I have been an EN user since Beta, and became a Premium user as soon as it was offered. I do not understand why EN is lagging with simple security options, such as easy encryption of notes and notebooks. This really should be as easy as a Right-Click or selection in properties for a Note or Notebook. The existing method of selecting text in a note and then using a Right-Click option to encrypt it is cumbersome at best. Yes, it is a nice feature if one wants to encrypt only a portion of a note. That's fine. But there should be an easy way to (1) encrypt an entire note without selecting text and (2) encrypt an entire notebook. I would be willing to pay a few bucks extra a year for this additional encryption ability. Seems this should be a no-brainier for EN, both as a tech matter and as a business/profit matter.- 36 replies

If I want to hide certain information written in my notes, - Or indeed the whole note, for simplicity's sake - there doesn't seem to be a way to do it! ? I know you can encrypt chunks of text, but it appears these have to be all in one paragraph... what if I want to keep the format of my paragraphs? If it's long text I'd have to go through all of it taking all the paragraphs out?? I could hide notes entirely - retrieveable by password - but this doesn't seem to be available either! That's pretty bad isn't it? I'm not talking about hiding information from hackers, more from prying eyes. Or in case someone steals my computer etc.

Pretty much self-explanatory. Text can be encrypted on a desktop and viewed on mobile but not encrypted on mobile. I know this has been posted many times before but it does not seem to be an "idea" so i thought to make it one.

Hello, i have a huge problem with a note. I encrypted it and now i can't open it anymore. I can't contact the chat online because they are never online and i can't send a ticket to them. The evernote desktop apps has the encrypt text feature. In the android app, it is not present. Please add this functionality to android app as well.

Hello, I noted that cutting & pasting a password "Encrypted selected text" contents within Evernote note, once encrypted, I've lost the data because I can't paste. What's worse, the cut contents are lost. I've one this within a note but it also seems to apply between different notes. I guess I shouldn't cut the "object" that symbolizes the encrypted text, but rather the text once decrypted. However, it's intuitively what I tend to do, and since It might be something that doesn't happen to everyone, I wanted to mention it. Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this. I use Windows 10 and Evernote 5.9.6.9494(277494) Public. -
Hi guys, Did a few searches but still can't find an answer. If it's in another thread,you are welcome to merge or point me that way. I'm looking for a quick way or using an app to encrypt picture or file in EN using the iphone or an app. Things like bank statements,signed documents etc. I know that they won't be searchable except for using the tags but I'm fine with it. At the moment I've tested an app called Cypher bot which seemed to work well except when exporting the image ,the app couldn't read the Enex file. Any one have any ideas or will I need to crank up the mac every time I want to encrypt a picture. Maybe another app to convert an Enex to jpg on the iphone,then back to the encryption app? I'd rather just a simple method. Oh and I'm fairly technically sound but let's not start Developer jargon because you will lose me
