  1. Details are as follows: Mac OS X version 10.9.5 current or upgraded version of Evernote: 10.6.0 (451119 Direct) I got a window pop-up that asks me if I want to update to the latest version of Evernote. I clicked Yes and it started updating. After an update, I find all my sync'd to cloud Notebooks BUT could not find all my local notebooks (not sync'd to cloud). A quick search in Finder tells me that all my local notebook contents are in: ~/<user>/Library/Caches/Metadata/com.evernote.Evernote. Title of notebook files are p<numeric number>.evernote. Example: p156.evernote. I opened the .evernote file in TextEdit and I can see all my notes there in xml format. I want it shown in my Evernote app and in the right format as before. How do I point my Evernote app to find my local notebooks?
  2. Since the more version 6.0 upgrade on my Mac desktop, I have found Evernote to be dysfunctional! Until this upgrade I would have said that Evernote is my favorite app, but not any longer . . . I am running Mac OS 10.9.5. I read through the forum comments and did find that restarting my desktop helped to see all the "missing" notes, but that is only the beginning of the issues I am experiencing. Currently, I am trying to do nothing more than create a new folder (successful doing that) and then creating a new note in that file! Sounds simple enough, but the "new note" comes up but I am unable to add a title, content, tag - nothing! The page is blank and I can do NOTHING with it. The only option at this point is go back to my notebooks . . . this is bizarre!!!
  3. Reproducible bug in Mac 6.0.1 running under OS 10.9.5: 1. Create or select any note. 2. Press command-P to print. 3. Press ESC to cancel the print request. 4. The contents of the note's title field have been removed.
  4. Hi, not been using EN too long but long enough to get to grips with it and require a Premium account. However, on many instances when look at a note or open something from within an attachment, the Note reverts to being called 'Untitled'. At first i thought it was maybe me accidentally being a bit quick on the keyboard but i have been extra careful over the weekend and it is still doing it. Its very annoying, particularly when a note is just a title, for example a reminder as then you have no content to jog your memory on what it should be. I have searched the forum and some say upgrade from the App Store version 6 to the web version 6..01 which i have done but it is still happening (and if this is a flaw in 6.0 then surely 6.0 should be replaced quickly with 6.01), but its still happening. Lost a bit of confidence due to fact i have had a couple of notes revert to 'untitled' and i cannot remember what they were. Any help or steer would be great. Thanks all Barry
  5. Opening note in separate window causes the normal note pane to be empty/blank Quitting Evernote does not fix it, the computer needs to be restarted Screen cap attached of empty note pane
  6. Hi all, Seasoned evernote user and I'm having major troubles with Evernote on my Mac. I use an older mac laptop runing Mac OS X Lion. I have hundreds of notes to process and desperately need to organize the notes into notebooks. Everytime I uset the "move to notebook" menu command and start typeing a notebook name in the search, Evernote hangs/crashes. Details: Macbook Pro 13" Mac OSX Lion 10.7.5 (supported by evernote version below) Evernote 6.0.1 I am in need of a solution to organize these hundreds of notes, clicking everything with a mouse is insane for a productivity oriented app. I'm loosing faith in Evernote and also looking for an alternative. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  7. I just upgraded to Evernote Version 6.0 (451092 App Store). I opened a note (14,917 words, 104,054 chars). Activity montior showed that the memory used by evernote was 133.5MB. Then I appended 10 empty lines at the end of the note. Memory usage went up to 200MB. Then I pressed RETURN 10 times. The memory went up to 260MB. I kept pressing RETURN. The memory went up linearly and quickly to 400MB I deleted these empty lines. The memory kept increasing. BTW, it is very slow to press keys.
  8. OK, I must have passed out and I must have been asleep for quite some time... I seem to have jumped from EN 5.7.2 and landed and hit my head?? When I came round I seem to have landed in EN 6.0.1 Now I am no Software Developer nor do I run a company that generates Software but any Application I have used would class this as potentially a big deal, going from Version 5 to Version 6 but not the folks at Evernote. Minor releases, bug fixes would be progressive releases inside Version 5 but to leap past Version 6 without blinking an eyelid....? Am I missing something??
  9. Version 6.0 (451092 App Store) Yosemite 10.10.1. Bug: notes do not appear in the view at all. See video here: http://screencast.com/t/hxPPgO6E5CaQ This 6.0 update is terrible. Faster? Fewer bugs? It's been nothing but slower with more bugs. This bug has been reported to EN support.
  10. I'm running Yosemite and upgraded to Evernote 6.0. I launched the app and when I tried to log in, I kept getting user/pass errors although I know what I was entering was correct. I tried a different email address just in case, and somehow ended up logged in to that account. My account is always under email1 (I checked through the web app) but somehow I'm logged in to email2, with no notes or premium features. Every time I try to log out, Evernote freezes. I have to force quit the app every time. I see that the Evernote Helper is not responding, as is the main Evernote process. I've restarted, closed all programs, uninstalled Evernote, reinstalled the software, restarted again, and cannot get passed the process Not Responding. My intent is to log out so I can log in to my actual account. Anyone else having this issues? Evernote, are you aware of this?
  11. I've made several posts (like this one) in other threads mostly pointing out why the attempted "Yosemite style" fail, especially comparing to the Apple apps. I figure I might as well do a slightly more comprehensive one for the various places in the new Evernote interface that I dislike. The screenshot is probably too big to post directly, so here's the link: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s68/sh/d706b2b3-e355-484f-b40c-232a74684e0c/dc35dad7b4f781e9
  12. Hi Community, I have a problem - after upgrading to the Yosemite client, Evernote is reporting a "non-syncable note" that does not exist. Meining I can't delete the note (since it is not there), and i still get the error every time. Screenshot attached. Does anyone have the same problem?
  13. Evernote 6.0 on Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 6.0 was working fine for me for a few days. Then I double-clicked to open a note in a new window. Result ... DISASTER. -- The window was empty and marked "Untitled" instead of the name of the note I opened. -- The note I HAD opened was renamed "Untitled" also. -- The contents of ALL NOTES has now vanished from the main evernote view .. all of them .. all notebooks. Restarting Evernote doesn't fix this. Nothing I do can restore the notes data. The note part (right hand window) remains totally blank, just showing the created and updated dates and then nothing. Fortunately my iPad shows the notes are still intact, so the note data is still there .. but Evernote on my Mac apparently cannot display it. Any ideas? --Tim
  14. After updating OSX Mavericks and Evernote, new notes created with attachments no longer have the option to and cannot be viewed inline. I really hope this gets fixed soon as I depend on Evernote for school, and viewing attachments inline makes life so much easier. Curious if anyone else has experienced this problem? Thanks
  15. I did upgrade the other day to version 6 and the upgrade managed to lose notebooks. On further examination, it was the off-live note books which were not carried over to the new version. Luckily I kept the old version so I transferred the offline notes to a synched notebook and then upgraded. Seems to have worked ok. (I could have exported the notebooks and re-imported them after upgrade.) Couple of points... 1. Why does Evernote checksum the contents prior to upgrade and then rechek the checksum afterwards? This would at least alert us to the fact that the new version was 'different' in content. 2. Even better would be a notbook by notebook comparison to highlught notes not transferred. Shouldn't have to do this but it seems Evernote has not been successful at performing faultless upgrades. 3. Without this type of checking how do I know whether the content I had before the upgrade is the same as afterwards?? 3. Off subject but the MAC version is the most boring UI I have ever had the misfortune to look at. I use Evernote extensively and need to have some faith in the product. Currently, I don't.
  16. I do not like the new PALE Yosemite look in the current interface The previous green was a bit much, but the new total washed out look is far worse
  17. Thanks for Integrating with OSX Yosemite look However Evernote Yosemite translucency broken when scrolling. Screenshots: https://www.evernote.com/l/AS40budQTUhKtruL6HLYVbvOPCA69S0sKbo
  18. Hello... I have the new 6.0 Evernote and have a couple of questions. 1) Is it possible when going between notebooks, instead of the note being selected always be the first one that it chooses the last selected note? 2) In 6.0, the Notes always show the Title. Is is possible to not show the title in the actual note itself? Thanks!
  19. I love Evernote. I think the "slick new look" of Evernote 6 is great. But I've grown concerned about the usability of the product. I noticed that with each Evernote release comes new things to click. Each new thing makes things more crowded. It's finally gotten to the point where it's seriously affecting the usability of Evernote. Here's a screenshot of what I'm talking about: Why are things that I never use (and frankly, the great majority of the users) taking up valuable screen real estate and hiding the features that I think are important? This can be easily fixed by adding the option to customize the generate and note editor toolbars. I'm sure I'm not the first to propose this, but it's been bearable until now... I can't even see the search bar without expanding the note window to cover up everything. Is an option to customize these things in the pipeline?
  20. The "Classic Link" option is not available in Evernote 6 menus. This is the link in the form: evernote:///view/239650/s3/2da710ef-ff7d-4121-872c-621e2e4dafca/2da710ef-ff7d-4121-872c-621e2e4dafca/The only link available for copying to the clipboard is the html link that opens the note in the web interface. That's fine, if we want to send a link in an email or social message, but if we need the link for use on the local machine and we want the note to open in the desktop client, or we don't want to launch a browser, or any of several reasons, then the "class link" is needed. For now, I can make an AppleScript to grab the link, but I want it added back to Evernote 6 and subsequent releases.
  21. Just upgraded to Mac 6.0. Attempted to search for a known street name of DALEN failed. After some testing I found that if I searched for DAL I successfully got hits on things like DALLAS, but if I expanded the search to DALE I would only get hits on things such at DATE. It was changing the L to T.
