses Evernote. I know I am not the only one who would like to see improvement regarding Shared Tags. My suggestion seems like a simple fix to me. Thanks.
  16. Versions: all versions/OSs It would be very useful to make the creation date editable. Say I'm taking a photo of a page about a meeting on my diary, I would like to set the creation date to the date of the meeting. It would be more consistent if I make a search, and I would see the note in the list in the "right" order. Thank you, great product!
  17. The PC version allows to sort by tag. This is very helpful if using the GTD (Get Things Done / thesecretweapon.org) to prioritize tasks. The Android client has View Options of Sort by create date, update date, title, city, county and notebook. My request is to add Tag. I am keying an identical request for the web/Chrome client. Thank you, AndyP
  18. On a Note, if you highlight a phone number, copy the number, then do Hyperlink, Add... and enter "tel:nnn-nnn-nnnn" (or really any number following the tel:) if you bring up the note on a mobile device, you can click on the number to have the phone dial it (or at least on Android phones, but I image other phones will follow the tel: type). It makes it much easier and safer to dial a number from Evernote while driving, then the current way of trying to select the number, copy and paste it into the phone app. I would like to suggest as an enhancement request that Evernote looks at the selected text, and if it is numbers, -, (, ) or spaces, the Hyperlink context menu also displays "Add Phone link...". and automatically puts the tel: in front of the phone number text.
  19. I use Evernote to take notes in all my meetings and I often find myself inserting a ToDo or other comment in my notes. I would love to be able to delimit these with come character(s) (perhaps double brackets?) and had the indexer collect them into a single note (perhaps with links back to their origin?). This way I could scan a single collection of all my ToDos and comments rather than search through many notes for them.
